i rarely say this
but thank you arena net
arctic fox minis, winter outfits my character can actually travel in, achievements driven by content instead of forum toxicity, returning festival with a venue change and at least one new quest
though i can not forgive there being a lack of dragons bash, no effigies to cinder.. not a single dragon piñata with magical paper dragons that fly out when you smash them.. this was a march forward without the typical five stumbles backward
this game couldn’t handle horo
or her mercantile companion. . .
sounds rough… you should get a free precursor for power leveling
i don’t expect to get mounts in this game, as much as i doubt we’ll have transforms that are as interesting/useful as they are in other games..
there should be no way to skip through a leveling up experience, that’s plain cheating.. sorry, that’s just a fact.. as for a user interface, like a pop-up that tells you “hey, we don’t use wasd in this game” sure, if you’ve seen it 5 times already you don’t need to see it again..
with that said, i don’t feel gw2 is confusing in the least compared to some of the other games available in its classification.. when i first leveled it was a very good pace and whoever organized that should get a cookie.. now after npe i ended up killing a great ice wurm and heading into my personal story with a singular dagger skill.. it was beyond stupid
many mmo’s lose player retention on novice characters because those games Are confusing and depending on the age of the mmo very complex.. this wasn’t the case with gw2, in fact probably just the opposite.. gw2 being imbalanced and simple allowed people to skip meaningful content, power level, exploit.. whatever you want to call it, and people said forget this game
and bunny ears that don’t look like they are off some —-—s halloween costume? too
i know one of the devs likes the cat ears headphones making their way to market.. anyway, they have quaggan hats so why not
i reserve my excitement for when ncsoft is comfortable on their other projects that they send resources over to relaunch this game
i think if you are in the discovery tab {anvil icon}
your first craft of a certain item is actually crafting the recipe..
much enthusiasm, i hope you do not end up like my little pony here
dude, you gotta carry small amounts of gold and drop it out the cuffs of your pants
shawshank redemption style
everyone knows that. . .
actually he’s been in games for quite awhile.. he probably could fix a few bugs
you are correct though that it’s sad some people have hijacked this thread to complain about other issues.. this isn’t the same as any of the other features, dailies were obnoxiously stale and maybe a handful of crazies going for hellfire full set will have to shake up their Routine…
In the final analysis, what it’s going to come down to is what the new rewards are. This will make or break the system in the eyes of the players.
for my guild, who have been spending less time in tyria lately, it will ultimately come down to ‘how interesting are these new dailies and what kind of interaction with other players will it influence.’ i’m sorry for those upset by the change, but the rest of us will forge better weapons, alliances, and ultimately beat back the dragons while you sit in the starter towns…
apparently you didn’t read the title of each article
content driven dailies..
log-in rewards
the free daily rewards are to compensate for the no-longer mind numbingly simple dailies.. and you want them to degrade the content oriented portion by duct taping the old dailies onto them?
i know there are some dire issues with the game and lion’s arch burned and torn asunder.. but when concerns about scheduling arose, i decided to assemble the pact, voltron, duelwield caladbolg and excalibur, and waypointed in some red paint
– sincerily, lord master of all things tyria and second
only to caithe and her awesomeness
p.s. i said arose.. it’s funny, because i’m a plant.. though i have no personality and can not laugh, i leave that task to you commander
Since the start Devs have been working hard to remove all forms of difficulty as players used to say this game was too hard, too many hidden features and skill factors, too many little “abusive bugs” that was letting players cast skills while they channeled others and so forth…
What may have started as an age rating for 17+ has now been dumbed down into a 5yrs and older game.
agreed, this game quickly devolved into a pg minus fortnightly web comic.. there is very little chance of seeing immersive or intricate content at this point.. try playing through achievements or grind gold for whatever items grab your attention
quests. . . .
how long will that take them?
New class means PvP is even harder to balance…no thanks.
can’t break what’s already broken /shrug
what are you talking about, they already re-built lion’s arch
looks at attachment and drinks heavily
and arena net has their agenda booked “a year in advance” so once they get around the mordremoth sylvari glint things they will be building it in their own fashion
estimated time of arrival 2017
all the highrise architecture was taken out in the scarlet attack and they seem to be tossing all the games and trend merchants near the wrecked lion so i’m assuming they’ll put a festival grounds there and rebuild the original keep on top of the mystic forge
i’m guessing the developers who built and launched the game but no longer work on this title know the most.. and you left out a category, the congregation of players who perpetuate misinformation.. example salvaging for ecto will make you rich in this game, or.. salvaging ectos is the best way to gain luck

.an apology from arena net
thanks santa
staff elementalist that can actually use their staff like they do in other ncsoft games z_z
pretty sure sauron could see for miles and he had dragon riders, so that cute lotr meme of eagles + volcano is funny but moot
this game is past its second year and it is in the home stretch of living story season 2.. i am not a guild wars 1 vet but i have played this one since launch and am finding myself with less reasons to log in each day.. i know there is more content, but the game doesn’t really motivate me to explore it like other games do..
i’m part of a multi-game guild and some of our members simply don’t log into guildwars2 anymore.. even our resident achievement hunter spends less time on it and almost doesn’t log in outside of the living story season.. our weekly wvw is starting to turn into a ‘maybe’ sort of thing and sadly our pvp guys already put this game down.. anyway, i’m fairly invested in this and many players have brought it to my attention that guildwars1 dailies were massively different than guildwars 2..
in all fairness, the two games themselves are massively different.. you can’t just copy and paste one thing, like guild halls etc.. guildwars2 is very polished for a current generation mmo and i know there is more meat on the bones of this game, but a lot of people are wondering where exactly? some of the new achievements/collections were interesting and i know the dailies/monthlies are convenient, but convenience without purpose ceases to be a luxury at some point..
i don’t know when that point is, but i feel this game is getting closer and closer to it.. the mmo market was pretty saturated this year, many titles with reasonable updates, not to mention new games.. that’s a bit off topic as guildwars2 seems to have its own place, but as i said my guildies are looking for a reason to log in during arena net’s “off-seasons” i guess you would call them..
so back to my main question, since we can never get a confirmation on an expansion and only have cdi’s to guess about future features and content.. will we get anything like zaishen missions for when living story is over? or if something like that is even doable
i thought for sure this thread would have been about there being toilet conversation no matter what mapchat i go to, seems more like a newcomer vs lack of hardmode topic.. are they talking about the maturity of one’s lifespan playing video games?
to be perfectly honest, i’d be surprised if an expansion brought in a substantial amount of customers at this point.. let alone trying to inject life into the game with a subscription fee, simply to gain better funded content.. you’re basically expecting exceptional results by putting the carriage in front of the horse
any other classes have wishes for a specific weapon type to be released for their class?
bo-staff, elementalist.. and fix earth mage to be tanky and not a gimmick
rendering latency maybe? minis and legendaries shouldn’t contribute too much to that sort of thing.. you can turn down the model limit/detail of other players and certain npc’s in the settings.. turning off non-enemy nametags improves fps.. cheerz o/
as a person of 300% magi find i can attest to that amount not being easily met through normal gameplay.. either that is photoshopped, or you continued hard farming of luck after hitting the cap to make some sort of statement, or you play the game in some odd manner that would afford you that amount.. there have been posts about this already, but posting an image of that sort is just giving arena net incentive to not do anything further with essence of luck as it is obviously farmed out of commission by certain players already.. so, if it is utilized as a currency, or ingredient in the future.. expect the end result to be items of virtually no value.. and you can thank certain players for that
i’m here because someone recommended it to me, you can equate that to hype if you want.. i’m still here because, to be perfectly honest, i’m a rather habitual person.. i’d probably pass up a helo ride on a sinking ship if i knew the nearest shoreline wasn’t a world away.. i agree, the mmorpg market is fairly saturated at the moment and despite breaking out of a routine being rough for me, i have been exploring other titles lately..
off the top of my head, what did i want.. probably good mmorpg immersion, not a re-run generic version of itself in every direction
i put this thread down for quite awhile, i still think elementalist, staff in particular is entirely underwhelming the way it fits into this game.. i just kind of rolled over and played a cleric build for a long time aiming to just blend into the background and offer mild damage and support.. anyway, i noticed a striking contrast in 2 good traits and how they hopelessly lack versatility.. lets just look at the ‘earth’ mage to begin with.. probably the the tankiest most beefed up defense grandmasters in the game, right? sadly no, the deeper you go into the earth line the more you are gambling basically on the off chance you’ll fall into a situation where your build will ‘work’ ..earth 5pnt is one of those splendid damage modifiers, but when is an elementalists endurance full.. i think the reasoning is ‘alright, we’ll get a tanky earth mage and they’ll do condition damage while keeping mostly to that attunement’ ..it gets even more disappointing as you enter the end of the traitline.. stay attuned to this, stay above health for this.. you decide you want to stop gambling and you look at the only reliable earth grandmaster and realize.. this shouldn’t be a grandmaster, this should be tacked on somewhere earlier in the line.. even putting it at the 5pnt would be better.. it doesn’t speak as well to build diversity, but sadly you are probably going to run into more elementalists running a signet than one with full endurance who is infact benefiting from a power boost while deep in the earth traitline. . . . anyway, i’ll move on to that other trait i noted.. this one is 2pnt arcane.. if you are far enough in a traitline you will get a blasting affect on attunement swap and having even a small boon of fury is going to help, right? well, the earth 3pnt is weak and the water doesn’t apply damage.. this trait really only speaks to elementalists who change attunements at a high rate and are invested in offense.. this is fine, i say give it to them, because they will need traitpoints in other lines.. but, the sad thing is a trait that should speak to the majority of elementalist players is lingering elements and they piled that into the 4pnt arcane section.. this, is just sad and i think it would do better to merge it with the 2pnt arcane.. it seems like i want to just give things away for free but it’s really a step toward balance.. if doing this supposedly adds something to a build that tips it toward absurdity, i think it would do them better to take a look at that particular build.. keep in mind they had to tone down an entire stat in this game. . .
-snip-
i’m a hobo mining skritt and i support this suggestion
coddler’s cove, cuz the baby quags rezz you if you die
o/
there’s no deluxe “membership” in this game
i don’t see them retroactively awarding.. anything to anyone
ahah, ok sorry i tried to tone down the trolldom in the title
seriously though, the next installment seems to be about a sidestory arena net wanted to glamorize since launch.. that’s fine but i have a quick question for everyone
if you could choose a storyline that wasn’t fused into the current living story.. so, like a fractal, it could just be anything.. what would you pick? an early eir adventure? or something with the other dest edge members, like when rytlock met logan.. something about snaff maybe?
also, bonus question.. where would you go next? northernshiverpeaks/old bloodlegion territories, elona/cantha, somewhere else?
and you love that mount so much you put your asuran’s hand in its skull?
i completely disagree.. i think queen jennah and her henchmen should put up gates and guards all over tyria and not even let us peak outside.. because y’know, there’s dangerous and dark stuff out there!
seriously though, i think gw2 does a good job with the environments.. i actually lived in a town arranged much like lornar’s pass, two completely parallel mountains.. they do well with the environmental effects too.. i used to trebuchet things in wvw and sometimes a snowstorm would cut down visibility.. not the exact topic we are talking about here but they have options and it’s really just how they want to arrange tyria..
mostly every mmo out there is an amalgamation of things.. some detail their maps better, some are crazy fun and immersive but you can’t even jump.. i died on one today and it ported me to the nearest town, on top of a canyon -__- it would have taken me all day to get down until i realized there was no falling damage..
as i said, i personally don’t mind the layout of tyria.. or did you have something specific in mind? i could also mention mounts and travel how some games will take you quite a distance before a loading screen and you see spectacular views of functioning aspects of the open world.. arena net has nothing even close to this especially outside instances.. maybe the budget and tech will eventually support corrupted dragoons and vast deep sea environments..
’gunna end rant before i make a metroid reference.. having the best battlesuit tech in the galaxy but needing upgrades to -__- get to things.. space planets are rough, likewise.. tyria is kind of a grittier mmo style.. ’imagine’ what a well placed ladder would do to a jumping puzzle, sometimes immersion is what we choose to make of it
’ stuff stuff stuff ’ – skritt
i’d look ahead and make sure you have the ingredients that require a few fractal runs.. if you don’t do those.. and charged crystals.. if you don’t have those
set me back at least a week when i was making mine
medium shaders, post processing off
i always play those settings
i had no idea there was so much to do in pre-searing gw1, i’ll have to check it out sometime.. also, the scrying pool point of interest in gw2 doesn’t contribute toward map completion and it’s sad how many people don’t know travel there doesn’t require a gw1 account.. anyway, it was just an idea.. they could implement quests from racial cities, or just drop a generic npc in open world i suppose.. what would be simpler, i dunno
a long long time ago in a land far far away.. someone said elementalist should have a cheesey burst build, a mobile bunker build minus the mobility and any possible chance of downing another player, and a handful of gimmick traits buried deep in the traitlines beyond any playable build arrangement oh, wait..
an f5 bo-staff “attunement” for elementalist would be nice
post processing is pretty ugly in this game.. apparently you can’t see drunk effect unless it’s on.. all this time i thought drinking did nothing, other than the guild keg that knocks you down.. i bought all my thirst slayer drinks from the monastery, i think that drink is removed now.. there should be a way to refine drinks like luck, ruined a good mouse button doing that achievement.. thanks arena net!
cake guns
i’ve designed a new legendary staff for elementalists
well, best case scenario would be to get an easy, medium, and difficult task each day.. achievement hunters will do all 3 regardless, veteran players will attempt to do whatever ones out of boredom or for loot, and newcomers should be encouraged to try some but not feel obligated to do so..
this has been mentioned already, but a streamlined system would be one that rolls different tasks for so many players within reason.. as to avoid the entire player community mobbing down a quest each day.. it should be more like, “hey, what quests did You get today.. oh, i did not even get that one.. i do however, know a few other players who did.”
tanky bo-staff elementalist
basically gambit from x-men
