player type 1 – ambient killer daily is too difficult, please make it easier so i can enjoy the game i don’t actually play
player type 2 – scrubbin noobz need to learn how to play, now excuse me while i afk on my absolutely broken build and talk some teamspeak buddies into increasing my loot acquisitions
the boss encounter is tedious but in no way is it impossible.. this was overall a good installment and if arena net diminishes the bugs then they’ve done their job.. try it a few times, adjust your traits.. bring a friend… at the very least if you’re going to criticize, do it constructively

full ascended cleric staff elem, some knight and just switched my sentinel trinkets to soldier.. i use auto target so fiery rush has never done a thing for me.. pretty sure i had my mistfire equipped anyway.. fight started out ok, didn’t notice the menders.. looked at the buff, 8 minutes.. i was like whaaut, something must have debuffed it though.. started trying to manage between menders and statue.. it’s funny how a class with 4 cc skills —--s at it.. when i tried gust it said immune, i couldn’t kill half the menders.. didn’t realize there was so much chill in the fight, i usually cleanse.. anytime i needed a skill i was on recast while futily trying to do.. Anything effectively.. after awhile i was just sick of it, healed up and stopped dodging.. eventually beat the fight on auto-pilot z_z i do however refrain from calling it a poor fight because it did have ok mechanics.. i didn’t have trouble with the liadri fight, i don’t find it a gauge of skill or particularly interesting.. the past 2 living story installments were good despite a few flaws.. as for the opening post, just make a broken character and beat it in 10 mins. . . .

yeah, i scanned the right box.. and if its an “achievement” it’s supposed to be difficult.. you can skip it.. as for the thread title, “doesn’t feel like gw2” is a compliment.. so what if this release is buggy, it’s one of the better ones.. and if you missed an open world event, the chapter is replayable.. people might be tempted to Actually play this game if they keep this up.. schockingly hard to believe, righ’?

sigh.. i noticed this too but i’m not disappointed..
this patch has been one of the better ones despite bugs.. it’s arena net’s attempt to get players to Actually play the game.. seriously, i’ve had a “omigersh there’s something to do in iron marches? i remember this place from blazing through map completion while getting trolled down by every mob in tyria!? 2 years ago” feeling.. up until now, i could have said this mmo isn’t much of an mmorpg.. but now i might actually recommend it to people…

the lore is solid.. the quest was flawed..

i’ve spent like 800g on commissions in the past few months z_z and i’m really particular so it amounted to about 2 usable photos x_x at least the people i worked with though were nice, the best was getting flat out ignored by some of the more popular artists on this subforum, whether their que was open or not.. anyway, it’s really nice to see people get into this game, story, artwork thing.. i won’t clutter up your thread, my story is in my signature.. it may be a bit grittier than anything you’d want to approach, hah.. but if anyone’s interested in drawing something, i can tell you what is currently being worked on

gust simply needs to be cast at point blank range or on a non-moving target.. they even reworked it and sometimes it is buggy.. it’s good for repositioning npc
but for all its uses let’s look at something else, icy ground is a very overpowered snowball mayhem skill.. if modified correctly (900-1k range, 200 for a smaller cast area than some ground targeted skills, and an underpowered launch 200) and obviously this would be in air and not leave a field on the ground.. this would become a great defensive addition to staff, activating on the spellcasters location would be a prized interrupt against all those distance closing stun spammers…

as for shockwave, it’s pretty good actually.. it even rides up/down walls and terrain.. used to be able to cast it turn direction and unleash it on a target, but they changed that.. you have to be facing your target or allow the auto target to reposition your character, otherwise it interrupts itself.. like lightning surge z_z

well, he’s not too proud to carry sohothin around and gut people with it.. charr think asurans are ‘silly’ but go visit irondock shipyard in the ascalon basin.. and what is all this gw1 humans should be cooler angst.. they lost, deal with it.. they were the apex of tyrian civilization, occupied 3 continents.. they still occupy ebonhawk and are dealing with centaurs, they are not showcased as feeble.. and aside from fumbling power handed to them by the gods and decimating territory {jade sea, ascalon, orr} what exactly makes you think they deserve to occupy anywhere other than kryta?

i guess it would be too much like fiery rush then.. i dunno, it’s just the occasions for reversing the skill outweigh its normal use.. almost to the point where it gets annoying

do you think it would be worth developers resources to make some sort of out of combat option to convert burning retreat into a burning advance skill
(unlikely because it’s a weapon skill)
or would you rather they just change it to a forward motion skill instead

no clue.. this skill needs protection though so ‘elemental shielding’ would be a worthwhile trait for staff elementalists

the ghosts in ascalon are magical remnant of a spell.. unfortunately, rytlock may be a prime candidate for an ascalonian hierarchy.. but, deviating from the terms of the spell ‘or counter spell as it may be’ is likely to alter the curse as apposed to removing it..

letting dragons get their claws on magic is a bad idea, it’s not like feeding them milk before bedtime.. they’ll just use that magic to Kill you.. {example, corrupted attendants of Orr} i’m not sure what interactions mordrem will have on the foefire, but resolving the curse is in the charr interest now.. and i think Ryu hit the nail on the head, Rytlock is going to need help.. Alliances will be tested, dun dun dun..

Anyway it doesn’t matter because whatever happens i’m sure players will complain their character isn’t being hailed as the rightful monarch of ascalon z_z like a boss..

we’re in season 2 now, an improved season 1.. so anyone who has been around knows what to expect for the next couple of months.. it’s ultimately arena net’s decision to follow with a season 3 or an expansion.. sadly, i’ve been on since launch and i commend all the improvements living world has accomplished.. but i’m not overly enthusiastic about delving into this season.. i do notice an increase in open world LFG, so i can only assume new players are enjoying the content.. as for this tired and undead thread, which is so original it has us facedesking.. gw2 offering niche mmo features will not determine whether or not it brings back players or retains new ones.. there’s a dynamic of depth and complexity which drives successful mmos.. it’s something arena net needs to drastically improve on {whether future installments include an expansion or a season 3} if they intend to perpetuate a hearty congregation of players

i know if she chose not to be in the warband charr would typically Kill her or just not care about her.. But we are talking about rytlock and he’s no fool {i’m assuming, i actually don’t follow his character too much} but he has sent rox to charr/human peace talks And he does seem to have his own personal interest in the Dragon investigations (he had first hand presence at a ‘thumper’ analysis.. it was in bloodtide coast, i think a lot of people missed it}
i would also maybe want to see an inquest conflicted with what they do.. i love the inquest, they don’t need any goofy motive to be doing evil.. they simply do what they do, But it would be nice to have this sometime during the storyline.. anti-hero potential

seeing how arena net tried to re-invent the wheel and ended up with a square wheel.. no, you’re not ‘playing it wrong’ ..it just is what it is

the way arena net progresses tyria leaves a very, very limited capacity for {non-trivial} alterations involving player collaboration..

yes more teqautl and wurm will fix everything.. the only two wbt events that have commanders and guild heads spamming chat in other events to ‘go there’ and also the only events that get a response ‘meh, i’d rather not’ as apposed to ‘i did that already.’

i’ve already gotten good loot from drytop mobs and i’ve spent very little time there.. most of the mordrem are in instances so far, people would farm story journal.. it’s almost a certainty they’ll be in open world and killable for loot soon

you can’t even adapt from using terms like zerk fest after being proven incorrect with what you are saying.. yet you expect arena net to adapt their game development… i love this forum, i really do. . . . shatter neutralizes crit stat, zerk gear utilizes crit stat.. therefore, shatter does not encourage zerk gear.. it encourages power builds and afk loot.. at the very least it fails to deter against an ongoing gw2 zerk mentality..

regardless, i’d like to see them nuke the shatter afk spot, the jormag ice wall afk spot {which i call the gutter}, and remove the box from the mark golem platform

i like my elementalist because any other profession in this game can solo hard counter it

above poster is correct… with the exception of the sea dragon we’re pretty certain the sequence in which the elder dragons awaken… assume slide 1 is correct.. then it is the zhaitan draconic energy which collides with tyria… interesting, hm? now looking at the other two slides and going from what we believe is canon.. {the colors in the crucible} then the second slide is true and the draconic energies certainly do not excite in the order we’re familiar with? but i can tell you for certain, neither instance shows a blackout of any orb whatsoever.. i recall killing an elder dragon.. so what exactly am i looking at

to summarize, he wasn’t horribly written.. just poorly implemented, the voice is even ok.. but what was arena nets direction on the matter.. ok, get in that sound booth and embrace the push-over-ness of trahearne! they need to hire a new voice actor and.. gee, i dunno.. use him for something other than a ‘move the player characters along’ device

someone did a photoshop of all their characters in relatively the same spot and blended the background.. it looked pretty good, was posted here.. pretty sure people were talking about how they did it, so if you can’t get an artist maybe you could try that.. sorry, i know this wasn’t very helpful :\
