Just to get this out of the way, I play as a Warrior, and have all ascended or exotic gear (almost fully ascended). My problem is, I seem to go down a lot compared to other people. I used the metabattle site for the Dungeon Warrior build and I have watched Nike stream and his youtube videos. I dont understand how he basically is always running full health. He barely every takes any damage. What am I doing wrong or what am I missing when it comes to avoid being damaged so severely all the time?

Sorry if there is info on this already somewhere but I could not find anything. Thanks for any help.

lol, those guys from DnT can do dungeons with their eyes closed and also they always go with a PERFECT team for the dungeons, it’s not good to use them as a comparision.

I don’t really know what your talking about. This game follows the same model as all the others; you kill stuff, they drop things and many of those things are mats or stuff you can convert into mats.

You are not playing the same game as everyone else then.

It’s a bit hard to say here without actually having hands-on time with them.

One thing to note is that the Guardian has benefited in 2 areas in which it had nearly 0 practical capability:

a) ranged attacks
b) condition damage

and improved our limited CC potential.

So perhaps while the chronomancer has the better/most effective skillset, the DH increases our range of options the most.

I agree. And I also mention this in the video that the Guardian gains a ton of damage and soft CC in the way of cripples with the Bow but really their winning factor over the Mesmer is their virtues. The virtues open up a larger way to play such that it almost makes up for the DH traits not being so creative in my opinion.

I’ve faced them as a warrior, guardian and ranger. I’m new to PvP but i have like 100 games already.

Mesmers:

A lot of HP
50 clones that make the screen a mess
1 hit takes 10k damage
evade all my hits, this is ridiculous, they evade like non-stop ALL MY HITS
stealth

Necros:

2 bars of HP
condition damage is non-stop, and there is so much you can do before running out of defenses against conditions
a lot of HP
so much toughness that makes guardians a joke

Nerf those classes a little, this is beyond unbalanced and unfair against other classes.

My main problem with mesmers are the clones, like, i really can’t see where the real one is, it’s so confusing.

Against eles the main problem is, i die almost instantly when they see me.

Same situation here my friend, i’m very new to PvP and i’m just returning to the game after 10 months.

Before i used only to play some WvW and do some roaming (as PvP practice) with my condition warrior, it went quite well tbh, i could kill people very easily with that warrior, but it was 1vs1, and zerg in WvW is zerg.

But this PvP is just, ouch, i get destroyed in seconds by two professions and i really think they are overpowered, Elementalist and Mesmer.

The thing is, after getting destroyed 3 times in a row by a zerg out of nowhere, you start to lose the will to continue playing. It doesn’t matter if you have 25k vitality of 3.5k toughness, those two classes can kill me in seconds, it’s amazing and infuriating at the same time.

So, i did not know that you could die in 2 hits from an Elementalist and Mesmer. Even with 3.5k toughness or 25k vitality, you still die INSANELY quick against those classes/professions.

How do i survive against those two professions?

I’m very new to PvP, and it’s kinda hard to try to play more when you can’t even land a hit in someone because you die so fast. I’m playing as a Ranger and Guardian.

you don’t have to grind anything. just play the game how you like. full exotic gear is strong enough for the content and very easy to get.

now ofc if you need ascended gear or badly need a legendary, you’ll have to “grind” for it.

How is exotic gear “very easy” to get?

PvE only asks for berserk gear, and a draconic chest piece with PPF costs 5G, berserk gear is the second most expensive, how is that easy to get?

Do yout think people will run dungeons with you if your character is using rares? Really? Even in guilds people don’t go with you if you are using rares, plus you don’t want to go with rares for dungeons, because rare gear is horrible in dungeons.

Not going to lie, yes and yes.

Full damage traits and gear (power/precision/ferocity) is still the way to go if you manage to survive that way (which is nothing more than practice.)

Rangers are not in the worst position (they’re not Necromancers) but are indeed often overlooked in teams because other classes can do it better or work together better. In organized groups you’ll generally see 2x Elementalist, 1x Warrior, 1x Thief, 1x Guard/Mesmer because it has the needed support (Swiftness, Stealth, Reflects, Stability) and damage (Vulnerability, Might, Fury, Banners)

In unorganized groups a Ranger can fulfill a decent DPS-buffer with Spotter/Frost Spirit (more or less over either a Warrior or a second Elementalist) but there’s still quite a lot of Ranger-hate and people being misinformed, which will mean a group would easily kick a Ranger, yet run 3x Warrior despite it being less effective.

Ranger life is possible, but it won’t be easy. Despite them being in a relatively good position now-a-days (some personal damage buffs.)

PS: Only in Dungeons/Fractals can people really kick you for playing a class you like. In open-world no-one should care or judge… For just casual play (maybe even the occasional, relaxed dungeon run with a friendly social guild) you should be fine. Don’t let the elitist get to you.

You see, i will maybe go for dungeons and fractals, but only if i can find a very friendly and patient guild, my last experience with random people in dungeons and fractals were horrible, but i was forced to do with random people since i don’t have friends and i couldn’t find a guild in that time.

So, should i go zerk instead of condition with my ranger in solo PvE?

So, it’s been 10 months i think since my last log in. Now i want to return to the game but i’m not thinking in going hardcore you know (going for dungeons and fractals) because i almost had an ulcer with the amount of stress. I just want to explore the world and kill some mobs here and there and have fun with other people killing champions and doing some events and i just want to know if full DPS it is still the way to go in PvE and if people still don’t like rangers.

I’m thinking in going back to GW2 because i’m really bored of any other games out there, but the problem is, i’ve left this game like 8 months ago i think, i don’t even remember now.

I just want to know how hard is to find people to do dungeons and how hard is to gain gold, i had a lot of problems to find decent people to play and to acquire a decent amount of gold and i’ve left this game without a cent on my 2 chars, yes, i donated all my gold and all my items in that time (GoE, a lot of T6 materials, a ton of lodestones and food and a lot of stuff).

Did they nerfed the dungeons or something? The new LFG tool is useful or you need to use that site to find people to play?

Do people still ask for players with 5k AP and full ascended gear to do dungeons?

Why would they give karma direct to your account, when you used the vials/sips/tastes/jugs to get karma. That wouldn’t solve the problem. They’re going to reimburse you with jugs(or other variety of Karma) so that you can reuse them and get the karma with the booster buff on.

No, it’s good the way it is, i’m using my warrior for condition and it’s working very nice, don’t change. It’s so fun to see people running from me when they see that i’m not dying because of my high armor and i’m inflicting tons of condition on them.

Seriously, stop bringing zerg and lagfests, improve the Dynamic Events, put more DEs in the game and change the rewards of the DEs.

On FoTM you can get pristine relics and relics. 10 pristine relics gives you the chance to acquire ascended rings, also, 10+ you have chance do gain ascended rings (i got 6 or 7 and my fractal lvl is 22). With relics you can buy the backpiece and with those special vials and globs and shards, you can create a ascended backpiece instead of spending 80 gold or more buying 250 vials of powerful blood for that book. With relics you can buy those 20 slot boxes instead of spending 12-20gold on the TP ones.

Why are you comparing FoTM with champion farm? Doesn’t make sense.

I know, there is like no one there sometimes, and when you create a group, it takes like 30min or more to ONE person join you.

Try to watch a video on YT on path 1 and then join a group asking for experienced players, otherwise you will never find a group to do this dungeon.

Also, i think after this pavilion thing, we will have more groups for this dungeon, you can gain charged cores or even charged lodestones from this dungeon anyway.

The problem is that I have 80 long time ago and 7,1k AP with only 1 character and I want every profession with 80 lvl because then it’s easier in many things like doing arena or puzzles.

lol, this colesy. The guy really loves zerk gear. I agree with you, zerk is amazing for PvE and it is way more effective, but i don’t find it fair that only one type of gear could do all the job needed against mobs, i think there should be a balance in this case.

Some people can’t afford zerk gear, ohters maybe don’t feel very secure going glass canon.

You gain 80c? 1s? and 200-300 karma? It’s pathetic and disgusting to spend time doing something, killing mobs or trying to hit a risen ship with catapults (Sparkfly Fen DE) to get rewarded with crap.

There is no place to farm, you need to join a zerg on Cursed Shore or maybe Frostgorge Sound (to farm champions) or run dungeons, AC all paths + CoF P1 and P2 will give you more than 6.5g per day, i think it is good enough if you are not a hardcore player (i’m not one either). AC and those 2 paths on CoF are ridiculous EASY to do.

What? All i see is Warriors here and there in the game, seriously, doing insane amount of dmg and a lot , a LOT of people playing Warriors, what are you talking about?

All i see is people asking for warriors, and they do a great job.

Till i couldn’t find a guild only focused on dungeon/FoTM or more focused on this, they all say the same thing, but when you join, you end up seeing that almost no one wants to run dungeons, it is annyoing. The few ones focused on dungeons, are elitist.

I agree with this thread, what’s the point having few level 80 if only 1 character can be rewarded from dungeons. So the more I create characters the less profit I can get. It means I can only spend my profit on 1 character per day.
Please Arenanet, make the daily dungeon reward for each character and not via account.

The Goonies on Fort Aspenwood are friendly and reasonable. We have some people who do dungeons and fractals, but honestly it is still often hard to get a group together. We don’t have any requirements to be in our guild, other than not being a jerk. Our officers all really enjoy helping people. We have several guild missions a week and organized activities almost every day. We are casual gamers and our number 1 priority is making this game fun for our members. If you can handle that, we may be the guild for you.

I’m looking for a guild focused on PvE/Dungeons/FoTM and that does guild missions too, but till now i still couldn’t find one. I joined 9 guilds already that said they were focused on dungeons and such, just to discover that they were not, like, 60-70 on-line and when i ask for dungeons/fotm, no one available, this many times, also, some people asking “what is FoTM?” “never done a dungeon” …….like, seriously? How could you advertise that your guild is dungeon/FoTM focused if you let people who don’t even know what they are, join?

And the worst part is the requirements of some guilds, they want players with 8 toons lvl 80 full ascended, a bunch of titles and i would not be surprised if they ask for a legendary.

I’m lvl 22 on FoTM, and i just want to continue because of the ascended backpiece and the pristines (because some fractals are extremely annoying and the reward is meh), for my alts, well, for my alt, a lvl 45 warrior.

You see, i’m new to the game, i have 680 hours in my main, guardian, i have full exo and ascended but people just asking too much, new players are doomed to rely on PUGs because you don’t meet the 15k AP and 5000 hours or whatever they ask you.

How do i find a guild with friendly and reasonable people? Why so much hate against new players?

- Dungeons and FoTM (heavily focused on this)

- Guild missions

Also, that do not require the player to have 8 toons lvl 80 full ascended and 15k AP or a legendary for each toon too.

I can represent 100% and i want to help people as well.

But i need a very, VERY focused guild on dungeons and FoTM and very active too.

I have one char lvl 80 full exo and ascended + a lvl 45 warrior, i’m kinda new to the game, i have FoTM lvl 22.

I’m tired of PUGing, and today was kittening horrible. I was doing AC and in the end of the P2 the leader of the party started to hit Ghost Eater to bring him close to the traps (that were empty) to fill faster, ok, it was smart but he wakittenting everyone and it was kinda messy, also, i said: “wtf are you doing?” and he said: “kitten noob” insted of warning me and the others about the method he was wanting to do. But is so hard for people to communicate with others, those kitteners morons of GW2LFG are always like that, also, he had 11k AP so i think this was one of the reasons of his arrogance.

Anyway, i’m tired of relying on PUGs, i’m member of a guild but they are very dead in dungeon and fractal, but they are nice in other things. I already joined 8 guilds that said they were focused on dungeons/fractals, only to discover that they were not.

What i need/want is a organized group for dungeons or a invite for a guild, PLEASE. i beg for this, i’m a good listener and i experinced with AC and CoF (lol, i know…) but i listen and i always watch a video guide before doing any new dungeon.

Ok, so, i’m trying to resolve those lags and disconect issues with the support. I used that PingPlotter program and the program showed packet loss, but the incredible thing is, i don’t have any issue outside of the game, i can watch 1080p videos easy on YT, or trough streaming, i don’t have any error on my internet connection, like, i checked the router information, i checked on test websites and even trough the CMD/PROMPT and i don’t have any packet loss, my ping is good/great, no jitter, NOTHING!

Why am i having this packet loss only on GW2??
