FoW or Vabbi will never win; but I agree, if these two outmanned servers are separated, player from FoW or Vabbi can “do” something as two other servers fight neck to neck. Yes they will be dominated, but wont have constant “spawn camp”.

First if you are not dumb enough to equip both of them, just save 1 for your other character.

Second if you had equip both of them and become soulbound, upgrade 1 of them >>> in will unbound (if they dont change it).

Third its not the end of the world. So deal with it.

They have a disadvantage, and that’s having a kitten camera angle.

You see SO much more as a norn/charr ( field wise ) compared to asura. Even while downed you see more as a bigger char.

Except, no one has this problem.

Well, in my case, it has disadvantage especially in melee in fighting larger opponent (especially male charr).

They only need to adapt. Some of players cannot do this. As the result: whine, TPvP player sees WvW is bad, WvW player sees TPvP is bad. But if TPvP player can adapt to WvW environment, TPvP player will surely win every fight. (which is rare, most of them cannot adapt to WvW environment).

PS: WvW build can do well in PvP environment, its also vice-versa.

Server Match up is terrible

The new system is working great. They only need to tune the number now. 1/-1 (maybe there is 0) will not ever work (it work to normalize the rating). Its need to be tuned down to 0.5/-0.5.

Currently, Anet only have 1 data of complete match with new system. The second one still ongoing. It will take a while before they get “enough” data to tuned the new system.

This happen when you play too much. Its also the same with other MMO or games. If you played too much, you will become bored pretty fast (especially in PvE part).

In MMO there is no endgame. What is the endgame in WoW ? What is the endgame in Lineage ? What is the endgame in Terra ? etc.

I agree that GW2 need more exciting boss mechanic. Each boss is pretty unique. In addition of that, it needs bug to be fixed, class to be balanced, etc.

No AOE cap, no cap retal incoming. You do barage/meteor, hit 60 people, 200*60 = 12000, for 1 hit. (boon capped ? Sure, you can make sure there are 12 guardian inside your zerg, make party, each party has a guard + any class with blast finisher (boon favor party) = all 60 get retal.). Remove AOE cap just make zerg bigger and bigger and the one who can put retal boon in entire zerg win the battle.

Bug with Ranger Lick Wounds

It heal 1000 + of ranger HP. You need to interrupt his pet ASAP or down him ASAP. (the former is the best way). Lick wound will summon ranger pet (if too far from him) near him directly, but will not summon ranger pet if its near him. Interrupt when pet starting to heal him (not before).

The only thing that warrior need is:
1. Viable gap closer (cannot be immobilized, slow)
2. Better physical damage mitigation (protection+good source of heal (big regeneration)).
3. 1 more skill for condition removal.
4. Increased attack damage based on HP lost and condition. (Like tryndamere in LoL. Rage consume: heal, hp lost: more crit/damage).

(warrior as the blueprint need to be taken down by condition (not physical)).

I hate warrior due to:
1. Bunker warrior is below average than any bunker class. (Yeah, My class has the biggest HP pool (YIPPEEE) but no damage mitigation (its true in PvE too, my ele can withstand a champion in a long run (not spike), my warrior can only withstand a spike but not damage in long run (both use PVT armor)) and poor condition removal).
2. DPS warrior is also below average than any DPS class (you need to use almost all your utility just to do HB and its die or not gamble).
3. all warrior utility skills are subpar with other classes (physical skills are a joke (anyone use kick ?), some signets are a joke too, the only viable: banner or shout).
4. No viable gap closer (you can be slowed/immobilized.)

Good thing about warrior:
1. I have a lot of cc mechanic.
2. I have big HP pool
3. The most balance class in the game (surprise ?). Buffing and nerfing the most balance class in game is the hardest decision. Buff may lead overbuffed, nerf may lead overnerfed.

Skilled warrior is subpar with other skilled classes. (the only thing warrior can kill you: caught you off guard, you dont have any break stun skill (which means its all your fault)).

Warrior: “Master of weapon but master of nothing.”

DPS meter only grows elitism. DPS meter for yourself is not bad and only track yours. But its become bad if it can check other player DPS.

RNG is not a bad thing, but put everything into RNG is the one which is bad.

Wintersday is a good example. You dont need to put everything to RNG. You can buy skin for gems (although when wintersday community also want Anet put unbreakable choir bell as Gem Item (not RNG), they dont put it) or you luckily get it from RNG box which cost less.

ps: Most people tend to buy RNG thing with in-game money not real money.

wait… so in EU the enemy that outnumbers you 4 to 1 builds 6 ACs for no apparent reason? Someone better correct me before I say something to get myself into trouble, because thats just plain stupid.

Sometimes you may rush them. But with vale wall, red circle in front of vale door, what will you think ? Enemy may be larger or have a large amount of siege.

The only thing I see funny, why the hell your world team still guarding vale, especially in front line ? Go cap other camps, while leave a group of thief in there (fast, stealth) just to prolong encounter (it looks like you wont give up). Until your other team do the job and their zerg left the camp, destroy their siege.

If you want to defend:
1 3 catas in supervisor room (match the timing)
2. 5 – 10 AC everywhere
3. 5 ballista
4. 2 Trebs to hit bay (only 2 reason in defending vale: 1 bay, 2 tower upgrade).
5. 5 guardian (shield, wall, stability, hammer, staff), 5 gs/focus+x mesmer (staff necro will do) with boon removal.
6. /emote You Shall not Pass.
(its a bit excessive, you can defend with less than that).

Seriously, where is the range nerf ?

AC is so kitten now. No LoS, range when traited equal to ballista, have better chance to hit, have full damage 5/9 of ballista (non upgraded), 6 s (vs 10 s), 30 supply. Too much power in single siege.

Its better if you change the range, looks majority of player opinions. Good ? Next step, plan to reset. Bad ? Revert. No waste energy in your developer team (your team can concentrate in other problem).

(+funny if you reset now, meanwhile you have implement free chest for every new gained rank).

I know how to fix this, all projectile based siege need supply to be used.
Ram = no need supply.
Golem= eat 1 supply for 500 range movement (using portal also eat supply)
Treb = eat 10 supply for each shoot.
Cata = eat 5 supply
Ballista = eat 3 supply
AC = eat 2 supply
In addition, every 1000 range movement, player use 1 supply. Every 10 move, use 1 supply.

2, but they need to revisit the math behind this, so at least it is random between 1 tier to top and 1 tier to down. (It will make T1 will potentially fight T2, T2 will potentially fight T1 or T3, and so on until last tier Tx will potentially fight Tx-1).

Edit: Better add difference in score to the math (not only volatility).

Wrong, necro is a good artist, they can make a picture which make people have nose bleed when they watch it (….. err.. step it).

ps: the last de-buff from boss clarifies that heavy DPS is the only crucial thing in this encounter. (compare to path 2 AC boss, heavy DPS check, controller check, 1 – 2 ghostbuster check, 1 supporter check.).

The boss has been done with low DPS. It’s not as bad as you are exaggerating. Also, AC Path 2 boss is NOT a DPS check. Perhaps you need to refresh your memory on what a DPS check is.

Heavy dps make the boss melt faster (you dont need it actually, but you still need DPS to damage the boss or you will have long encounter). Thats why I list 4 job you have in that encounter, supporter for support (heal,boon), DPS well he will do DPS directly once boss can be attacked, ghostbuster to make sure traps working, controller to control the boss (aka agro). 1 people can do 2 jobs (DPS+control). Looks how the encounter should be. Path 2 AC is far the best encounter (some people called it annoying) I have ever seen.

I wonder how many of you people whining about how easy it is to cheese this boss looked up Dulfy’s guide before doing it yourself?

No need to cheese, this boss does not even need the guide. No cheese or bug exploit I use in my first encounter. Boss like this is CoF path 1 effigy category. Big DPS, the better. (at first encounter, we all bring mine-sweeper, but in 2 minutes after he makes shield, we realize, you only need 1).

I feel this dungeon does not even ready to be released

1. No cut-scene or scripted dialog at beginning of dungeon. (Kiel just standing there for what ?)
2. Short dungeon does not make NULL encounter better. (They can make MF dungeon with a lot of NPC AI and mechanic (+ the dungeon is long enough), but they cannot make 1 mechanic to be a decent one).

Story:
+ Straightforward encounter, not too hard. Unique mechanic (unless you use bug).
- Lag can ruin everything (after patch is lag fest), sometimes mine bugged.
Score: 7/10
Explorable:
+ yay I can hit the boss
- Another spank, hack, slash encounter, unique mechanic from story mode does not appear in explorable (you need only 1 mine to destroy boss shield… meh), nothing which force you to dodge, if boss pulled you, nothing happen except you pulled into land mine, bad mechanic before the boss die (this is why more DPS is better).
Score: 2/10.

ps: score: higher is better.
pps: My point of view for story is: to learn the mechanic before explorable one.

Just because a designers is not telling you what to do does not necessarily mean you are going to be lost

Except the yellow text in your chat box that tells you his shield is up and that you should try to make him walk on a mine.

When his shield up, I directly understand what to do. The one which makes this encounter boring: this encounter is another hack and slash. More DPS is better. Shield break in the first time he touch the mine, which mean you only need 1 mine-sweeper + 1 any mine and only when his shield up. (This also ruin my expectation, my expectation, to break his shield, need several mine and only specific mine).

Once you know this, encounter is easy. Spank NULL in non mined area while not far away there is a mine which can be activated, once NULL shield is up, pull NULL to this area, back to safe area, spank him again, repeat until he dies. (looks like Anet also really want to hey….. you need more DPS by using electro debuff (15/20 % of his HP) rather than using strategy or cooperation).

Cannach encounter is better than NULL.

NULL challenging ? Nope (seriously no). AC path 2 boss is more challenging than NULL. It has far far far better mechanic than NULL has.
1. In order to destroy NULL shield, you need only 1 mine.
2. Only 1 person need to do the job to “activate” the mine, and all 4 rolling behind the mine once it activated.
3. Pull boss again to safe area and start to slash and hack.
4. Repeat until boss die.

ps: the last de-buff from boss clarifies that heavy DPS is the only crucial thing in this encounter. (compare to path 2 AC boss, heavy DPS check, controller check, 1 – 2 ghostbuster check, 1 supporter check.). This boss almost no different from arah path 1 boss (beware of those kittens red circle, but DPS the boss, the only different NULL has shield and mine explodes when you near it).
pps: mines are not random !!

It will different if: NULL has 3 kinds of shield (by color, RGB). R >> destroyed by land mine, G >> destroyed by poison mine, B >> destroyed by caltrops mine. It has 3 or 5 stacks (which mean you need 3 or 5 mine to take down the shield entirely), when NULL shielded, you get electro… debuff, stack if too long and end when shield down. To make it more challenging, if NULL steps in wrong mine, it will unleash electric shock which deal heavy damage and daze all player (unavoidable, unblock-able) Every 25% HP lost, NULL will summon an electric minion, no damage to player but slow moving in circle. This minion will deactivated green mine and make it to red mine in 600 range.

Story Mode
-. Damage using environment trap: good idea, not bad. Implementing in story dungeon: Not bad after all, it may be for practice for explorable one.
(good here)
Explore Mode
-. Just bashing your fist to golem (faster better: 4 berseker, 1 mesmer tw), 1 mine to destroy golem shields (which you can do is to make the golem stand in mine area (as they are not random)), and kill before electro…. build up.
(Meh….. It just like the good mechanic in story dungeon becomes a waste).

For Cannach, people will not know him unless they do karka invasion meta event (opening southson cove).

For dungeon story telling: is the worst I have ever seen.
1. When you go inside the dungeon in story mode, both NPC just silently standing there. No scripted dialog or no cut-scene. Anet expect player to talk to Kiel to know what to do or what is going on in the dungeon.
2. Exit dungeon door always been there. To make it worst, is delayed scripted dialog. What you expect ? Icon glowing before scripted dialog kicks in, people clicks this icon, and gets out from this gloomy dungeon.
3. The guard outside the dungeon do silent parade. No shout like “shhh, I need to speak with you.”

Why is ascended gear unique? Any reason?

Purpose ?
1. Limiting people to use more than 1 item (as the item may too strong).
2. Its unique according to lore. (which mean there is only 1 item in 1 story (lore)).

Except, of course, it couldn’t be one of those, because:
1. you can use defensive/ovensive combo (and one versatile infusion), or uninfused/infused version combo to achieve the same result you could have if the item wasn’t unique. In both cases the end results are equally strong.
2. The items may be named, but there is no history behind them, they don’t appear in story, but as a random drop (or from a vendor, but that came later).

So… no real reason at all.

1. It may be too strong: This case only happen in WoW (Imagine you have 2 legendary same name in your character).

2. Player may see it as it only a name. But let see:
Althea’s Ashes
Ancient Karka Carapace
Appleseller’s Lucky Cog
Imperial Chef Yileng’s Golden Spoon
Warmaster’s Family Heirloom
Maybe they don’t have a background story around it, but the developer feel it as their name is connected to a person or certain item in the lore (and they want player feel it too). Thus they make it unique. (It is same as relic in real world. Maybe they don’t have story behind it, but it becomes one of sign that an era exist or one of sign that an event exist in the past).

Implementation in WoW: you cannot have more than 1 in your character (but you may have 1 in another character). You can only equip 1 of this item, unless its told otherwise. This is due to no-sharing bank.

Implementation in GW2: You may have as many as you want (due to sharing bank); but for each of your character, you can only equip 1.

Purpose ?
1. Limiting people to use more than 1 item (as the item may too strong).
2. Its unique according to lore. (which mean there is only 1 item in 1 story (lore)).

In gw2, each character = each story (they have separated story).

Extra 5 stats ? No, it doesn’t make any difference, except that stat is agony resistance.

Having an annoying time on Southsun Cove

Just saw a complete group of around 20/30 people get one shotted by an event of champion karkas. I take it back that the content is for groups, annoying one shotting champs with out of control animations are not fun in my book.

That and being repeatedly snared/immobilized by them, why no cool-down on that annoying skill.

There is. Vet/champ karka either do: lay eggs (2 times)/poison >>> immobilize (2 sometimes 1) >>> jump for ground shake/rolling. Champ Karka ground shake will 100% down you. You can evade it right after this champ jump and achieve maximum height. Or if your latency is a bit bad (not trully bad), you can evade it just after she jumps.

What skill you need to survive in this island:
Condition removal (if you have more than 1 is better)
Other ? Stability or something along that (which can wake your character faster).

ps: this may be hard for thief (well they have stealth) and necro (poor class….)
Tips: never do vet karka if you are solo, its wasting time. If you want karka shell better play crab toss or kill young karka.
Note: almost all native events in this area are group events.

WvW: Camps need upgrades to be worthwhile!

The only upgrade it needs: one type of the guard (scout) has true sight (for herself) so she can detect stealthy player.

Solution:

Fact: 90% a tower/camp/keep/castle can be soloed due to lack stealth detection on the guard.
Let say: if a Keep/tower/castle/camp lord has true sight for him/herself, a stealthy will have hard time to solo.
Thus:
1. Camp supervisor has true sight after guard upgrade (non upgraded camp still soloable).
2. Scout has true sight after guard upgrade.
3. Keep/tower/castle lord has true sight from beginning.
4. Bay shark has true sight after guard upgrade.
True sight only available for the selected guard only (so other guards will not attack stealthy player). In addition this will make upgrade for patrol guard/yak guard not useless. (scout or shark can find stealthy, reduce the number of place for hide).

Other problem: NPC priority attack is not player. >>> ranger/necro can solo by sacrifice their pet/minion. It should be, if the player is in the range of 900 from NPC, NPC will aim the player instead of pet/minion. In addition NPC deal 50% more damage to illusion, pet, or minion. (Need intelligent AI implementation).

Veteran Karka Retaliation - what causes it?

Its usually happen when it in phase 1: 75%, 50%, 25%, 0% hp (it will evade all of your attack during this time (shell begins to break slowly)).

Counter ? Necro, Mesmer, Thief. Or you may want to kite until it dissipate.
