A constant through this entire match is that Crystal Desert plays smart and oragnized, and Maguuma just does everything it can to handicap Ehmry Bay. I watch these things very carefully and they wait for Crystal to make a move every time to hit Ehmry, because they do not win on their own without a large number advantage.
This hasn’t changed at all since opening night where they intentionally handicapped all of our openers. Yet we still managed to do things like take Crystal Desert Garrison, we just can’t keep it with Maguuma dedicated to ninjaing our camps with 20 people instead of trying to actually fight.
But this is what I expect of Mag. Just more gimmicks and crutches aimed at Ehmry. A striaght battle, clever or otherwise, simply isn’t their style.
Horsekitten. I led most of the maguuma population into CD’s borderland myself tonight and we took most of it, as well as pushed ourselves to highest potential points. Towards when I got off we even fought with inferior numbers. There’s no anti-EB conspiracy.
Only took a small force to retake the Maguuma BL, when the Maguuma zerg disappeared immediately after capping.
Don’t think we hate you, it’s just more efficient and easy. Why would we go after well-defended positions of Ehmry, while you guys leave your towers and keeps undefended with no siege?
Exactly, everytime we went Mag BL, nobody was around to defend your keep. We could even take it with just 6 people. Is that what we should expect for “very organized” world as you claimed? And it felt very differently when we went to EBay. Oh..and cry more.
We are not very organized. Not compared to the T1 and T2 servers. But i can see that we are at least 3x more organized than you guys, the only thing you guys know is to create a single huge zerg and hop from BL to BL with that single zerg while we take everything else from you. Your players lack individual skill as well. Took like 10 people to wipe 30 maguuma guys on EB this morning.
Maguuma doesn’t even deserve to be in tier 4
We managed to group up and take out a fully defended, fully upgraded and fully sieged out Maguuma Garrison using cross-guild coordination. You can cry all you want, but when my guild rolls into your BL or any where else we destroy you even with lesser numbers. You can sit here and say that we are bad, but we destroy you even without a zerg. Your organizational skills are not amazing, or even competent – you cannot even defend your own borderland even when you do have the numbers.
I do not know why you guys think you are so good while you continually sit so low in the tier rankings. If people thought you were good they would have transfered to your server after you “stomp them” with your superior organizational skills.
There is a reason why your borderland has been the place to go for free points. We rolled in there with a group of 10 and rolled out with an easy keep cap.
Keep up the charade, we will keep farming those easy points.

That aside, great work by Maguuma tonight in the CD borderland. Went from no presence and smallest cut of the pie to largest and having a keep there plus two on our own BL in just two hours. And know what? I don’t even have a commander icon, so we did all of that based purely on Mumble comms (though Exits and Mel did bring their icons along for the ride). Managed to get CD to commit everything to a feint at east keep before we all rushed through the downed wall at west and rushed down the door with 4 rams before they could recommit.
I’m not sure about the other guild leaders but my guild and a few others are currently aiming Maguuma just because we love all your posts in this forum.

i believe anet wanted a nice moving target for people to practice their skills on, they tried that with the moving golem in HotM but it was too predictable and the test group wanted something more… random and real, hence after much consideration the ranger class was made This class was given a pet that cannot hit moving targets, the damage of the ranger themselves are sub par and they have just about no skills that can cause a serious threat to any class ( for a while QZ + SB did but they fixed that quick ). Put a bunch of them in WvW and there you go, a bunch of randomly walking targets that other classes can use to test build viability, skill rotations and even practice dodging on, all without the risk of dying to
but seriously, rangers have been getting ignored…. wait actually we are being baited with false hopes and empty promises about getting our bugs/mechanics fixed and skills improved, then they give us projectile finishers for our underwater weapons and ….. cosmetic buffs to skills that….. well they are still not fixed
so i’m not sure which makes me feel worse, the lack of improvements or the promises that weren’t kept…..
If you watch this, it actually shows rangers pretty handily beating other classes. Still a class that has issues though.
The guilds drop superior siege on CD but the puggers don’t. Join a good guild and all you will see is superior siege.
Looks to me like 90+% of your server’s WvW players are puggers, with the way they just melee’d down doors on Eternal last night.
1. Spirits and pets 75% resistant to all non-melee sources of AoE damage
2. Pet HP increased by 33% across the board
3. Spirit HP tripled
4. Greatsword chain skill power scaling increased, now deals most damage of any Ranger weapon’s chain skill due to having the highest risk
5. Axe 2 skill buffed, seems highly lackluster
6. Sick ‘Em — Somethimg major here. This skill is literally trash.
7. Quickening Zephyr — I’m not sure this is as good as other class’ quickness options. Very long CD too.
8. Signet passives as a whole are pretty bad
9. Troll unguent is very bad in pvp
Mag generally doesn’t drop superior siege, it’s not a normal thing we do. Just sayin’.
We do drop a metric ton of normal siege though.
Yeah, we pop it for important things like keep and garrison. EB and CD don’t pop it at all. Hell, the other day CD was running around with a 100 man zerg chopping gates down bare-handed in Eternal. That’s why they’re the lowest ranked of the “24/7 queues” servers. It’s funny because they’re also incredibly tryhard. Only 2-3 CD showed up for fight club, and they repeatedly tried to crash it screaming “NO FUN ALLOWED!” Must be frustrating to take WvW that seriously but also be so awful at it.
Reduced base stats, damage output, and control to account for having a pet, and pets CANNOT hit moving targets worth a kitten (read: pvp). In addition, dungeon bosses and mini-bosses will one-hit-kill almost 100% of the pets in the game, leaving you with a class that’s stat-kittened for a mechanic it almost never gets to use.
I don’t know why we’re fighting cd again when they beat us by 110k points because they have way more players than us. This match-making system is terrible.

We had people shooting through the walls killing siege. Yeah, gg. We held it anyway. It wasn’t until later on in the night that we finally lost it. It had no wp in it, with both CD and EB attacking, but our guys still got in, rezzed keeper, wiped bridge siege, rebuilt our siege. No, I don’t want to leave the server.
I saw that meatgrinder, I scouted it and told Ehmry to move on. 8+ superior arrow carts arranged in a circle around the perimeter of the lord room. You didn’t win on virtue of skill, you won on virtue of massed siege in locations out of LOS focusing on a single location you had to go through.
Was it a good idea and effective? Yes, Could any server do it easily? Yes. You zerged hills back from us tonight but we didn’t even set up a meat grinder because Ehmry’s nighttime pop is so low we just don’t have enough to even make that work.
Backpedalling to the max. Your pop isn’t that bad and you know it. Your server just doesn’t have what it takes to drop superior siege to hold something, or the coordination to make it a priority.

Figure I’ll submit the main. Very much a Norn of action this one. Loves fighting, drinking, his pets, and sharp pieces of metal. We’ll say for the sake of spicing things up that it’s night-time (and thus the greatsword is all glowy). Anyway, I think an action-ey pose (like with the shotted Maul spirit-bear) would suit him best.
Did somebody say fight club? I thought I heard somebody say fight club. Don’t let the pubbie zergs see this. Series of 1v1s between those servers. I fight a lot myself because one of the source videos was corrupted and I spent a lot of time buried in menus creating and populating [CLUB].

You are wrong. You are not that good and you are not that organized. You did not hold your keep, all you did was hold the lord room which is the easiest defensive position to hold in this entire game. A 10 man group can hold off a 70 man zerg in that room if they have a few pieces of seige and a guardian.
We let your remaining force go off to defend redbriar and we ninja’d your keep – if you had superior tactics and organization then we would have seen all of your remaining force move north to defend – but all we saw was you. And we promptly killed you and your keep.
You can hold one keep in primetime all you want and think it makes you superior, but we held the rest of the map and the over all point advantage. If you were as good as you say you would have held that keep all night and all morning with a skeleton crew like SOR did against us when we fought them – instead you gave it up without a fight.
Get off your high horse.
Rectum rumpled EBay trash. How does it feel to have never won a matchup based on anything but population and timezone games? Low overall skill level + tons of people + no coordination = unwarranted self importance to the extreme. You’ll never be more than tier 4, and probably won’t even stay there. Meanwhile we gain guilds every matchup for our organized community.
P.S. Tell your [TTD] recruiters to get out of our Lion’s Arch. Maguuma players are too skilled to want an EB guild, where they’ll get stuck on a zero coordination server populated almost entirely by bandwagoning pubs.

Same difference really. CD is populated almost entirely by bandwagoners and “no fun allowed” guilds. That was evident during Fight Club, when only three CD players knew how to have fun.
P.S. I’m not seeing CD win many small scale engagements against us either, I wonder why.

Nah, we don’t think CD are all like that. We actually had a couple of people from CD there! We called their guild tags in the Magguma Mumble and super sekrit fight club guild chat and told them to go stand still in the woods. They ended up not getting killed.
To Rethesis, you guys are a lot of fun and everyone in the Mumble community respects you. If you ever end up wanting a new home we’d be more than happy to have you here. I made your guild leader a head organizer in the fight club guild, so feel free to use it however you want for your next matchup. Also holy kitten these post timers are making me realize I was at fight club for 6 hours … I was the greatsword ranger with the wolf shoulder and badge chestpiece.
When the 15 of us busted into your fight club activity we thought it was some cross server team up to try and knock us off the lead position somehow. Was a bit confusing when you kept it up as we took supply camps.
“You could have wiped the whole map as many of the “opposing” forces were at one location.” We took the two high towers but when we went for the garrison it seems that was enough to break up the party.
Yeah. I managed to get the fight club group to pull out and waypoint citadel in time to save garrison. Then we took back all of our towers and supply camps. Believe it or not you CAN get fight club people to mass exodus or take a break to save important things, you just need to do it politely and be a respected individual. Running in with a pubbie karma train behind you and your commander tag on while swearing at everyone is pretty much the worst way …

lol. what we have here is a failure to communicate. read carefully. all other things being equal -traits, etc (everyone gets those), the gear gives significantly better stats. stats matter esp in small scale wvwvw. I should be able to get those stats by doing things other than dungeon grinds.
How is that a failure in communication. People wanted to have gear adventage in wvw. And now they have.
They did? I’m a WvW guild leader and I want all ascended gear automatically unequipped and locked the instant someone steps onto one of the maps.
New 80 dungeons and explorables.
Turn Ascended gear into reskins of exotics / fresh stat mixes equivalent to exotic. Make a world event that spawns every couple hours that infuses your equipped weapon & armor and drops a chest (Shatterer, Claw). No stat bonuses from it but lets you deal with Fractals better.
Apologist drivel. Anet should stick to their manifesto.
I don’t want to grind for anything. I want rewards for mastery and completion. World completion, doing all the exp and story paths, unlocking every skill, racking up kills and objectives in WvW (why don’t capture / defend events reward a couple badges?), doing the jump puzzles, killing the world bosses, etc. Some things should stay expensive and hard to reach like legendaries, but max stat gear with choice of runes and sigils should be near ubiquitous for anyone except new level 80s.
Remove MF gear from the game. Increase base drop rate to compensate.
(keep consumables and other non-gear MF buffs)
All MF gear in game becomes unequipped, converted to berserker (closest relative), and un-soulbound.

Wouldn’t mind kicking people using magic find gear instead of taking extra stats too.
EDIT: Oh, and I want DPS meters too, so I can kick thieves if their heartseekers hit less than 6k on a half hp mob.

Can we stop silencing the criticism with this containment thread too, or is that too much to ask for? The playerbase at large DOES NOT WANT a new gear tier. SOME PEOPLE might, but GW2 was never made for that obsessive, no-life audience. This is supposed to be a skill-oriented game where max stat gear is readily attainable.
So, Why CAN’T infusion just be a gear property you can put on anything via a quest / instance / event / dungeon / what have you? Why do we need a new rarity and the marginalization of existing content? Why do we need to obsolete exotic gear?
I am real happy they are putting what makes MMOs great into this game.
I too love mindlessly grinding 6 hours a day for bigger numbers on my swag sword and needing “XXX DUNGEON APPROVED GIMMICK UPGRADED” gear to do content /sarcasm

I just said the above to contradict the poster While i love the idea of dynamic dungeons one of the great things about this game was the many paths you could take to gear your character. You could craft it, save up the gold for it, or put rares into the forge for it. I do however see ascended gear being expensive if it’s possible to make it in the forge due to exotics being needed for it, but grinding for gold for a few days on wherever is optimal at the time to level the playing field in WvW can’t hurt.

Please leave and resub to WoW or whatever treadmill garbage you came from. Happytime Panda Adventure couldn’t have been that bad. You can take all of the other unskilled rubbish with too much time to burn who think that entitles them to be better than everyone else with you.
It also puts them on a slippery slope when it comes to a gear treadmill. Which is something ArenaNet has said they wouldn’t implement. So it’s a hit to their image which has been a bit shaky recently.
This right here is what I’m worried about. Also if the new dungeons give better rewards, what happens to the 8 we currently have? Worthless? Only for skins? No longer endgame? What happened to ALL dungeons being endgame with only cosmetic rewards differences? I swear, its like the stat treadmill apologists actually WANT to have been lied to pre-release.

Ab-so-lutely not. Scrap the idea completely or give the ability to convert exotics to ascended via level 80 events / dungeon runs. Guild Wars 2 promised readily attainable max stat gear where the final determining factor is player skill and NOT who goes outside the least like some WoW-tier grindtrash.
I agree. Cut all dungeon monster and boss health pools to 75% and see where that goes. Whether or not you’re going to clear the boss / room or wipe is determined, IMO, a fair bit before the 50% mark, and everything after that is wasted time and boring drivel. But to be safe let’s make it only a 25% reduction.
No. I think it’s an artificial, gimmicky gear gate mechanic that takes skill out of high end PVE turning the game into yet another NEET-pandering WoW/Lineage/RO grindfest where people who are actually bad at the game but have no job or education (and thus TONS of time) get to be the elite.
I like the idea of facing the Mursaat again, but I absolutely detest this idea of a new rarity and hope whoever suggested it is taken off of the development team and put on bugfixes, release coordination, and/or community PR (posting here). The direction this seems to be going in leads to trivialization of player skill and the death of the game.

We need a QOL buff. Moving while attacking alone would go so far for all of them.
Please don’t implement gear gimmick gated dungeons.
Please don’t implement new rarity tiers.
Please don’t marginalize the existing dungeons and shrink the endgame from 8 dungeons to 1 by leaving the rewards of the original dungeons in the dust.
Please don’t make the exotics people worked for worthless.
Please scrap agony as a condition — it is a gimmick meant to remove skill from PVE and reward time invested — GW2 was not created as (if you are to be believed) or sold as this kind of NEET-pandering WoWtrash.
Please don’t create a never-ending mindless stat treadmill
Please keep the game based around PLAYER SKILL in all aspects including PVE and WvW instead of who has the most time to grind the same new dungeon 100 times in a week.
Please don’t ruin the game.
I’m in a similar situation on Maguuma. I head a thirty man World vs World guild and have been in the position of leading quite a few groups around on Maguuma even in spite of an icon thanks to how dedicated and tight-knit our community is. If you want to win your WvW matchups by strategy and teamwork instead of (or maybe alongside, in the future) numbers, consider grabbing a transfer onto scenic Maguuma before Anet shuts them down.
Come to scenic Maguuma, where our WvW community shares a 200 man Mumble server with a friendly atmosphere.

Badges need to auto-loot straight from bags. Read: teleported into your inventory.
They also need to adjust the drop rate or maybe change the way they drop, but not drastically increase their number or cut armor prices. Exotic Invader’s weapons however need to take a severe price dive OR receive unique skins. As is they are priced like prestige skins when they are using a skin you can pick up for a couple thousand karma in the same area.
The armor needs to stay rare though, or everyone will be decked out in their favorite pieces within a month or two. It’s prestige armor. PVP prestige armor. It should be hard to earn and shout “HEY EVERYONE, I’M KIND OF A BIG DEAL. A LOT OF PLAYERS DIED FOR THIS ARMOR!”
Come to Maguuma instead. We have a 200 slot Mumble server available for use by any Maguuma players / guilds. It receives heavy use, and all of our notable WvW guilds use it to coordinate on some level.

There needs to be a tertiary defensive stat akin to critical damage or maybe condition damage, but I don’t know where Anet would put it. IMO the best would be condition duration as a defensive stat, making conditions and crowd control applied to you have lower duration.
… Instead of character claimed on. At least for the silver portion of the reward. Currently daily rewards should NEVER be completed on an alt, solely because it will cost you a couple silver (which eventually adds up). Change daily rewards so that if you have a level 80 you will always get the full reward in silver. Ditto for monthly rewards.
What time do you guys usually queue?
We usually have parties going during daytime east coast (noon-4), then get heavy guild activity again around 8 PM or so when people are done eating and such. Generally though you can find someone to run with.
Back up again. We’re up to 20 active and running WvW parties almost every night, let’s get a bit higher.
All rewards are susceptible to our code that is dealing with people who are speed clearing dungeons. If you find yourself getting less rewards consider whether or not your rate of dungeon completion is extremely high. This did not get reset with the patch.
If you think you are running at a fairly reasonable pace post all of the chains you have run and the times to complete and we will file it to try and figure out if it is a bug. Please post accurate times, otherwise we cannot determine if there are in fact bugs in the system.

Why is the system even in place now that the major exploits are fixed? Why are you punishing people for being better at the game than others?
Look people, mounts would be an equalizer if they gave out of combat speed plus swiftness. That’s plenty fast to make a difference and not enough to trivialize the game.
And if you really want to say I’m wrong, consider this:
Multiple professions have access to 100% uptime on swiftness. Some have an approximation (thief signet). Others don’t. If you are really against mounts because they’d be “too fast” then I guess we’d better take away that signet and nerf warrior + engineer so they can’t maintain 100% uptime on swiftness anymore.
Several times I have seen mesmers offering in map chat to portal people from the entrance of obby sanctum straight to the end. Does Anet consider this an exploit / bad behavior? I personally accept portals when they’re offered, but what’s the official stance on using portals to whisk allies through PVP jumping puzzles?
I support compulsory PVP to get legendary weapons, which means I support the gift of battle and the inclusion of the WvW zones in 100% map completion. People too afraid to face human opponents, in my opinion, do not deserve legendary weapons. Legendaries are meant to show mastery of the game, which happens to include two very prominent kinds of PVP with a third supposedly on the way. Pure PVEers have not, and will never “master” GW2, so they should not get legendaries.
Ignore the fact that I’m willing to put in more effort than you are to acquire a legendary,
No. You’re not. You are only willing to fight predictable, scripted AI for your legendary. You are not willing to deal with the unpredictable nature of hostile players or the variables at play with their gear, traits, and skill build. For your legendary you are only willing to fight enemies whose exact stats, abilities, and behavior can be looked up in a wiki. I’m willing to do that. I’m willing to 100% the map, get 200 skill points, and enough karma for a legendary. The difference is that I’m also willing to face unknown, unpredictable opponents that quite literally have minds and goals of their own. I’m willing to kill them until I have 500 badges of honor. I’m willing to 100% complete maps where they might be roving in groups of 50+. Where you get the notion that you’re willing to put in “more effort” by only fighting enemies whose every detail can be googled is beyond me.
Can’t beat Shiro? Can’t beat him quick enough to get the title? Google it, and you’ll find proven solutions for basically every profession in the game (especially if you’re E/ME). Can’t beat a dungeon? Video guides, wiki strategies, maps, etc. Can’t find a vista/poi/heart? There’s a website for that. Having trouble with a tricky DE? There’s probably something on that too. Can’t beat a player or a specific build used by players? Huh. Guess you’ll have to think for yourself. You can try asking on forums, but there’s no guarantee the people answering will be as experienced with your profession in that matchup as you are, and it might be that their suggestion isn’t reliable or the best way to do it. There is a reason PVP titles are valued higher than PVE titles in the HOM, and there’s a reason PVP is and should be required for legendary weapons.
