the assumption that arena net is incapable of adjusting math throughout the longevity of the game is ludicrous.. with that said, i’ve been on 300 magi find since scarlet died and it does exactly what it is designed to do.. a few extra yellows here and there, essence of luck is artificed into the bank and it takes up very little space

i’ve skipped all the pvp dailies since revamp, and some of the wvw ones..
have completed all the non-fractal pve dailies D: i’m such a horrible person

yeah, i’m definitely resubbing my warcraft.. to be fair though, i have little complaint for ncsoft’s other titles this year.. and after reading this article, i’m afraid i can’t take anything off that site seriously

yes, let’s remove ncsoft from the equation and see what a miraculous thing the guildwars franchise becomes.. said no one adhering to logic, ever..

i don’t think i would like that build at all..
but this is what i chiseled out, i can swap those stats simply by changing 1 or 2 pieces.. dropped tough to build up everything else, the ‘mix’ is actually the one i’m most comfortable with

the shallow hope that one day arena net will fix my staff elementalists earthline
and it won’t just be some gimmick armor while attuned to potato

the hilarious part is this thread doesn’t have to be about mounts..
yet people make it about mounts and therefore it will be handled in the same manner it always is and therefore we’ll see this threads clone later this week

i really like pet battles in wow, fishing, i run a class that has swiftness transforms.. which i actually prefer over the mounts, but then there is flying… i’m pretty indifferent to mounts and housing, but i wouldn’t mind fishing eventually making its way into this game..
personally i don’t think costume brawl is a huge thing, except when people are bored.. and mini battles, would not make much sense.. you don’t acquire them in the wild and they are based off of characters

totally agree, if we’re going to recommend better writing.. then there’s a ton of lightnovel’s/anime to glean over before referencing: breaking bad, game of thrones, walking dead, dawson’s creek. . .. etc and so forth insert popular arc of whatever medium..

i can’t suggest the writers simply get better at their jobs.. they are going to do things how they do things over at arena net.. personally i do find they’ve been chasing pet side-story material and glamorizing it into the main lore ultimately having this game play out like a glorified web-comic.. it compliments the living world as much as a tutu does on a hippopotamus..

cliff hangers and episodic structure.. well, the story is somewhat limited by what content can be produced, so who can really blame them.. season 2 started off as strong as season 1 ended, but then we had inconsistent bits of story and content and cliffhangers.. if we’re talking about “caithe stole da baby” i personally don’t even feel that is a ‘cliff hanger.’ it’s simply where the episode needed to be cut in relation to the next episode and how much non-story critical content they pumped out: that is, mazes and exploratory terrain, new items, etc..

so unless there’s an expansion or ncsoft decides to bus over a team of devs for the sake of pumping out 2 independent episodes at a time.. people are going to have to simply deal with the living story structure as is, asking for no cliff hangers is just putting more constraint on what they already have to deal with

you’re taking his statement out of context.. he was simply saying some people don’t feel living story has added a considerable amount to the game.. whereas, compare that to whatever else.. and to be blunt, i actually agree.. living story was horrible least year, and this year it was doing much better until these last few installments.. it leaves me with little hope for the next few chapters.. at this point, if arena net introduced mounts on january 13th instead of living story, i honestly wouldn’t feel this way or that about it..

this forum would be infinitely happier if they just stickied a mounts thread and a housing thread at the top of the general forum with a disclaimer saying it’s not a cdi, it’s for the fans, but it certainly isn’t a promise of content.. right now, i couldn’t even tell you where the mounts thread is.. also just using mounts as an example.. i think everyone gets the point
lastly, i totally disagree on your statement about achievements because with the layout of open world and this point in the games longevity it was a well needed overhaul

or watching the last few episodes of sao2

no pigeonhole, cookiecutter, bubblegum balance, or non-viabilities to speak of

no the reports state every year that ncsoft wouldn’t be entirely apposed to an expansion if it was necessary to keep the franchise going.. with that said, no this game isn’t going to receive a good expansion if all things are left entirely to arena net.. if ncsoft steps in and relaunches this game you’ll all see a really awesome expansion.. i feel that is logic that is blatantly obvious at this point.. i could be wrong

that’s one bright side on the revamp.. arena net isn’t forcing anyone to do certain content, but they can organize and incentivize doing so.. they’ll know where players are likely to be on some days, less traveled content will have a congregation of players testing things out, there’ll be better and more consistent feedback and or bug reports.. or scaling, event revamp suggestions.. also, the ’don’t give Everyone the same thing on the same day’ was briefly mentioned in the daily suggestion thread i promoted for like 2 months straight z_z but they were probably polishing their revamp by the time that feedback hit the forum z__z the new roll-out seems to be one they’d be able to tweak pretty easily..

as for scaling that is an issue all itself.. like the condition troubles, it’s an issue i myself don’t closely follow but i know other people have mentioned it quite a bit.. so if arena net is capable of improving those systems hopefully they’ll get around to it

obviously they aren’t stupid, they’re not going to bottleneck and crash content or make things horribly imbalanced.. i remember when they tweaked scarlet’s healthpool during ‘invasions’ .. personally, between wintersday and ‘new dailies’ i haven’t seen too many issues.. i’m sure there are some though

right, because watching other professions face-tank content, having a predefined role, and being easily countered.. is the same as someone “wanting to be perfect in all game modes and scenarios” ..give me a break
i’m also disconcerted about, not just the elementalists stats but the conditional traits which i know are a part of the game but are pointlessly useless unless attuned to potato

anyway, i’m going to try one of the posters advice.. and sacrifice about 200 toughness and shift it into other stats.. though, in the past i have conformed to talking points and it’s easier to say some stats are comparatively junk yet it doesn’t always hold up in practice

i find very little reason behind the whining on this particular issue.. i like the new system, but even if i didn’t, there’s still the crucial matter of “it’s good for the game” so it’s disappointing to see so much criticism

yeah, i’m liking most of the newer content and rewards..

i agree with mostly everything you said x_x
and despite its virtues, it gets to the point where it feels redundant in most groups and also that i’m a walking lava-tomb when separated from the herd.. i think i’m just going to take a break for awhile, thanks for the info

Hopefully it lasts beyond the novelty of introduction.

for the longest time this game was about “skip the launch content and complain there is No content” etc..

my main character is staff elementalist
i run ascended cleric gear with knights trinkets basically.. sentinal staff with sigil of energy
i have an exotic zerk set for when i’m just grinding..

where did they go wrong with this class.. i know dagger elem can dance and bunker a point, and there’s a burst build on other weapons.. but staff is just a compilation of every disadvantage a character can have in this game.. its function is being redundant support for classes that do it better

and to be perfectly honest, it’s horrifically underwhelming on both extremes of the spectrum.. so how much more useless would i feel going celestial/hybrid

i’m sure there are some builds out there, but i’m sure there are more (were more) players who don’t want to be forced into certain traits and have to play “flight of the bumblebee” on their keyboard to be effective.. and also what is the strategy other than stay off the frontlines
