Well it’s not only dungeons it’s raid too. The thing is that revenant is cool, really cool and it’s a new profession. Everyone is going to make one when hot is release, so even in raids, you are going to see only revenants. Revenants are going to became the most played class during six or ten months after hot release. It’s always like that when something new is added. But anet must polished other elite specs too i agree coz i’m afraid of, if some specs are not going good or not liked there is more revenant rerolling adding more to the pretty high number of revenants incomming.
Don’t forget guys that, even with no conditions removal revenant was pretty strong this week end. Reaper was better but revenant come latter. So don’t buff the class to much. I’m personnaly fine with this weakness i haven’t really hard time, only with stack of burnings but that’s the same for everyone. As a mesmer player and engineer i play with this weakness too and i find you can pretty deal with it.
Really be happy with what you have. Revenant was in really good spot, don’t ask for change him too much.
Well personnaly i’m absolutly fine with weapons that revenant have acces. Sometimes you must adapt with what you have and i find you have choice with revenant. Mobility, conditions or range. You also can have tankier offhand or mobility one. For me it’s perfectly fine with this and don’t ask for more. Don’t forget that revenant was a pretty strong class too this BWE so buffing him don’t seems a great idea. I myself don’t have any problem with power mace. With the fire field and with brill, impossible odds and facet of nature i have landed powerfull blows with mace and it was devastative.
Nice feedback eems pretty honest i’m agree with a lot of things. And i have pretty same feelings in unranked pvp this WE. I’m also agree with mosharn. The only thing for me that’s pretty iritating is the cost of jailis taunt, too much. Maybe 40 seems cool yeah. But i let roy decide of this, after all revenant must be balanced.
Nothing is broken now in revenant but it’s strong class. Like i said before reaper was better, more easy to play and achieve better results. But it’s true that the revenant is very versatile, he has mobility, support and good acces to conditions. It’s pretty sure some thiefs or guardians are gonna reroll but these class still have some things revenant can’t have, sigil and more mobility and acces to some bounds (actually bounds on revenant are more like those of warriors, fury,power swiftness). But yeah it’s an amazing class, and because of that, because of being shiny and fresh and because of people who are going to change they class for revenant. Revenant is clearly going to be the most played class during atleast the six first months after HOT release. I hope anet fix dragonhunter coz most of guardians players dont like it, berserk,daredevil and make forge and druid awesome so people can remain with the class they love.
Well personnaly i find mace to be perfect like that. I mean it’s a very powerful condition weapon with burn, lot of torments and poison, the best conditions in game. You can empowered yourself with the fire blast too and 3 is a mid range skill. I don’t think he need to be ranged, you already have the hammer to play on range. Revenant still mainly a melee class.
Don’t add energy regeneration it’s completely unecessary! I don’t know how you are playing guys but with glint energy it’s just sooooo easy to manage. I agree jailis and mallyx utilities are very expensive and you can just use one of them one time before switch legend but with glint? come on it’s a child game to manage energy. I haved issues myself last BWE with migro gestion coz of the expensive costs of utilities of jailis and mallyx but glint make this far more easy to manage. There is absolutely no need to add regen of it. Revenant isn’t a class for spam and it’s really find like this, don’t make them a class common with no specific or useless ressources. Energy is a very good idea to make this class unique and micro gestion come with it and with that it’s perfectly fine!

Personnaly i don’t have found that i have LF bug, seems normal for me and even with that reaper do more easily and better things. I have myself found this two classes fun to play too. But even if reaper do it better than revenant i still prefer revenant. I love so much ritualist theme… My old ritualist luxon must be in the mists now, after 250 years. It is time to make him alive again…in a charr body.
Yes he MUST be balanced. We already have elementalist. But i found reaper have better results with less effort in pvp beta so, in my opinion reaper was better than revenant this WE.

Yhe thing i’m a bit afraid of is that class is too much awesome and everyone play it. This is gonna be hard to make raids with an army of revenants. Let’s be honest an invasion of revenant is coming.
Personnaly i’m fine with weakness to condi. I have played a mesmer a lot so it’s not new for me and i have managed with this weakness perfectly this week end. The only problem with it is burning stacks that’s kill you in seconds, burning is so op now.
Revenant is going to became the new most played class. Too much awesomeness.

i was on my reaper and i have to say in melee 1v1 i owned almost all the matches i traited so shroud 1 applied flame and i was a full rapid build. but vs range was very difficult i had to change to a pull utility and stack any stun and cc but if i failed likely died.
Well spectral grasp seems pretty mandatory for me, i’m having excellent result with. The thing to take care is that, in hot there is gonna to be more melee than range. Necro are going melee, engi too and there is revenants. Only guardian are going range but it seems plenty of them hate dragonhunter so maybe many of them are still in melee. There is gonna be melee meta.

Well actually unrelenting assault and heralt aren’t op, strong surely but don’t op. Have you try reaper spec? The spec is far more destructive than herald, when you go in reaper shroud it’as almost your dead. I have playing more than 70 unranked pvp match with heralt this week end, and i don’t always reach top score in pvp. With reaper it’s far more easy, i have play something like 15 or 20 matchs with and 80% i’m on top score. Reaper, or at least really shroud, is really more op than revenant and kill revenant with burning stacks, conditions that revenant with shiro/glint can’t do nothing against.
Well i found too that reaper is really in a strong place. I’m playing herald all the day and, some times, switching to reaper. I can say i have always been in first or second in unranked pvp with more ease. Reaper is really powerfull now. Really tanky and really strong dammage in shroud, maybe a bit to strong. With dhumfire and celestial or barbaric amulet you just crush all foes. Don’t need ups at all. At last for shroud.

Well i’m here for talk about a thing that really annoyed me. I have really enjoyed revenant this BW but i have always play it with heralt, without this spec it feels clunky and less tanky at hell. Mesmer without chronomancer loose too much etc… The only specs that are like anet said elite specs are “changing the way to play” are dragonhunter and tempest they aren’t required to the core classe and offer more possibility of gameplay (you can play guardian or you can play dragonhunter you don’t just play dragonhunter). But they’ve been the least liked elite specs of all and know, the dev who have made these specs have made thief V2.0, the daredevil. They clearly are classes v2.0. So it is a marketting argument for p2w and sell the expansion or just no imagination? Think about it how are going to do chronomancer or heralt or daredevil the next expansion after HOT when another elite specs is comming? They are loosing a core talents line must have for they classes. At last, when elite specs are originaly intended to offer more gameplay possibility they just upgrade a class, taking a talent line, nothing more in gameplay just an upgrade.
That’s the feeling i have this night. Don’t you think guys the same thing? Aren’t those elite specs too much mandatory?

The problem is without herald revenant feels clunky, less tanky. It’s totally different, it’s really worst. I don’t really like this must have feeling elite specs have, really annoying for making builds. And, in contrary to put diversity and builds over and give them more possibilites they throw them to the ground with a talent line took by elite spec. The class don’t have more possibility it’s just become the elite spec. Mesmer haven’t more possibility without chronomancer, they became chronomancer, revenant haven’t more possibility they became herald. Pretty annoying thing. Finally dragonhunter and tempest are the top elites specs when we think about, they offer more possibility without a must have line.
Like i said before i’m pretty sure it’s for us a tool for selling the expansion. The only two specs that wasn’t mandatory dragonhunter and tempest was the least liked of all. So i pretty sure now specs are going to be classe v2 and must have but, yeah with this system i don’t know how it’s going to work in the next expansion. Imagine rev without herald and swiftness or mesmer without chronomancer. It’s a problem

Well at first elite specs was intended to be something new for the class. Something you can change, play with it or not. But, looks carefully, Karl Mc cain, the dev who made dragonhunter, tempest and daredevil, is the one who has made something new for classes. Dragonhunter is not a must have and you can play without it, just play with it for becomming range, the tempest is support spec, just play with it when you need it. But all those two was the least loved specs of all. After seeing people like robert gee’s specs, who are an upgrade of an incomming classe, he made daredevil, thief V2.0 and people like it. So don’t expect now to have an elite spec that isn’t a must have in place of one core talent. Coz like tempest and dragonhunter was not liked and upgraded classes are loved incomming specs are going to be V2.0 classes too. So now elite spec is just a v 2.0 class, thing i find a little poor. It’s for them an argument for sold heart of thorns coz they enhance classes and are must have but this can be a problem too coz, when you look, they are going to be more melee classes now (engineer spec is melee too, necromancer too and just dragonhunter for range but it’s not a must have) so this is going to change the core of pvp game too, putting the light on melee classes. So it’s a little poor but you’re just going to have v2.0 classes now.
For now i’m pretty happy with reaper now. With vampirism runes, barbarian amulet and blood cachets i can really tank and do some nice dammage in shroud. I can easily be the first or second player in unranked pvp. For now i find reaper really powerful and fun to play.
How some of you guys have energy problems? With glint it’s pretty easy to manage energy, more than shiro/mally, mallyx,jailis, shiro/jailis. The decrease points really help to manage energy, i just’ve out of energy 3 times in more than 10h. But it’s clear than, when i’m running mallyx, the utilities are very expensive. Moreover energy is an energy ressource for managing, you can’t really spam with revenant and i love that, you can be out of energy if you don’t manage and be forced to autoattack or legend swapping. I really love that. Otherwise i found glint is really a much have (maybe a little too but it’s the case of all elite specs after all), for combat or pve in general (facet of elements i love you) or pvp for manage your energy, you really can adapt for support or offensive and that’s why i love herald when i’m hating support or healing profession in general.
Edit: Really, revenant steal my heart. I’ve been three years switching mains, switching classes but i just can’t found a class that i really love. Revenant is this class long awaited. My ritualist luxon can be back!

I am doing well with vampirism runes and barbarian amulet. I have survivability and dammages. But there is one thing i can notice, i’m playing on a charr character and, when i’m gravedigger in pvp i can’t always touch my target when she’s on the ground. Would be human, asura or norn there is sometimes gravedigger don’t touch them even if ’m just near near the downed. Bug maybe?
Reaper is really fun now.
Side note- Whichever Developer made Reaper and Chronomancer and Revenant
They are two dev the one with chrono and reaper is robert gee and it’s a cool guy, the one who make revenant is roy and it’s really cool guy too. They are my favorites devs and classes too. In a pvp perspective this night i was amazed with the reaper and revenant. Chromancer make me joyed the last week end too. Really not an easy choice for pick a main.
The reaper? A kittening killing machine. It’s amazing. Really my favorite with revenant.

I’m really exciting to play a main rev too but just wait the extension is finished and polished! I already think 23 october is a marketing date for don’t let us wait too much, i think now arenastaff must work at 100% to have the stuff finished for the 23/10. Moreover, why only revenant in this case? You don’t think it’s a little unfair to have only the revenant availible before the realease of the expansion? And the class specialization? Those who want to play their class have to wait the date and those who want to play revenant don’t? Just think about it it’s unfair! Think too that, if revenant has early acces there just are going to have only revenant everywhere, when, if it’s realeased in the same time that specialization it balance a little the class population.
For BW3 we’re going to have misty dodge and ajustments.
Well BlazeQ i understand your feeling perfectly. I’m just don’t having taste in any class for now. Ij ust want to play chronomancer and revenant again for deciding me and choose witch one i’m going to play.
What i love in revenant? The past theme with history and ancient legend for inspiring himself and honoring them (looks like a sort of confuciasm spiritism like it was in cantha), the spiritual communion with the spirits and the disabling with eyes, relying just in the other senses for making anything and focus on channeling. I really enjoyed the polyvalence of the class too. That’s why i have loved in ritualist but revenant is melee where ritualist was range. I’m not a lover of melee (and revenant was squishy in beta) but i think i must force myself.

Well i really enjoyed the revenant too. Ritualist was my main class in the first gw after all but i really enjoyed chronomancer too, it really improved the mesmer core class. I’m really stuck between that two class need some time to decide which one is going to be my main.

Even if this is true, that i can understand. Why there isn’t the song when you are crashing on the flor, the death scream when an ennemy is dying in flammes or the falling animations?

Well i was playing sometimes and i seem to notice there is no more death scream.
When falling too high my character no more scream to death? And more there is no more the animation related to it (my charr was moving his arms in all sense, like flying when he was screaming to death). That’s annoying coz i really enjoyed it and i find it to add immersion. But there is more, it seems that the guys who are dying in flames are not screaming anymore too. And when i’m crashing on the floor coz falling some distance there is no more the special grunt too. So it’s me or some song are really missing in the game? I’m realling sad to see i haven’t these songs coz i actually like them, adding really nice song additions and immersion. (a guy who is burning actually scream to death, when you’re falling it’s normal too to scream and that’s show too your hero is not a god coz he fear falling for afar and dying). So am i the only one or are they been removed from the game?
So please anet, if you have actually disable them, why? You’re making awesome content but you’re removing awesome too. Why? that’s really add something there isn’t in other mmorpg. I’m really sad to don’t see more the underwater pvp map too. It was awesome even if it’s not balanced. Why you don’t have keep it for unclassed pvp match?
