Immunity to burning condition

You seem to have missed the part about being immune to burning only “When in or near the Fire Keep”.

This buff is also dependent on controlling all 3? of the fire shrines which are OUTSIDE the keep proper. Very contestable, very ninjable.

Saying this is targeted at classes with burning is like saying the air buff immunity to falling damage is targeted at classes with fear…

Both sound like they are nice on paper, but in the end terrible in a player vs player environment.

If you decide to repeatedly interrupt players that are dueling after it has been made clear they are dueling, you should expect those players to follow you around and ruin your fun as well. Get used to having gates tapped early, areas being siege locked by balista sites, etc.

Not really, because in the end these duelers are egotistical people. They dont care about other people playing the wvw game.

Places that are pretty bad for dueling:

  • On a road that yaks travel.
  • Next to a sentry (see above).
  • Next to a bloodlust spot.
  • Somewhere folks tend to build siege.
  • Real close to a camp that’s getting flipped often whenever both “invader” servers are putting any real numbers on a map.

So, basically, if you’re dueling north of south camp you should expect to get interrupt A LOT.

You can basicly say that wvw is a bad play to duel, there is pvp for a reason. Now I accept the weird duel rules and the places in EB and leave them alone. But the moment someone start to yell at me that I should go and not interfere is the one I am going to harras you all night long, and bring friends if I have to. =)
Dont tell me what to do in this wvw part of the game.

Im pretty sure that outside the trolls I encountered in wvw, I have never seen vulgair language and chat I get annoyed with.

It’s not a gear checked unless you want to. It only gets updated when you logout, and even then it’s a snapshot. If you use an armory as a gear check, you are a complete idiot.

Why? I think people highly overestimate how many people would actually use this feature to see what you’re wearing.

They would have to Minimize the game, go to the guild wars 2 website, go to the armory, search your name, browse your armory and then guess whether the information the server has gathered is up to date or not.

Minimizing the game or using an alternate monitor would be a trivial time expenditure. I don’t really care if people know what I’m wearing or not, but I would prefer to avoid the inclusion of a tool that’s primary use would be to bully or force people to play certain ways.

Just a skin viewer I’m 100% fine with (though it makes more sense to just ask or use the wardrobe to look for yourself)

As far as showing what people have achieved, we already have cheevo points, how would being able to view someones armor/stats help you see what they have achieved?

I can be misused to perhaps what you call bully. But on the other hand I dont care what people think about my chars and builds.
The armory in Diablo has provided me with more help than any bullying, I dont think anyone ever said well thats a crap bow, you cannot come.

It’s a very good idea, like the armoury of Diablo 3. People in multiplayer games like to show what they got and what they achieved.
I like the idea of an online armory a lot, but it would probably require so much of Anets staff. It’s not an easy feature I imagine.

Yeah lag still going on, yesterday my ping jumped from 40 to 1400 when enemy zerg approached in wvw. When spawning, before getting to the enemy, everything was fine.. as soon as I was near enemy, skill lag and rubberbanding started [EU, Aurora Glade]

EU Gunnars, same here. As soon as the larger fights start the lag begins. Nothing to do with my fps, the server just cannot seem to handle something that is going on. Quite easy to see if you made gw2, pretty sure they keep all kinds of monitoring tools right?

I see AG is not falling under the DL hate, we at gunnars getting focussed on because somehow they hate us :P

I love the idea that they added so.ething to draw large battles. From what u have read on the forums, it appears to be exactly what the community has been clamoring for. Something that draws players away from karma train running and influence them to battle. In my opinion, the OP is out of touch with the feedback players have been giving.

And what forum would that be, the general discussion one? On the WvW forum one thing mostly gets mentioned, less pve in our wvw. Not more.

Are you suggest this will not draw players from all sides to fight over it?

That doesn’t have anything to do with the question. Are you suggesting this will not influence players to fight over it?

I am not sure, time will tell if this is one of those things you really need on the map or if it can be ignored because it’s not that good. But another thing that favours high populated servers over lower ones, that is something we certainly do not need.

I have not decided yet if the new shrine objectives and bonussen are worse or better than the current bloodlust one.
It could make it more interesting if they are really well balanced. But with matchups like the picture below it could be also devestating for the non over populated server.

It was almost unplayable yesterday on Gunnars hold EB, insane lag spiken when the zerg fights started. And no it was not always like this. I havent seen this type of lag in way over a year.

Oh come on how can one thief kill 4 players, and do lots of condis and burts like hell?
It could only be that condi dire thief build that keeps on stealthing, and that one does not burst and should not be a problem for 4 players.

We found the source of the problem. Frametime should be back to pre 3/10 patch times.
It was a bit harder to track since the issue only manifested itself on specific hardware configurations.
This thread was of great help to track the problem. Thanks!

If you have ever been hit with 25 stacks of anything you should prob just uninstall, this change will make zero difference to wvw or pvp.

I agree, it wont even matter. For roamers it would be very unlikely to get over 25 stacks.

Just play however you want. Don’t let other players dictate how you play. If you don’t want to defend a t3 keep, by all means, don’t. At the end of the day you’re playing to have fun, and if PPT is not fun for you, don’t do it. Vice versa.

I dont know anyone that doesnt like to defend a fully upgraded keep. It’s one of the most fun fights you can have in WvW imo. Lots of people, lots of chaos. Just love that.

If they fix whatever in the patch is causing this lag the player cap is not needed.
Looks like a lot of thought went to your post, I like most if not all ideas. With the PPK the best of them all, and this should also is the easiest one to implement. Just set it back to “on” again

This thread would have been infinitely more beneficial if the OP simply posted his class and current build. While some damage is excessive in this game, it often comes down to poor play, poor experience, or poor design.

Due to the things he focuses on I can only guess either self-hating power necro or some odd thief variety, probably the latter as the profession is kind of the poster child for getting rear hurt when anyone (especially other thieves) ‘ganks’ them.

— I play a condition necromancer: here is build-

20- 2,4
10-6
10- 5
20- 2,4

I feel necromancer condition is very weak unless in zerg fight. I thought necromancer condition was very strong than all other class condition. I realize that is not true because that thief i was fighting was a condition thief and her condition was doing alot of effect on me: my condition did not even do no effect on her at all.

I use rune: superior rune of krait in armor and sup sig earth in weapon+sup sig corruption.

wut? Condition mancer is kinda useless in a zerg fight, unless it’s to pick off people that are slightly outside the zerg.
And you fought a condi thief, that is not a burst build, it’s the worst build that this game produced, only played by true scum

Have you ever thought that ANet might be trying to make GW2 completely incompatible with SweetFX and GemFX on purpose?

Seeing more of these patches knock out those two might be trying to get a hint across.

Just my 2 cents though.

From my experience on this build in 1v1 situations:

Other rangers – if you get in range with power LB, you win. Condition builds 50/50, unless with sword, that will kill you.

Elementalists – dd cele ele kills you, df and sf should kill you, rest die to you.

Thieves – if you see a thief coming at you, it’s 50/50, if he jumps you, he wins.

Warriors – full zerker that pops Berserker Stance at the beggining should kill you. Every other builds should die. Hambow is annoying, shoutbow cele takes ages to kill.

Necromancers – MM dies to entangle, power builds kill you only in DS or Lich Form. Terrormancer will kill you if you can’t break the fear.

Guardians – I never died to a guardian if I didn’t make a mistake.

Mesmers – dodge the Phantasmal Berserker and you win. If they pop Polymorph Moa they should kill you.

Engineers – turreteer will kill you. Bunkers take ages to kill, but they shouldn’t be a problem.

According to you lots of things kill a condi ranger, yet if I watch Gladomer stream he wins 99% of the fights against the professions you mentioned should kill him(condi immune warrior is the exception, like wilson’s). I dont think I have ever seen him lose from a thief in any fight.

it’s ok OP, I am not very good either. Only difference is i’m not going to suggest weird things like remove burst. People like to burst, they adjust their build accordingly and accept that they themselves can be bursted down.

Nope, i’m experiencing it too for a while. There are 2 situations when it happens:
1. When you drop a trap and swap weapons before you get the stealth, you wont get either of the super speed/stealth.
2. randomly, like you said, you drop it and just keep walking but nothing happens (happens about 1-5% of the time i think)

Anet needs to fix these asap.

You can see it pretty good in your last vid, you mention it yourself in the vid comments. Perhaps Anet has some use from it.

your server becomes number 1 because of ppt, not fights.

But ppk should also count, not just ppt. It wont hurt the top servers much, since they zerg kill anyway. And it would help roamers be even more usefull than they already are.

I do fault anet for making 1111 zerging/outnumber or run/“coverage”/whatever you want to call it tatics good in WvW though.

You do agree with me that a fully upgraded garri should be defended at all costs, so the whol server probably goes there. It should be possible to fight, not just press one and hope something happens. And that what kinda happened since the patch.

ZvZ has always caused lag. I’m really not seeing a large difference between pre and post patch.

On EU servers I am seeing it quite clear. I have not had the skill lag like this since more than a year. Even longer I think. And it started on the night of the stability change patch, not saying thats it. But something in that patch caused major lag for entire servers. Our garri fight was actually abandoned by drakkar lake and abaddons mouth not because we won, but because none of us could do more than press 1 and wait 5 to 10 seconds before something happenend.

We are up against drakkar lake, they seem to have 50+ people on every map
Changing maps wont do anything but loose our bl even faster. They had a 50 people zerg sitting in hills all day yesterday. They love to ppt and waypoint mastery to 100 and waypoint back as soon as they have it. And since they somehow needed to be efficient or something they brought back more golems every time.

So u wanna to ruin fun for 200 ppl( tbh i think there is 50 man blbo moving around all maps tho )? Since u can’t put up enough ppl? Or what? Make ur server put same numbers and everything will be fine And yes i played against DL, we just put numbers during night too and all was fine;). As i wrote if u wanna disable golems, then we might also disable rams during day, cos it is hard for some ppl to defend against it during day

But apparantly we can get magically full supps, and build our golems. So now we have 4 golems and 12 people around it. And this is going to help against 40 with 10+ golems of course. I think your theory sounded better in your head than in practise

Btw. leading this way they should disable rams too, cos it is too hard to defend against them when whole blob is covering rams during day

It is ur fault for too low numbers. Maybe let’s disable WvW from 11 pm to 7 am.?
