Solution: Allow people to de-construct sieges which is has been in game for 15 minutes. Result: siege gone (no supply back or blueprint back).

So instead the saboteur will go around and deconstruct all you trebs, ballista, AC’s and catas right before an attack comes so you’ll have zero defenses left.

Its better than you cannot put any siege to defense. The meta of this game allowed siege to be build in a second. (as long as you have supply).

There is another solution:
-. Treat siege like consumable which have requirement lvl. Lets say 15 or 20.

Ram issue: as I have seen: it has longer despawn timer than any other sieges (ram is still there even though your tower has upgraded to lvl 2 door upgrade finish (which take more than 15 minutes).

Solution: Make all sieges have 15 minutes despawn timer. (Except superior and golem which should have 30 minutes despawn timer).

or

Solution: Allow people to de-construct sieges which is has been in game for 15 minutes. Result: siege gone (no supply back or blueprint back).

This will not prevent a saboteur for wasting supply, but it will prevent them to achieve siege cap.

I hope they dont change (or rollback) the current chest drop table. If they rollback, these chests only contain junk with very low chance to get even green.

Does 1 rare guarantee chest has a probability to get exotic ?

(actually I want to see karka champion boss dropping mega – chest also. In addition I want to see upgraded loot table in all bosses)

If I remember right smokee predicted BG to lose by ~50k and considering its closer to 30k coming up to reset, I for one think the match up between BG and JQ is in a good place (even considering the few coverage gaps) I think if SoR can fill in a few gaps and gain a stronger over all presence, T1 can get closer to being “balanced”

In my opinion, it could have been 50k or more if JQ wanted it to be. I gotta give em props to be honest. They’ve done a great job at using the scoreboard and PPT trends to determine when to give it some gas and when to lay off the pedal. It would not be in JQs interest to run up the score, as it would only potentially entice more stacking to try and beat them, which would be bad for everyone.

I can only speak towards JQ NA, but its definitely seemed like we’ve been a lot more laid back on anything that wasn’t reset day and even then we’ve been pretty good at keeping the ppt pretty close, sometimes leading most of the night. So to say that we’re being carried by FOO is inaccurate as it implies that we can’t do anything during other time zones. Heck, this week has had two SF Necro nights where we were 90% upleveled necros and one night where SF and PRX were doing Guild Missions followed up by very brief but dramatic appearances on SoR BL instead of 5-6 hours of warfare.

I don’t think anyone is implying that JQ was carried by FOO or any one part of your server. FOO’s time zone is only more noticeable due to the massive PPT JQ gains during that time. From some one that doesn’t play during that time and only watches the scores, it seems like the other time zones are fairly even (to a point) then FOO comes on and puts up a strong PPT to gain a lead. Since Neither me or Liquid are on JQ we can’t speak facts about what these guilds plans are, we can only make assumptions based off the information we have.

Why don’t you ask to other guild ? It seems like BG only have 1 guild which is your guild. Try asking Thai, ND, MeRC, etc. Ask their commanders. Communication between guild is always needed.

Orange Swords (The recent change)

Anet should realize: even though they change the number how orange sword will behave, zerg will always be used. The change to 25 will give benefit to attacker, but not to defender.

Does this change implement new strategy ? No. A zerg strategy will always be used, and with this system Anet encourage it more.
Does this change implement will force people to organize ? A big No. 25 man zerg (group) does not need to organize if they attack something (as they remain undetected). In addition, there is no consequence if you do careless “attack”. This is different from 5 man threshold. Just only because 1 man attack the door, all your ninja plan is screwed.)

But why in the past we want a change in how orange sword is behaved ?
5 man threshold is too small. A party is consist of 5 man. Orange sword should not appear if only 1 party attacking a NPC or door.

Thus, I think the threshold should be lowered to 10 man. With 25 threshold, it does not discourage a zerg but it encourage more zerg.

Stealth should be broken after that offensive ability resolved (end of ability).”. This will make any player who use stealth play carefully and strategically.

I think stealth is fine as it is on block/miss/evade and so on… No damage = no broken stealth.
It should be broken when using caltrops or poison fields … Damage = broken stealth.
That I must admit is OP now … you can build up stealth and keep spamming caltrops stacking AoE beeding, definetly not fair.

Caltrops is a trick, poison fields is a an offesive ability. It should broke stealth although its not giving damage (in proposed nerf).

No damage = no broken stealth. This one which makes stealth an OP ability (especially thief).

This is why you need scout (not only inside tower/keep). In BL, you need scout in water area. While in EB is easy to spot (as the map is so small and the path is straightforward).

I agree with soggy, Anet should set a minimum number for glicko rating. Lets say 1000. This will make if server from top fall (T7) to T8, they only need a short time to get to T7 again.

(As we can see FC and ET rating is so small thus make SF evolution (positive) rating is so small. But if we set a minimum number, SF rating can jump directly just by 1 – 2 win (this should be accompanied with addition rule, the rating jump cannot be more than 50 thus they cannot jump directly to T6).

Server population =/= WvW population. Which make your question invalid. There is one good example for a server which have lower population but can compete very well (and it is in T2):

Piken Square: medium population can compete very well with Seafarer (High) and Jade Sea (Very High)

25 threshold for orange sword is too large (Anet can implemented, if only if a node is starting to show white crossword if hit by 3 people with at least 100 dmg per attack or a siege or 1 of the guard died, contested (WP) if 30 people hit at a specific time window (this will make sure WP open)). Anet should realize, with 25 man threshold for orange sword to be seen is more favorable to attacker (which is almost always a zerg), not defender.
I think: 10 (2 parties) for orange sword (shown after 11th man) is better.

Additional implementation: orange sword can only be seen near non neutral capture-able(sentry, camp, tower, keep, castle) and yak (with guard upgrade). This will give feeling if the guards/sentries ask for help.

I found it same to me (as this culling patch did not fix culling in server). If you find it worse, maybe its your machine. If you still believe your machine is a beast, why dont you try to reduce the detail of graphic and see if there is any difference or no.

(FYI: I always reduce the graphic detail, because in WvW I dont need any detail of graphic. I dont need to see your gear/race too much detail, I dont need to see the detail of the door, tree, shadow, etc. I only need color of enemy (mono red/blue/green). (I believe this also decrease the burden of graphic card, processor, reducing bottle neck, reducing utility of ram, etc)).

For PvE, I dont feel any difference too. (I think this culling patch does not affect PvE (maybe I wrong)).

The big problem in this boss is the shade. I feel like the range of shade attack is longer than it should (melee range). Make a half group of your zerg to kite this shade (or kill them).

Its better if you run with your guild. (I believe in small population server has a high chance to open this temple as there will be (almost) no pugs)

For the mechanic it self, if you equip your talent with 50% falling damage reduction and have a good awareness, you will be doing fine. Its preferable if you switch between range weapon and melee weapon. There are 2 pattern of attack:
1. Vortex (vacuum) >>> ice, following number 2 after that
2. Dunno what the priest do (but nothing significant) >>> ice, following number 1 after that.
1 is for range attack, 2 is for melee attack.

FYI: If you fully died just release and run back.

I agree that GW2 UI customization is very limited. I also agree that some important information is not well provided (example the duration of boon and condition which is the white border of the boon/condition does not give exact information of boon/duration you have.).

But for the stance UI GW 2 cause MIB, I disagree with you. I agree with Ephemeris.

MIB is happen everywhere and anytime (in real world and in game). Its human nature. But human learn how to overcome this problem. Thus to blame GW 2 UI because your poor gameplay (with MIB skin) is a no no.

But if we can put slightly customization in it, then bring it on (but its not because MIB or poor gameplay).

(maybe in your case, like Lil Puppy post, you are sitting to close to your monitor or your room to dark. The environment condition can also cause MIB problem.)

It is like if you buy 100 lottery, you have a good chance to get the prize than you buy 1 lottery. More loot = more chance to get rare item (as you have 100 chance). But as in lottery, you may also lose all.

I`d rather people don`t post if they have no idea of the basics of MF. MF does not increase the amount of loot you get, it only increases rarity of the item you get.

“Everytime you kill a monster you roll on a number of tables, inside these tables are different rarity categories. Magic find increases the chances you will get higher categories. For example if there is a 1 in 10 category, and you have 200% magic find you will have 3/10 chances to get that category. This improves not just the rarity of the items you get but can also improve your chances at getting trophies and rare crafting materials like lodestones.” © wiki

Maybe its only me.

When I use non of MF gear in my character, 5 monster, only 1 drop, when I use MF consumable which give me 26% MF, 5 monster, 3 drop (1 of 3 is material, else rubbish), when I use full MF gear + consumable, 5 monster, 4 drop, get material 3 out of 4.

Maybe it just me, my luck with monster dropping a loot is suck without MF. (only found 1 loot from 5 and its grey). (I am a SOLO farmer (no competition with other player) almost all of the time).

The one which I know, MF is also push the chance of rarer loot to drop higher. (thats why I get better loot (which is blue (material)) in MF also.)

Maybe the true loot table:

yellow
orange
pink
(purple)
Top is more common. If the loot table is like this, the wiki is correct but it also indicate you receive more loot with MF gear.

MF only increase your chance to get loot. Every loot works like a lottery. You may get the prize or you may lose the prize.

The good news, with MF gear, you will rarely get grey and white item. The problem: blue will be added to your new grey and white item.

This make no sense!

I had experience it in fractal when I use my MF gear (in dredge): I get 50 bags, 2 shards, a rare, some of grey, white item. When I am not using my MF gear: I get about 20 bags, no shard, glob, etc, lot of grey, white item (edit: the amount of item when I am not using my MF gear is far lower than I am using my MF gear).

I think they left out “knight, cleric, etc” thing from the merchant because (maybe) in the future, we can craft ascended gear (if you see in crafting filter, it has ascended below exotic). The problem is when will Anet implement it ?

Upleveling results since patch

Hello, I am a SPVP only player. I tried to get into PvE but hated downleveling and I tried to get into WVW (after I hit 30 in SPVP) but I couldn’t get into it because even with upleveling I was getting rolled by 80s (even though I do very well in SPVP).

Now, I am considering leveling in WvW because of the new buffs to upscaling. I was just curious (since I’m at work) if anyone out there can tell me if it has made any difference in a lower level character fighting an 80.

Thanks to Jade Quarry for warm welcome to server last week for our stay. Had alot of fun on US. We can at least say we did it now. Was fun here is some footage in cyrils new video. Good luck to the US t1 guilds.

I am so glad you posted this video to just show how poor of sportsman you are. This is what RG is all about, abusing whatever they can and everything they can to win. Culling is already an issue and your guild goes ahead to make sure to use the AC potion to make sure you stay even longer invisible on top of mesmer stealth veil! You’re guild’s amazing because you make sure your enemies never see you and never will because you’ll abusing every bit of what culling it has to offer.

RG has no strategy just a giant culling abusing zerg.

Funny to see your post.
1. AC potion does not prolong the stealth time.
2. Invisible in tactical meaning is to break enemy line (not abusing culling). (If you see the video again, after 20 minutes, you will see both zergs are using mesmer veil).
3. RG zerg is smaller than most of the zerg (while they in JQ (they only have 15 members in JQ at that time).

I think you should learn how these guild run. Compared to EU guilds, most of NA server guilds cannot compete with EU server guilds. (what you should do is learn from them (which has been started by some of the guilds)).

This is all so wrong. ANet has confirmed repeatedly (check many pages back in the developer tracker) that server populations are not determined by how many people are online, but by how many accounts are linked to a server. The only way for a server to drop from “Full” to “High” is if people from that server transfer to another server, freeing up their spot for someone else.

Wait…. Huh ? Now this a new contradiction. Wiki and the fact said differently.

If the system like in developer tracker, the system will work like WoW (the server will remain full all day (or at least most of hours in the day). But in fact, is not.

Exploit or not, only Anet can answer as the current population system allow this to happen (which I hope Anet clarify this problem (including why they choose dynamic population system to determine population of the server according the number of player which are online at a given time (as EU and NA will never merged)).

There IS a queue to log in to a server. It’s called an overflow.

Overflow is not a queue to log in to a server. Its a queue for an instanced map. What considered you are log in to server: your account has been authenticated (which is login screen).

Say 1000 (sample only) are allowed on at once.

100 people log off, 100 people transfer…there is still only 1000 people allowed online at once.

A bit wrong. I think GW2 does not have limit how many people online at once. Its only have threshold for determining server poplation (like if there is more than 999 people online at a time, the server will full, but less than that, the server will be very high, high, medium, low). If GW2 has a limit to the number of people which are online, it is a little weird: there is almost no history people suddenly DC-ed from the game (apart of network error), you can still login in any prime time and play without any negative effect, and the last, the system to determine the population of the server they used (if there is a limit to the number of people which online, the maximum number of population will be set (static))

I dont know why Anet does not use static number based on registered user in the server to determine server population as current population system has made a gap between every server population become bigger and bigger.

The paid transfer should be implemented after 14/2 (which is after WvW “biggest change” plan (maybe should implemented at the end of the February ?)).

If the change can attract PvE-er to WvW (for about 14 days), I think there wont be any panic (mass guild transfer because they afraid their server cannot compete).

LMAO, instead of asking for a change in game mechanics, figure out a way to counter it yourself. Plenty of people have.

And how is throwing AoE on the ground not a counter? You know where they are trying to stealth. It’s not random, its smart placement of your AoE.

Mesmer clone is not a stealth. You can know a real mesmer easily as it can be seen (all this clone is a stupid NPC which just do 1 – 2 type of attack) and usually the real one is the one in the back. In addition this clone is far from perfect, it does not copy original mesmer stat/buff (which mean if these clone unbuffed, you know this is clone or if you see mesmer with upleveled or 100% map completeion, its the real one).

An item only giving revealed debuff, which mean thief (or any class which is stealthed) still in the stealth but he can be seen for limited time and limited area. This is not change game mechanic (as revealed status has been there, they just need to make an item with this mechanic (they have done it with agony debuff which is I believe adding/changing the game mechanic itself) but it gives the game more strategy (and of course more gold sinking). (I think this must be done because this game does not even have any mechanic to counter stealth directly except throwing “smart” AoE/attack in unlimited movement environment).

Your argument is also invalid, first thief has much more way to stealth himself (not just shadow refuge). Second, you know thief will use stealth, throw your AoE there. Again your argument invalid. Its working if thief does not move or stupid enough to move faster. Smart placement AoE for thief is only an advertisement. Looks good but never happen (as placement of AoE still have more than 50% to miss).

Agree. Anet should revisit this thief mechanic as there is no counter for this skill (throwing random AOE or attack randomly is not counter; this is not happen in other MMORPG). It can be done by nerfing, making revealed debuff longer (if the thief attacked before stealth), or make an item (consumable (sensor or flare)) to give revealed debuff to the thief and make some NPC (supervisor, keep lord, upgraded scout guard, tower lord, SM lord) can detect stealthy (but not giving revealed debuff to thief).

PS: maybe some recruiter should learn from Kaineng, Yak Bends, or Maguuma (and few of Euro server (which make story about server)). They composes their thread beautifully to attract people to their server. (show them how much fun to fight for those server).

Incoming AoE nerf and rezzing in WvW

This is one of ridiculous plan coming from “people” who had experience in MMORPG (and had learnt much from them).

AoE become lethal in PvP because PvP arena in GW2 is so small. Lot of choke points everywhere. In addition area around of capture point and circle of capture point are small. All of these will eventually limit player movement. What they need to do is redesign all of this arena to giving more open area, make circle for capturing point a bit bigger, etc. (Compare it to WvW, where your movement is almost limitless). Or if Anet want to nerf AoE ability, they only nerf it in PvP, not in PvE or WvW (currently AoE in PvE or WvW (especially long range AoE) is almost not useful).

Another ridiculous change: only can res people when you are out of combat. Really ? Res-ing people in combat has been a hard choice for people (if they res their team, they will undefended), just imagine if you fighting a boss and you cannot res your teammate. Your team will eventually wiped out (this is clearly shown in Fractal). What Anet needs to change is to reduce the speed of player to revive people (by making it 1/5 or 1/10 from now is enough), limit resurrector to 4-5, and make stomping progress faster.

Enhancing a single damage output is more than welcome (but if I remember, almost all skills are AoE, the only one without AoE is thief and GS mesmer(1 skill only) (ninja buff for them ?)). But again if it is not taken care, it will become ridiculous. (imagine killshot can have damage 20k, backstab 20k, etc).

Before you craft any armor or buy any rune or sigil, you should decide what role you want to take (although this game does not have “trinity system”, there is still tank (keep agro in check, can eat more damage including mitigate it, etc), DPS, and healer; you can be a balance class also).

Once you decide it, you should check combination of stats according the role you want, for tank: vit and tough is a must, boon duration, healing power (sometimes tank is also a healer (usually heavy armor class)), condition removal duration/skill, for DPS: condition duration, power, precision, condition damage, critical damage, a bit survival (but it not must), for healer: healing power, boon duration, condition removal (soldier rune (shout condition removal),etc), if you want to live long just build like a tank, if you want to have DPS, build more power/condition damage (depends on your class).

Last, before you buy your stuff, check your build in heart of the mist (PvP main area). You can buy all rune and sigil here, you can try any combination of armor, you can try your trait build. All of these are free. To check, you dont need to go to PvP. In the north there is 8 NPC from every class, a bit south from there, there is golem to check your damage (without crit). Test your build there (some of them will be too strong for certain build. But its OK, there is no dead penalty in heart of the mist). Once you are good, you may buy what you need from TP or crafting them (If you dont see any combination which you want, check dungeon NPC vendor).

FYI: Although PvP main area is good for test your build, this is only for a basic guidance for your build (majority of your build). You may want to change a bit, lets say you want to be a tank (you use knight), you use soldier rune or dolyak rune (from SE dungeon vendor), but you still want to do some decent damage; you can change your weapon to berserker, some of your accessory to berserker type. Or you get tanky by using AC armor, but you lack healing power, you can change your accessory to cleric type. Or you get DPS by using berserker armor, but you lack on survivalbility, you may change some of your rune to enhance your toughness and vitality, or change your accessory to enhance your toughness and vitality.
FYI: Divinity rune is not always the best (except you want to make the most balance class).
FYI: Tank class: Warrior, guardian, can become a tank (but not in long run): ele, engineer, can become a tank because of pet: ranger :p, tank because of clone: mesmer (hard).
DPS: all classes. Damage: except necro (they can but not very effective). Condition damage: all but only thief, necro, and mesmer which are more effective.
Healer: warrior, guardian, elementalist.
(only in PvE case, does not apply in PvP).

Portal is not dead, 20 people which can port in the same time bring another strategy, cooperation between each mesmer and your team. (and you are not the only mesmer. In WvW I almost see in 5 man team, there is 1 – 2 mesmers.)

Actually I bit agree with OP. The armor and weapon which are bought out by token should be account bound at first, then they becomes soulbound when they are equipped. (Like ascended ring from FoTM. First it account bound, after you equip it, it becomes soulbound.

His build strength relies on: high mobility and high heal capability. (In addition of his skill. Not many D/D ele player can do like what he did). FYI: D/D ele is the hardest class to master.

To your surprise, ele D/D has the biggest burst than other type of ele (but you must pay with you lose your range (become almost melee), and keep in mind that ele use light armor (the worst armor)).

How to counter ? Evade when you see he channels that earth skill. Some people evade far before this skill channeled, which is wrong. What you should do keep hitting him with your strongest attack, and evade when you see the earth wave almost get into outer circle (90/95%) or if suddenly the ele gone from your sight.. If you have “daze” (slam or whatever) like attack, do it in this time. This will make d/d ele stay in place for longer time. After that just use move that forbid them to move (immobilize). If all fail (he gets away), dont chase.

Actually root all of the problem is: people always chase a player (which they feel in advantage), regardless it may be a trap (easy to use these trick to lure people to your zerg).
