Its not just NA players on EU srvers its also EU players on EU servers . Its not that rare for me to have quite bad lag (and my internet is working fine), i had it today for example for a good hour or so but probably not as bad as u…
There is no logical reason to revive yourself with tornado, its obviously a bug/exploit.

Same could be said about other classes. If u dont have mesmer u dont have portal which means the close point defender cant come middle and u get outnumbered (not to mention time warp). If u dont have guardian its alot harder to keep the middle point caped since he is the best at that + all the aoe support he does… Classes have their roles which they do very well if u take it away from them u get what?
What’s the difference if everyone gets smaller or everyone gets larger?
As i said the difference is quality of pvp. I can see animations much beter on humans, sylvaris…. Also its easier too see what weapons they have and u can distiunguish faster which one is the mesmer which one is the thief….. Im not saying they should delete the race or make everyone play norn but if they tweaked asuras a bit for pvp it would benefit the game.
Im sure some ppl choose asuras because they like the race but alot of them do it for other reasons.
Cast bars wouldnt fix the problem either.
Everyone has the option of running an Asura, it’s your choice not to.

Let’s explore that a bit. You want them to be forced to have to change their character size, even though you already have the choice to do it?
Te difference is if asuras get bigger everyone is on equal footing, like it is now if u want a bit of an edge u have to make a tiny asura and sPvP is then filled with tiny characters who dont display animations properly which hurts the quality of pvp….
The biggest problem i have with it is when i fight asura mesmer and in comes an almost identical asura thief or whatever, its very confusing because its much harder to distinguish between them as other races are…
Well all im saying this are rank 40+ ppl who started playing eles because its the new popular thing right now that died quite easily to another d/d ele (mind u i have been playing d/d ele since beta), it pisses me off to no end i have to listen to ppl all day long how op eles are because so many noobs started playing them, im ok with some balancing but dont go overboard Anet listening to ppl who have no clue wtf they are talking about.
Ive posted months ago how they could improve some of our other trait lines to give us some new options while at the same time slightly nerfing the current water/arcane build…. Ofcourse i got no response from anyone, not even other eles so i stoped trying.

If d/d eles are so completely easy to play its funny how i can kill most of them 1v1 in paids (im a d/d ele btw).

But really without healing and ride the lightning ele would just be a free kill, u already get 1 shoted by a haste backstab thief as it is if your mistform is of CD or if u get imobillized and u fail to cleanse it. Our dmg is mediocre at best and we’r only able to kill stuff because theres so many glass canon unsustainable builds out there…

You are doin a good job of boring us to death with 1map per week, who came up with this gem seriously.
A bit of math now, if a team wins 20 matches a day and never loses they get 160 gems per day and i dont know any team whos able to pull that off consistently. This means a really good team that plays alot would be able to get a few thousand gems per months which they might convert to gold to buy some weapon skin or whatever, now if u look at the PvE part they are trading in items worth 100s even 1000s of gold which they can trade for alot of gems. So whats the problem of setting the prize to 20 gems?

I dont know how many weeks of testing it takes to comprehend the rewards for winning paid match right now are kitten . Now as for some reason u guys decided this 1 round match up is here to stay and will replace the old tournament system i think its time to work out what the appropriate reward for wining it is, i dont think i have to explain whats wrong with the current reward.
Anyway i think the appropriate reward would be atleast 20 gems, considering 1 ticket costs 12 gems this would mean u would have to win 60% of your matches to break even, anything more would be a slight profit, also plz bring back the lottery.

Cmon, really? Some of us actually liked the 8 team format, cant we have both? Atleast in that format good teams had a + in tickets/gems, in this format u are guaranteed to lose tickets over time which means having to farms frees !!!
And who wants to play this map for another week, what testing is actually happening here !?
Well i do agree our downstate is now again one of the worst ones because our downstate dmg is crap (and #3 ability is completely usseles), meaning if u go down at the same time as the opponent ur gona lose to probably every other class out there….
But apart from that we are still very strong 1v1 and in teamfights, nothing really changed there.

Q: Are you not in the least concerned with the impact of Time Warp but also quickness in general?
Specifically Time Warp almost certainly decides group fights in favor of the side using it. Quickness, however, seems to be a problem in general as reaction times are virtually a constant, while abilities under quickness are sped up by 100%.I’ll give an example in order to explain what I am trying to say with above statement:
Assume you are getting targeted by 3 devastating attacks with an animation time of .5 seconds under the influence of quickness. For clarity I will also assume reaction for the targeted player (he might be busy handling a situation) to be .8 seconds. Under normal circumstances, this player would get hit by the first attack and be able to evade attack #2 and #3. Due to quickness, however, he would get hit by all 3 of these attacks, which amount to .75 seconds of execution time, since his reaction time remains constant at .8 seconds.Analyzing the situation, the targeted player just took 3 times the burst, just because of quickness cutting execution time in half. I think we can agree on the fact that many, if not any, classes out there, will be dishing out devastating, lethal in fact, amounts of damage, if they are able to apply 3x times their regular burst for whatever reason.
Q: Assuming you follow the current meta in the EU, you may have noticed that when both sides utilize a heavy burst thief (regardless of whether players deem this to be balanced or not), there’s a high chance that the thief coming out of stealth and actively participating in the fight first, is going to put his team at a disadvantage, as he’s most certainly being taken out instantly by the opposing thief.
As a result these two thieves usually play their own 1v1 match within the match itself. I honestly believe that this is not the way matches should be played or decided (4v5 on the map for 20+ seconds usually means you lose the team fights or small skirmishes on a node).
On the other hand, many thieves seem to be of the opinion, that they need to be as glassy as they are (and thus being easy preys for the opposing thieves), simply because there’s no other way to neutralize certain bunker builds on the enemy team in any timely fashion. These bunker builds, being as strong as they are, will undoubtedly cost you the match, if they manage to stall your team on a node.Are there any plans for reducing burst damage and survivability and bring both ends of the spectrum down a little, in order to address the inherent issues? If so, what specifically are your goals in this regard?
You may be aware that while burst is simply based on chaining devastating attacks in the least amount of time possible, survivability comes in different flavors. While usually survivability equals high sustain through healing, there are professions/builds that become as survivable as they are by means of excessive damage evasion and/or damage negation, so that any changes would have to be targeting all of these capabilities.
+1 for this questions, are they working on this issues and can they give us some examples of how they plan to do it. Theres no real point in this interviews if all we get back is we are working on it.

Things are moving fast around here
They havent banned anyone yet for macroing as far as i can see so theres ur anwser. They have however banned quite a few ppl for language (free speech and all that, supose to be a human right) and exploits in PvE which is another indicator of where their priorities lie…..
I would love it as elite on a 90s CD, the ones we have now suck. But i also think giving more clases portals will make a mess out off pvp.
s/d is the superior bunker, it has 250 more tougness and a beter heal on water + 2blinds and a cond remowal with pheonix and also 900 range. D/D eles play with valkryie which i dont consider a bunker and have their counters such as trap rangers, cond engis some dps guard builds….
Can also be 1shoted by thief if ur out of mistform….
I think most ppl here dont even know the difrence between d/d and s/d as i see far more s/d in paids, op himself doesnt know the base HP for ele is 10,8k not 13k.

Goin US an starting paids at 4am isnt really something most ppl would wana do i think , especially when there’s alot less teams in US, makes no sense to go there…..

Exactly right, having no time to react to this combo is kitten and i often eat 1 more attack before my mist form goes off because of latency and the fact the thief has quickness on.
Retaliation is complete bullkitten in my opinion, i made a phantasm spec 2 days ago having never played mesmer before and i was killing pretty much everyone 1v1 with it, 1 of the resons being retaliation. By the time my oponents die they ussualy eat about 8k just from retaliation (the only skill needed here is choosing 1 minor trait which grants retaliation to my phantasms), my other dmg comes from phantasm atacks which deal 5k dmg on squishy targets and again dont really require any skill to do it (i can spawn 3 of them too ), all i have to do is spawn the kittens and try to avoid the atacks from my oponent and i win.
The ele change u suggest doesnt do much at all, they should replace the EA water dodge heal with something else like maybe cond. removal, i think that would do the trick. But yeah they should then also fix the thief burst guard defense and a couple other classes like the ranger spec which is near imposible to kill too….
Dont expect too much though, alot of this issues have been known for months but it seems like they dont agree with our view, i play alot of paids and too me the bigest problem right now are the thieves, its just not ok to know that a burst from a thief is coming and u have a stunbreak+dodge ready but u just cant avoid most of it because its instant cast + haste + heartseaker spam after it….

When ur in vapor form anything u touched that dies will rally u up even a jaged horror, i pointed this out a while (before the last patch) ago but had no response from devs. It actualy hapens quite alot to me but its not something u intentionaly exploit it happens randomly and should be fixed. Well i guess u could exploit it by teling a teammate to kill something when u vapor but i dont think anyone is doing that.
Agreed, a strong skill done right is churning earth for example which gives u time to prepare and react or even atack the guy doing it and then evade and it puts the caster in alot of risk, another one is the wells of the necro which at the right time can be devastating but done at the wrong time can be easily evaded. Two worst examples are as we all know the steal+cnd+backstab and the shatter, first one needs to be changed so u have a bit more time to react to prevent cnd in the first place second needs to be nerfed in power because the double and triple shatering + might that is going on lately is ridiculous. 100b i think is fine because u can usualy evade most of it unless ur skills are on cd.

The problem is some thieves do the initial steal-cnd-backstab burst too fast for u to counter it, i tried going against those thieves with my finger on mist form and i still lost half my health before i could press it (i dont know if theres a macro involved or its just good timing), after that its extremly hard to actually beat them with the amount of stealth and evade they have + shadow step ofcourse.
That burst should give u just a bit more time to react so u could actually avoid the cnd and backstab if u had a countr skill rdy otherwise its kind of pointless to have those skills.

Why people are trying always to max everything they have? Why not just play just because it is worth playing?
Because they are raised in a capitalist money driven society and love the feeling they get when they accumulate useless kitten they dont need so they can show it off to others.
This is gona be nerfed one day for sure and Anet will say it was really a bug that it worked this way just like they did for evasive arcana which was cleary op and still is very strong after the nerf, its just a shame we are going to have to put up with this crap meanwhile. The mesmers defending it remind me very much of those eles who were complaining they are nothing without EA and in a way it was true, if u tried to make a build without it u were just shooting yourself in the foot and the fact ppl still call ele overpowered just shows how unbalanced that build was.
We now have a class with the strongest team fight elite (time warp, guardian book being close second) with one of the best utilities (portal) and an even stronger burst than before, any team not taking this into the fight is just making things harder for themselves and so is every mesmer not taking shatered strenght….

Burning speed evade not working.
burning speed (dagger fire 3)doen’t have an evade component… u’r probably confusing it with burning retreat (staff fire 4) that indead has an evade component and is working correctly (last used a few hours ago)
It does they aded it in the same time as for burning reatreat (long time ago, think it was in beta) which also didnt used to have evade on it.

Cant believe some of u ppl are actualy defending this, its obviously completly out of balance and needs a quick fix. Look at the ele forum, we got a bug where we get about 30s protection instead of 3 and everyone agrees it needs to get fixed fast meanwhile u guys are acting like this is a well deserved buff. Its not like mesmers are underpowered i mean why do almost all the top teams run with 1 then.
I logged on to check out the new patch, and thought my eyes were deceiving me.
So yeah, fix this please. Priority level 1.

what we need is a speed and dmg increase to tornado to make it viable thats it.

As im prety sure our downstate together with bunker specs will get nerfed this patch i would like to see a buff for our fire and air major traits. The fact almost noone is going full in into fire or air is proof enough this needs some reworking. Im not gona be teribly creative here so i would leave the same traits in but just buff their effect so ppl have some incentive to actually take them over the arcane and water ones and we start seeing a bit more dmg ele builds.
Burning rage: now the fact that some proffesions get traits like increase dmg 10% if target has cond. on them is reason enough this should be buffed to 10% on burning target.
Persisting flames: i would increase the duration to 50%
Pyromancers Puissance: very weak as it is (u can get something like 5-8 stacks for 5s which isnt really a big dmg increase)so i would buff it to 10s might with each spell.
Weak spot: again could do with a slight duration increase.
Grounded: Besides the burning rage this is the most important one i think and it should be working with knock back aswell so u could actualy combo it with updraft.
Temptest defense: is terible i think, it doesnt work against many atacks even in close range, its countered by stability and range and skills that have evade on them. It helps you maybe 1 out of 10 times so besides making shocking aura work against all atacks in close range i would also maybe reduce the cooldown to 60s. As the squishiest of all clases when going burst dmg we need some more good defensive options and this is seriously underpovered when u compare it to lets say a thief or mesmer equivalent trait.
Another good option might be lightning flash out when disabled on a 90s cooldown which would be similar to the thief trait.
Its pointless to expect all of this to be put ingame, it might be a bit op if it was
but i would really like to see atleast the grounded, burning rage and temptest defense change which would be enough i think to see more dmg ele builds.

I bind all of my abilities except for weapon 1 and elite to the mouse.
Definetly this, the amount of buttons and their position is perfect for the elementalist proffesion and its a good shape. Only thing is the battery only lasts about a day but u can have it pluged in and play….
Yea biggest wish is they fix alot of bugs and exploits for spvp.
Ok i tried this out, if the opponents rock dog dies while u are in vapor form u rally. Im not sure if this works with other minions too but im definetly not using ogre runes anymore.
