Lol I will laugh hard if this happen in the reactor. (an asura accidentally pushes the button which blow up all reactor sites). And years later, this asura is the same asura which stands in reactor gate.
it would just destroy balance if you could run with 5 of your friends vs. soloplayers. The biggest friend-group would have an easy win in every minigame. I currently like that I have equal chance of winning against others.
What I would love to see though: leaderboards for minigames, where you can see your friend’s highscores.
This is not SPvP/TPvP. If I don’t misunderstand the description of this mini game, it’s a FFA battle. Which mean you need to kill someone and survive alone (If there is 2 survivor, it is unlikely if the winner decided by the highest score, both is the winner, or a death match begin).
Now if the map is big enough (if they use whole/half southsun cove), you and your friend will waste your time to take down this single person (band together will lead to accidental shot, while looking him alone will result dead (if this solo player is pro enough)).
Really, five-hundred gems?! To me these things aren’t worth any more than 50.

It’s like town clothing without the town clothing part. You double click it and you wield it like an environmental weapon, but if you get hit, you’ll switch to your IC weapons.
Note: You can wear Town Clothing or PvE clothing (or PvP clothing in HotM) while having the Kite out. It’s infinite uses, as well.

Funny thing: exotic/rare rarely come to whoever get 1, 2, or 3. But if you are number 4,5,6,7,8,9, you have bigger chance to get exotic/rare (dunno its coincidence or not, everytime I ask player who get rare/exotic said they dont get rank 1 – 3). (I played 5 times yesterday, my rank is 7, 10, 3, 2, 9, I get exotic when I rank 7 and 9).

Because it’s an outrageous price for something so simple, at least for non-farmers, casual players, and such. Isn’t that obvious?
The price is fine, if you want it you can pay with $$$ or gold after all. (That is if you want it).
If Belcher’s Bluff was lore-wise then Norn characters would have supremacy over all other omnomberry juice drinkers hands down. But then it wouldn’t have been fair for other races.

I don’t think it actually started triggering until the second or third day. It’s based off of finishing that one supply event, and that was basically impossible to complete at first.
Not impossible, but people are lazy to do that (running from bottom to top and waste 1s,60c (lvl 80) for getting to bottom again (if you want to run it a bit faster)). In addition, in first day this event is a “large area” event (meaning in first day, the requirement to finish this quest if only if every player bring the supply from bottom to top >>> which is why Anet nerf this event).

it’s hurting him because he doesn’t want to online everyday (to do something) to be in top of leaderboards. (less time to maintenance of your position/rank). In addition he doesn’t want to do any which he doesn’t like (maybe PvP, WvW, etc).

I love this suggestion. And If Anet wants to, this can be a new item in gemstore. Lets say 1 coin = 100 gem (you can make a private “insert name of mini game” room which will hold for 1 hour, put in more coin, add 1 hour game time to your “insert name of mini game” room). The NPC GUI is like in PvP, but the list is only for private room, while if you want to play randomly just press Join.
Of course Anet can add the rule: if there is less than 2 people in that room, the game wont start (but the 1 hour game time keep ticking)

Warrior: I can take spike damage more than any class, but I die easily in long term fight.
Other class: I cannot take high spike damage, but I don’t die that easily in long term fight.
Giving even more boosts for the outmanned is the way to go. Otherwise all you’d achieve is making players leave WvW, and that’s not what we want, we want more of them to log on, but on the outmanned side. The current buffs are silly. It should be at least:
200% MF (as we know from southsun, it really isnt that much at all)
no damage on death
+200% WxP, karma, gold from events
permanent protection buff (-33% incoming damage)
permanent swiftness (33% speed)That would bring many people from EB to each battleground, and spread the forces evenly. And it’s not OP in any way, in a 20 vs 5 fight, you won’t notice the buffs anyway.
+200 MF is way too much. It will attract PvE farmers, who will start farm mobs instead of fighting.
Too much ? When it only has effect when you outmanned. If it attracts more and more PvE farmers, these buff will be gone. And what will outmanned team do anyway (1 v 50 ?)? If they cap a tower, 5 minutes later, this tower is zerged, cap a camp, this camp is zerged (their only choice is to farm until help comes).
I agree with this idea (without the last 2 of course).

This is the first thread I’ve made about this topic. If you are referring to the previous thread I posted about people not cheating it is separate. This is to discuss people getting mad at those who do no let others win. At this point I couldn’t care less if someone wants to let others win, just don’t get mad at me for finishing in fist when I can.
First because you join in wrong neighborhood. If from the first time you join in this race people compete with other people, you are not wrong. In the other hand, if you join when people do this, you are the wrong one. This is like you live in China but you use USA culture. Of course people will mad. (lucky this is not crab toss, which people will hit you over and over with plank).
Second you become number one with “help” others >>> although it’s not your intention (which mean there is someone who waits before finish line, and you just cross finish line over and over again).
You know you can autocast skill 1.

Exactly. I played three games and figured out the game and now place anywhere from first to third in 7+ player races. The mini game isn’t hard at all sadly no reason people can’t earn it. This isn’t World of Warcraft. Earn your stuff by trying instead of having it given.
It’s not easy for everyone. In some cases, not easy purely due to factors outside of their control like latency.
I don’t think it was meant to be easy for everyone, that’s why it’s not required for the meta event. That being said, I can certainly understand the frustration of not being able to get an achievement point. I personally am having trouble with some of the kite ones. But I will continue to try and work at it, and everyone should try and work at the things they struggle with so they can get better at it. What’s the point of playing the game if you just get everything handed to you?

Sure, why dont you bottleneck your GW2 so your latency up to 200 – 300 ms (latency is not in player control, you may have 100 MBps connection, but due to kittenty ISP (multiple routing) your latency become higher and higher). Can you get number 1 easily ?
I rather have another kind of PvP than free for all (with more than 6 player) PvP.
The problem is: are you join in the wrong neighborhood ? I mean, they do this before you join. Of course everybody will mad of you, due to you destroy that atmosphere. Or when you get 1st at x time, you said something to them which upset them.
If I were you, ignore them, leave, and join another race. (If you stay, it means you also acknowledge I need help (because they permit you to become number 1)).

Surprisingly for me the best way to get them was in WvWvW. I played for about 2-3 hours last night and i ended up with exactly 80 fortune scraps. The heavy loot bags do indeed have a pretty good chance to contain a Kite Fortune.
Good news for all WvW-er.
Also, if you are heading towards one and see it disappear, it’s just because someone got to it before you. So make a mental note of about where it is and ‘continue’ to head there. You should still have 2 bags on the ground that you can loot. When someone pops one, everyone gets 2 bags, even though the icon goes away on the map. I’m not sure how long they will stay there, though.
Just don’t assume someone beat you. There’s still goodies there.

If you see a basket node disappear from your mini map, go there directly.
Just kill some mobs out there. (chest drop = kite,rare,or exotic)
At least this fortune kite is a better RNG system than other RNG boxes. 100% you get fortune scraps (the number is random), if you are so unlucky, you need 150 fortune kite = 2400 gems (1 fortune kite = 1 fortune scraps) and you get the back piece (for helm its more than that); meanwhile the other RNG boxes, 2400 gems still not give you any skin.
If you want to compare, dont compare it with dragon coffers, but compare it with southsun crate.
The NORN NPC which make me “ugghhhhhhhh !!!!!”. Need to be lucky enough to beat him. (He spams his boast like crazy, and its the strongest boast in this activity).
Charr, frog, sylvari is the easiest one.
Asura and human is medium.
Leaderboard for AP is ridiculous anyway. Its better if leaderboard for AP changed to leaderboard who finish first (who get the first legendary, get the first 250.000 WvW kills, get the first explorer title, etc). In addition of that leaderboard which: how many event that player had been done, less died in the game (and most died in the game), most crafting, most gold, the most influential player (wasted lot of gold for guild influence), etc (like in RIFT). These leaderboard will be better.

I loved all in this new content. The Scavenger hunt its very cool ( and some hard, very nice), The Sprint Sancutm its all-based on skill, and nothing on luck

Agree with this. Luck for powerups, luck for connection (especially for people who live far from the server). If you want skill > dragonball, wintersday mayhem (or whakittens name), halloween PvP. Now that is skill.
Is it cheating to help player to get achievement ? No (if yes, I am always cheating due to help people to get WvW EB JP achievement (including its living story) by portalling them). In real world: I am considered cheating due to help my friend do his homework !?!? (cheat: if there is a rule: All player is forbidden to help another player. (same in real world when you are having test.).
What you only need is ask them. Can I be the first for achievement ? That’s all. If they don’t mind, good for you. (it’s about individual, you want do it or no)
Okay okay, you got me guys, I’m the bad person here because I wanted people to play by the rules.
Is there any rule “not to help another player” ?
In real world, there is a rare case which a runner help another collapsed runner, you can search in google. If this in your case, all these people are considered cheating.

Sanctum sprint is based on 30% skills and 70% latency (high latency: expect a lot of lose due to rubber banding, skills which are not fired). I would rather play dragon ball (as rubber banding only affect you when you use jump pad/leap pad), than sanctum sprint.
This JP is hard, but you are not timed to do so. Take your time, don’t rush. You will get it eventually.
It will be fun without lag.
This lag make my character go back 2 s to his place before, does not teleport him when he falls, fall when he still in the platform (all lag in dragon ball but it worse).
Lol you want to sacrifice berserker stats for all stats armor ? Good (sarcasm)……. (I am speechless…..). If you want higher survivability: why don’t mix your acc with misc of valkyrie/knight/soldier+ruby orb ?
PTR is to find bug/error, not to balance thing. The problem is does people report this bug or walk away ? (80% of player want to try the content only but disregard the bug or the bug is not there in low level (thats why all player in PTR should be buffed to the highest level or can achieve the highest level faster >>> this actually what the problem of all betas (short time (usually days), lot of thing to be tested, slow exp, reset every beta, higher level content never been tested correctly))).
Balancing is the last last last thing to do in PTR (dev usually will put this aside), except the thing is so so overpowered.

Outside of people going for/maintaining a spot on the leaderboard, I am fairly certain most people doing dailies are doing it for the karma/money/mystic coin instead of the (currently worthless) AP’s. Attaching rewards to achievements such as WvW kills, jumping puzzles, completing stages of the storyline of different races etc doesn’t take away from the daily. It just provides an alternate goal to chase after when they log on. People aren’t going to log on and do the same thing over and over, because achievements are tied to pretty much all the content in the game already and can only be done once. They just have no reward to make them worth doing.
Karma (not really), mystic coin, money = I can get more of that from CoF P1 run. Buy using silver I got from CoF P1 can give you more than 1 mystic coin. From CoF P1 I can get more than 5 s. Now what else ? Laurel ? All my equipment in my character is maxed. A luck with gem items ? With CoF P1 gold, I can buy it easily.

If you see people doing it for karma, mystic coin, silver, and laurel, it is good. Which mean daily work as intended (force people to login and do different activities). You want to do outside from original daily like WvW ? Good, it means you do another activity. You want to maintain your leaderboard ? Its your choice, no-one forces you (I even don’t care about leaderboard). If you do daily for maintaining your leaderboard, it means daily also work as intended. (it makes competition, if not why should we need leaderboard for achievement (as eventually almost all players can get 100% achievement in GW2) ? Is it not better if the leaderboard is based on activity done by player ? For example: completing JP, dungeon, event, slaying champion, etc.)
As I write, what will you do if you have done all the achievements ? Sit in LA ? Grinding ? You will do same activity over and over (the worse not even login (lucky for hardcore WvW/PvP they still have something to do) unless there is an update for new content).
Is every achievement should give you reward ? No. (In other games, not all achievement give you reward. But good thing, some of them can be shown: example WoW: armory, SC2: showcase, etc).
You said that all living story achievement has a reward. It is WRONG. Only one achievement has reward (which mostly the meta one). It is just those minor achievements are counted into single meta achievement which make you think all achievements in living story have a reward. In addition, if people only do living story for the reward, why they do additional achievement which does not give you a reward (like we see now or before, I need flower in the end of JP, I need personal space, I need unfriendly sky, etc) ?

Talk about WoW, I talk about it clone RIFT. RIFT has leaderboard, its leaderboard is based on player activity, the more you do the activity, the your rank will be higher.
So why should you limit daily PvE achievement ? If you hardcore and want to do all, of course your rank will be higher (get more AP) as you do more activity, but if you dont want to do all, your rank will be lower.
Maybe Anet should make daily becomes 250 (or more) daily in it and make leaderboard to show who is the most hardcore player.
the whole point in giving us the daylie for 5 of 10 is to enable us to play the game as we want. This is not the case when you still get points for achievement 6-10. People feel forced to do this in order to compete with the best. So I 100% agree with the OP.
Who force you ? Anet ? Other player ? No, its you. Especially if you want to be in those 500.
But you see ? This good. Why ? It brings competition. (imagine if daily cap or not count, you get all achievements, other people get all achievements, the leaderboard becomes stagnant.)

I agree. At least with daily, you will be asked to do something different, using MF, gathering, killing thing, cap tower, etc.
Imagine if there is no daily: CoF every minute, Orr farming every minute, etc. And due to daily, the low level area becomes slightly lively. You still see lvl 80 goes there and here.
People would still do dailies, because they’re quick, easy and have a reward attached to them. The point would be to encourage people to do achievements beyond the daily by adding rewards to them. This doesn’t minimise people out in the world at all. And I don’t see what CoF has to do with anything.

The only thing I still dont know, is legendary collector work: when you equip or when you get ?
If the latter, +5 is enough (and you can buy it too. Unless its become soulbound directly (or account bound before soulbound), +5 is enough). You can share with your friend before you equip the legendary. It is also the same as miniature collector.
It is just something that I am suggesting. As it stands right now, a large majority of points comes from dailies. As time progresses, that majority will only get larger until it is almost entirely from dailies. Now I have no problem with this, I do think it would be a bit of a misnomer to call it just ‘Achievement Point Rewards’ if in reality it is ‘Daily Achievement Point Rewards’ with a slight bonus if you did anything else.
Can you give me a data, what is % of daily and monthly AP for people which have 10k AP in this (almost) 1 year of GW2 ?
Daily/monthly achievement will be bigger and bigger. This is known fact, but again its need time. Even in 1 year, this daily/monthly AP is not higher than AP total of all achievements from normal activities. But Anet will release new content with new achievement. In addition, they have plan to release new expansion (if not scrapped) in the future which will give you a ton new achievement to be done.
I’ve been thinking for a while, that it would be nice if the daily PVE achievements capped out at 5, with number required for the daily. This would definitely give me some sanity and would help even out the achievement point gain for more casual types that just want their laurels and mystic coins.
What are your thoughts on this?
Why should it have a cap ? People want to do extra, its their choice, they do extra work without additional reward. If you want only do 5 but other people want to do 10, why should we limit it to 5 ?
It is just like you play other RPG, you have optional quest, you have main quest. You don’t need to do optional quest, but if you do, you gain something extra. This extra daily achievement works like that (although its only give you 1 extra AP point (beside EXP)).
If dailies/monthlies are to be included, we will see very high point totals required for some categories. It won’t necessarily push people to try different things in the game, though, as a majority of your points will be from dailies and monthlies.
If they are not, the point totals needed for the gear will be much lower but they will push players into trying out more aspects of the game.
Both are acceptable solutions. I lean towards the latter as it would get more people to try out more of the game, but I cannot fault them for going for the first if they so choose to.
You dont need second case, people always want to get their rewards as fast as they can. With freaking high AP needed, people will seek another way to get AP, which is do other achievement beside daily/monthly.
Meanwhile if you have hit the maximum AP there (non daily/monthly), you should wait for next content to be released.

Regardless easy or not daily achievement, it still need you to do something. People want only do 1, fine, 5, fine, 18 ? fine. No one force you after all.
Second: Daily and monthly achievement can be used by ANET to force people to play the game. Why ? Lets say if AP is maxed (without daily) to 10k and the reward stop there, there will be no more progression (and people will whine again). Now if daily/monthly is not capped, ANET can make a AP reward for more than 10k (and with ridiculous amount of AP so you need to finish all daily achievement and monthly achievement to get next tier reward). It will indirectly force people to play the game.
And last: Daily achievement will look so worthless to a hardcore player who can almost play the game 6+ hours in RL but it becomes valuable to a casual player who can only play less than that. (if you want to farm daily, its fine, but you will never get to 10k faster. You still need to do other achievements anyway. (10k/20 (lets round its up) = 500 days, put monthly in calculation, still need almost 6 months to get 10k and you need to do PvP, WvW, and PvE to achieve that. If you dont, it will take more than 6 months to get that.).

Until before Anet announce this event: no-one care achievement leader-board (and I will never see it, the one I see is PvP leader-board). Looks like its due to we dont know how this will work. (buy with AP (seems not likely), using AP to unlock (maybe), using AP in each tab in achievement tab (maybe)).
There is no reason to cap daily and monthly achievement. The reason: Oh new player will never catch up due to this is not valid reason. Login and “do something” daily in the game shows achievement. Maybe this will have less meaning to “hardcore” players who can login everyday, but for a player which has a tons real life activities, login daily and have 1 – 3 hours is achievement. In addition of that, no-one force you to do 1, 5, all of dailies/monthly achievement which lead to: if player do something which is not forced to, they should get more.
One thing which need to be done to differentiate people with true achievement and only with dailies and monthly is TITLE. Give title to people who do JP (every JP has title or can be cumulative), explorer, killing thing, etc.

It can be frustrating if you use low level (have not get a stability skill) char or char which does not have stability. If you have a char with stability or a blink mechanic, this puzzle is freaking easy compared to mad king tower or wintersday JP.
Yes, you will be confused at first due to this JP works differently. But there is a lot of video out there which can help you (except you don’t want to get any help)
This dungeon is not bad (although I dont really like the mechanism of Frizz encounter (unlimited golem pull….. (believe me pulled 4 times in row in 5 s is ridiculous before died to laser >>> well my stability and break stun skill is on cd sadly)). But sadly it is bad for up-leveled character.
At least this dungeon show: berserker build: know your place.
A guard is not a must, but its better. This due to bunker guard can mitigate damage better than a bunker warrior. Self healing, almost unlimited condition removal, stability, boon for heal (party based boon and condition removal), symbol for heal, pulling condition from teammate are the one which make guardian preferable.
A warrior can have a good performance too (due to their damage, natural HP (you don’t need to invest more vitality for warrior, but power and precision >>> make damage higher), but they will need a lot of supports from teammate which will never happen in majority of run.
