In fact the ONLY part I do not play is GvG that’s the only part that doesn’t fit my play style. And I might add GvG isn’t even part of the game as Anet never added that t the game.
I kill dollies, build gollies, take camps, map hop, I cap towers/keeps, I defend towers/keeps, I kill enemy players, I command with my tag, I use ts to communicate with others on my server, I am an active member of my server (ask on my server most will know who I am and my guild), just as any primetimer there is and as others play…so I fail to see how it is I don’t play as you or others or primetimers play.
I do not zerg bust, meta build teams or require my guildies to do so…perhaps you do and this maybe where we differ in playstyles. Also I might point out I am playing the game pretty much as designed by Anet, and with the inclusion of others rather than the exclusion of others. It is my game I payed for it. So still I say hate the game not the player.

of course it is your game, and you have every right to play it as anyone else, not disputing that…

But aren’t most of you guys Americans, that chose to play on EU servers instead of NA, not really because you had to, instead you made the distinct choice to play here for what reason again?

Hate the game instead of the players…I’m not hating you, I just find it a really weak argument to pull out when someone doesn’t agree with someone else and have no good excuse for what they are doing.

A) you have no clue why we play on EU servers
B) you have no clue why we left NA servers.

I want to try small group combat, but I’m not hardcore on WvW, I do everything. RIght now i’m doing a lot of sPvP but sometimes I get to do PvE for 1 or 2 weeks and some times I do WvW. Would I still be able to hang out with your guild and be part of your roaming squads while not being a member of it since you want more WvW hardcore? At least that’s the idea I got from it

lol we are not hard core. So far from hard core. We welcome anyone on our server to join us. And we are a guild of inclusion not exclusion. We have members who do PvE and sPvP but almost all of us do some WvW. We are in the game for fun first. Never hardcore..we don’t care what you play, how you choose to play or what armor you wear. We only care if you’re a fun person.

Not quite sure when this happened. However, I will tell you that we do have a tactic of making people think we are trying to rez in order to keep enemy players busy parking on a dead body. If however, you actually saw someone rez one of my Nudies through the gate, plz contact me in game so you can show me screen shots. I’ll take care of it. We play a fair game.

I know I have a lot to learn to be effective, I have NPC’s everywhere calling me commander so I really think the game is trying to shove me in that direction.

1. Is it necessary to be on TS or Mumble?` — It helps tons to be on some type of VOIP, by being able to say something in real time to the followers can mean a lot.

(is superior siege the only siege to use?) – Superior is the best but there are reasons to use regular too, for example there are only a few of you so building regular may get built while you may come up short on Sups. You should be the one to lay siege. This is a supply management issue. You have the ability to see how many supplies others in the group have, if you are running low you know it. You should be the one to lay siege.

3. How do I deal with back-seat drivers questioning my every move?
Tell them you appreciate their advice but atm you’re leading. If the would kindly let you do so. If they don’t like your command they don’t have to follow it.

4. Should I try EotM first? ugg There is no skill to commanding in EotM. Basically the just follow no strategy needed, no thinking necessary.

5. How do you (or I) choose the proper objective? There are lots of things to consider and for this it would be a terribly long post. Things to consider – your numbers vs their numbers?
what upgrades does it have?
Do they have tons of supplies inside?
Are they going to be able to response quickly?
Is it wp?
What is the goal of this cap other than karma? ie is this going to help me take something else etc.

6. Scouts? – Love them need more please.

7. If I lead everyone to their deaths should I keep trying? Yes, but when you know you screwed up, tell them you know you screwed up and apologize for it.

8. With no experience can I expect people to follow my tag or commands? Some servers yes, others no can’t answer this as I don’t know your server community.

9. When do you decide when a battle can’t be won and retreat? When most everyone is getting wiped. That’s a good indication to get out now.

10. Tactics… How do I learn good tactics, is it necessary to sacrifice my followers to learn what I did wrong and if yes how do I deal with all the rage? No not necessary. If your server is worth anything at all they have other commanders willing to train you and show you what you need to approve on. If your server doesn’t do this possibly your guild can.

No. A good commander doesn’t take credit and no blame. A good commander has the loyalty of her/his followers because he/she is working right along with them. Through thick and thin baby!

12. What’s the most overlooked thing you could tell me? (I am a bl commander) Supply management, and sweeps! Sweeping garri, bay and hills after a take is often ignored.

Outside of T1 and maybe T2 in EU, that match is usually decided during the weekend. T1 is really the only place PPT actually has competition, anywhere else, it’s often a steamroll or an inevitable win.

According to the leaderboards on this site my server is T5.

This is a call to arms! The EU Farshiverpeaks Server needs you to help bail them out! We Americans are known for sticking our noses into others wars here’s your chance to get in on that action too! Farshiverpeaks aka FSP is looking for more Americans to come fight by their side and remove the enemies from our borderlands and eb.
Here’s your chance to tell your grandkids you fought in a euro war! You’ll be able to reminisce about all of your glorious battles and a chance to show your battle prowess!

Why should you leave your NA server and come to FSP?

Are you having a hard time standing out in the crowd of many on NA servers? Want to get more recognition for your contributions to the server? Well as an American guild on a EU server you will get that! You’ll get the recognition you deserve for your contributions to the server here at FSP!

Be aware that there is no difference in lag or latency when playing on an EU server. Some of us have even gotten “less” lag being here.

From personal experience, and to be blunt, Euro servers are home to less trolls than NA servers. Map chat is usually clean and friendly and everyone gets along and works together.

What we are looking for

We are looking for guilds to help shore up our NA time period. Specifically, we are looking for about 1 or 2 guilds of 10-20 men and women. We already have 1 American guild here who would like to meet new people and have a few more to play with at night. Our current American guild tends to be borderland focused and try their best to defend homelands. They do a lot of map hopping at night and would like to have 1-2 other American/NA guilds to be able to have a bit of fun in their time slot.

1. We would like to have one guild who likes to focus EB as our current NA guild prefers to run havoc on enemy borders and defend home border. EB will offer said team lots of fights as well as excellent open field fighting and karma training (lots of karma training on an easy match). You will find that FSP tends to have almost all of their EB T3 most of the time. We have several players who make it their #1 priority to see that EB is T3.

2. A second guild who is similar to the current American team we have. One that likes defending when needed but likes to pressure the enemy BL’s as well. However, a zerg busting guild would be nice to have in this time slot, that we can call for defensive help on a whim.

3. Any and all guilds that come we would request that you remain positive at all times as we find we get better results with players when we are positive. The also makes for a more harmonious community. Our current American guild loves having fun and can be a bit wild at times, they tend not to take things too seriously so we would like people who can work with that. We DO NOT condone trolling fellow FSP players or map chat.

Pacific and Mountain time zones _would be a bonus. Our current American guild is mostly Eastern and Central time. So any guild that plays the west coast time means we extend the coverage hours. So all you people from the west of the Mississippi would be perfect! _

Also we don’t want to leave out Alaska and Hawaii _your 2 states have a unique time zone in that you are online after Pacific and Mountain time zones logs off so we could use a guild or 2 from your timezone in addition to the 2 other NA guilds. This would extend the NA time even further. _

What FSP Offers

FSP is a warm and welcoming place. We have a wonderful community that would be very welcoming to guilds that play in the NA time period.

I would just be happy with a public announcement like “your enemy is attacking lake tower” or “your enemy is attacking garrison” They don’t have to say which team, they don’t have to say how many or if siege is laid just that its under attack. More than just stupid tag though. I don’t want to worry about a kitten thief hitting gates to make us come running for nothing.

no way to reset them. The only time there is a reset is when Anet decides there is a reset. Which is usually if they add a new trait or beginning of a new season.

mercenaries are the npc places in EB. The toads and ogres. WvW wxp is for leveling your WvW levels. This gives you points to spend in the traits for WvW. Each new level begins a new point accumulation. Now if your traits are being reset everytime you get a new new level that’s not suppose to happen, that would be a pain if they did that. However each new level does give you more points to spend in the WvW traits.

define best guild? what makes a great guild has different meaning to different people. What what kind of guild are you looking for? That’s the question. If you are truly looking for a new home then figure out what you want from the guild and then find that guild. Base your final choices in guilds on what server they are and how that server fits your needs.
Me I love my guild NUDE…they are like family to me and I wouldn’t trade them for nothing. We happen to be on the Far Shiverpeaks server which finished tied for 2nd place silver during the last season. But I would not have cared if FSP had finished in mid range as that spot was where they were when I first joined them. I like the server and the people there. and that makes my game more enjoyable period. Sure fights are good, sure we can come together and take lead when we want, yeah we are organized, yeah we have ts website blah blah blah. But the people make the difference. That’s what makes my server and my guild great.

Plus we really really really know how to have a good time playing with pixels!

We run almost every night of the week with the exceptions mentioned in the OP. It would be helpful if you mentioned what type of guild/community you are looking for. Guilds usually have a certain culture to them. You want a guild that fits your play style and needs.
My guild plays for fun. We do WvW mostly but we have some pve time too (not as much as wvw though.) We will never tell you to have a certain build, but will help you find one if thats what you want. We play on Far Shiverpeaks server we are the night crew there as we are NA prime.

On another note I have refrained from these forum wars you people have started over hackers. I personally feel disgust for everyone who has felt the need to resort to bashing each other over a few hackers. It is not FSP’s fault, just like I haven’t held it against Gandara for flying hacks or AM when they hacked into bay or the time they tried rezzing a mesmer through gates.
We all have less than ethical players on our servers, I certainly wouldn’t resort to calling the entire server bad just because they have a few bad apples on them.
Fact is FSP worked their kittens off this week for the win. They set the goal last week and the meet the goal simple as that.

We all have bad apples, don’t let their actions ruin our whole barrel on whatever, server you are on.

To make it short and simple, if you don’t like the culture of WvW on your server because it’s too GvG / open field fighting oriented or the opposite with nothing but militia blobs, accept that you’ll be forking over some gold or real money to transfer to a server that is a better fit for your interest.

it didn’t get totally fixed but it did improve. I still had it really bad in EB last night long after the patch. But at least I can do the other maps.

It was improved for me except for going into EB so its not back to where it was prior to the problem but it is better. Keep working on it please! I’d like to be able to go to EB.

in EU, they are dedicated no matter how many times the get destroyed their morale is high, they have guilds who run raids almost everyday, less egos, more drunks on ts ( someone was so drunk he was singing wrecking ball on TS ), they show up with numbers always.

The EU meta is more advanced than the NA meta

-EU ratings are much closer and differences in strength between tiers is tiny. In NA each tier is 2-3 times stronger than the tier below it.

-EU has more than just hammer train meta

-Most EU servers have more ocx/sea coverage than most NA servers.

-Average skill level in EU is higher.

-Guilds in EU prioritize quality over quantity unlike so many NA guilds.

-People actually stay on tag in EU during fights

-EU has the best GvG guilds in the game (at least 3 have already beaten the best NA guild)

…..All of this above I find true, of EU servers in general. EU also remebers above all this is a game and as such people should be having fun while playing it. This in no way means there are not serious game players, just they don’t make it less of a game and more of a job just because they are a bit serious in game.

I’d like to add NA servers overall (not all but average) tend to be meaner to each other, tend to have huge egos, tend to troll each other bad, don’t respect the commanders and what commanders do for the server, and finally they make what is suppose to be a game into work, making the overall game play less fun.

Dear Developers.
For the past week i have been experiencing terrible skill lag in spvp and world vs world.
(we are talking about up to 5 seconds skill lag which renders the game unplayable) Pve is sort of better but i havent been able to play tournaments in fear of disconnects and poor performance. I am absolutely sure this is not a network error since i have contacted my provider and have thoroughly checked this. Nevertheless all my other online games play just fine and my speed tests show nominal results. Please inform us if this is indeed an issue with the game. What is more i seem to be experiencing constant rubber banding and people have been telling me that i am teleporting all over the place. In world vs world i seem to phase out of reality and run around in zergs without being noticed and then being pulled back to a spot i was 10 minutes ago.

Same issue here. Please Anet fix. I miss GW2 and my friends.

Ok I’m now officially totally frustrated. I haven’t been able to play for about 2 weeks (maybe give or take a few days) now due to the latency, rubber banding and lag issues. It is not just WvW either. It happens in the vigil or other populated places. It is less so out in maps with far less population but still laggy. The worse though is WvW. it is so bad I can’t not play the game. Please fix ASAP! I miss GW2 and my friends.

I play on FSP EU during NA prime time, We moved here from the NA servers the best thing I have experienced overall, less trolly people. But yes Tibstrike is correct in his assessment. This is totally true “glicko ratings are also much closer allowing greater match-up variety.” The game play overall is much better on the EU servers. People tend to work better together, there are far less egos over here too, at least in my personal opinion. Servers here also try to encourage people to go to other servers to make all servers more balanced. In NA everyone just wants to totally stack a few servers rather than encourage more even match-ups

We’ve been seeing a lot more threads popping up about skill lag & other lag related issues lately. Also, we’ve experienced it ourselves.

I would like to get some more information to see if there’s something we can do to mitigate, or fix the issue completely. Here’s what I’m looking for (please try to answer every question if possible):

• What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
  • Skill lag, rubber-banding, etc.
• What server are you on?
• Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
• Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
• Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
  • For example, when 1 zerg is facing another zerg.
  • If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?

Please try to be as brief/concise as possible. We’re not looking for stories of when you experienced this, just some solid data.

If you can think of anything else you believe is pertinent to this topic, feel free to share that as well.

What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?

• Skill lag, rubber-banding, etc.

Oh my this one is loaded for me, personally I have never had horrible lag until the last few weeks (unless on EB in a smc take with tons of players). This week for example, all NPCs and enemy players disappeared. I keep running and pushing buttons nothing my skills went into over drive like i was using them even when I wasn’t I ran from bay to vale and back again no enemies even though ts is giving me a play by play of the action. Ran back to bay then got rubberbanded back to vale and in the think of a fight that was long over, my server mates had moved to briar as the fighting had moved there I was still in vale fighting and they were there. It was funny in a way but sucked because I missed out on all my stuff. This happened 2 to 3 times in the last few weeks. I logged off the game when they did to frustrating to play.

• Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?

• Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
  I don’t recall one party vs another. Although there has been times when 2 or 3 of my crew/guildies did at same time but others didn’t and we were all running together.

• Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
  If you mean am/pm its hard to say as I always play at the same time. So I can only go on that.

• For example, when 1 zerg is facing another zerg.
  well my “zerg” is my guildies and maybe a few heroes thrown in the numbers are usually around 20. However the enemies have numbered far more than that.
• If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?
  Lately the enemies have been numbering 40+ as FSP has faced #3 team and other high pop servers. My zerg usually around 20 unless it was a garrison defend then EB crew comes over.
