oh is that why frogs are in hoelbrak.. i thought it might have something to do with lore that got scrapped.. no skritt for norn apparently, and grawl would have seemed out of place.. some skritt wandering the great hall looking for ale would have been funny.. awhwel, when pendant of arah drops to about 100g my home instance will be good..
whispers guy is there, i’d really like to quit my order, or join new ones.. i only picked that one because the quests made sense at the time.. this game loses its edge after awhile

they said putting dungeons in this game is a lot of work and it sounded like it’s too much on their plate.. teqautl was a huge failure when you consider what simpler changes could have been made, but of course metrics on how many players do the content as apposed to the obviousness of how much of the player base was turned off to the content.. it sounds like i’m biased but consider how many people argued against the typical doom sayers that the game is dieing with ‘look at all the players’ yet in reality gw2 has shown over a fair amount of time they have poor player retention compared to other mmo.. back on topic, i’m not against arena net adding raids but when you look at their track record, even hiring a seasoned raid programmer, you really have to ask yourself what resources at arena net are going to suffer from a guild and raid campaign but also what ‘raid ish’ content will eventually be delivered

i remember when arena net was looking for feedback concerning the leveling process and we all know how well that turned out.. likewise putting niche features from other games mounts/housing should not be on their list of priorities.. this game is going to wither and die if they keep allowing talking points to dictate where it goes

i know the wardrobe system murdered town clothes.. but now that we are moving forward i don’t see why people hate outfits so much

i quit on achievement points after 10k.. i remember i burned through a few hundred because i wanted the magic find/laurels.. something like that i forget already z_z

dailies i burn through pretty quickly on the world boss train, i make sure to do them out of not wanting to lose a laurel.. learned my lesson and park an alt near a skillpoint for crystals too now.. yep, there’s nothing like time gated junk to encourage your players to log in for 10 minutes each day but no more than that out of disgust..

i digress on those matters but agree with more daily content actually being a good idea.. in light of the npe, time gating or gold gated collections trying to inject players into older content.. i just got ‘fed up’ and suggested a new quest format – - here – -
and the beauty of it is it doesn’t involve new content, just introduces players to older things in game that they never bothered to do Because arenanet Never bothered to Show them.. it would only take a system slightly more complicated than the current dailies.. and since there is a reward goal and the option to do more than 1 each day it eliminates gating and could appeal to alt-o-holics who’ve done nearly every thing in game..

the worse part is i expect it to get little attention if any.. the only point of this forum is threads with a huge “maybe” sign of ‘dev issues’ that go on for pages and ultimately impact the game on a nominal level..

i’ve been on for 2 years and have only ever purchased 1 gem store outfit.. and that was to use the cooks gloves on my town clothes, which didn’t have any gloves… wardrobe destroyed that outfit >_>
anyway, i’ve even avoided the armor sets as they don’t appeal to me and the ones with a singular item just haven’t grabbed me enough to get them..
this winter outfit, have to be honest, looks great and it’s not lore breaking either.. i’ll get one.. then again, there is a commando outfit leak that the majority of reddit seem to like and aside from impulse vomit makes me question why i’m even on this game.. so, yeah.. if i’m still here in a few weeks, i’ll get a fluffy parka

i remember 9dragons had lightfoot and no waypoints
gw2 travel is skill based, that’s just how the game is designed

i wouldn’t get too excited about it.. they are probably just looking to acquire some knowledgeable employees who are done working on the draenor expansion.. expect slightly better arena net style raid content mid 2015

i still remember leveling my first gw2 character.. it was engaging for many levels and then it just dies off.. and i also know people learn to power level and then they “teach” newer players “how to play the game” and it just becomes an abominable disgrace after awhile.. i completely agree the npe was necessary and in fact supported it Months/year? ago when arena net was considering it.. unfortunately, i am in no way obligated to subscribe to the finished product.. it looks like another surgical job done with a sledge hammer..

you’ll be sorry once arena net uses this fancy new wardrobe system to release singular unit holiday outfits! oh, wait.. now that i think about it.. 9dragons already did that like 5 years ago  their funny hats were infinitely better too z_z

commissar event isn’t actually bugged, you just need to back track from east-west a few times.. it involves slightly more coordination than clearing upper hirathi.. it’s sad that these collections had their potential blown by poor decision making.. they’re just a gold sink sham trying to promote older content (which is fine by the way, but you don’t do it by waving a carrot in front of the face of your seasoned players).. and sorry, but i’m not going to subjugate myself on flat out horrible content like arah.. there’s a reason it is a stale (path selling) portion of lfg.. and sorry to say but the price on this item isn’t going to stabalize until after the market players get their investment worth or arena net intervenes

here or linksville.. i see you use spark potion, i’ve been trying to find a tonic in game with an extremely small model and good camera angle..

just started gw1 a week ago and i don’t know how to power level through so i’m just using whatever armor i can get for each mission.. and clipping? my gw1 character clips just from doing some of the standard game motions.. not on my ssd right now, but here is my gw2 heavy looking mage armors.. quite pleased with them, sometimes get clipping with backpieces or shoulder armor, but what can you do really..    /shrug

just a quick suggestion, would it be impractical to implement 2 screenshot folders/keybinds?
the reason is sometimes i take screenshots just to catalog a conversation i had in gw2, and other times for different reasons..
so i thought it would be a cool patch for people wanting more organization for that

i have a terrible habit of deconstructing things rationally and leaving no room for talking points.. i’m a serious thread killer

the hilarious part was when people in this thread actually tried substantiating their arguments with ‘facts’ so here is mine, i think roughly 85% of this thread consisted of non logic and ultimately derailed.. sadly this all started based on an arena net commercial, which i don’t think anyone in their right mind takes seriously anyway, so kudos as i expected it to go even worse than it did.. i can never tell who is really more out of control, arena net or their player, forum community.. gw2 does have what was and still is advertised, but has also been bogged down with strange ‘development issues’ which after so long i’m just going to accept is the way they run their show..

for all i know gw1 was built in someones garage and gw2 was outsourced to a small army that does programming.. i really don’t know what is going on over at arena net.. and to be perfectly honest i can’t relate to the overall community of this game either.. arena net announces they are working on red grapes, they deliver white grapes, and the player community screams for wine.. it’s a shame but i feel like they are being asked to deliver things beyond their capability; at the same time i also believe when they aren’t producing only content they felt like doing, they are heartlessly going through the motions and simply filling the trough for the next herd

i’m not a gw1 vet or fan.. i’m playing it right now as sort of a missions pack to gw2, it has its merits.. i wish people would just subscribe to sanity for awhile and allow gw2 to develop into a straightforward, respectable game..

my computer can easily handle gw2 but i still play with most of the graphics turned down, then you see some warrior fly across the screen like a nyan cat power ranger..

i’ve only ever played gw2 and i know hall of monuments is in the last gw1 campaign..
i’m wondering, if i play the gw1 games in order, will that contribute to my gw2 Hall of Monuments.. or do i need to start with Eye of the North, unlock the hall of monuments and then start from there..

nvm i think i found it.. having a level 10 character from any campaign can get you to the eye of the north.. and there is a certain type of achievement category to work on from there.. but you have to do eye of the north missions to make/unlock other categories..

well, in my games tab on steam
there’s a link to “cd key” and that has the “product code” for the two games i bought
creating a new account, using the product key, leads to address, email, password.. basically registered on gw1 now..
add remaining key to existing account.. now all 4 campaigns are set up

i think now i just use the gw2 website to hopefully accept my gw1 account and everything should be set up    n___n

i bought gw trilogy and eye of the north a few days ago

i downloaded steam and gw1
should i create a “new” gw1 account with my gw2 email?
i heard if you buy gw1 with your gw2 email it links up for you, maybe that doesn’t work with steam oorr maybe i missed something. . .

yeah, if no one farmed champs they would wreak abominable destruction and the event would insta-fail! and y’know, without market manipulation on the trading post the tyrian economy would stagnate and all the servers would crash.. so, yeah

i really like the dynamic events but they are only good for exploring open world at random.. arena net’s solution is, well.. we have really big ones and we’ll tell you when they pop up… ummm, o k.. other mmo’s have used the time proven method of quests, there’s something to do you go do it.. had fun, Done.. maybe do it again later.. actually other mmo’s have improved on it so it’s less daunting.. gw2 has personal story.. you Have to play that race and go through the missions like a gamebook which is cool because it is somewhat non-linear for awhile.. but we all end up killing zombey dragon.. then we battled a saturday morning cartoon supervillain for a year and the astounding mystery was that an Extra dragons war general converged her army against {insert green light somewhere} lions arch.. who wouldn’t feel intellectually engaged at this point?

it seems you had a hard time getting into the profession you chose.. i enjoyed my first profession choice but have had a difficult time building on others.. again, most regular mmo’s try to offer a variety of choices while keeping each one equal or at least relevent to the grand scheme of the game.. i really don’t know if it is pvp or what the influence was, but this game seemed to be oriented toward bubblegum balance.. if you didn’t have a high sentimental value for your character or weren’t comfortable with rolling a flavor of the month then i can’t imagine many mmo players sticking with gw2.. even weapon choice in other mmo’s can leave your character less specialized, but in this one it can put you in a place of being completely irrelevant.

sorry for starting out negative, there are more issues with the game the deeper you get into it.. i think i addressed ones that were relevant to topic.. the best thing to do to enjoy the game is to figure out small goals available to your character.. don’t take it too seriously and try to find people willing to help out.. when you are level 80 you can purchase season 2 storyline missions or do dungeons, broaden the content you involve yourself in etc.
