Sorry the sky is not falling here. Guilds are still looking to move to mid -tier servers today (look at the recruitment threads). The top three (even four in NA) servers are stacked of WvW guilds already so it would be astonishing to see any large movement to any single one of these – is all of TC and BG going to stack onto SoR? I don’t think so.

If players are that keen to get whatever these rewards are then better option would be to move to servers ranked 13-15 NA (the corresponding EU ones). I believe this will happen – there will be a slight destacking of the upper tier servers into the middle somewhere (and possibly a bandwagoning onto say an SBI or IoJ). Which is part of the intention of Anet in all of this.

People have been saying for ages that the WvW community needs to spread out and I reckon this is a smart way of doing it.

who is talking about guild’s moving? i am talking about a solo moveand i doubt people will move to 13-15 too easy to guess which server will win wrong and gold is getting better rewards.

classic example of the tragedy of the commons its in my best interest to transfer to the winning server if i want the rewards even though if everyone does it it will break the game for everyone not on the winning server and make it harder for me to get the rewards.

i’m na like most of the transfers the top 3 servers will be getting. i do have insomnia so i am sure that counts. thanks for being the only person to give a reasonable answer i’m sure i am not the only one who wants to know who will be winning the matchup although from your data the top 3 are somewhat volatile with bg being the most consistent they could all reasonably win the league depending on how the guilds in them realign. shame about the other 9 servers though.

You guys have it all wrong. Just before the first season do not transfer to the server at the top of the first league. Transfer to the server at the top of the silver or bronze league. Rewards will be the same for winning that league and you will get lower queue times. Just saying!

harder to know where the cutoff is the score fluctuates more in the mid tiers you can guess wrong and end up on the number 12 server the loser of the gold and not number 13 the winner of bronze

What this man said. Vizunah is the server to go to if you want the win. They are the only t1 EU server that plays the ppt game exclusively and are very, very good at it. They slack sometimes but always rebound almost instantly. Just check their win history so far.

The reason this does not apply here is that birthday gifts in a game such as this are a form of marketing. They are a means of promoting the game in some way. They are a form of reciprocation for money spent.

It’s a gift. You did absolutely nothing to earn it, it’s just a token of appreciation. If you never use it or throw it away, who cares? Im kinda worried about capture points, it sounds like itll have the same problems as orbs all over again where the power boost only ends up helping the biggest zergs. I would like to see it where your server cannot capture it unless you are capturing at least three points simultaneously (To break up zergs and introduce smaller skirmishes) or that the points only give a power bonus to the 3rd place server

the orbs where much easier to defend in off coverage hours except for the flyhacking. this like everything else lately will just go to the server with more people punishing the low population servers.

I have to hand it to them, almost any significant change can have a far reaching impact. (That’s why I like WvW).

right on reset night it should make the lower 2 servers go after each other more. then after reset night like everything else whoever holds it will be the side with the most people. also with as bad as the flyhacking was i am sure the easier way to capture the points is to have the fancy teleport bots take all 5 capture points instantly

5 WvW ruins in the borderlands, when you hold 3 you get a buff.

This is all that really matters. Did they go into details? Can you elaborate please? I can’t watch it at work, its blocked, those kittens!

Basically there is five points around the lake very much like a SPvP capture point (don’t go all ape kitten I’m only using SPvP as and example to describe the point) if you cap and hold 3 you get the bloodlust buff. Its looks as if they will flip every few seconds though, realistically you won’t leave a zerg to guard it so the enemy zerg can storm in, cap, and move on. They didn’t go into detail so maybe there will be something put in place to prevent this but, as it is, it looks like a speed bump for a zerg.

i look forward to the roamers gathering at these points so we can 30vs1 them when we need the buff

why do you think its a good idea to have them enter wvw as uplevels who don’t know the game they will get stomped by anyone they fight 1 on 1 and in a zerg they will be at the edges and die quickly to aoe it hardly seems like a good experience to die everytime you fight

Done at least three times on Tarnished Coast yesterday, although hasn’t been done in almost 24 hours now according to gw2stuff.

A three man group successfully snuck in and burned down all the karka nests from my guild, to end the event and secure Kiel as the last camp.

It depends on the server and the time you are playing. I’m on Underworld. Last matchup when we played against Augury Rock – a higher tiered server that even had lots of people at night… I went into JP and barely anyone of them was there. They must all play on the maps only to controll that stuff and keep their high ranking.

This matchup against lower tiered servers I often see a few people there… at some time also larger groups of 5-6 each server… at spawn or Arena.

but the higher tiered servers used to have plenty of people in the jp they no longer do

I only started doing it when they moved it to it’s own map. Getting better and faster every day. I don’t use the fountains because there are not many enemies. And in Dark Room it does not help that much if you can’t use a torch cause of the invisibility buff.

yes the karka queen event has big problems that where masked by having 70 + people farming with 200 mf. no one does karka queen anymore and no word from anet on whether they fix the problems.

Yep, it has a spawn timer. If you do not see a “queen is hiding” line in the sidebar it will spawn once all 4 camps are held. But Unlike Shatterer (another world boss with pre-event requirements), the camps can’t be soloed.

And the middle camp, Steampipe, ends up blocking the northeren camps from reaching the queen in any practical time frame. This because all the camps go “contested” the second the queen spawns.

Never mind that the events scale simply based on people present in the general area, sending Steampipe into “no way, no how” levels of difficulty very quickly. The place can likely also be camped by parking toons outside the wall, around the upper left corner, as only the odd reef glider wanders up there. And those campers will be taken into account when scaling the Steampipe events.

yes i stopped doing it even with 200% mf if i was on the wrong side of the setlement or if i wasnt on one of my tanky classes. its no fun getting insta downed and its impossible to run through the setlement. i was curious if they where going to notice the event has problems and fix them or just abandon it.

DB is what it is, and if it’s too much for you to handle, there’s still PvE.

If you’d like, I can probably pull up posts from every server in the game saying their fairweathers have not shown during blowouts. Or, when they’re winning big, how many fairweathers are out and about.

You just said yourself that we’re not special. But you sure seem to think we are! We make that same comment, and you feel the need to attack it like we ate your children.

The people that transferred over have been out and about since they transferred. They’ve been an active, integral part of the community. So have the guilds that have always been here. Do some casuals not play as much when we’re getting demolished? Absolutely. But I guarantee yours don’t either.

All I’m trying to say is we’re no different than anyone else. We’ve got some die-hards, we’ve got some fair-weathers, we’ve got some new, we’ve got some old. no i do contest this. CO came and is big enough to make a difference in na on their own i remember that week not a huge difference but you could see it in the ppt. and big guilds never come alone they bring pugs and smaller guilds with them. and this just put db over the top you can look at the score db was steadily gaining ppt in na prime the entire time because they where getting transfers. db had been heavily recruiting for a long time and once they started doing well they guilds started trickling in until is snowballed and db became the flavor of the month server that has done what every single other of them has done stalled and lost people when it was obvious they where getting stomped in t2.

But seriously, just play the thing out. Last week DB got matched up with JQ and BG, both of which have superior coverage. On top of that, JQ did nothing but go for DB’s throat the first weekend. Life sucks sometimes, you just have to keep playing and roll with the punches.

To be fair, we’ve had three weeks of completely non-competitive matchups. Not just one.

Noodles made the announcement [RE] was coming over on April 19th, which I think we can agree was the beginning of the wave of folks coming to DB. [rB] had already moved over a couple weeks prior, but much more quietly.

If you were to look at the scores from that week, which ended the day after Noodles’ announcement, you would see Kain sliding and DB gaining, close to a 30 point swing. Give or take a few points in the next week, and DB would have replaced Kain in T2, or only been a point or two behind in rating. Transfers or not.

Yes, the proof is right there in the post I made. If you choose to not be slowed down by silly things like facts, that’s your own issue.

DB received one guild from Kain, [CO]. Who trickled over the first week we were already in Tier 3. When Kain lost a few guilds and subsequently fell some, yes, DB benefited. Because we were the next server up, not because we absorbed half the server like you want to imply.

your proof is showing db winning t3 as the week it started to get big transfers from other servers. that is LITERALLY the definition of a bandwagon server.

So Mags are not trying to fix their coverage gaps? I look at the recruitment subforum, and I see a Mags recruitment post. Db doesn’t have any. I wonder if someone’s just being jealous here.

pro tip: Stop crying, and try to enjoy the game.

no one is crying db seems to not understand why they have so many fairweathers. you will of course always be confused by this if you believe you got to where you are with skill alone and not all the transfers coming to db for easy wins.

I don’t see anyone who said DB got to T2 with skill alone. That’d be preposterous. Care to share the link? We had the coverage and numbers to be in T2, which is why we moved there. After that, we received numerous transfers.

The transfers did help us hold our place in T2. They’re awesome, yes, and an integral part of DB now. Nobody is denying that.

It’s interesting because DB received all of its transfers when the “easy” wins stopped. Since we moved to T2, we had one week I would consider easy; the rest have all been hard fought, excepting last week when we were soundly trounced.

i’m not angry i’m just really perplexed by how some of db can be so oblivious to the unwritten rule of being a bandwagon server as soon as you stop winning the transfers stop showing up.

Is English your first language? He said that DB received transfers after we moved to T2, which is a fact. he did not say that we won T3 because of skill. We were already too big for T3. Skill is pretty even across servers. Normal curve.

Also, DB moved from #6 to #4 after the transfers. Hardly what one’d call a “bandwagon”. You may, if wish to. Doesn’t affect anybody’s health. Keep crying.
