Top servers are good, but have ques. That is the thing you have to be prepare to deal with.

I could not tell you why you find it to be boring. It’s personal and this game is not for everyone to enjoy.
I enjoyed it leveling together with a good friend and after we were done enjoying WvW. I did all my chars like that.
I hope the beta test will include the wvw too. The flyby is nice and it does show some nice features. But the eotm parts with bridges I dont care for much. But perhaps it’s more 3d oriented for defenders to protect their bl.

Well you should be fighting for objectives open field is fun at all but often pointless unless its for an objective. You do understand wvw is not a death match game right?
Open field zerg fights, for me, is the most fun part of wvw.
This looks more like fear monkeys heaven. But to be honest I’ve seen so little of the map it would be wise to keep an open mind about it.
Meh, dont know yet. Some parts I already dont like. And there are other desert types than drytop/silverwaste dear artists.
Other parts look kinda awesome, but I am not sure if I like so many ways to fear people of a bridge or cliff.

I got 10k ap, and there are lots of lower than me that are a lot better in every part of the game. AP is something you dont have to do much for, no indication of skill.
I would hate to be on a server like sfr. If you want to see why I think that, just go see chemsory stream when his team rungs through a borderland, They got no competition at all, almost by autoattacking and stacking they can roll a map. :/

Well even a thief alone cannot stop the 3:1 outnumbered when he has this buff. A small zerg walking all over a BL without anything able to touch them doesnt sound like a good way to enjoy wvw either. So perhaps I would like that 25% boost of the thief so he or she would be able to make a difference against a small zerg.
A ranger (full exotic armor) doesn’t stand a chance in WvW when my server obviously does not do WvW. Enemy heavy armors and thieves have too much on a lone ranger (NO PUN INTENEDED). They were in OUR territory and there wasn’t enough of us to defeat them. Like, maybe 5 of us.
I absolutely give up on map completion.
I hope you all are right that WvW will be removed from the WC requirements with HoT.

Want to know why multiple omega golems + a blob zerg is OP? They make T3 waypointed keeps defense useless and capping it in a matter of minutes, with scout having to run responding to all gates and walls to check their presence taking the precious seconds away by having to confirm to the main force on other maps etc.
Do you know how much time and dedication we have to give for T3 keeps? It takes hours! And there comes the jealous foes with zergs and omega golems taking it away in a matter of minutes, immense difficulty in taking down those omegas.
Hence, this is why I believe omegas with huge zergs is OP, they can melt gates in less than a minute without having a way to counter it when sieges are already taken out by the omegas on the wall.
PLUS with eles pressuring meteors and mesmers pulling you on the walls, odds are stacking up against defenders. Think about it anet.

From beta I have this problem, and with me lots of other people. Not once did I see Anet respond to this. It’s getting pretty sad that problems like these are ignored so long.

One of the things I am worried about, also does it need a target or can it be shouted. That would be the end of shadow refuge so I guess and hope not.
And does it need line of sight or not.
Is is mathematical impossible to let all servers change colours on refresh? I have not met anyone yet who loves to be the same colour every week.

Meh… I tend to support the casters/youtubers who’ve actually stuck around with the game since launch and are also covering the expansion.
Flying from game to game doing reviews that don’t really do the MMO genre justice isn’t really my cup of tea.
Sorry if I’m being too sour, but I remember OP distinctly from back before GW2 launched. It was all that, then suddenly dead and left untouched, until all of a sudden now attention again when an expansion is on the horizon…

I’m pretty terrible at melee, distance is my friend. So ranger is one of my first chars to go into WvW, and it still is one of my favorites.
So many bugs still in the game, they just do not care.. At all.
Annoying falling bug, yep still present.
Replace teq with gw2 and you will describe this game perfectly.
I’m not sure about the more torment skills either, I already hate this condition with a passion, only rivaled by confusion. I just dont like conditions that stop you from attacking or stop you from moving. It’s not very fun in a game.
I guess then you wouldnt like gw1. It had a ton of amazing and really annoying to deal with hexes (debuffs). And the conditions in this game are a mere shadow of the greatness that hexes were in gw1.
Gwamm here, I loved gw1. My favorite game ever. But in gw1 you know you were dead meat without hex removal, that is why every team had monks. But they are gone from the game, we can deal with some conditions, but even more?

I’m all for Master Togo, he’s not just a GW1 hero but also ritualist, and I’d like skills like that. Guessing there’ll be 2 underwater legends – anyone has ideas? (I only see The Leviathan listed in this thread, unless pirates and margonites count as sufficiently sea-bound)
Master togo yes, get stuck behind every little thing on a map and fail the missions.
Ogden, be useless all the time and stand in every lava pool I can find on a map.
The revenant looked realy fun to play. But lots of things kept me wondering, I mean I dont want to be doing 80 damage to 10.000.000 million health point foes. I hope the event scaling and the terrible way it works right now will also be looked at.
And that dragon fight does not look fun at all, nobody likes to be thrown off all the time. I would just leave those annoying fights.

It’s so redundant and contradictory to how the class plays.

The whole point of my comparison was to illustrate that it’s possible to flip everything regardless of your matchup. Yeah, it sucks that some matchups are steamrolls and the PvE scrub on the winning server can complete his map completion in a day, while the other two servers fight tooth and nail for theirs. But those matchups do not last forever, and just because you can’t get something this matchup doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get it the next.
I don’t expect you to take a sick day to get a vista, nor do I expect you to stay up until 4 AM, but WvW is not fair or balanced. Just get creative. Get some friends to stealth you, then all you need to do is open whatever structure you need. You don’t have to actually cap anything. Like Rimmy said, if you come into WvW and expect to have anything handed to you, you’d better think again. I kill map completionists all the time without remorse. You want that vista? Take it by force.
I guess we’re going to have to just agree to disagree. If you and above company honestly believe that you can snake a 24/7 babysat tier 3 keep sieged to the hilt with a way-point that gets all-called the instant anyone is even in sight, I extend an open invitation to transfer to my player barren server so you can show us how to McGuyver-style disarm the equivalent of a nuke with a tooth-pick and some stale bubblegum. And you can try to do this for a whole month, just as we’ve been in WvW this past month.
A game is supposed to be fun and challenging, not frustrating and impossible. It takes on average 6 months for people on our server to achieve map completion once they decide to do it solely because of WvW’s broken nature. So yes, you can finish it on my server…at a speed of less than 1% that of a much more successful server. And while that’s the way it is because WvW isn’t fair either by design or ineptitude, that doesn’t make it right.
Whatever Anet does with WvW with respect to map completion, it needs to be fixed. As I said, the experiences are so disparate between players on different servers even though they play the same game. I understand there will always be players who feel that “its not a right to have a legendary” or “you don’t need one, you merely want one”. But guess what, they paid the same amount of money you did for the game and they can’t access that content in the same way you can solely because they’re on a “wasteland” server. And I (as probably a lot of other people) have a big problem with that.
Well it took me over a month to get all BL mapping done for completion. There was just no way that my position 25 server would open up some others BL garri or even hills or bay. But when the colours shifted I got my completion. IN the end it just takes some time.
I love my condi engi in WvW. It’s easily the worst char I have for large fights, but it is pretty good at small ones.
There must be some modifications to the WvW mechanic that can be done to prevent massive blobs. It just makes it impossible for anyone to defend anything when you get 100 people blobbling and rolling over everything.
What can be done to change this phenomenon?
You want to prevent blobs because they are hard to fight….. but if you had an equally large blob you could fight. On the other hand, if you take 25 people up against 100, shouldn’t the 100 have an advantage?
In battle, numbers matter. And they should.
If they are equally skilled yes, but that 25 man group could easily be better and down 25 themselves. Only to see them auto rezzed and back up on their feet.
Number in wvw matter, not skill.
Removing the aoe cap would be on of the worst things to wvw I think, that is probably not the solution.

No… I’m pretty sure everyone just hates dire P/D because it’s just disgustingly OP with no required skill to play successfully making most people’s efforts playing anything else well feel wasted and dejected.
My server is currently in a horrible place where we’re constantly facing BB and they got like whole guild groups running that kitten, it’s literally only PU mesmers and dire thieves. Someone gave me the oldest advice in the world: “if you can’t beat them- join them” and so I went dire condi thief. It lasted half an hour, I can’t bring myself to play that, it just feels so wrong and lame.
Went back to zerker d/d, I die almost all the time but at least I can look at myself in the mirror with no shame.
But those BB thiefs are really realy bad.
Well that doesn not sound promesing But what if one is in your keep? It might be annoying enough to even kill the lord with so much stealth.
I have the problems with not just my thief, but also on (power)ranger. i wondered if going full condi solves this but they must have pretty good condi cleanse with so much stealth.
Disable combat rezzing. They can still blob and zerg, but small parts of them can be murdered to trim the zerg.
Right now it’s insane, a guild group can rez through several high hitting attacks + multiple siege.Well again remember it can work both ways, if they cant rez, neither can your side. Have to remember its a delicate balancing act.
Also when you say rezzing do you mean down or dead players.
Both down and dead players, because getting downed up is too easy for a large group.
And yes it can work both ways, but if you think about it. Against a large group you are not getting rezzed anyway, you are outnumbered and your teammates are too busy surviving and killing. No time to rez when you are in a small group so I do not think it will change much in that perspective.
perhaps it will not work at all, but from current weeks matchup for my server I see there is something very wrong about combat rezzing.

Secondly the hate is strong because the new longbow ranger has ruined open world roaming and now you always have to consider LOS because should your evades, escapes, gap closers or reflects and oh kitten buttons be on cool down from a pervious fight say good night because there’s nothing you can do except die from someone almost 1800 range.
Bs, they do not ruin anything. Or perhaps you mean they ruin it for invis spamming thiefs, that thought they were invincable. And now it’s the time of rangers to get their revenge.
