Today, GoM siege’d ET’s Greenlake Tower in WvW, using the breakout event…we pushed them away and killed siegerazer took about 30 min-1 hour. Then after 5 or so minutes they had started another breakout which they eventually took Greenlake Tower. I think there should be a longer cool down limit than 30 min-1 hour to restart the breakout event, and maybe a even longer cool down for a server that is probably 3x larger than Eredon Terrace.
You know there is a way to counter how often it is available. Just don’t kill siegerazor, instead, push the group back, kill the dolly, crush the seige that was built, but leave the commander seigerazor alive. As long as hes standing outside of the tower he doesnt respawn at their respawn point to come again. Now this method does have 1 major drawback. In order to get your supply dollies in you must walk them in past seigerazor. Or just not have any supplies getting into the tower. I do not know how long Seigerazor stays there but I can tell you it quite longer than the respawn he normally does. We once had him up for like 2 to 3 hours in front of briar tower.

Good fights this week. But, I just have to ask… Did CD’s WvW population double since last Friday? Over the last day or two it seems like CD is everywhere.
I think we have had renewed interest from casual players this week. Plus a bit of just new enthusiasm for WvW. Lots were bored with the stale match-ups of the old system. We have had some short ques this week on both the Eternal and home BLs. We all have been camping the scores from work waiting to get home to log and play! I’d also like to say we have had so much fun this week with YB and KN. There have been some truly awesome fights.

I mean if SoS really wanted to make the start interesting and uphill for their Oceanics. They could just take the night off and let their tick go to 0 until their Oceanic primetime hits and the majority of SBI and CD are sleeping. Nope. It’s unfortunate. I had hoped that there would be a rank cap so we could have individual builds (similar to level cap for character builds). Instead, we can get all the points and open all the abilities. So, that theoretically removes the need for a skill point reset.
This also is counter-productive to their original statement that the reason why points were per character vs per account. Original they said they wanted us to create unique paths with our wvw points. But if all toons can open and max out all lines, how is that unique?

Honest question – has SBI taken a bit of a break this week?
I wouldn’t say “break” but they are being very weird this week. Maybe training? I don’t know. They are not completely taking a break, because I have had some great fights with them this week on CDBL. For example last night we had a SBI zerg of about 50 take our hills keep. Then a bit later another commander brought a much smaller zerg and we fought for about 2 hours+ at the se tower. It most likely went longer but I had to log for the night. Sunday they had a zerg at bay for a few hours, that fight was very strange because they so could have had bay like 3 or 4 times but they kept backing off. So, I wouldn’t say break because they are around, just not sure what they are up to.
That was me with the 2nd group. Trying to get my guild more involved in WvW and we had a great time battling you all. Thanks for the good fights.
Oh that was real fun! I was wondering about some of the things ya’ll were doing there. Like the walking golum I kept thinking what the heck?? But I figured well maybe he’s/she’s doing training. So your comment on getting more involvement in WvW makes sense now! It was very fun I do believe my lovely CD heroes (some call pugs) had a fun time too. They certainly seemed to be having fun in TS.

Weird, you think that, as I know for a fact roll through SOS BLs several times a week. Must be conflict in times we play. I also know SOS and SBI both roll with balls as well.

We saw this same group of ranger bots from SBI doing a break out on SOS BLs trying to take the sw tower as well. We had just capped sw tower and they showed up the entire team was pretty much Rangers with bear pets. When we figured out it was a bunch of bots we ditch the tower and continued on our quest to cap SOS’s stuff. The issue of bots really needs to be addressed as this type of play ruins the game for all of us.

Personally, I think class requirements is actually a bad idea. I prefer to play inclusion not exclusion. Besides, getting people to play in WvW is a challenge sometimes without added restrictions. It’s better to work with what you have and improve that. Working with what you have makes your team stronger anyway because you learn to adapt and come up with solutions to problems.
I think the easiest way to to learn anything in WvW even tactics and strategies is to learn the home BL map and how to defend and keep it first. Often homelands provide a slow period when not much is happening on the map, this allows your team to learn better siege placement, hiding holes, and shortcuts. Plus you learn about upgrading and defending the things you already have. This also allows for smaller skirmishes rather than falling into the big zerg.
Eb lands tend to be heavy on action because all 3 teams are always competing there. So homelands is defiantly a better choice for learning and training.
I don’t know how other servers view their homelands. But personally I have priorities on homelands. Garrison, hills and bay most important. Hold the north first above the south as the south is where the enemy spawns and often flips fast. That’s just a brief rundown of my priorities. Of course camps and running supplies is always important for upgrades. Just my thoughts on your post.

30 minutes is sort of a pain. At least let us see a refresh timer for each piece of siege or let us hit up an NPC in the tower to refresh all the siege in there. Better yet, let me pay an NPC 10 silver to refresh all the siege in the tower for the next 4 hours.
I do love this idea, a worker to refresh siege would be awesome. That way the devs are happy for their servers and we are happy because we don’t have to camp our siege and we don’t have to remind others to refresh. To combat silly spies, a way to pick-up and replace siege maybe?

When I first got my tag, people told me it was important for me to survive a long time. However, after running in some major epic fights in the past week since I have gotten my tag, I find this to be not as important as people have indicated. I think communication with your forces is far more important than anything else you do. If your zerg knows your plan and understands what the goals are they will make sure those goals are done. Maybe, Ive just been lucky I don’t know but I have been very impressed with my “pugs”. They don’t get a lot of love over all, but the ones that have come along with me for the rides have been awesome as long as I communicate with them. ~Amber Vine CD

I’m map challenged sometimes, so I don’t mind the names. I just learned where every thing was and names on the home bl map, when I happen to be in other home bls we just use our home name for those same locations since the 3 home bls are same map. And Eb well that’s a whole other ball of wax to learn. I just learned that one on its own and sometimes I still have to look on that one to remember the names. But using my home names for others seems to work pretty good for the groups that I run with.

We are an international Guild as we have members from all over the world but we are on the Crystal Desert server. I do know though that east coast /central time needs a boost in numbers. We are a PvX guild (in case you don’t know that means player vs. everything). We have 223 members right now and want to grow this number rapidly. Super Bubble has big plans in the works!
I am a member of this guild and I can tell you that they have a very active guild, and that they really do have members who like to help each other out.
Here’s what happens on a typical weekend.
Friday night of course is WvW night. Those that like WvW join in after server match-up is finished and have a blast running around doing our part for the Crystal Desert Server.
Our goal is to have enough members that WvW together for zergs whatever the time of day is. Currently, I know at least 10 members who over lap the times I play. I don’t know what the numbers are when I’m not online. We have 3 commanders in our guild at this time. Super Bubble (guild leader), Nira (not sure if this her complete name but its how I remember it.) and Me Amber Vine.
Saturday Mornings is our biggest guild play together day. We do guild missions and treks. When that is over we tend to do an event in Orr, one of the temple runs usually. The last 2 Saturdays we did the Bath Temple of Obsidian shards so people could stock up on those for their Legendary Weapons. At this point we tend to make subgroups to do other things like dungeon runs, or WvW people. Sometime this is when Super Bubble does his random acts of kindness. This is a unique feature to our guild.
Sunday usually has me running in WvW with other members, sometimes we are doing a ninja group (small group map running for supply camps and npc points), or following some zerg or making my own. If I’m not in WvW then I can be found running some dungeon (although right now I have caught the Legendary Weapon fever and therefore am mostly hunting TA runs).
Our guild is extremely helpful. If you need some others to run with you, you can usually find some members willing to go. I have rarely needed to make a pug group for anything since I joined this guild. At most, I might need to add 1 or 2 outsiders to complete something but even this is rare.
We have several members who do the CoF and Frac runs both for the coinage and other bonus factors. We even have a Fracs class that just started. This class is focused on teaching people the Frac runs and upping their levels in Fracs.
We never bash someone for not knowing something or asking for advice. We treat each other with respect and much, much love! We like to focus on fun.
