I love your screenshot because 99% of the time that’s all what you did. was hide behind fully upgraded guards. You didn’t kill me, you assisted. Good job. You just came in and KSed from a general.

i used skills on 2 different weapons lawl you just used the same 2 skills. Plus if you didnt notice i didnt even move most the time cus i was talkin to someone. Oh and i killed you the guards just used immobilize so you couldnt get away with the sword 2 skill since you ran out of init spamin pistol whip on me.

Bro your auto attack was pistol whip lmfao and i you came in to attack you when you were pistolwhip spaming the dolyak and the guard immbolied you and i killed you when you tried to run off. When i killed sentry and you came i was attacking you and when i hit you, you instantly used the sword 2 skill to shadow step then stealthed and ran off. You did this everytime. So you are lucky you can spam perma stuns and run around and stealth from the first hit you took.

Oh and one more thing the guards arnt upgraded. It was never an open duel when you ran off the first hit and only attacked when i was responding to my pms lawl. Good try tho.

Lol nice try. All you did was stomped me when the general killed me. You weren’t even close to me. Are you claiming that your warrior is as mobile as my thief? Cuz the last time i checked, you were at least 1500+ range away from me. Regarding the Dolyaks, i was trolling at first to get you to fight (obviously you did because once again you only go out there when i have a handicap). Obv I came back srs mode and killed the dolyak. As soon as the guards and dolyaks disappeared, you ran (once again).

Tbh I don’t even know why you’re posting on the forums when you’re full of lies and your stories are so inconsistent. People pming you? I saw you’re screenshot of you hiding behind the upgraded generals and there was no pms whatsoever. Half the battle was at supply camps fully upgraded and hyleks, some took place between our valley and langor and the ending took place at langor’s Sentry. The sentry was the only one that you actually for ONCE out of 30 times? came out and even then you ended up running to langor.

You’re right I did run away and had to recover from when we were at sentry. But that was because by then the sentry respawned and it was you w/ sentry vs me.
I can’t believe you honestly think you stand a chance against me when most of the time you hid behind npcs/towers.

If you were pming someone while we were dueling then how come everytime I’m engaged in battle, you’d run out and meet me in battle? and how come your SS has no pms in it?

Lets be real though, If you honestly thought you can beat me, you should accept my challenge. But you denied it saying you had better things to do. Such as, spending the next 40+ mins arguing w/ me and posting kitten like this on forums.

Thank you, im glad im not the only one having this problem. Before the patch for new maps and fractals, Iinfil Strike worked perfectly but eversince it’s been so buggy sometimes.

I made a set of AC gear after all ( i have killed all other tokens in the Forge ><) and my stats are:

Attack:2305
Crit Change: 56% / Multiplier: 33%
Armor: 2.455
Health: 16.825

Traits : 0/30/0/25/15

I like it alot, the damage is very high compared to warrior or guardian i play.

At some point when i bunch up gear im gonna give glass a shot aswell.

mm For the bolt, i think the sword is pretty alright.. Wasn’t fond of it but it’s growing onto me. But!!! the lightning aura is so dam sexy!! You’ll definitely get recognition if you’re a good thief. But it depends if you like to play sword as a thief though.

-remove downed state (or remove the skills and make it 50% health on default)
-Guild ranking and player ranking among your servers please
-Need better rewards because if i wanted the gears, i can just do dungeons for the same stats. Invaders gears don’t necessarily have the best looking skin.
-There should be some new designs for new terrains around the map to make open field battles become guerilla warfare.
-There should be more then one person manning the seiges (except golems). These are some really heavy artilliries.. Can one person srsly one man a catapult, ballista, or treb irl?
-Eternal BG and BLs are fine but I feel like it’s time for new WvWvW maps (replace em or add em, it doesn’t matter).
-It’s always about capping. Why can’t there be another way to earn points? Such as a map exclusively for Deathmatches or something like that. I was always neutral about capping but it gets really repetitive eventually. (which is why i dont touch spvp)

You can camp the spawn…? Aren’t there two other exits?

First question is Yes, if you’re infront of our spawn point with multiple ballistas and arrow carts, then I believe that’s camping. Maybe I’m wrong.
Second question: No there are 4 exits. Mag BL, CD BL, EBay BL, and Lion arch.

Oh you mean two different entrances in EB? Oh sure, we can either go and start left to danelon or north to umberglade.

To the E-BAY thief with Bolt from the Aeternia ( sp? ) guild, your teleport/speed hacks spanning 1600+ range were extremely obvious. I hope that the people on your server do the right thing and report you.

To the Crystal Desert player that couldn’t kill me unless i put myself in suicidal situations, You suck and I wasn’t hacking. Go look up thieves. And yes we all know, Haste is pretty hax.

Stop camping our spawn. It’s clear who the real noob is. And if you actually reported me.. that’s just freaken sad.

Back on subject, Mag and EBay was doing just fine till an hour ago and CD just zerged everything. hours of efforts wasted.

u know what’s funny about this topic? An average thief with (benefit of the doubt) average skills, using average utilities is feeling top sht because he’s surviving in some dungeons and feels like he carries the whole party. The spec you’re running with may work for you and your playstyle but please, don’t judge other playstyles like you know everything (because you clearly don’t).

oops srry bout that i kinda messed up. I meant a mesmer has really good mobility/survivability while in combat. But for sure if we’re talking about running away or getting to point a to point b then the only class i would say that can keep up is an ele. But once you know how to use a thief, it’s pretty much game over.

Or you can join my guild. Dungeons are the best to get 80 exotics hands down if you don’t have money. You get exp/money/karma/ and badges (to use on the gears).

Infiltrators strike and shadow step are 2 hands down best skills in the game. More so infiltrators strike, an ability that teleports you too your enemy, immobilizes them, then after you kill them/or get in over your head, lets you teleport back AND remove conditions. If you think this is worthless I feel terribly terribly bad for you.

You are awesome. I don’t use shadow step at all though (since there’s infiltrator’s strike). But hey, they probably couldn’t understand the survivability/mobility of it, so went to ez mode stealth.

Deadly traits is alright.
Critical traits are okay
Acrobatics are pretty nice
Trickery is pretty nice as well

Shadow arts traits is just crazy imba glyphs imho. You get rewarded while in stealth? regen while stealth, gain more initiative while stealth gain, 15 seconds of might when stealth? That’s just crazy and nonsense imo. That’s why decent players can’t kill some of us, once we stealth, we can remove conditions, re heal everything, regain all our initiatives and are ready to go for round 2+3+4 and so on.

Once upon a time there was this MMO Ragnarok Online that was pretty popular. In their cloaking system, while under cloak you slowly lose your mana, you walk slower (so you had to trait to walk faster), and once ur hit then you become uncloaked.

What I’m trying to say is that there should be pros and cons to thieves/assassins/rogues (w/e you wanna call em) when they are stealthed. Seems like the stealth system in GW2 is that you have everything to gain using stealth and nothing to lose.

Thieves should (have to) give something up for the ultimate reward (which is stealthing).

Seriously need more weapon selections for Thieves….
d/d, d/p, p/d is too much ez mode (with stealthing)
s/d main burst dmg skill (flanking strike) needs work
s/p auto attack does more then P/W and Headshot is just useless
Shortbow is freaken awesome tho!

Okay I’m pretty sure it’s been stated before but I’ll say it again.

ShortBow – Nerf on Cluster bomb kinda ticked me off, but I don’t realize a BIG difference since I use it for survivability 70% of the time. I Believe Infiltrator’s Strike should have only 5 initiative cost or a slightly longer range. When using haste with disabling shot the range to evade backwards is bugged and that should be fixed. Other then that, I am very proud of Arenanet for making our Shortbow have unique skills.

Pistols/Pistols – Decent for kiting in pve but it’s pretty bad. The dps is pretty below average and some of skills are horrible. There should be some sort of other survibility skill other then black powder (such as, a dodging skill). To compesate for the low dps, unload should only have 4 initiative, and auto attacks should at least hit faster (it IS double pistols). If double pistol’s got the same attack speed as the pistol/dagger then there’s something wrong there…

pistol/dagger and dagger/pistol is fine as is.

dagger/dagger – The range on HS should seriously be reduced or raise the initiative cost.

Sword/Pistol – Like stated earlier from many thieves, P/W doing less then Auto attack was a horrible mistake. The utility Shadow Step has a range of 1200, why not give Infiltrator’s strike 1200 range as well? Headshot is only meant to interrupt therefore the damage is very low, BUT the initiative cost for headshot is so high and the range is laughable. Really hoping they fix headshot or something. When i think of headshot, i think of insta kill.. lol What I don’t understand is that a dagger offhand is melee and a pistol is ranged, yet a S/D has throwing dagger that does good dps and a pistol that does 1/4 daze with high initiative costs…

Sword/Dagger – I love the concept of it. But flanking strike needs some work done to it. The animation needs to be faster and the auto tracking needs to be fixed. the game screwing you over putting you in a weird position just destroys a s/d gameplay. Flanking strike damage is also kinda low… considering the fact that you have a sword as main hand..

I’m kind of saddened that there aren’t really much weapon options for thieves

pistol whip and haste? with 15 ini how many P/W can you pull off …. the answer is 3 maybe 4 in…. 3/4 second per PW without haste… so.. ~3 seconds without haste… ~1.5 seconds with haste do you really need more than that ? after you have blown your ini, you are completely useless, it’s a fact.

That is so silly. 1st off if you’re gonna go for a PW haste build you take initiative regen as a trait (2 every 10 seconds). Next you take Signet Use (gain 2 initiative when activating a signet) and 3rd you go a bare minimum of 5 deep in trickery so stealing gives you back 3 initiative.

If you feel inclined to spam PW you can spam it 5-6 times and after that you roll back and start using your SB until your initiative regens…only people who don’t understand initiative think the things you just said, also I guess any class would be “useless” when they’ve done their rotation and everything is on CD for those few seconds, eh?

I should also mention Haste will speed through 2 PW and kick start the activation of a 3rd, it will not last any longer.

But that’s beside the point. Why bring up something as off topic as that?

hardly, and I was only giving a rough ~ approx without getting too deep, but you want to, then I shall show you where you are going wrong.

firstly, get your facts straight the 2 ini every 10 seconds is called “Quick Recovery” and this is hardly an excuse for PW + Haste spam and complaining as you would not get your ini back until a 10 sec block has passed also 2 ini not even half a PW ability.

second, if you choose Signet Use you get a 30sec CD and that doesnt even give you 1 PW unless you pop 3 signets (good luck on that if you do), yet again. know your facts before you challenge my knowledge of Initiative. but I can see you are a new thief so I will go easy on you.

third, steal for ini is a 45sec CD, this being your longest CD I would imagine you would have your rotation based around this ability.

I am not saying it’s not possible to regen and get back initiative, there are far more options on doing so.

Opportunist – Critical hits have a 20% chance to restore one initiative (1-second cooldown).
what this means is that if you burn 3 PW in 2 seconds, you get 2 initiative back, no more. do not get this confused, there is a cooldown. and it’s 20% chance not 100%. so a single PW might not even return a single initiative but AT MOST, it will return 1 initiative

Infusion of Shadow – Gain 2 initiative when using a skill that stealths you.
This is good if you plan on stealthing to the target with steal maybe? but that’s trait points you need to spend.

Patience – Regain initiative faster while in stealth.
I don’t see a PW thief stealthing often to regain stealth as this is time lost on a fight.

So …… to sum it up…. at MAX you can get 3-4 PW in ~3sec I don’t care if you can regen like a god, you can only regen MAX 1 per PW if you are lucky, 2 per 10 seconds, and 3 from a steal, that gives you 1 extra PW so ~4 PW at MAX 2 seconds with haste, DONE… you can complain all you like, however this will not give you any more initiative in 4 seconds of haste I highly doubt you are the only person fighting and doing high damage output… 4 seconds of haste with 2 seconds of 4 x PW’s every 45 seconds does not seem to be worthy of a complaint.

Babel’s Quote to your first post was correct (although not entirely). His first paragraph he states/implies how important it is to trait in initiative regain. this is not for the haste combo but for the longterm tanking/killing with normal PWing. His 2nd paragraph acknowledges that it is impossible to spam PW so when you do run out of initiative, there are different ways to go about to not be useless. And then his third paragraph of his own experience/knowledge of how many PW you can actually pull off PW w/ haste.

I do not agree with everything babel says and my PW build is different then his. But your information aren’t entirely correct as well.

Just for the record, The max PW you can put in w/ Haste [4 seconds] are 3 full ones.

Are we ever going to remove the downed state?

Downed state is fine for pve. But for wvwvw they should remove it. If they don’t, then it can be something like.. While downed, you can’t use any skills. Next 5 attacks will kill you or you are downed for only 5 seconds then you die. Was never a fan of downed state.

I remember when the halloween came out and there was that pumkin rumble thing where everyone was given a sickle and a gun and there was no downed state.. I was hooked on it for a longgg time.

Firing a Catapult at Your Own Door

There should be a separate seige that helps you protect your door. The walls should be higher so people can not jump off the walls to do suicide attacks. Walls being higher, will make the oil harder to target (along with the player using it).

New dungeuns and map is fine but… What i really want to see is new WvWvW maps that encourage more open field battles, more weapon choices (such as dual swords for thieves) and new skill traits. New better armors (especially for medium).

Hide in Shadows – Regen is only beneficial if the thief is traited in deadly arts or has healing gears. You can only pull off another BS if the target is in a 4 second range, or ur gonna have to pop another stealth skill to stack your stealth. Stealthing grants initiative/regains faster only if you trait in shadow arts. When you regain initiatives while stealth you see a difference but it’s not a big difference where everyone would spec for it. When using Hide in Shadows, it feels like the animation takes forever when using it. Hide in shadows is only a very good healing skill when you specc into shadow.

Withdraw – Evades a good amount of distance, but you have to realize that it’s not like hide in shadows where you go to stealth mode and is entirely safe. Most thieves that use Withdraw (such like myself) are not fond of stealthing. Withdraw is a 15 seconds cool down that cures snaring conditions but has very little healing. Poison just kills any thieves using withdraw. When you withdraw you dont have control to evade any directions you desire so when you need to get from point a to point b using withdraw, you have to have your back turn against the direction you want to go to. Simple, yes but when you’re in tough situations sometimes things dont go your way. gaining initiatives when healing is a very good trait and tbh its perfectly balanced. Considering you have to get 30 trickery for this.

You’re right, when using haste, a smart thief sets himself a good escape route so if he fails or miss or is receiving too much damage, he can shadow return. So what’s the ideal skill to use haste with? Pistol Whip. A knowledgable thief can pull off 3 pistol whips within haste. But who’s to say that All three is going to hit? First pistol whip expected to hit, 2nd one if im still hittin you then that’s understandable. But if someone sits through all 3 PWs then there’s something wrong there. PW has been nerfed 15%, doing a recognizable amount of damage only applies if you’re specced in glass cannon . Our damage only shines when we get someone down to 50% and have fury activated from steal.
Roll for Initiative is a very underpowered skill and a lot of thieves take it for granted by not using it. I use it but not as often. Only when I can for see open battle fields and expect a good fight to come along. It’s not going to get changed anytime soon i can tell you that. Because there just aren’t that many utility slots to go around. It’s like Withdraw like you stated, you have to control the distance you’re evading to. I don’t use it half the time because i ask myself, “Why have this on one of my precious slots when withdraw does the same but it heals 4x a min, producing me 16 initiatives?” It’s a situational utility for big battles.
Shadow step – not sure about the breaking stun upon teleporting but yes return breaks stun and cures three conditions. The three conditions most of the time doesn’t really matter because a thief already has differenet methods of curing their own conditions. It’s only used to get from point a to point b most of the time and shadow return when in danger. It’s one of those very good utilities but it’s an optional utility. Some will use it, some wont. Can live without it.
Caltrops is again another optional utility. glass cannon prioritizes their utilities. It’s a fun utility for conditioner. But again, you have to prioritize your utilities. Why use a utility to condition when your weapon skills can do that. What if you used your caltrop and then the enemy instantly removes them? Well, kitten that’s a waste of utility right there. But for weapon skills, as long as you have the initiative, you can re apply.
Assassin’s signet gives a decent amount of power for passive to keep in your utility. If it was above 100 power then there would be a problem. next 5 attacks have an additional 15% is pretty even. i see it as giving the next 5 attacks some might stacks. At least it’s not next five attacks are guaranteed critical.
Signet of shadows is very nice for thieves considering the only time we can have any self-swift buff is upon stealing (and that’s if you glyphed your trait). Dodging to gain 2 seconds swiftness is not acknowledgable. signet of shadows is completely useless and a waste of space in battle. when you’re in combat your speed reduces right? What’s faster, the signet giving you that small increase or an enemies’ aoe/projectiles?

I admit, we do get some luxurious utilities. But like stated before, it doesn’t mean we can use them all or fit them all into our hotkey. You’re very informative and obviously know your research. But you just have to play a thief as a main to get the big picture. I heard a guardian’s utilities can save a whole zerg. ya know? There’s always gonna be other utilities within other classes that will always be better. I’d trade some of my utilities for retailiation, protection and more healing skills anyday.

Bladie: No profession packs as much utility into their utilities as a thief does. When the skills you are using because of their extremely powerful mobility (without even consuming endurance, you can move around the battle field and outmaneuver anybody 1v1) also remove high numbers of the conditions that most hinder your performance, when you would probably be fine without it, there is something wrong.

Your quickness is not balanced because the side effect puts very little risk factor into your playstyle. A ranger cannot heal; a warrior takes double damage. These are much greater risk factors than losing your endurance when you don’t even need it to escape a battle/evade most damage. If they fixed your damage, that would at least make up for the bulk of it, but the thief population won’t stand for not having insane burst with mobility/survivability at the same time.

Underwater? Nobody is going to attack a thief underwater if they have any common sense. Using targeted sinks eats up time you could spend doing damage, which makes you lose either way. The #5 skill doesn’t consume enough initiative for the thief to use it sparingly. I have watched a full cannon thief avoid all damage for 15+ seconds while attacking things outside of melee range the entire time, just by spamming shadow assault. The difference is when you have somebody assisting you (assuming one of you has multiple sinking skills), or he finally runs out of initiative, but you’ll be pressed to finish him on your own.

The thing about thief dodges is that if you need them, you’re doing it wrong.

Thieves are given the same amount of utilities as any classes. There are different sets of utilities that only fit the gamestyle of different types of thieves. This runs in all professions as well.

Quickness is balance. A ranger cannot heal but he’s in a safe distance with his skills ready to go and his pet with him. A warrior takes double the damage but he naturally has more HP and wears heavy armor. This never ending argument of why thieves will forever be OP always connects to the fact that thieves can teleport and stealth.

Regarding underwater battles, thieves are okay. Not underpowered but certainly not overpowered. #5 skills will always use up 5 initiatives (which is A lot). The playing field becomes even and they lose a lot of mobility along with their Burst damage. If you wanna bash underwater fighting, i recommend the mesmer section.

And you’re wrong, a dodge thief is much better and gets my respect any day. I would know because I’m one of them. Every thief has their own preference of survivability. Stealth is an introduction to thieves and is considered ez mode in my book (in terms of survivability). Teleportation and dodge gameplay is much more rewarding and displays more skills, knowledge, and quick thinking.

Every classes have their ways/skills of removing conditions. The utility skills that remove conditions are fine as is tbh. Thieves aren’t the only classes that have condition removal upon healing. Their healing skills only removes specific conditions which is pretty balanced. A weapon set that can remove conditions is having the sword as your mainhand. If you played a thief with sword as a main, you’d know that they don’t necessarily have the most awesome skills out there.

“Even your quickness is broken” You implied it as though thieves’ quickness is specifically broken. The skill itself is broken. The only thing that makes our quickness unique is because we can spam a certain skill as long as we have the initiative. But our initiave is pretty balance compare to other classes and their short cooldowns.

Lol underwater we basically lose 50% of our survivability. Which can be said to all classses to but it makes us even more vulnerable cuz now it’s fair game especially when thieves are designed to naturally have lower HP.

I’m pretty sure a lot of thieves don’t spec caltrops for dodge and actually use dodge for survivability like myself. I find that caltrop pretty useless compare to other great traits that can be used.

The advantages that thieves carry is the fact that we can teleport and cloak, increasing our mobility and survivability when we’re specced for glass cannon.

Sigh, Dred just when I was defending you in private messages. You’re a cool guy, a great player, a good commander. You point out the flaws many of our commanders have and as a DR native I respect you for that.

But this post was so incredibly self-serving and disingenuous to those who were here before. Would we have done this well this week without you guys, no. I really don’t think so, would we have done this well eventually without you guys, yeah. From you guy’s perspective, you couldn’t have seen all the changes that were taking place before you got here. I don’t want to discredit you or anything, but if anything got us stirred up to fight it was Kainengs come-from-behind win last week.

You know Kaputz yeah? He was reaching out to all WvW’ers on DR for nearly a week before PRO arrived. Many major guilds here have done some serious restructuring and collaboration that has nothing to do with PRO, and again I don’t say that to be a d*ck, it’s just true.

Frankly, I love having you guys here, I don’t like the conflict. I don’t like that the forum trashtalk has become a little less friendly. And while I’d like to win, I don’t like that it has become about ‘winning’.

When someone openly admits they have respect for you but after reading your post becomes iffy, does that give you a hint that you’re maybe saying something wrong? I believe you. I believe you probably are giving other commanders hints and tips on how to improve. But after summarizing and judging you from your recent posts, im not sure if you’re giving people advise correctly. To me, it’s just straight up disrespect when another commander comes in and turns his on while the other commander is leading. It creates drama and internal affairs. If you hadd issues with commanders, simply say what you had to say and listen what they have to say. If you guys don’t agree then simply move on to another BL without a Commander signal and then turn yours on. And I’d really appreciate it if you’d stop calling me a liar without any evidence. You stated some fail situations from my server, and so i did it back to you. You indirectly implied that we failed for having 3 omega golems, and so i posted right back saying that i’ve seen DR and Kaineng done it before too. You seem like a cool guy, but you’re rubbing ppl the wrong way.

Why is it that PRO is having so much complication with DR to the fact that everyone can see it on the forums. Why is it that the Evermoor was so loved and welcomed into Kaineng server? Fighting DR and Kaineng for weeks now and all i can say is that the Evermoor Alliance has a completely different vibe. It’s more positive and optimistic. I’m not in Kaineng but it seems like they are happily wvwving with each and are learning from each other.

Nope I have mutual respect for PRO and i dont know anything about PRO. All i said was that if DRs are posting some bad stuff about you guys, maybe you’re doing something wrong. Haters will hate, yes but when they seem like they have a reasonable reason why they dislike some PRO’s in specific and then you have someone like Dred posting, “I think the reason why we’re not loved is because people are jealous of us.” Totally his opinion, but someone stated that he is a commander and him making ridiculous assumptions is insulting to some DR players. I’m FC and I have nothing against PRO, this is strictly my unbiased opinioin. If i was to ever move my guild to a lower population server, i wouldnt be making the shot calls or boss people around. I’d humble myself and my guild to serve the server to gain respect like that. How would you like it if you’re restaurant was going out of business, then some bigger smarter supervisors came in and starting ordering you around. You may be winning now but it’s destroying the DR Unity.

I was there….bay south gate had easy 40 folks and north gate had another 15-20….DR had maybe 20 folks on the map. Very tuff to take a paper gate Bay with those numbers. But i do thank you for the kudos you give our server as it seems even with those numbers you still feel the need to field 3-4 omega golems to drop paper gates. Does DR instill that much fear on your server?? How come we never see you try those tactics during prime time? Oh i remember, u did once that i can recall. think there was bout 4 omega golems got owned at the lake side near your spawn. But heck, if the best u can do is control maps when there is little to no defense…yay for you and gratz on the confidence boost you get from it!

Lol you’re very blind. Did you also remember when you were in our inner garrison with a zerg of 35+ and 5 ppl in there with 4ish ballistas downed every single one of you? Well, I was there! I did remember your zerg outnumbered our zerg 2 to 1 yet we were able to get our territory back. Maybe the commander left, maybe he didn’t. But the fact that you had more people is still sad. Regarding with the 3 omega golems, they were already half HP when we got took over DR’s orb. Some of the zerg only went there because people were requesting for assistance since it’d be a waste of those golems. Stop talking about Golems cuz I was there when DR had their omegas, I was there when SoS took over everything with their Omegas. And i was certainly there when we stopped many DR from using their golems (at supply camps).

Three Omega Golems at half HP took over your empty garrison while you had a 40 zerg in Ferguson’s Crossing. While your garrison had NO weapon seiges and our garrison, my guildmates were building carts, cata, and ballistas. No matter how efficient golems are for breaking gates, they are kinda.. slow and pretty squishy. This is the difference betweeen a Ferg Commander and you. Stop implying that ferg players are bad when each side has their share of failing.
Btw you make your guild look bad. Apparently DR is jealous of PRO.

Nice fights tonight ferg, it seems like you only have 1 massive zerg though to move from borderlands to borderlands (I could be wrong though, so don’t quote me on that), I noticed as soon as I left FERG to help out Devonas, you must have went from devonas to ferg at the same time to take back that orb, lol.

I left though after so I’m unsure if you got the orb or not… Anyways, good fights.

Also, lets hear some bloody stories fellas! I know we about wet ourselves when we got the message:

“Ferg at stonemist!”
“How many?”
“A kittenload”
“THEY HAVE 5 GOLEMS”

Our gates were melted, we all retreated into the inner sanctum and manned siege and waited for them to blitz in. Somehow, their golems fell one after another to our ballistae and their men fell to our arrow carts.

Still a very good show ferg, many props.

Unfortunately some of the zergs were too preoccupied or interested in attacking other petty towers/camps. IF only we had 10-15 more people. I was the commander that went there because people wanted me to go retake SM. So i came from Kaineng BL with 7 of my many quality men to change the tide. Everything went according to plan with the right predictions. Sometimes things just dont go your way. And while we failed on taking SM, got news that devona took Kaining orb from us at Ask Hills. When i waypointed back, i saw like 10 pugs at waypoint running around, standing, /sitting, chatting with their guildmates. That was the last straw for me and my guild. We’re taking a break for 2-3 days. We’re that guild that’s been camping at Kaining BL since reset.

The main skill I wish we had as Thieves is lock pick. That just seems like a must, and I lock pick for a hobby. Would be neat.

Bladie’s idea is awesome too.

Dual Throwing knives
1 skill – throw knife (bleed 5 seconds)
2 skill – leap backwards, throwing 3 knives crippling for 3 seconds, and one poison for 3 seconds) 4 initiatives
3 skill – Assassinate – Throw a series of flying daggers (a total hit of 7) to target, crippling for 3 secs (4 initiatives)
4 skill – Chained dagger – roots single target for 2 seconds or has a 2 hit HP (3 initiative)
5 skill – throw dagger to target, teleporting to him (5 initiative)

Personally, I wish the thief was more thief/burglaresque than assassin style. I think it would be more fun to have blind and stun as more mainstream abilities and damage take a step back. Thieves, to me, should be more of a support/control profession.

haha thanks. You are right, thieves should be more cunning, invest in burglary, robbery, and many other underhanded method to gaining money illegally. But if they made a thief true to it’s name, then they would be less appealing and you’d have less of a weapon choice. When I think about a thief, it’s all about guns and knives. lol. I think GW2 tried to be original with their profession names but purposely led thieves to the assassin theme. It wouldn’t hurt for sure if there were more weapons given to thieves to be more underhanded and true to their names. You know what I mean? It’s like a guardian being a completely new class/profession from your usual MMORPG, but we all know they’re based off of Paladins/Crusaders lol.

Will Kaineng finish 1st for the first time in their servers history?

People over the few days have shown envy or jealousy over the fact that Kaineng has been getting pure WvWvW guilds. Which is great for them and I respect the guilds that weren’t talking the talk but walking the walk and actually transferred there. It is true, Kaineng did not get an explosion boost of population but the problem was that these guilds that came were not PVE, they’re pvx/wvwvw guilds. It’s an illusion that Kaineng now has the numbers to top us when in truth, they have 24/7 coverage on WvWvW which is something FC and Dr does not have. I’m pretty sure Kaineng has already realized that FC consists of pugs and dozens of random guildies rallying up to do WvWvW. Which leads to the theory of why I believe that’s why FC quits easily. Anyways, I believe Kaineng deserved to win and move on (they probably will with their momentum and oceanic guilds logging in as im making this post). Kaineng is more hungry, determined, and fights harder.

I am tho upset and disappointed at what happened these past few days in BG. This has nothing to do with any players or servers. On the same days and at the same time when my guild is going to do something Great for our server, the BG magically shuts down for maintenance. These moments weren’t about taking random supplies, open battles or random towers. These plays were perfectly timed ensured victory for our server. The first night was when we logged on and retook SM couple days ago and then planned to go for Kaineng Valley. We wasted and built 5 golems on standby within SM. When my scouts ensured me that the Kaineng zergs were fighting against some of our pugs along with DR as well, we were set to launch. But unfortunately the BG randomly with no prior announcement hours earlier, restarted BG for “maintenance”. I was deeply disheartened as we just lost 5 gold right there. Now if you don’t realize, Kaineng Valley is their only stronghold that lets them bounce back for when we take all other towers. It lets them easily retake everything since their keep is fully upgraded. The same incident happened this night 10/18/2012 when we were making another big play. My guild and I went to Kaineng BL with the Outmanned buff. With precise timing, patience and flanking, we were able to setup a stronghold for ourselves. As devona was fighting with Kaineng, we were able to ninja their keep and there you have it, the orb was in there. We took the orb and swam across the lake to place it on our own Keep because it was closer to our waypoint. And sure enough, another random announcement that BG was going down for “maintenance.” During my 450+ hours in GW2, i have never experienced BG going down for maintenance with a random announcement, not telling us ahead of time. You’d think that they wouldn’t do that again after the complaining and griefing after what happened the first time, but nope. Earlier when I read Kaineng’s topic, i saw GMs/Moderator posting stating that Anet is cheering for them. I thought that was pretty tight and i cheer for them too. But after what happened to us and these random resets on crucial moments with Kaineng almost beating us. It makes you kinda paranoid.

tl;dr I acknowledge that Kaineng deserved to win but i believe something about this week was pretty fked up (on my guild’s side of the story).

Mmmm, in the long run Kaineng will defeat Ferguson’s Crossing. Your server has just too many pure WvWvW guilds now. Ferg consists of little guilds that aren’t even organized. I don’t even know any pure WvWvW guild except for mine that does WvWvW on our server. Where as Kaineng has specific guilds that cover the server 24/7. I’m happy for Kaineng but like some other DR has said, you’re really not the Underdog anymore, it’s DR. As a server whole, FC definitely has double ur numbers maybe but when it comes to WvWvW guilds, Kaineng is definitely up there with us. It’s like this, Kaineng and WvWvW guild Vs Fergs and randoms. And, for Kaineng and FC allies, can you stop half lying about how you’re outmanned? There’s gonna be a moment during the day when a server is outmanned due to their server’s lack of wvwvw players not logging on. You get no respect from me when you’re telling the whole GW2 community about how you’re outmanned and yet you’re server’s still coming up strong. (you know who you are).

1 skill – left downward slash —> right downward slash (with both swords) --> Piercing stab (cripples 2 secs bleed 5 seconds)
2 skill – Infiltrator’s strike
3 skill – Berzerker’s Aggression (knockdown to target, One single dark red aura shot from the blade, going into one direction, hitting whoever is in the line of fire.)(range 800, 4 initiatives)
4 skill – Absolute Blade – levitates your off hand sword and drive it to the target’s heart causing bleed for 4 secs (while this skill is being used, you cannot use skill 5)(press 4 again to teleport you to the target pulling out your sword, doing additional damage and bleed 4 secs) (900 range, 3 initiative)
5 skill – Assassin’s Thrill – Spiral leap/dash head first to target (doing aoes to nearby foes) the closer you are the more hits it does. 5 hits with 1 finisher double sword stab. Guild leaders question

Guild that prospers into PVX without asking help from random people-

1. You can do this by yourself, but it’s gonna be 3 times harder
2. Establish cores and co leaders to help you grow
3. Tell people to represent or get kicked (No reason why they shouldn’t represent, if they leave then that’s their loss, not urs)
4. You as a Guild leader have to be more active then you are. Until things are finally growing, you have to put 110% into this.
5. Have people help you around guild whether partying/recruiting/wvwving.
6. boost your morale and help others level (but make sure, no leechers in guild)
7. Did I mention “represent”?
8. You have to establish a Heirarchy or Ranks and let people know that you’re serious about making this guild become bigger.
