Very interesting and disturbing. There’s been a TON of account hacks going around recently. Anet, as well as certain forum regulars always find a way to blame the player, but it’s all really fishy, especially after hearing your story.
It is indeed interesting. There are maybe a ton of account hacks. But there are also a ton who don’t get any hacks. Not even an attempt or something… How do you explain that ?
If Anet had an open backdoor, a lot more players would have been hacked.
Also if i read this post, all i can think of is a keylogger on the OP’s computer.
Or like he said, the hacker didn’t got really disconnected when you remove the ip access and he still was logged in on the launcher. Only in the last case it is Anet’s fault.
Those phishing emails are indeed just send at random i guess.
I only got those emails on a crap email i used for random logins or sites. On the email i use for gw2 never got targeted by this kind of issues.
So keep using different emails. If you use gmail you can easily add secondary emails for this kind of stuff.
It will save your life sometimes
Keep them until they aren’t to much anymore for you
They will not go away for ever so just keep them and wait until you need one.
Never click on those links… this can give you only more spam. (like they put your email in a database to spam)
Mostly when you hover the link with the mouse, you will see at the bottom of the browser where it is going. And those kind of links may look legit, but when you hover it you see mostly .com.156klytems stuff then you know it is bad
At least you are lucky to be able to participate to that survey…
I just hope that the targeted group who got the email aren’t the ones who bought gems on a regular basis xD

Weird… I still haven’t got an email of this kind on my email linked to the GW2 account…
I still get the usual spam emails on my other email that was never linked to a GW2 account but it is not my fault those hackers are to stupid…
Hope this is a real survey and get the email too

Pretty sure it is not legit. I didn’t got this email on my legit gw2 email address.
Even the email address who get the scam emails hasn’t received this email yet.
Can’t you invite that friend at your home ? Let him play on your account for a few hours while you are watching.
That way your friend can test it and buy it in the future
Add all the dynamic events of guildwars in planetside 2 and i guess that the game will drop badly with 300+ poeple on the screen…
I think that it isn’t the graphics who make the game lag. If that was the case, why would the cpu be the bottleneck ? It is just the amount of calculations there are need to be done.
Planetside is just a big arena with no events and a bunch of players. The cpu don’t have to do much to keep the game running.
then look again at battlefield 4, the amount of destructive environment makes the game a lot heavier to use than the ones before.
And why don’t you just stop playing the game ?
You will not lose everything, and if you get time again you can play without problems.
Just delete the files and don’t play again. Unless you really need the money, I don’t see the point of a refund…
Your old name was indeed wrong is many ways.
Just by the fact that it contained a word that is censored, they have a reason to change it. Then the reference to “god” isn’t really good too since it is a religious figure so
Reference religious or historical figures : yes
Use misspellings or alternative spellings of names that violate any of the above rules : yes
I agree is some ways. If the connection is lost i can understand that you don’t want to get banned for it. You can’t really predict when your internet will be down or when your PSU explode. If we knew all that days ahead, our life would be much simpler isn’kitten
Then about the family part. You know getting involved in ranked matches takes time. If you just have a few hours where you can be alone, then don’t do it. Better go to the park with the kids or do something else
So in Draygo’s view, only players who pay 200€ each month to get fiber optic internet who never fail can play ranked pvp… not very fair i guess.
As soon as you see ‘will be shut down’ you can assume it isn’t an official email. If I remember, the staff will not send emails to warn you for a possible suspension. They will just give you the suspension.
Actually my IP changes quit often too. But what i see in the allowed adresses is that there is a range of ip’s that are allowed. So all ip’s from 88.xxx.xxx.000 to 88.xxx.xxx.255 don’t any authentication. Also i know that those ip’s are country based. So i’m pretty sure that only people in my zone have ip’s starting with the 88.xxx (guess that is how google can block websites only in the UK or any other country).
But this allows me to login from different locations/computers without having to wait for an email
I’m glad i bought the game with a case :p
But people must understand that those serial keys are pretty important. I guess you don’t lose your bank account ids that quick too.
Simple answer for this : no.
Unless it was a bug you can’t get a refund of it. But there exists some ways to use both items by infuse one of them or something like that.
I’m pretty sure that even with a 100 000 $ computer, you couldn’t run the game in WvW without lag and acceptable ftps.
The setup you gonna buy looks good enough to run it but don’t expect to run it at full details and get 60 fps.
Maybe you did something unacceptable before the hacking. They log everything since the start of the account, so if they find some bad words since then, you will get suspended. So maybe because you reported the hack that they looked in all the log files to see what happened.
Just contact the support again to get more information.
I remember there is a program for the first guild wars too who allowed to change all the UI stuff.
Now the question is does all those UI changes give you an advantage in WvW ? If it does, then you can’t use it. But the problem again is where is the limit to define the “it is an advantage”. I mean that you can think changing colors of enemies is having an advantage to others. Or having more damage reports or stuff like that.
I’m using this one : http://www.zalman.com/eng/product/Product_Read.php?Idx=492
Has a bigger fan than the NotePal X3. The airflow is amazingly good.
The thing you must look out is how they handle the air. Don’t buy a cooler who suck the air from the bottom of the laptop. Personnaly i like the air being puched on the laptop.
With mine at full speed i can feel the cool air coming truth the keyboard.
Yawa what do you mean by an AMD client. One that can support eight cores? Anything that can be done to make it perform better on a mid-range AMD CPU will automatically make it better on an Intel CPU. So I’m confused by your request.
an FX 8350 isn’t the usual mid-range CPU… If you compare the full cores with a high end intel one with 4 physical cares with hyper-threading, the amd is more powerful since the cores don’t share the same memory.
Intel is better for you compare just one core. The problem here is more that guild wars 2 uses a ‘updated’ version of the guild wars 1 engine. Maybe they miscalculated the power of it. Maybe they are already making something new. And as some ‘programmers’ here know it can’t be done in 5 minutes, it will take time until we all get a real update for this issue.
1) It makes sense the monster was attacking you, and from one moment to an other you disappear… The monster is totally confused about what happened and try to use his nose to find you again.
Have you ever played catch and fetch with a dog ? Try to fake the trow of the ball, he will try to find it even if there are 10 other balls around. All he wants is the one you hold in your hand. Same happens in guild wars 2
Maybe you missed windows 7
What happens when you try to run it ? Do you have the login screen ? Does the screen turn black then go back to the desktop ?
Also if you want to go back, try to get windows 7 should be better than a vista
We probably all have this. Actually if i don’t have this thing, i begin to thing that the game is crashing.
I know that during the beta you actually saw the desktop and not just a black screen.
Anyways, you got in game after all, so there is no problem with the game or your amd card.

If you did something wrong, they would have suspended your account and after that they send an email.
They never send emails to tell you that your account will be disabled in the future.
Also don’t post the link in here. Some players may click on it and get some trouble.
You can also check the link in the email by hovering over the link (never click on it first). On the bottom right (or somewhere on the screen :p) you will see to what site it will go. In most emails, they all start with guildwars2.com.456132.tk Just notice the weird numbers or letters after the .com.
Just ignore those emails and have fun playing the game
Well mercury the amount of the snicker’s will not change after you buy it.
In this case the OP bought an item and later the item changed. And he is not pleased about that change.
For me it simple, I get Anet emails too but on the wrong email… Those bad, naughty people aren’t that intelligent if you ask me :P
Also check the links when you hover them with the mouse. If you see weird words don’t click on it.
Make a ticket and try. Maybe they will allow it since it was a high lvl character.
Just explain the problem and ask. Still beter than starting all over again.
Details about the Guild Wars 2 First Birthday Gift

Though, I think the birthday gift distribution can not be compared to the Karka event, at all. Everyone gets the same thing(s).
That is just the problem. We all get the same thing(s) but not the same number. So what it looks like now is that some players can use 2-3 (or even 4) times a birthday boost and others can use it only once… How can that be fair ?
“I’d like something with 1920×1020 res, just anything that isn’t 1366×798 crap.”
What if i tell you that you can get a 15 inch screen full hd with a 1366×798 resolution ?
Also a 15 inch screen is far beter for gaming than any other 17+ inch laptop. Since you don’t overload the gpu. And the images just look the same. (hd is hd anyway).
Also the price will be bigger if you want a bigger screen.

I think its not fair that some people get double the presents. I only got 1 because of this bug.
No, a few people received a second gift. Not a lot, but a few. This was a factor of how the distribution was made, and how the fix was rolled out. It’s not an intentional double-gifting, and you got everything to which you are entitled and of course we’re sorry for any confusion that this caused.
A few must be thousands, because I know several people who got double presents.
I know people who got more than 2 presents… Still wondering how that is fair.
Maybe only a small group got more presents, so I would think it is easier to delete those again (since the number is small) Or check who has the most presents, and give all those who already had one the same amount :p
If it isn’t already done, you can put the game on very low as you can. The p6100 is just a dual cpu, not very fast and with only 3Mb cache…
Maybe you should put more ram too. But i would buy a new laptop if possible. (a desktop is always beter)
Same here. If i’m on a more specific network (like at work :p), it only allows a block of /4 or /16
Example IP Range:
xxx.200.0.0 – xxx.200.255.255
xxx.0.0.0 – xxx.255.255.255
(Because the forum think you write tha tit’s without the apostrophe :p)
If you allow that Salome then using an autoclicker is allowed to ?
How would they be able to determine who is the one clicking ?
Unless they install a camera at the user’s end to film the screen of each player, they can’t make the difference between a human and a machine. Unless they look at the time between the 2 actions.
I’m sure it is pretty hard to do 20 clicks in 1 second as a human, so they can block that.
But then we have the problem that you can bind 2 keys to one action (It seems that this is allowed too…) So you can asign the mouse click to button 1 2 3 4 of the keyboard, and use 4 fingers at the same time to increase even more the number of actions you can do in 1 second.
Maybe nerds can even make phisical robot hads who can click the mouse for you at a high speed. But for me if they say 1 key = action then 1 action = 1 key otherwise it is pretty useless to forbid autoclickers since there are a lot of ways to get the same result.
He must install a new windows anyway if he want to go over the 4GB.
The laptop is probably sold with just a win7 home premium 32bit.
Overall a descent laptop for that price.
Can we have a total price at the end too ? I want to compare my amd setup with an intel one.
If the account was hacked, you can ask to restore it like it was just before the hacking.
That means that you should get your level 25 back.

Can't play the game well - LOW FPS - NEW PC
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: hoegarden.4287
You can’t compare TES Oblivion with Gw2…. complete different games, and gw2 is so heavy because of all the realtime events going on in the game (i think)
Laptops aren’t great anyway to play games. Unless you buy a custom one like MSI or Razer… In any case, it will cost more than a regular laptop. (Or even more than a pretty hardcore desktop pc)
Well i can manually change the speed if needed. But with hot days like yesterday, he go up to 73°C if i don’t put the speed at 90%
My vapor x gpu at full speed sounds like a boeing 747… They run both at 2200 rpm at 100%…
isn’t the first warning the 72 hour suspension ?
I thought it was, and after that time, you must change the name.
If he is calling the same event over and over again, it can be spamming no ?
i wouldn’t be surprised if that is allowed….
It is also allowed to map 1 action to 10 keys and press all keys at once… It will not count as an auto-clicking thing…. But the effect is almost the same. 10 actions fired in less than 0.1 second…

Right now the FX-8350 does a fair job keeping up with the i7-2600 in heavily multithreaded tasks but now it’s 15-20% slower than the i7-4770 and 10% slower than the i7-3770. But in every case those Intel CPUs will beat it handily when running a game when CPU performance makes a difference, meaning it’s not being limited by video card performance.
Sure if you crank a video card intensive game like Metro 2033 up to it’s max, it really doesn’t matter which CPU you use, you will be within a percent or two in frame rate. But in a game like Civ 5, it will be a noticeable difference.
And if you aren’t cranking the video and resolution settings to 11, the gap will simply grow.
But again, you are telling that a 180€ cpu is 15-20% slower than a cpu who cost 45% more. The i7-4770 costs here around 260€, so I actually expect that one to be better.
We can’t compare apples with peers… So compare a 180€ amd cpu with a 180€ intel cpu. That will give you a fair view of what you get for your money.
