@hoegarden
The Mark/$ chart only confirms that the 4670k is a great choice (just like the 3570k). The CPU you suggested is also good, but I’m willing to pay more for a better one, since GW2 is a CPU-heavy game.
True, it’s just a matter of what you use the pc for. If i can render a scene in 3dsmax faster i will be happy. And those extra cores help a lot. So for my playing the game is not that important. I can run and play it, that is enough for me :P
I could buy an Intel one, but i would ended up with a pc who cost me twice the amount i spend on an AMD one.
cpu looks pretty low on the benchmark list and for the same price of that cpu you can get better performance from a higher performing cpu – http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html
I’ve been looking for different rigs myself lately, while most people don’t like that benchmark page because it’s based on using all threads of a cpu, and gw2 doesn’t use all the threads -
Then just use this page : http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html
It will rank the best single thread cpu’s with the price….
I personaly would recommend this one : http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+FX-8350+Eight-Core&id=1780#price
As you can see, it is one of the best performance / $Price. But in single thread it is not that good. But I don’t only play 1 game on a 3000$ pc so I don’t really care.
You can get the “no signal” message too when the gpu start using a resolution the screen can’t handle (or the other way)
But i can’t imagine the game trying to change his resolution while playing. Did any of you used alt tab to minimize the game ?
Not sure if you can, but if it is possible, try to run the game in window mode with a lower resolution than the max of the screen. Just to see if you still get the “no signal” message.
Always check the links in the emails. Just hover the link, and at the bottom you will see to what website it will go. Most of them have weird names in it. Like ‘account.support.guildwars2.login.com.aex-game’…. If you see that, you already know that it is not a legit email….
So binding 1 key to 5 other keys and then press all 5 at the same time is allowed ?
I’m not saying it is not allowed to bind keys to the keyboard. What i think can be banned is assigning a key to the mouse AND to a key on the keyboard.
But again, we are not staff. But i prefer to say no than telling yes use whatever you want and then being suspended for 72 hours or more. Better keep it save if you want to keep your account.
I’m not so sure about that. Because what he now can do is use 2 hands and click very fast on the keyboard and on the mouse button at the same time (or almost) Since both can be used.
And with programs like that or autoclicker, it simulates a mouse click. So the game will just see 100 clicks at a 1ms (or less) interval.
(edited by hoegarden.4287)
Just a wild guess, but maybe the screen cable isn’t plugged in correctly, or damaged.
There’s an option to turn on double click with 1 keyboard press, but as long as I use it as single click from keyboard is single click on mouse, then should be ok?
So you are not allowed to use it.
Of course you can say that you will not activate that option, but the gm’s can’t see what you are doing. Also what it does is that you will have 2 buttons for the same action.
If you want to use the keyboard, you can change the bindings ingame. And assign the keyboard key to the action you want.
Maybe we need some official explanation about what is allowed and what not.
snip
Except that last bit isn’t correct. This is how it runs
(I don’t know how exactly the logitech software writes it, but it’s something along the lines of this, so don’t take it as an actual code)
While(X=ButtonDown) { Mouse.Click sleep = 25ms }
So basically however fast my computer runs, it checks if button ‘X’ is down, Clicks with my mouse, waits 25s and then checks again if ‘X’ is down. It’s actually a loop.
I am pretty sure that is not allowed. Who can check that you actually put a sleep of 25 ms ? Maybe you change it to 0.001 ms….
From the previous posts, you try to make a code that when you press the mouse button and hold it pressed, the script will send a click action after X time. That will give you a huge advantage to other players. Because you can change the time between the clicks.
You actually can do that in cod too. 1 click fires a script who will send 3 clicks at 0.01ms interval. Ingame you will have 3 bullets almost instantly… How is that not cheating ?
You may not use any third-party program (such as a “bot”) in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars 2. You may not assist, relay, or store gold or items for other players who are using these processes.
So if we follow this rule, you can’t do that because it will automate a gameplay function.
You can rebind the keys in game but not allowed to do it with an external program.
We can understand that. I wouldn’t be in the same situation…
I guess it is more a rule to not do this kind of things. Of course they can do it, but the problem is that if they do it for you, they must do it for all other players. Can you imagine 500 000 players all asking to restore 1-2 items because they accidentaly deleted it ?
So that can be a reason why they just don’t do it.
So you got hacked twice ? Maybe it is time for you to check if your email/computer is enough secured :/
And try to send a ticket to see what they can do.
Official response on the Lag issues please?

Here is my file. Not that i notice lag when i play. Just so that you see why it works for me and not for others.
Attachments:
So from the post above, even with a cpu of 300€ you can’t run the game, better go for the amd fx 8530. It is half the price, and will do as good ingame. (and they come with default 4.0 Ghz) With the extra money you save, you can buy a better gpu or more ram.
Maybe some idea for guilds, when there are 2 leaders, you need permission of both to do such big actions. So that one can’t kick the other without his approbation first.
Well that nvidia driver can be the problem. It looks like it is a bad release.
See post : https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Nvidia-Drivers/first#post2166937
“but if I would set a button on the mouse to mimic a key press two or three times in rapid succession”
Not sure if that is actually allowed in any game….
It is also not allowed to use a third party program when playing GW2
You can to the bindings directly ingame if you need it.
And again, if you have a BSOD, dump files are created. You can open them with bleuscreenviewer and you will see what caused the crash. So you can fix it easily.
“Blue screens are typically caused by software errors in device drivers: in NT-based Windows systems by poorly written device drivers, and in the Windows 9x family of operating systems by incompatible DLL driver files or bugs in the software kernel of the operating system. They can also be caused by physical hardware faults, such as faulty RAM or power supplies, overheating of components, or hardware which is run beyond its specification limits (”overclocking")." – Wikipedia
So i’ve no idea what your SSC patch means (i can make abbreviation too if you want like TPLM so that you don’t know what i’m talking about, but it will not help to those who try to help) Anyway, maybe whatever patch you are talking about mess around with dll’s then yes you can have problems. But then again it is not the fault of the game. All it does is copy files from one location to an other. If your computer failed to copy a file, then you can have problems. My gw2 game works everyday without problems, so maybe you have a hard disk that is not very stable or something.
You can also check the BSOD dump files that are created. In there you will see what went wrong. And then you can fix it.
You can find those files in c:\windows\minidumps
If you have trouble reading them, just put them online so we can take a quick look and help you out.
From previous posts, i doubt that they will do that. It is like you go to a store, buy a tv screen, and next day the store put a discount on that screen… they will not give you the discount back.
Well maybe (and this is all very hypothetical ) that the OP just turned his story to his favor ? How can we know that he isn’t telling us the fact that he actually used something ? Nobody is going to tell that on a public forum. We are all humans and that is what we all do. Are you telling your boss every mistake you do at your work ? Or when you skip a lesson at school, do you go see the director and tell him/her that you skipped class and went out to drink a beer ? No, we would just come up with a story that sounds pretty plausible and realistic so that they actually believe that what you did wrong was not your fault/choice.
The only people who can say he didn’t do anything is arenanet. We can only ask the player if he used some kind of program or any other thing he may have done to get banned. But in the end, we can’t decide to unban the person.
@Hoegarden, i don’t know what you mean by mapping on my mouse. The only external software i have for my games is Ventrillo and curse (for WoW addons – 100% legal), which i haven’t used for a while.
@mercury, i guess you’ve calmed me down since you’ve put it that way. Iv’e been searching for posts like mine to see what is causing this, all to negative outcomes and i get upset because most of the appeals seem very sincere. I just hope it some bug with the new update
there are programs for razor who can map key’s to a mouse button. Even if they are legal, you can’t use any program for gw2
Maybe you used a 3rd party software to make the mapping on your mouse.
Any program you use to change/modify stuff in-game is forbidden. If you have changed the key configuration in-game, then wait until you have more info from the ticket.
I have the Zalman ZM NC11. It has a great airflow
It is illogical to ask for a refund, and then buy the game again…
We don’t have to pay each month to play the game, so why didn’t you just left the game (uninstall) and when you wanted to play again, just install log in and play.
The account wouldn’t have been deleted or blocked.
I use a laptop cooler, and it saves me 10-15°C… Ok it has just an i5, but i can run games for hours without having heat problems.
Any hardware or driver failure can shutdown the pc.
So if you are sure that it isn’t heat, or PSU, then check if all drivers use the last version.
Well at least you got help and he explained the problem, and give you a potential solution…
Maybe the other games you play don’t overcharge the gpu/cpu so much than gw2.
You can try to clean the inside a little so that most of the dust is gone.
I only installed windows on my ssd. The game is on a 6Gb/s sata HDD.
So when i’m not gaming or doing something, the HDD go in sleep mode.
Maybe i can win a few seconds during the map loading’s, but I can wait 1-2 seconds longer

You ask yourself from where they get your email ? It can go from facebook to your little local newspaper website where you made an account on. Any website can be used to get the email of a person.
There is no automated banning system.
But if you send gold with just an empty message then you almost ask to get banned.
If you (and the ones who send gold to you) take time to make a nice message and send that with the gold, the moderators will see that it was not a bot/hacker/third party program who is sending gold to a specific target account.
just select the last dump file you see when you open it.
Maybe you can check the blue screen error you have to see the problem.
You can use a program called bluescreenview to open the dump files created, and see what is the problem. You can also post the error here so we can help you
I will not leave the char auto-run into a wall. Player can think you are a bot and report you… If you want to test your graphic card, maybe you can use software who are designed to test that kind of stuff. (3d mark for example)
That will give you a more accurate view than the game.
yes, u will trigger the auto ban bot.
i’ve seen it happened a few times to a few of my fellow guild members.
I’m pretty sure there is no auto ban bot trigger. Every ban is reviewed and judged by a person.
Now it can get the OP in trouble if those 200 gold come from like 20 different persons. (So 20 persons gives him 10 gold). The moderator can see that has hacked account or something else.
Maybe when you send money to a person, try to put some text in the mail too. To show it is from an actual player.
Maybe it is a driver problem. Wrong settings or something.
I know that EVGA cards have a lot of trouble when you have one screen is 59.94Hz native refresh rate and the other is 60 Hz.
Gaile Gray.6028:Let’s look at a scenario: Say there are detection systems that ascertain you are using a specific third-party program that is known to give players an advantage. Do you think that we would go through your entire gameplay history to see “This person does not play PvP, so the program is not giving him/her any advantage, so therefore his using it is acceptable?” I am sure when you read that, you’ll realize that to do so would be incredibly time-consuming and an unrealistic expectation on the part of any player.
That was not meant to be a specific monitoring of everything I’ve ever done, that was a “I get banned (while the same bots farm for the 5th week in a row) and there’s proof I never participated in PVP or that I gained an advantage”, which is seemingly what they fret over, along with botting.
Gaile Gray.6028:I don’t think you should decide “Well, in my use this is ok” so much as assess “This program could be used for advantage, and I therefore will give it a wide berth.”
Unfortunately I don’t agree with the “Some people abuse it, so no one can do it” attitude – ironic when I live in the UK. All third-party programs are going to give an advantage in some way over someone who doesn’t also use it. If it was such a problem there wouldn’t be a grey area about it of ‘maybe this is ok to use, but then again maybe not’.
And that is why all third-party programs are not allowed…
So to clear your ‘grey area’ just say it as a fact : no third-party program is allowed
That is a pretty simple rule to follow i guess
Even if you can install the game without internet connection, you wil have around 10Gb of updates to do when you try to play the game. So you will have to download in any case.
Sometimes it is the combination of “alt+shift” who will change the language.
The reason why it change back when you go to the desktop is because you changed it for the game only.
Look here if you need help changing the combination, or setting the right language back for the game:

First things to do is start a ticket, remove that IP from the list, change any password related to the account. And maybe create even a new email and never use that email for any other games or forums. So that hackers can’t get information of it.
With the help of the support, you will get your account like it was just before the hacking. You will get the gems back and any other items missing.
Hope this will help you.
Or maybe you should start studying, and not try to run games when they don’t allowed it. I’ve known several people banned from the campus because they tried stuff like that.
(Or maybe they weren’t just gaming online…)
But i can’t imagine that Arenanet will ban you for that. As long as you activate the ip, there should be no problems.
So you knew it was an abusive name… Read the conditions and stuff first next time before trying a name you know is abusive but thing ‘maybe they will not notice’.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag
So that you know what lag actually is… and tell me how an update can make you lag more ?
If you were hacked, then yes they will rollback your account just before the hacking.
gems are on the account i guess, so why do you want a refund ? Just let them where they are now, and use them when you need a pretty design or something else from the store.
