As of the latest patch, in arah path 2 the waypoint after the spiders (between Agent Belka and the Berserker Abomination) no longer spawns.

The wiki is written by players. Just because the wiki says something does not mean this is not a bug.

Non-infused rings dropping at high levels is kind of silly, and definitely was not mentioned in the patch notes (along with other stealth nerfs to fractal loot that so far Anet has remained completely silent on)

The problem is that there’s no indication that the hand wave is something that you can dodge. In fact, it makes no sense that dodging this attack would do anything. If there was an an animation that connected the hand wave to the target player it would be a lot better.

That being said, by now everyone knows how to evade the grub spawn and it is easy to learn how to do it. All of his other attacks are fine, except I think making the locust spawn dependent on RNG was not the greatest design choice.

Phase transitions could be more obvious. The p2→p3 transition is OK but it is easy to miss p1→p2 unless you are watching his health bar (“playing the UI”).

Being Kicked From My Own Instance

My group and I had progressed to the 4th fractal. We had earned that. It was a rather nasty instability too. The game rewarded that progress by kicking us out without warning despite every other instance in the game only kicking people when the owner leaves.

In Guild Wars 2, earned progress may be taken away at any time.

It’s very weird that the daily rewards are out of sync with the agony scaling. Right now you can do, for example, lvl10 and lvl11 back-to-back (you don’t even have to leave the instance!), which have virtually identical difficulty and get two daily chests in a row.

The name of the meta achievement is “Fractal Fortnight” so that might mean it only lasts a fortnight (so until Dec. 10).

On the other hand “Boss Week” lasted 2 weeks, so…

Please just make it so you can choose the first fractal. Make it so you can pick any fractal in the set.

The completely random first fractal was better than what we have now, since now if I want to play just one fracal I can only play swamp, underwater, ascalon or uncategorized.

If I want to play volcanic fractal the only way to do it now is to first play two other fractals and then hope that I get it.

(1) You haven’t said if you’re NA or EU server.

(2) Call your team in LFG simply “Path 3”. Calling your team “First time everyone welcome” is likely to fill your entire group with new players.

(3) Choosing clerics stats for your trinkets is basically equivalent to having 358 less stat points (assuming lvl80 exotics). Healing power does not help you or your group in any meaningful way.

If you feel you still need a bit more survivability than full berserker, take Knights (Toughness/power/precision) or even Soldiers (Power/toughness/vitality). Switch these with berserker as you get better at avoiding damage.

Your group will have a much easier time with this part of CoF path 3 just by improving your overall damage output.

Indeed, requiring players to farm temple events in order to make ascended weapons is bloody annoying. Let’s come up with some solutions that can be summarily ignored.

Solution #1: make the mats tradeable. I know some players who complain that they have too much dragonite ore and not enough empyreal fragments. I have too many empyreal fragments and not enough dragonite ore. It would be great if we could help each other out!

Solution #2: Mystic forge recipe to convert empyreal shards to dragonite and vice versa. Something like 5 empyreal stars, 5 mystic coins, 5 piles of crystalline dust and 5 philosopher’s stones to produce 1-5 dragonite ingots.

Solution #3: The fractal fortnight meta achievement had a dragonite ingot as a reward. Problem is it can only be done once. Make some repeatable achievements with this sort of reward, could be multiple ones for different gameplay areas.

The point is that pre-patch, you used to get 45 fractal relics from the normal (not daily) jade maw chest at scale 32, in addition to the 35 relics from the daily chest.

So pre-patch: you would get 113 relics (3*11 + 45 + 35) for a complete scale 32 daily run.

Post-patch: you get 79 relics (4*11 + 35) for a complete scale 32 daily.

This is a pretty substantial nerf to relic drops that was not mentioned in the patch notes.

It has to do with your underwater skill slots (and the skills that are in them) going on cooldown when you use a land skill.

Workaround is to equip 3 useless utilities underwater.

The biggest problem right now is the warden is bugged to all hell. The new and improved warden will never ever spin if the target is moving. It also doesn’t spin at all against some stationary targets. For example, if you summon warden on an orrian guard turret in arah, it will no longer reflect any projectiles — it just stands there and dies in about 2 seconds. Pre-patch, the warden would kill 1, maybe 2 turrets easy.

Also if the warden ends up in the middle of Giganticus Lupicus (either because it appeared there or because GL moved slightly), the warden will stay still but still won’t attack, so no reflects for you.

Still not fixed by the latest hotfix. This is extremely annoying… this is a huge nerf to the warden, I hope this was not intentional. The warden was just fine before.

I loved your strategy on the abomination. I’ve always done it in melee range with 4 mantras, takes me about 12 rifles since the phantasms don’t live long. I have to try this now.

If you hit the left inquest from behind the small rock (in front of the one you used in the video) near the abomination you will aggro all three and can LOS/burst them down under feedback, perhaps a little faster to gather guns.

I was surprised you never used staff on any of the runs… your skips look very different from mine! For example, on the 3rd skip (right after spiders) I always use temporal curtain for swiftness then use into the void to interrupt/pull the sentinels back, then I can run past without any stealth (using blink and phase retreat as needed).

Now back to practicing my lupi solo!

The problem is that standing around for 7 minutes auto attacking waves of trash is neither engaging nor difficult content.

The worst part is when CoF is contested and the Razen escort event hasn’t started yet… you need to wait until the event starts (no trigger as far as I can see, just time and/or RNG) and the game won’t even tell you how long you need to stand around for.

The CoE pre events are much better in this regard, although there’s still an annoying wait if the troll event hasn’t started yet.

This happens in underwater fractal as well, enemies sometimes get stuck in the walls. So much fun to search for that one spot in the wall that you can stab with a spear and see numbers appear.

The CoF pre events are boring as heck: “Wait for NPC to do something”, “Wait for NPC to move”, “wait for 7 minute timer to expire”, and are much longer than the actual dungeon.

For the final boss if all party wipe, the last player will remain downed and not resurrected at the beginning of the fractal, he will die near the feet of the boss.

The last player will actually die, and then respawn in the downed state, and then die again. Double the repair bill, double the FUN!

Clearly this was never tested.

in terms of time, does the sigil of night work from 6pm to 6am server time?

There is no day/night cycle in dungeons, some dungeons are always daytime and others are always nighttime. Open world has a 2-hour day/night cycle (mostly day).

I recommend using an AC weapon skin with sigil of the night, as these weapons glow blue when it is nighttime.

Mesmers that use feedback….. when there aren’t projectiles to be reflected.

If I forget to swap abilities, I will still use this for the combo field like others have stated.

To be fair, knowing when to pop feedback requires specific knowledge and practice against the particular enemy you are fighting. Some attacks that don’t look like projectiles at all can be reflected (e.g., the V-shaped attack from the ice elementals in CoE), while some attacks that look like projectiles are not reflectable at all (e.g., rifle attack from risen deadeyes).

To discover which attacks can be reflected (and which are effective to do so), you just have to try it. If you’ve not fought the enemy before, may as well pop feedback and see what happens.

If I see people putting up reflects or projectile defenses on enemies that I know have no reflectable attacks at all I just tell them something like “by the way, you can swap out feedback/wall/whatever for something more useful because it doesn’t help against this boss”

You are penalized: when it bugs out like this it roots you in place for the full duration of the skill and you cannot dodge or attack while standing right beside the enemy.

Dungeon runes are currently soulbound on acquire. At least the minor and major versions can be mystic forged but if a superior version drops the only thing you can do is vendor it.

The dungeon sigils are not bound at all, so why these runes?

If for some reason these aren’t meant to be tradeable with players at least let us give them to an alt.

The biggest offender here is definitely the thirst slayer achievement requires not only buying 25,000 beers from a karma vendor, you then have to double click each and every one of them to consume. So 75,000 clicks.

I think there are drinks you can buy for silver which are 4 times as effective, so if you go this route you “only” need 6250 of them, or a mere 18750 clicks.

Orrian Jewelry Boxes are pretty bad too: if you buy a stack of 250, and open them all, you get several stacks of karma consumables that you then have to double click on.

It’s awesome too with open-world bosses like Sottz the Scallywag and Half-baked Komali which have mechanics requiring you to knockback or otherwise force them out of an area.

Tons of fun coordinating 30+ defiant stack reductions when any random player can reset you back to full stacks.

Patch notes say: “a new agony resist infusion slot has been added to all infused … backpacks”

It sounds to me that the new slot is only present for backpieces with (Infused) in the name, and this is in addition to the offensive or defensive slot already on the item. So

  • Prototype Fractal Capacitor will not have the new slot.
  • Beta Fractal Capacitor (Infused) will have it.
  • Fractal Capacitor (Infused) will have it
  • Quiver of Swift Flight will not have it.
  • Quiver of Swift Flight (Infused) will have it
    etc.

So unless they also change the upgrade recipes you’ll still need a stack of ectos. Those of us already used the upgrade recipes start with a +5AR infusion slotted in so our AR is not reduced by the update. Upgrades performed after the patch will create items with an empty slot.

I don’t think we overpaid. It sounds like the ascended Prototype Fractal Capacitor won’t have any “agony resist infusion slot” at all. I suspect you’ll still need to use the 250 ectos to upgrade to Beta Fractal Capacitor (Infused) if you want the slot.

Likewise, normal ascended rings will still need to be upgraded to the (Infused) versions with vials/globs/shards in order to get the “agony resist infusion slot”.

Those of us who upgraded already will get a +5 AR infusion already slotted in our fractal capacitors and rings.
