On one race I fell off a small cliff and got put back 2 checkpoints. I went from 1st to 12th. Annoying.

i had an issue where it wasn’t showing up on my mesmer, so i switched to a different character (the one I got the first chest on) and it was there.

just go to a cache in the region and stand by the chest. they respawn every minute.

Agreed. I’m shelving my mesmer. This patch was yet another in a string of disappointments for both this class and this game.

I’ve opened well over 2k coffers and no ticket. Just some redundant food items, some potions that were already in the game and a handful of 1 type of mini.

it’s infuriating and completely bogus. i’m giving up; this crap is not fun.

I’ve opened well over 2000 regular coffers with no skin, a handful of useless potions and some food. I also bought about 5 gem store coffers.

I’m never buying another gem from Arenanet because it’s a complete waste of money.

I think they create this content around what they can sell out of their gem shop. The stuff in the festival is pretty lackluster. But it looks pretty, I’ll give them that.

I am definitely not a fan of how the festival rewards are being implemented. It makes an otherwise fun event into a bit of a let-down.

edit: There is little doubt in my mind that Arenanet could care less, so long as they are making $$$ off the gems. I expect more of the same in the future.

I find the RNG for weapon skins and the like to be pretty shady and lame. I’m not a fan. I probably won’t quit because of it or anything, but it definitely brings down the festivals and the new content.

I usually will hang out for a second – some people have slow loading times and maybe the thing just showed up on their map. But after a few seconds I usually jump in.

I have found that if someone shows up late and I say “sorry didn’t see you” or “thought i was the only one at this one” they are usually super grateful and will return the courtesy of waiting.

Yeah, a map I was on earlier, as soon as one popped up there was somebody at it. The person was usually down-leveled and killed the mobs almost instantly. If you got there more than a couple of seconds after it was activated you were lucky to get a taffy. lol

very poorly done, imo.

If people have complaints, so be it. I wouldn’t let it bother you.

I liked the SAB approach. You could get the items from a drop, or you could collect your baubles and buy them.

I’m sitting on thousands of the taffy which to me is completely useless.

I spent some gems on the rich dragon coffers understanding that there would be a good chance I wouldn’t get a ticket. However, I wasn’t prepared for how utterly lame it would be to get a few pieces of candy and a common food item. Hooray! Crap!

Then I went out and purchased / farmed about 1000 regular coffers and got nothing as well.

I cannot stress enough how incredibly lame and disappointing this is. I actually think these events are cool, but this RNG lameness has brought it down.

I certainly will never, ever be buying another gem from Arenanet again. They clearly have no problem taking their players money and giving them nothing for it. If feels like a really slimy scam.

a good bit of advice for the fight (and for life in general i suppose) is just to always stay away from the bombs. then it doesn’t matter what he’s doing.

That’s just the way it is these days with MMOs, you give a game a bonus and probably 30% of people will come back crying that you didn’t give them enough.

So you want Anet to just give you 47 chests? Nice thought, but not gonna happen. I can’t think of a game that introduces new rewards for something and then retroactively gives everyone that reward. I’m honestly surprised they’re even giving an extra chest per level.

Finishing a daily takes about 5 minutes and are even faster in wvw when they are killing champs / vets and player kills.

This is possibly the silliest bunch of complaining I’ve seen in this game.

I feel like Fort Aspenwood has a pretty stable and solid server. SoR as well. I think BG is pretty solid now as well.

TC (my home server) has a stable community partly (imo) due to it being the RP server.

Legit question – for 5v5 couldn’t you rent (not sure how that works) an sPvP map and go to town in there? Or are those maps to crowded with structures?

It seems like a-net could just expand their sPvP maps to include more players.

I’ve had lots of open field fights with both FA and DB, and lots of fights where they were holed up in a tower defending like mad. I don’t think any server has a particular style of fighting other than just to do what seems rational at the time.

I actually like playing defense, but that’s just me. Different strokes and all.

This has been a pretty good week of fights. I’ve been rolled by a few BT zergs and there’s been DB folks in towers, but for the most part it’s been alright. TC is in last place, but that personally doesn’t bother me too much at the moment. There has been a good showing by FA and DB and we’re really getting the pressure. It happens.

Not a big fan of the AC changes though. I really didn’t think there was a problem with them before.

I think the wvwvw qq’ers have won this one. Anet has really showed their hand when it comes to balancing on this one.

Technically they can apply others, but they are ridiculous and don’t know any mesmers who use them as a way to dps. Maybe as a little extra damage but nothing serious.

Yeah that SOTG was pretty useless. I didn’t hear anything I couldn’t just read in some bullet points on the forum. Huge changes to wvw and they presenters were just like “ok”.

Mesmer qq? People crying about confusion is why we’re getting knee-capped.

It’s like it’s impossible for people to look at their conditions or the big swirly purple thing over their head and figure it out.

I could not be any more disappointed in Anet for this change. If this is how they approach balance, it makes me rethink my interest in even hanging with this game.

agreed. I just finished up getting my ascended items for my WvW glamour build. Ouch. It’s frustrating to the point that I’m tempted to just shelve the character and move on.

If they’re going to do these sudden, brutal nerfs they should let us trade in our ascended items or something.

The changes to confusion are idiotic. I have no idea what the developers are thinking. If this is the way they “balance” then no telling what class they’re going to knee-cap next.

Same here. I’m going to test it out after the patch but I’ll probably switch to a different build. Might take a break and play the guardian for a while. I’m not a huge fan of the other classes I’ve leveled so I’m not sure – might see what else is out there.

I think this nerf is a mistake. I’ll wait to see what happens after the patch, but I’ve stopped investing improvements and $$ on my mesmer for the time being … if I just have to shelve it I’m not going to be wasting time on it.

I could not disagree more with Anet on this change. It’s very discouraging tbh – mesmer is by far my favorite class in the game and I almost exclusively WvW. Double ouch.

Or a lazyboy like Mif has. It has a lever on the side.

Honestly, I love this game, but I fear this nerf is a sign of it heading in the wrong direction. Leveling a character to 80 and grinding a ton of gear only to discover that all your work was done under a false assumption, namely that the build you were grinding for would EXIST in the future, is endlessly frustrating. And it weakens my loyalty to the game. When another MMO comes along, I’m gonna be tempted to leave now. Big time.

I think in reading this you have called out the problem. If the reason you leveled a toon, and grinded a ton of gear was for the one trick (confusion) doesn’t that mean you inherently knew it was a bit OP honestly?

I didn’t level a Necro for its ability to fear and certainly didn’t level a ranger for its ability to immobilize. I did both because I enjoyed all around gameplay/mechanics.

If we wanna talk nerfs, have you ever rolled a ranger? QZ got nerfed into nothingness, spirts are a joke, traps and pets are almost worthless without specc’ing into them pretty heavily…etc but what do we do, adapt!

I for one am glad to see all the one trick pony builds getting the hammer. In WvW right now if you see a mesmer its a glamour, if you see a ele its a d/d, if you see a thief its a heartseeking hero. I love variety and my unconventional necro is proof!

While stacking Glamour fields might be “one trick” in one definition of the term, you clearly don’t grasp what this means for mesmers across the board. Regardless of what build you’re using, confusion, and it’s subsequent damage (at low or high values) is tied into mesmers balance in terms of DPS in every regard. Power/crit/shatter mesmers still apply confusion which ticks in smaller amounts, but adds to their DPS whole. Confusion based mesmers give up all their power/crit/shatter damage in exchange for those confusion ticks.

Confusion isnt a “one trick pony” for mesmers because, no matter what, confusion is in play at some point with all mesmers. It’s a mesmers condition. The only question a mesmer faces is, how much do I utilize it? The trait tree heavily supports those who decide “a lot”.

I think people don’t understand this about mesmers and so it’s much easier for them to call for confusion nerfs. This nerf impacts more than just players who glamour bomb.

Also, I play in T2 which is very zergy. Nerfing a zerg-busting aoe is really rough. I’m very disappointed in this change. Obviously, there are various builds out there that are legit, but having such a huge chunk of damage getting chopped might make those not so great. I really don’t want to end up playing a portal/veil bot. Additionally, I think it is a pretty bad sign when instead of buffing classes or fixing classes, developers instead just nerf classes that aren’t busted.

Its an exxageration to say anyone is rolling in 100 man zergs. That would be saying every single person on a qued map is right on the commander, which is ridiculous.

Either way, the zergs on a certain role-playing server can get pretty kitten big. The thing i hate though is when they dont outnumber you 3 to 1 they all seem to get urges to go into towers and stand on the walls. Its really weird but its a trend I’ve been seeing lately :/

Here’s my mesmer. I like this armor set – I think it suits a human male character more than some of the more flowing armor. Just my taste I suppose. This is a model / action shot.

(I chose green armor because my server is green this week in WvW)

They wouldn’t move up together. You’d have to grind out points and then a server from T7 would come down. Once that happens then it’s easier to climb up.

At least that is how I understand it.
