I just hire the neighbor kid to play my game. Easy peezy.

I really thought the airship would slowly travel the world. each day you’d be in a different map or city. I really thought it would take place once shiny LA was unveil and the camp beneath the airship disappeared.

I do like the idea of a traveling method that moves nonstop. A major concern, if you call it a train Anet will sooner or later nerf it.

I expect to see mounts only when Anet needs a boost in Gem Store sales. When mounts do arrive they will all be so cute and will automatically adorn the rider in a long coat to standardize the riding animation. Plus the mounts will be really really cute.

Although I’d favor enormous glittery war hippos.

Yep, I told ppl to play the game and have fun and that got nerfed.

Do dailies, spend the Laurels on T6 bags, wander around different maps harvesting, mining…hold materials until they hit your price.

The lamp is of little use. One of the materials used in crafting is time gated so every 10 days a lamp can be crafted. It takes a lower level essence, because of space all my Luck has been refined into exotic stacks. The lamp is no solution.

Exactly, AzureSky states it clearly. The reality is that Magic Find has a cap. So what use does Anet propose for this currency after the cap has been reached? They keep giving it to me as a daily reward!

I’ll admit I’m the type of player that gets a goal and works hard at reaching it. I maxed MF by buying greens and salvaging them for the essences. What I found is that it could be a profitable process and have continued doing it.

Thus the stacks of Essences of Luck in my bank. We all play our own game I’m just hoping that someday there will be an additional use for this currency.

Perhaps my perspective is wrong. I’d have thought that more than “a tiny subset” of players would have maxed MF by now. Either way I think it short sighted to introduce a single use currency (of which I have an overabundance). I’m running out of storage space and it seems a waste to delete them.

Anet introduced Essence of Luck to solve their Magic Find dilemma. But once we have maxed out MF it seems a reasonable expectation that there is a secondary use for the essences. Note* – please don’t give us another busy work treasure hunt for a geegaw or a collection that uses Sam……

A large number of players (not necessarily the OP) who ask “why don’t we have open trade?” really mean “I liked being a power trader”. Yes, chat filled WTB and WTS is obnoxious and realizing some power trader gouged you after the fact is no fun.

But there is a price we pay (disregarding the 15% fee) for having a controlled economy. In GW1 there was a sense excitement when a new weapon/mini pet would be introduced. Getting to and getting the “new” Icy Dragon Sword was a big deal. But things are not as they were in GW1, but I do miss the charge of excitement when you got a Vial of Dye [Black].

Realistically, what happened was after running a report on new player dropout and seeing a decline in Gem Store use by new and returning players, a group of Devs in some meeting room said “OMG, WTF are we going to do?”. Two or three of the Devs were thinking but not saying “I knew it”.

What we have is spin by Colin J. I’d be curious to know how far along “our new” trait system really is… Remember this all came along during PAX. If yr not selling something new at PAX you get no buzz or PR.

At least that’s the way I see it.

Well I do think it an issue. Anet’s practice of controlling the economy by inserting new currencies seems to have worked. Except it causes orphaned currencies that in most cases the players disregard.

Essences of Luck is not connected to a Living World event and I think Anet needs to step up and find a secondary use for them. AND please don’t make it a lame vendor that sells basic salvage kits.

The TP is a separate web site. Every bit of info that you add to the TP increases the load on that web site (I’m sure some techie will come on and explain why that shouldn’t matter). When they redesigned the old “broken” TP their goal was to strip it down so that it wouldn’t crash. So we now have a broken TP that doesn’t crash.

What amazes me about the release of the new TP is how obvious it was a crippled version when using it. It was if it hadn’t been tested by someone who knew the game and used the TP. How does that happen?

I can go to my investment site and do giant searches, old old histories and any number of in depth studies. I suspect this is a case of follow the money, how much did Anet want to spend on a TP. IMO not enough.

I spent most of my time in GW1 hoping for a TP/Auction House because material trading and mini pets were a big part of my game. I had high hopes for the GW2 TP. It continues to disappoint.

I want a Quaggan mount.

We were discussing ways to clean this up relatively recently and think we have a plan, though the complexity of the operation means we’re not going to rush to do it.

Well besides being confusing. once someone puts in a sell order for the vendor price all further buy orders are then blocked. I can instant buy the single item at the vendor price but not buy multiples at that price. Odd way to run a business.

I did put a bug report in.

Here’s my issue. I have a full inventory and I want to scroll through it to see if it would be wiser to sell in TP vs Merchant. The new TP does list prices of those items that are above merchant price. Great.

The problem is as I scroll through selecting items to sell, my list keeps returning what seems a random spot in my inventory rather than the spot that I removed the item. Returning to the list from where you removed an item seems an intuitive step.

Was the new TP tested by people that play the game?

-Ghost-In-A-Box
-Pre-Searing I love that place – Death leveled 2 chars for LDoA
-Nicholas the Traveler every Monday.
-Piken Square and the horrible crew that hung there.
-Nine Rings (not really)
-Finding a Black Dye, after 7 years it was still a rush
-Guild Halls
-working on Builds for me and for my Heroes
-pre-nerf Verata’s Sacrifice ( I kept hoping they’d revert it)
-The armors
-A drop was yours to use or sell, very few account bound items

Listings below merchant price are showing up again. I once heard a Dev say that that shouldn’t happen. Now with the TP Light it seems to be more than ever. Or am I confused?

To ruin the game
>add mounts; small little mounts barely larger than players and give the mounts horrible gaits so riders (and their camera) jiggle and weave all over. Make the mounts speed just a tad slower than running speed.

>add an additional step in collecting TP proceeds; A RNG Wheel with + and – percentages on the pay out. Have a very few larger % payouts and mostly lower percentages. Include a Big Loser slot that takes all the gold.

>Nerf necros with every update. Add an odd buff to only mele skills.

>Buff Thieves so that they have perma stealth.

>Have the Mystic Forge give full disclosure on the out come odds of every forging.

Am I doing it wrong? I’m looking for an item I bought a few months ago and can’t seem to find the record. If three days is the max history it’s just plain lame.

Has Anet had anything to say about this. Or should we get ready or a “it’ll get fixed when we have the next big LS update in Nov” wait?

Any word when the bugged Flesh of the Master trait will be fixed? Playing a MM w/ minions that drop dead enmasse is troublesome.

I really hope it is a bug. I filed a report- they leave in such a clunky way I can’t believe it’s a new added “feature”.

My thought is why even bother listing a number. It’s been asked elsewhere, did they test this patch on real players? If they did they didn’t (or couldn’t and that’s another topic) listen.

The Good the Bad & the Ugly -BLTP buy/sell Interface

The Good
-Item price listed
-Both buy and sell listing listed on same page
-Quantity slider
-It has yet to crash
-No listing or exchange fees for selling materials (is that a change?)

The Bad
-The arrows that adjust price way too small (appears to share the same tiny arrows as in crafting)
-The Interface insert is cramped.

The Ugly
-Removal of Profit feature. Why remove a feature ppl used? Seems insidious and unwise.
-The number of listings for Ordered and Available is just plain broken. Another change that gives less info rather than more.

Conclusions- I’m an active TP user. I used the TP to max my Magic Find and made a profit. The changes make me want to play GW2 less rather than more.

I was the victim of the biggest troll of this game. I thought GW2 was going to be a continuation of GW1. While Gw2 is a nice game with many interesting things to do, it lacks most of what made GW1 a great and enjoyable game.

For me it had stopped AND now has started again. Huh? Are the interns in charge again?

As previous poster stated, a big thank you for adding Lion’s Arch as a destination.

I would add a suggestion to just have Quaggan mounts but won’t because some moderator states “it adds nothing to the discussion”.

So….Stop making requests that they stop making requests for mounts. There on topic. I could rage a bit but that’s not really my style.

Airship Helmsman sends me to Lion’s Arch after selecting Black Citadel. Repeated it six times. My connection is good (cable) and noticed no lag.

I’ll keep trying other locations.

Yep – every time I log in I’m reminded of the clunky design that Anet allowed to be released. Also please add Lion’s Arch as an airship destination.

Greens have worked for me, I probably ought to give blues a shot. I’ve been chasing higher level materials the last month. Sorting out which items work is hit and miss. Oh and http://www.gw2spidy.com/ is your friend.

Nice guide. I did it in a very similar manner. Only greens and get the Salvage O Matic. I started making money and was able to hold materials until they showed an increase in price. That lead me to shopping low demand materials that could spike in price. Events & LS seem to cause spikes.

If you can find an armor or weapon that will hold a bid and not get over bid that’s a real treat, it’ll produce way more Essences. I broke my purchases up into 2 groups. Group 1; I’d check every 2 or 3 days and Group 2; I’d check early AM and late PM pulling all bids and giving it a rest for 24 hrs every 3rd day.

If you are working on MF an important fact to remember is that you have the upper hand on the TP. Your goal is essences – you just need to break even.

The only good thing I can say about this is “at least it’s not something cute and fuzzy”.

I’d really like to see how decisions are made at Anet. At times it’s as if the interns are running the place and at other times it’s as if the department heads all switch spots. I don’t get it. Perhaps Anet is browbeat by NCsoft and forced to make changes they know won’t work.

I did think I’d get this response, but when the issue comes up it’s all “picture or it didn’t happen”and ppl offering suggestions on how I could raise my MF. I maxed MF big deal. But the real issue is how Anet is going handle multiple currencies.
