PLEASE revert dungeon reward system changes

I think what they should do is make the reward character bound. i.e make the 1g you get character bound but then limit it. So if you have 8 alts u wont get the 1 gold after running it 4 times or so. That way ppl wont just farm the same dungon with diff alts just for the gold. But yes the token reward should always be character bound and should nto have a limit like the one i previously described. At the moment im having a really hard time doing new dungeons because i like to play at night and many ppl i know play in the morning so they dont really want to do the same dungeon again and on LFG the dungeons i want to run sometimes have “plz be experienced” so i cant try those new dungeons (doesnt happen all the time but still). The new dungeon system is ridiculous and now i dont even have a reason to play with alts that i dont like that much (my ranger……not bad but not as much fun as my other characters).

New weapons still RNG

Anyone else feel like Anet should make some new weapons skins that actually look good (like the new champ ones but unlike the new living story ones) that are not based on rng. I know i can buy the weapons off the tp but i like to be able to get the pieces necessary and assemble the weapon in the mystic forge instead of just farming a huge sum of gold all at once. IMO we need more skins that are crafted like legendaries or exotics like foefire’s weps, destroyer weps, mesmer weps (vision of the mists) instead of RNG.

Hard Dungeon Token Nerf

what if you do dungeons for the armor not the gold from the whole token -ecto thing which i believe u are referring to.
before update (3 lvl 80s) – 180 tokens
after update (3 lvl 80s) – 90 tokens
so it will take double the time to get all your tokens pretty much if u have 3 lvl 80s like me. A pretty major nerf to me because i have some more alts im lvling up that need gear and i dont have enough gold to buy armor + scholar runes.

Your right should have been more specific. I have sold expensive things in the past…not too expensive but around 100g+ and ive had difficulties when items were not selling quickly in general and people started undercutting. I have a friend who was trying to sell dawn once and encountered a similar problem. Look i have no trouble paying for the spark and 20g isnt much for me but undercutting especially on items that dont move too fast really hurts people. My friend for example wasnt even a hardcore player because he had tons of work so couldnt play too much but really wanted to get some cool skins and needed every bit he could get. sure i get impatience but still it doesnt make sense to me. My friend eventually relisted which was a waste of what 60g + loss in profit.

If you say get a precursor that sells for 500+g (spark at 520g now) why would you undercut sellers. Sure most of the precursors will sell but youre missing out on a lot of profit. I was recently looking at the spark because i want to make my legendary and i jsut saw people missing out by undercutting almost 25g. Why would someone do this.

Not sure if this helps but i remember not being able to access my guilds bank right when i first joined the guild. Then after i got some influence i was able to. Not sure if thats exactly what let me into the bank but its a guess.

Also servers have a reset in wvw every friday (i think) so if you change sides for example and go from red to blue or to green then u can easily complete map like that. My server just switched from blue to red so im running through all the places we have captured and getting stuff done!!!

Do Legendary User Impress You?

not really impressed but i do like to see legendaries other than the gs. Like frostfang kudzu, love the dreamer, incinerator, moot. Also im sometimes impressed if people have multiple legendarys but it depends on which legendarys they are.
Also yes legendarys are a skin but they are also a goal which people have. Yes some people spend hours each day just grnding for them but others just take their time its more of a saving achievement then anything

There is a group of thieves, I call them a wolf pack, running WvW in our current matchup. Four of them to be exact. Now I will give them credit as they did put me down a few times but with the proper counter party we have utterly destroyed them. As a Guardian one thief will very seldom put me down and on occasion I have had all 4 focus on me to get me out of the way because spamming #1 with the staff tends to hurt them. With the wifes necro dropping wells and marks it only takes one or two more and those four thieves are looking for greener pastures or pushing up daisies as a part of the pasture.
When you understand how the stealth mechanic works and use that knowledge to coordinate against thieves they are not that scary at all. Frustrating at times but never scary.

Thieves are just another dynamic in wvw. honestly in wvw there are some OP classes but in general if you are smart about it you can defend yourself from anything. And its not like getting one shotted by thieves happens all the time. Happens to me every so often but not enough to get me too bothered just annoyed for a few seconds. Also thieves dont have enough to down you and continue attacking others so you will usually be revived. The only really annoying part about thieves is when they stealth and then finish you off. Because then you cant do anything to stop them. I was being revived by four people and a thief finished me out of nowhere.

yeah i know that tp players dont care about farmers I just feel that in total the community has some reason to feel negative about farmers but not about tp players. Theres nothing wrong with either but it seems that farmers get more hate for repeating things.

just reduce the damage so they cant down you but they can still hurt you and run away. I dont play thief and i hate getting killed by them but if they nerf thief theres not much else they can do. Thats what a thief is. A stealthy assassinator who steals your money right before he downs you.

The real problem is not that traders make money because so few do extremely well its that the rest of us have a harder time making money and honestly for most of us its quite boring to just play the market. I find it tedious and not in the spirit of the game which is about adventure and what not. They should give more gold which they are starting to do. Hopefully they continue that and take out DR (not going to happen). There should of course be a gold disparity between those who play alot and those who dont but there shouldnt be a gold disparity between those who do dungeons and wvw and pve and those who trade. (although if you get a good organized group together getting gold isnt too bad if you just run dungeons all the time)

Also why do people think its fine to make money on the Tp but think that farming should be nerfed. Im all for dr when it comes to mobs in the world. But in dungeons there shouldnt be any dr or at least dr that resets every hour not every day

Ac path 2 Glitched

My group and i had a terribly tough time doing ac path 2. It was a pug with one level 35 and the rest 80. I know we weren’t perfectly set up but that wasn’t the issue. The issue was that Detha wouldn’t start the event in the hall of champions. We wasted about an hour trying to fix it. Why because we didn’t want to do it all again because we knew we probably weren’t going to make it. So first we just kept way pointing and then running back to the room. That didn’t work so we pulled some mobs and got them to kill Detha and then revived her and ran to the room. Again no cigar. Lastly we did that again and only had one person run to the room with Detha. Still didn’t start. We even tried killing Kohler and seeing if that worked. Now i wouldnt be posting this except that the day before i had a glitch with magg where he wouldnt start the part where you get bombs and bring them to him in cof p2. That also wasted about 30 min. For someone who has a tight schedule this stuff really ruins my mood and discourages me from trying the paths again. Please fix this Anet

Support tickets/ kite fortunes

I have recently been getting alot of support tickets…like a few stacks of them. First of all can we have a better system of tunring them in because i dont want to click 250 times just to get buttons. But thats on a side note. At the moment i feel like im getting alot of support tickets and reminders but very few kite fortunes. It seems as if with the new patch instead of making both drop anet have made it so you either get a reminder a ticket or a fortune. And with the helmets being classified in different armor types i wanted to get two of them just to be safe if i ever want one on a different character. At the moment i have around 296 fortune scraps a bulk of it from the first 2 weeks of the bazaar update and maybe 30 after the cutthroat politics. Does anyone else feel like the fortunes are dropping less?

i see what you mean about the prestige. But yes they definitely should change the reward in general because i made less in the 30=45 min i spent doing arah than i got from cof speed run. which is really just kind of sad

I did arah for the first time ever last week. I looked at the amount i needed for a set of armor. Not too bad until i tried to get into another group. It was really hard because most people dont want to run arah so its not open as often. Not many people have storymode and its supposedly difficult (although with the right group it isnt too bad from my first experience). IMO i think that dungeons like arah that are unpopular (coe and se are also not run as often from what i have seen) should have a higher reward because of their difficulty so that people will have a reason to run them. I know theyre will be a gold reward for running new paths but i think that harder dungeons should either not have dr or should have 100 tokens instead of 60 for each run. I would like the idea of a unified token system but that would make cof more popular so this is in my opinion the best route to make harder dungeons more popular.

If ANet wanted to entice players to farm “anywhere” by playing the game the way they intended it to be played, then why not relax the drop tables some to give people a sense they are getting decent drops?

first of all can someone explain what way anet wants me to play. All i do is run dungeons and do wvw which is already kind of farming because i just run the same dungeons over and over again (no i dont run cof over and over again unless i want some new armor). Also he’s right that they should increase drop rates from mobs. Most things people want to get i.e. precursors, named weapons, and event items like fortune scraps (which seem to drop much less now that the stupid support reminders and tickets have been issued) are hard to get from just playing the game normaly.

Can we also get some new permanent dungeons. Most of the ones we have now are pretty easy and theres so many guides that even arah doesnt take much skill to get through. This doesnt mean that the dungeons we have need to be changed. What we need are new dungeons and new areas to explore.

I Dont think its really hard to get gold, i play a few dungeons a day for the last week only and ive only been playing for 3 weeks in total and so far ive probably had almost 50g without even trying. At the moment i only have 7g because i spent about 40g on crafting because i hate leveling. Honestly the biggest problem with gold is the disparity between people who trade on tp and people who dont. Also another problem is the rng which makes some items too expensive so its not hard to get gold its hard to get enough where you dont have to worry about buying things because most things in this game are too expensive for the amount of dr there is.

Also btw, if you just run dungeons its really not too hard to get cultural t3. Especially if u have been playing since the beginning you really should have had enough for a t3 set without too much worry.

I kind of agree about frostfang needing a change. I dont have one but everytime i see it on others i look at it and say wow thats a cool looking weapon but its not much different from other “ice” axes. It doesnt distinguish itself from other axes as well as other legendaries do. it really does need some improvements.

Also at 80 you can invest in longterm items like weapons and armor and you can start to build your character for different things.

To level up my second character im getting 100% world exploration which i didnt get on my first. This way i can get the gifts, experience all that there is in the world, and level up my character and actualy become a better player (at the moment i suck at mesmer although this is probably because im only lvl 30 but i already have all starter areas 100% completed).

It can be very annoying when i hit deposit collectibles and my mini goes into my bank. it would be much better if we could have two buttons one which is deposit materials and one that says deposit collectables. That way we could distinguish between what we want in our bank and what we do not. I know having an invisible bag would solve the problem but on my lower level characters i dont have invisible bags yet and i dont want to spend the money just so my miniatures dont go away.

yeah this is my second char so i can definitely level as fast as i want to. I do use staff/gs at the moment but i havent done much with traits because i was unsure what to do. I will for sure try what osicat recomended

I recently created a mesmer and im really liking the playstyle. Since gw1 I’ve always stuck with classes like warrior or assassin (now thief). The kinds of classes where your more in the face of enemys. However playing as a mesmer is a real change and its pretty fun but i have a hard time killing more than 2 enemies. If i take on 2+ usually ill have killed one enemy fairly quickly but then the other one or two left will take forever because all my skills are recharging. I also have a hard time staying alive. When i take on 2 enemys my health drops to more than half which is a pain especially when im in areas with just swathes of enemys. At this point im only lvl 30 so i know that my ability to destroy enemys isnt as good as it will be when im lvl 60+ but if anyone can give me some tips or some builds i should run that would be great!

making dungeon tokens the same for all dungeon would create a desert in arah and a lot of pressure in the fstest dungeons…
it is just an example.
the only way to force people to not run cof1 30 times a day is to cap the reward system, and that is ok, according to me, since there are a lot of dungeon very intersting to do.

about champion worth killing, i agree, i mean there are not only the champions in queensdale right?
there are also lots of champion in orr and they specifically said they are doing this to make those champions worth killing.
the reward for the troll in queensdale will be scaled to the level of the champion i guess? and even if it isn’t it doesn’t matter, it’s just mats that you can craft once a day, so no real need to farm the troll. the game is full of champions enough for all of us!

about ecto, my salvaging rate is just fine, sometimes is kitten and sometimes is rich

actually i guess u are right. although i do think there will be too many people at each champ like there are around the dragons so that the events will be really easy but at least there will be some people in the mid level areas and in orr.

however for the dungeons i still feel that nerfing tokens is a terrible idea. They wont do a across the board change where every dungeon gives the same token thats never going to happen. But i can still hope! However i still wish that they dont nerf cof in the sense that you dont get less tokens from each run because it takes way too long to get dungeon armor sets

I like the new “looking ahead thing,” it fixed a lot of the problems this game needed fixing, champions will actually be worth killing now, and harder dungeons give more money, and it does make total sense nerfing the tokens you get, because 60 tokens= 2 rares, if the dungeon is ablove level 68, you have a chance at a glob of ectoplasm, if they didn’t nerf the tokens globs of ectoplasm would be around 4s each by now, people would only do the easiest dungeon path and leave out the kittenes, I can see many problems with this, you guys are just people who will never stop complaining…

So you think that making champions worth killing will help? In my opinion it will make it alot worse. Its pretty simple to kill a champ, theyre not very difficult. even with a group of 6 or 7 they can be taken down in a few minutes (and no not a group of 6 or 7 lvl 80s but of the same level as the champion). So if champs become actually worthwhile to kill there will be people camping out champs and killing them in two mins. Did you like when you were in queensdale and someone would link [Vale Waypoint] and say trolll and youd just click twice be transported there and get your goodies. Too bad, now you will try to travel there as quickly as possible but by the time you get there a hundred level 80s will have ripped that troll to shreds. There just going to give people who hop from world event to world event and even from server to server more options for them to get rares from.

Now to address your last point the reason people complain about dr is because the game gives us so many things we want like legendarys and exotic armor and then makes them so difficult or at least brain numbingly boring to get. Personally i never go into a dungeon in order to make money. Even cof which i run more than any other dungeon (duh), i know i will get money from it but i never take omnomnomnomnomberry bars with me and i dont care about the time because the main reason im running it is to get my mesmer some great armor. at the moment it takes way too long because after my first two runs i only have 80 tokens and after that i only get around 10 per run. (acutally add around 12 to that first number because you get those wonderfull little blue bags from the bosses). And i have 3 alts adn id like for them all to have cof armor so its going to take way too long to get it. honestly i like the idea of what the op said because that way i could run more than one dungeon and still get armor in a reasonable amount of time.

And about ectos. The salvaging rate isnt as good as you would think. Im pretty sure thats nerfed as well because i took some of my spare rares i had left over that i wasnt using (about 15) and i got maybe 12 ectos from them (i got one ecto from 10 of them and 2 ectos from one of them) and those rares were worth around 17s+ so i pretty much lost money on that and so to make a profit ectos couldnt go lower than 15s unless prices on rare items also fell.

well actually this has been great. whenever i look up guides theres always a grind involved. i mean i do farm every so often and i get lucky with t6 mats. i guess a long time process isnt that bad. Thanks this has actually been very informative. i guess i was just feeling a bit rushed.

The whole point of legendaries is that you spend a lot of time doing crap nobody wants to do so you can get a special unique weapon that only people willing to do that much work can get. If you don’t want to go through that process, then don’t worry about making one.

That just screams “Epic Content!”, doesn’t it?

perfect response the only trouble is that you cant win an argument with a grinder because unlike most players they have spent hours and hours just rationalizing the grind to themselves and have a pretty flawed but unarguable argument. its usually “if you dont want to grind dont get a legendary”

But thats kind of my point. The legendary isnt about stuff thats fun to do or challenging to do its about things no one wants to do. Im not complaining about the whole process because some things i think are cool. the gift of mastery seems to be pretty fun to get because you have to be involved in a lot of different things to get it. but the other two gifts , fortune and the speclific one just look as if a-net said lets get random t-6 mats and make people get them all because that will be a challenge right one that follows with what this game is meant to be.

But thats beside the point because im talking about the precursor specifically. as you said its up to players which it reallys shouldnt be. When i watch guides from months ago on how to get legendaries they state the price to be 250-350g which is ironically heartbreaking to see. something so vital to the process should not be up to players to decide the price of. Honestly a-net nerfs when people farm the same area over and over again which imo is somewhat justified. And they ban people who use exploits which is def justified. so why do they let people make 600g off of luck? they should definitely overhaul the precursor system.

also just wanted to say thanks to the previous replier because i didnt realize how much gold i would get from just doing all the other challenges in the road to get the legendary. and i will probably have enough by just saving. But of course saving all my gold will really harm the fun i have when trying out new things…

or at least semipermanent. I missed out on this because i joined the game in june. Most of the skins i like can only be got from doing the box so my suggestion is to make the box permanent or semipermanent like one week a month because waiting a whole year seems a little….long

if your lvl 80 and you complain about the level drop than you have a terrible build. I helped someone at lvl 3 do some higher level stuff to level up quicker ( around level 10 stuff) and it was really hard to let him get credit for kills because two whacks of my greatsword would kill a bandit. SO no they should not take out the level decrease. What they should do is create more areas just for level 80s because so far cursed shore is the only one.

yes definitely i have opened up recipes like the new celestial ones and have had a hard time finding them. I mean yes there is a search area at the top but if i want to craft a lot of things quickly it can be difficult. And honestly i dont think it would be too hard to fix

Im fairly new to the game. I started a few weeks ago and im having alot of fun and people are really nice. At this moment i have one level 80 war and i am in the process of leveling a mesmer. i decided to go for a legendary but cant decide between sunrise or bifrost (probably bifrost because its my favorite staff skin but there are other sword skins i like). Now in general the task of getting a legendary is already daunting, and mostly boring (no offense a-net but from what i can see all i can do to get the weapon is farm cof over and over again). But the other day i looked at the precursor weapon price and i was thinking they were going to be maybe 100g at most 200-250g but no i was wrong. 600g+!!! I know the rest of the mats and what not that go into the legendary are much more than 600g but still. So after looking at the ridiculous prices and asking some guildies if there was any other way to get a precursor (they said rng and i immediately fainted) i went online to see if any changes were going to be made. in one thread i found from 8 months ago a dev posted that he understood how unhappy people were about the precursor prices and they were going to do something about that. So its been 8 months and i cannot see any changes in the precursor. IMO they should make it and every thing else in the legendary based on challenges. And clearly it really is a problem and i know they understand that so please can we have changes already.

Kite Fortunes: need advice/help, please

um this might not be of much help but they definitely do drop off of mobs. not too often though. However they seem to drop less than the dragon coffers. Also if you do any dungeons you get kite fortunes as a reward. Or at least they drop more there because i got about 5-6 doing cm.
