Being able to dodge all the time is almost the same as invulnerability. And I don’t care if they are “stronger” by using stealth, as thief are suppose to be one. But you can’t make something like perma dodge, every class would be happy to trade their boons for perma dodge. If they are not OP, then tell me, how can you kill things that are not hitable ? (Besides, the thief won against 2 of us, since we can’t hit him)
I’m playing s/p thief and don’t have that much troubles with s/d thieves. If you can’t even fight with them, then you just need more practice.

rabid armor suits more for hybrid builds (condi + dmg) rather then for pure condi.
and you have to realize that armor you buy for badges is non-salvagable, so I do not recommend you to use expensive runes on it.

Couple of times I got “222222222222” yelling from stan spaming wariors while playing s/d. Didn’t even answer anything.

if compare to pre patch, then there is bs damage reduction from 6-6.5k to 4-4.5k on heavy armor (www) with valkyrie+wurm.
are you going to use d/p set only to inflict confusion with 4?
also if we are talking about hybrid then maybe it will be more usefull to run carrion armor? or rabid?

Is the pistol whip balance to 6 init in sPvP noticeable?
In my first after patch pvp match I got killed couple of times and then proceeded to read patch notes). But yes, you just need to change timing a bit and it/s still ok.

I currently am using 30/10/30/0/0. This using all dire armor and trinkets and weapon sets of p/d and d/d. (the ten in CS line allows me to get might from signets.
It uses Runes of the Noble to stack might. One then picks and chooses foodstuffs based upon whether one solo roams or in a zerg. It really not focused on crit damage but the damage output from the raw attacks is increased substantially.
So just as example ,were I to go 0/0/30/10/30 condition damage pure my vital shot from the p/d weaponset is about half the damage . Heartseeker is about half from the d/d set.
Generally one can keep up 15 stacks of might without too much problem in such a build. Without food/stacks the base power is 1200+ 1200+ for each power and condition in my current setup. You then stack either corruption or bloodlust. Given you have the 30+ duration to conditions you can do well enough with your conditions wherein you do not have to eat condition duration food.
Thus around 500 is added to BOTH condition and power damage from the might stacks along with one of the two getting +250 more from stacks of corruption or bloodlust .
I use marjories chili which gives 50 more damage each to condition and power and adds 6 stacks of might every time I use my heal which was withdraw . That six stacks lasts until my next use of heal.
As to experimenting , that is why I play these games.
I am currently testing the concept of SOM used as heal on this build wherein leeching venoms “fills in” for my healing when I have used my SOM to get 11 might stacks. )
I loved GW1 but never even finished the game. I was just too busy tinkering and experimenting with builds. Some guys like the mouse twitching. I like breaking down builds from everything to traits to sigils to armor to runes to see what I can come up with.
Some work. Some do not. It can be expensive but its fun from my perspective even when I get slaughtered.
I just was thinking about something similiar but with runes of strenght instead of aristocracy. Do you have some videos of your gameplay?

The weapon set has nothing to do with low HP and, if anything, Sword main hand is the only weapon we have with a condi cleanse.
s/d is good for spvp (s/p as well). and I use it in spvp. but in 3w you will never get the same efficiency with s/d as you could get with d/p. any straight handed elem will roll you to the ground. 14k hp and no toughness. it’s not even fan.

you are wrong.
before update base crit = 150% dmg was equal 0 crit dmg in stats. so my 116% in stats was 150+116 = 266% crit dmg in fact. now it’s 220% or something like that. you can calculate 266-220 % of crt.dmg I lost.

You should tell us what you think of this). Have you tried it? I see condition damage, but I don’t see conditions themselves. Also no vigor or endurance refill. No crits. I don’t see any advantages of this build over classic S/D.
P/D thieves use CnD to enter stealth and Sneak attack to stack up bleeds, and ocasional Head shot to interrupt something important

I am a thief, and I think the class is fine. You need to learn to play something other than perma stealth now.

How would it help me on www sieges or any www long range confrontations? What classes besides thieves have no 900+ range skills now? I see you know the truth about thieves so tell me pls.
In W3 cluster bomb was very useful for defending and ranged aoe. These have been removed and thief has nothing past 900 they can use in these situations. This puts the thief closer than ANY other class to the other team while being a softer class.
My guardians ranged attack… which was buffed up to 1,200 range in the past for these exact reasons… just got a speed increase (which was well deserved). My guardian can take a lot more punishment than my thief can… so why in the world would the put a softer class closer… and create a problem on my thief that they recognized on my guardian long ago? It makes zero sense.
Ehm… That’s what I said. I don’t get why they broke cb. See no even one small reason for this. It was an answer to “butyouhave1500mstealnow!!1oneone” guys.

One more time: there are a lot of players at this game who do not care spvp at all. It’s not even part of mmo, it’s just a separate session mode. But these players care about 3w and know how to play it. Especially at high tiers. And if they play thief, they do not use blind from 5 with sb. They do not use 4+2, don’t use 1500m steal (omg), don’t use d/d, d/p so on. They use cb to blast and aoe. Becouse high tier www is blobs wars + lags. Now thieves lost their possibility to aoe walls and their only long range skill. Even if you don’t like blob trains and play small roaming format, there is still no any reasons to spoil cb range.

The best answer for you is “try to play thief first and then come back”, I think.
SB range nerf is a real QQ. I can’t find ANY reason for anet to do that. It’s realy a foolish thing.
