i didn’t know they were doing halloween, i guess it’s good they are doing something between now and november.. but dragon bash seems more lore tied than adventure box and halloween {oops i mean mad king stuff, which you can argue is traditional guildwars stuff, but i’m pretty sure it’s just hallowweennn} and they didn’t do anything for dragon bash this year not even a simple piñata in lions arch, so whatever.. i’m probably going to involve myself in this years hollween stuff as much as i did last year, which i didn’t
if you like farmville2, then you’re going to love gw2
This patch made me consider buying the next WoW expansion..
lol same thought crossed my mind
already notices quite a few drawbacks with the new interface..
i’m inclined to believe they just simply didn’t have the know how to modify the old one to function better and they simply scrapped it for a newer “better” version
that is, the one that was available by the person available to do it when it was convenient for arena net to implement it
and i’m sure it’ll hold up to scrutiny
umm, because that’s how blast fields work and having a ranged finisher gives you the option of activating the effect at distance or not. . . ?_?
ughh, yeah there’s already a lengthy thread about this
this is actually a pretty fun quest and a great addition to the game, it’s kind of cheesey that players try to stretch it out to grab more loot.. but guess what, the event Does have a fail point and i tried it out a few times and it isn’t even crazy-lucrative..
i’m the last person to promote exploits in this game, but altering this event would probably be a waste of effort
so instead of functioning autonomously and being mostly unreliable, they gave a command function which costs a cast time for a skill which takes the elemental a rather long time to perform making them completely unreliable if you use it
not sure what all was removed but i know nothing positive was added to the game
sorry if my list was vague
i have mystic artifact but it’s not showing up in the collections.. do i need to unlock the skin, there’s no “add to collection bin” or anything like that
don’t wanto needlessly destroy it z_z
pretty sure it’s company policy they aren’t allowed talk about most things
to be perfectly honest, i’d want to talk to the player community as an actual human being but i wouldn’t want to lose my job either
just let dulfy and wooden potato test the content, apparently they get early access
screenshot or didn’t happen ._.
the minis are stealing away to hang out with rytlock z__z
i agree there is something wrong in the production process when content pampers the trading post piranhas and makes it practically unbearable for the rest of the player community
stepping backwards is the only way to get the carrot on a stick. . .
unfortunately the first ‘collection’ that grabbed my interest was this one and arena net did a horrible job with it.. it’s nothing more than homage to their trading post tycoons and i have no further interest in any new content until a responsible solution is provided
it says i’m on tier 2 of junk
i’m looking at some of the alt changes and there are commanders running around the starter map in areas this character hasn’t even cleared yet.. aside from immersion breaking, don’t you think it’ll get annoying having to join a squad on every new map you go to to reduce tag spam..
#tagspam
snip
so you think a 5000% increase on quest item price is normal? obviously if arena net wanted people to do the content entirely on their own they would not have placed tradable items in the collection.. if you bothered to look at the opening post, its image depicts not just price gouging but also poor availability on certain items.. which is a tell of rarity.. do they expect us to do certain events xxxxxxx times? until it becomes a complete joke? what is arena net trying to do, exactly? issue 5 golden tickets to the chocolate factory? {and yes, veruca salt is going} the aforementioned collection is a shamble
perfect world international ?_?
i thought people couldn’t afford commander tags
what’s that you say, it was all lies?
arena net caved and a new feature is practically polluting tyria
hmm, that’s never happened before
now they’ll have to put in overtime for a needed feature disabler
or they’ll just disregard the situation for a year
arena net allowed tradable items And simple patch information to make their game content practically unplayable for the majority of players…
please, read the above statement and make excuses for it without sounding foolish
so i was moderately enthusiastic this morning about maybe getting something new in my home instance.. and with the treasure hunter achievement {collection} you can have an “enchanted treasures chest”
so let’s just take a quick look at a sampling of all the wonderful fun i decidedly will not be involving myself in anytime soon, if ever.. i am just far too faint-hearted in the face of all this fun of being scalped and price gouged by fellow treasure hunters
so good luck all you tyrian adventurers! i tip my hat to the wondrous endeavor ahead
supposedly there are performance improvements in this patch
aside from that i am in agreement with those who see most of the changes as things you’d get on a regular basis from other games.. at no point would anyone consider it a serious overhaul and i hope arena net doesn’t either, otherwise they are simply not playing with a full deck of cards.. i do however feel the things that have been delivered this year show vastly better decision making than previous installments..
i could care less about adventure box, but seriously.. you don’t have anyone over there who could have put some extra time in to throw a handful of dragon piñatas, burnable effigies, or sweep out the dead lion statue? {sorry, this has little to do with the feature patch, but it’s things like this and the patch itself that makes me question arena net’s allocation of resources scarlet briar – ‘hooray, for progress’
tanky elementalist ?_? :\
why do people write these the day before a patch. . .
oops, clearly stated already.. sry, i’m usually on message suppression >_>
i could care less what they do with their spare time, as long as they are doing their jobs proficiently.. i remember people got all bent out of shape when a developer stated they didn’t thoroughly test a large encounter on one of the patches.. i don’t expect the contractor to test every bolt and board that goes into a house.. more on subject, there’s an ideal that every programmer develops their game and then stays at the office all night playing it.. in any case i really don’t think arena net plays their game the same way their customers expected to and only this year have i seen ‘common sense’ changes being taken toward the issue.
this burst combo is the cheese arena net tossed us about a year ago and the lemmings rejoiced. . . you do realize that if you use your arrow keys and your keyboard the elementalist will most likely get screwed up and die?.. or were you also running an elementalist, because otherwise i don’t see this scenario being as drastic as you portray it
what are you talking about, there aren’t any broken builds in gank wars 2, it’s completely balanced
i’m hoping the account link thing will work, but if it doesn’t awhwel.. i’m not really doing this for the achievements.. i’m not a cross game promotions enthusiast.. i remember awhile back if you beat two different metroid games on two different platforms, you could link them and swap samus’ outfit.. {nerd joy} anyway, back to guildwars.. i considered getting the earlier installments but the cheesy unbalance of gw2 was almost enough to make me refuse to support anything guildwars.. the lore is diverse enough to keep me interested though, it reminds me of things like airbender or earthsea.. some things have shown improvement this year and steam put on a good sale, so after 5k hours on this game i’m sure i could spare a few extra for the prequels
seeing how arena net knows their agenda “a year in advance” i’m hoping they have something lore inspired and not just easter egg changes that a large number of players are simply going to overlook..
level 80 experience scrolls and account wide everything confirmed…
i remember when the game launched and magnetic aura did not reflect projectiles.. so in essence, it did nothing.. it looks and sounds cool, it even does a seemingly great job under certain circumstances.. it reminds me of a non-skill, even though it isn’t.. in fact it might be too powerful.. really though, what could be added to this to make it more interesting in a wider variety of builds: retal, protection, maybe an unprecedented stun break
i remember starting out in pwi and someone gifted me a semi-rare pet.. it was from halfway across the continent and above my level, but they wanted me to have something to look forward to
did they donate or was it an exchange to avoid the grueling rng and trading post prices?
if it’s the former, i’m a bit appalled you would allow someone to gift you an 800g precursor rather than immediately pressing the ‘return to sender’ button in the mail tab
i’ll consider this, but i can still go play pwi absolutely free
i’d really like to see the “fiery greatsword” elite changed from the volcanus skin to a two handed battleaxe.. if an elementalist was going to use a sword, i assume it would only need to be a regular one..
i spend most of my tyrian time grinding so when something i ‘need’ comes along i won’t be entirely blindsided
for the purposes of this post, let’s assume gatsby down there is toasting a non-alcoholic beverage
i’ve mostly resigned myself to grinding in this game.. i enjoyed crafting my ascended gear a few months back and sometimes will make some food for myself.. something like fishing would be interesting.. and i suggested a music shop awhile back.. things like this would be a step up from any gw2 mini game and if approached correctly would contribute to the longevity of the series.. unfortunately, i don’t think arena net has the resources to focus on any back-burner projects.. features like that would be quite interesting 2 years into the game, but it seems to me they would do better putting a priority on refortifying the progress they’ve made this year
it looks like someone put in overtime for no reason
they took a few of the suggestions that were made {because there are blaring issues with the interface} and added some convolutions that don’t seem to make things better, just different.. did the balance team get a hold of evon gnashblade or something? i got through the majority of the article but stopped reading it.. maybe i’m just not seeing it, will have to check it out when it’s out.. no, literally.. ’ll have to
putting this here because it involves the hero panel interface
someone suggested having unlockable gathering tools.. i know it is arena net’s decision if they want singular characters to buy individual gathering tools.. but it would be interesting to apply appearances to your tools.. especially if we could make our fancy gem store gathering tools look like the regular ones you get at the merchants {if you want} ..anyway, i had a gather tool suggestion thread awhile ago
an actual person in front of a camera during a work day reading off game facts

i really have to agree with this person’s first post.. and it really just falls under resource allocation and bad decision making.. i’m not going to get into a lot of it, but arena net seems to be more on the ball than they were last year.. personally i feel the un-balance in this game is horrendous and could use better up-keep.. sadly, the vocal minority on the pvp side of things is usually the lying majority.. so, i hope arena net simply takes a rational standpoint in keeping the game characters valid as apposed to ridiculous..
i’m surprised you didn’t reroll earlier ._.
i thought this was going to be the typical waahmbulance q_q quitting thread
but the opening poster seemed to hit the nail on the head
arena net really seems to be at a loss when knowing what to do with the elementalist
since launch i’ve only seen a handful of well thought out useful patch notes.. i know plenty of players who think on a more complex level than i do who’ve seen some of the blaring issues of this game’s un-balance a mile away.. some of them still play, but most of them quit or budget their time on this game to sidestep the many broken aspects of it..
i’m more habitual and will continue to main an elem.. it’s sad though to resign yourself to a game that caters to a checkers crowd when we could all be playing chess
i’ve been on this game for 2 years and i’m usually happiest when i keep to myself.. it’s an ok game.. what really gets me is exploits in every direction and the misguided notion that it’s ‘just the way to go’ and how it has Somehow become some askew gauge of ‘talent’
i’m glad arena net is back to work and put their focus on the playability and lore.. they’ll probably have to deal with the howling of a vocal minority on the forums but in the long run it’s the way to keep the game running with a healthier congregation of players
it’s not a staff, it’s a walking stick
at least that’s the conclusion i’ve come to after scraping so many elementalists off the floor
having 3 trait arrangements saved would be nice
what has really saddened me since i created my character during early start of this game.. there is no save character customization.. sure, it remembers what your settings are as far as the system is concerned, but it’ll never remind you what your character looked like 3 make over kits ago.. :<
same with the dye system..
also, my character experiences some sort of dye system anomaly.. it says ‘dye remover’ but when dye is erased the armor becomes beige.. when the ‘pipette’ is used, no color in my inventory is highlighted.. it does not tell me the dye name, and it can not be saved as a favorite.. it’s bothersome, but i’m reluctant to change the color until i can hunt down what dye it really is x_x
let me know when the trading post players stop jabbing everyone in the sides and arena net establishes a valid way of earning minis
i remember when i was doing my mini collector thing and a week or so later all the prices dropped by like 400%.. never underestimate the marrying of arena net’s whim and the dregs of the player community to make tyrian life a total pain sometimes
