I read the recipe for it and was like OK, this will take some work…. and right now I’m not sure I’ll be online during Halloween as my parents are traveling from the UK over here to Australia and as I haven’t seem them in two years I don’t think they’d be impressed if I was online a lot during their visit! Looks like I’ll be saving up PDQ.

Just a question regarding this item.

I haven’t been a GW2 player during any of the past Halloween events and I am really keen to get hold of this item. I’m saving up to buy one from the TP, but yeah I keep finding other ways to blow my money LOL, but I’ve noticed that there are like only 4 available. Will this item become re-craftable during Halloween, or is it really a case of buy it asap?

Thanks Akkeros for that information. I have some super minis and a few of the hawks/ravens etc. I’m not too bothered at destroying the bird type ones as I am not a fan of them!

Does anyone know if there is any point holding on to account bound mini’s that you have multiples of? I have quite a few that are gathering space and I don’t know if I should delete or wait in the of chance they become usable either in the forge or to sell.

I hope you find someone more reliable to do the quests. It can be hard knowing when to pay for help, before/after the event but there are a lot of players out there who can be trusted and are really fair. You just copped a kitten head. Hope you get it resolved.

Ouch. I feel for you, but I’d seriously recommend removing his name from your post before a mod does it for you.

I did Teq yesterday and beat him. I of course am not saying I soloed him lol, but I was really fortunate to have been on a map where the people who knew what they were doing were really kind, thoughtful and took the time to explain what to do and when.

I’ll say right now I had only ever done Teq a handful of times before and that is more with me not using an event timer so I really never knew when it was going on, and if I did I was usually in the middle of something else.

They pointed out the crit spot, told us to clear poison and were generally nice people. There was no flaming, no name calling, just all of us working to the same goal.

It was yesterday about 5.15 pm yesterday (Friday) in Australia, so no idea what time anywhere else (sorry)

I know we can’t name people on here, but there were two people who were just really amazing and if I see them in game I will be thanking them for their calmness and wit, and making Teq a really enjoyable experience.

I think the more I read these forums the more I wish I hadn’t. I want to enjoy the game, after all we are all players of a great game. I shouldn’t think before I help a downed player ‘is this the person that told me to go and burn to death’ on the games forum.

In my line of work I’d get a few threats and comments (prison service) but you know that’s life. I don’t expect that on a gaming forum. I’m all for debates but right now maybe the community needs to stick to the game mechanics not real life.

Sorry Miku I thought I read it that Anet were holding off on refunding due to gems being spent. It was early in the morning when I read that.

Any updates on this? Seems a little unfair if you used some of the gems. I blew the 4000 gems in just a few hours so even though I’m happy with the extra slot I’m not going to try and confuse some poor CS person by asking for a refund!

I was about to make a post with this very issue. (Thank you search feature for working) The blue icon was far easier to see. Please think about reverting to the old icon.

I thought it was very well done too, although I had a mini breakdown as I was going for 48/50 and inadvertently swapped weapons and lost the gun. Oh and I love the lighthouse in LA. Really gorgeous.

Every time I think maybe the real world isn’t so bad, I come back to topics like this and it’s why I go bury my head in the game again. What a nice world where I don’t have to field BS all the time about my orientation being ‘a challenge’ and told maybe someone should sexually violate me to change it (too late, someone tried that) or where a verb to describe a state the mental illness I’ve struggled with for 20 years causes isn’t constantly misused as some sort of sick joke against “SJWs” or where my disabilities don’t make me ‘worthless’ as both a human being and a woman. And hey, there are characters who represent some of that. They’re normal. Not special snowflakes. Not worthy of gobs of attention because of it. Normal.

Look, this NPC is a minor drip in a bucket that made transfolk happy when they noticed. That’s it. That’s all she is. Some NPC who is trans and gets treated as perfectly normal instead of a freak of nature. I’m not trans, this doesn’t promote any personal agenda, it was just a nice thing. Hey, in Tyria, no one cares if you’re trans, sweet right? Being yourself can be hard but it’s okay, you’re accepted, you’re wanted, you’re valuable. That is a darn good message to give, even through a NPC who doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme.

I’ve always find the concept of “coming out” annoying and absurd. In an ideal world such a thing should not even exist. Nonetheless it does, for a variety of reasons, and sadly the expectation of having to “come out” if you are gay it’s just a minor part of all the problems that come in hand with our sexuality. The fact remains that being a homosexual is attached to all kind of (extra) negative experiences through life, that should not exist in the first place. We are just people, and while some might not make an issue out of stares of disgust, angry comments on the street, and/or other kind of expressions, others are affected very deeply by this, it feels like being kicked on the nuts even while you are down.
I say this because I’ve read some comments on people saying that having the trans NPC, more than anything, brings more problems, its unnecessary, inflammatory, etc. And I can see why you would think that, in a different world I’d even agree with you, but right now, in the reality that we live in, acting like the problem doesn’t exist will do nothing to solve it, and so, such little things, like adding the trans NPC or having one of the developers of the game making the Points of Interest videos or something being homosexual, has the opposite effect of the “kick in the nuts when you are down”, it’s the nice reminder that there are people who not only accept you, but that are willing to endure the angry/disapproving comments of some of their customers just to tell you, in their own way, its ok =). So yeah, it’s a pretty nice gesture.
Anyway, I’m off to bed, I guess I just want to say thanks to Anet, it really does mean a lot!

I had to do the whole CO thing so many times to the usual ’OMG I had no idea you were gay/lesbian, when did it happen?"

It never did happen, I was never in a closet – but unfortunately society makes people feel as if they are and if they need to stay hidden away.

To be honest I’ve never had an issue with the content in GW /GW2 or people in game. I and probably many others wouldn’t even have been aware of this NPC if not for this thread. And while I detested the bad writing / gushing love story in LS I think it is great to see ‘positive’ representations of gay/lesbian/ trans people in game.

The only thing about this topic i can say is “The Road to hell is paved with good intentions” while people want to celebrate this NPC, it is only having the knock on effect of bringing these differences up and making them more visible when in reality, it shouldn’t be! It’s the opposite effect of what the end desire is!

But, actually in reality, being LGBT does make you “visible” and a lot of the attention you attract — especially as a trans man or woman — is negative. Even if strangers on the street don’t know your orientation or past history, lots and lots of people involved in your life do, and trans folks routinely encounter discrimination, abuse, and violence as a result.

A bit of positive visibility, even if it’s rather tokenistic, can be a nice little balm. There’s literally no downside.

Even walking down the street with your partner can be enough to get looks and comments, and I’m not even talking about walking hand in hand (something I don’t do) Sure it depends where you live. I’ve lived in big cities around the world and never had an issue. Now I find myself in a very small rural town. I’ve never been ashamed of who I am or who I love, but it certainly gives you cause for concern just going out and doing everyday normal things wondering if you are going to be verbally abused or worse.

And, I’m sorry, for your loss, and I apologise if I misinterpreted what you said.

The word has always been a negative tone towards LGBT because the base definition of being “strange, odd”.
