Glory points can be spent swiftly without any going to waste, no problem, but Glory boosters have a duration of 1 hour, so to efficiently spend them all, you are going to need to have enough time at your disposal to pvp with them and not let any go to waste (eg. 2 stacks of boosters, you will at least need 500 hours to not let any go to waste). May I also remind that many of these boosters are also bought with money? Some may have just bought a bit too much to reasonably spend them all by March 18th. Glory boosters should be compensated for patch coming on the 18th of March.
Since they are thinking of making PvP more related to PvE, i wonder why they did not border converting glory to karma. So that Glory is not totally useless for those tht can’t think of anything to do with it. still useless but less useless than having nothing.
Gold would be a more reasonable compensation since it will be a mutual currency between PvE and PvP. But I am not sure how I feel about compensating for glory points since they can all be spent swiftly and efficiently. As for glory boosters, I feel as if we should be able to redeem them for something; may I also remind that they are cash items (some may have bought at an amount not reasonable to all be used by March 18th).

Hellmasker.1649:
“So the glory boosters are just vanishing? No compensation at all for ~200 boosters?”
Allie Murdock (Community Coordinator):
“That is correct, Hellmasker.1649.”
Are there any benefits of the fact that glory will be removed? Some kind of game balance? Reason for players to do any new activities?
Anet team did say long ago that they have too many unique currencies in-game, so I am sure decreasing the variety for simplicity is one of the factors.
This is a rather complex thing to fix though.
Removing the debuff due to disconnecting will simply mean people will disconnect their internet instead of leaving and thus not getting the debuff even if they do leave.
That is what I was afraid to hear. Makes too much sense.

Shoot! What you did was so much more efficient than me buying chests (1k glory) hoping for dyes which is like 20% chance. Totally forgot you can craft dyes with pvp mats. And then I looked up your method of profiting with gifts via pvp vendors during Wintersday, and darn it again…I should have used my glory points for that! I used like the most lamest method of all to profit for gold LOL.
So I spent about half an hour looking up the values of the gifts back then in terms of gold and glory points to determine how much I could have made…
Pvp vendors were selling 10 gifts for 200 glory points.
I had 400k glory points during Wintersday
400k glory points divided by 200 glory points= 2000 sets of 10 gifts
So 2000 sets times 10 gifts (because each set is 10 gifts)= 20k gifts!
1 Gift= 2 s (estimate) which means 10 gifts = 20 silver aka 50 gifts= 1 gold
Now 20k gifts divided by 50 gifts (50 gifts = 1 gold) equals 400gold!I could have made about 350 more gold!
Darn you young Jayvux :,(…
I can hardly sleep on this lmao.Soz for the wall of text, just needed to vent my “sorrow” a leedo LOL
Assuming you’ve spent 400k glory on 1k glory chest, you should have a lot of spare crafting materials you can craft dyes with.
If you haven’t done it yet, you are supposed to have about 150 more dyes to make with those mats and a few more glory (for consumable tokens and arcane converters). And yes, the wintersday gift vendor was a true bless for main PvP players but sadly they removed it right after the wintersday event along with all my hopes of making golds out of PvP.
I also discovered that a few hours after dumping out all my extra stacks of pvp mats lmfao. Left with about 100 glory points and 33 consumable tokens with a 60 silver-ish profit making dyes with the mats I had left at my disposal. Wish I had at least learned these hard ways sooner hahah. Gross fortune!
Dishing it all out on chests for skins and dyes before they (glory points/boosters) expire on March 18th!

OMFG dat golds
plis, give 10 gold to charity to us poor dedicated PvPers.
The max amount of gold I’ve ever had in my entire GW2 career was 280 and it was during the last Wintersday event selling gifts. Shame on me I’ve spent my gloring making dyes so I didn’t have that much glory when they added the gift NPC.Now I’m down again to about 80 golds.

From my understanding, you will still keep your Glory points after the patch until they implement their new system. So I doubt it’s a silly move since there won’t be any new rewards to get from glory.
Phew, reasonable enough >:)
Real pvpers don’t have 2k gold.
Lmao! XD You’re right, I am mainly a pve-er heheh.

Do you really think 600,000 points are a huge amount?
There is always that one guy that comes into a lighthearted thread and starts flexing…
Where in his post did he say, “BEHOLD, The king of all glory accumulation will now demonstrate his amazing glory stash!”
I do not flex. I just ask a question.
He shows us a picture of his glory and marks it.
If you dont share my point of view, I dont really care.
Hey Noc! I am so sorry if I offended you in any way with my thread :/, but I am merely showing how much I will be dishing out and what I will be getting in return with no intention of boasting about my glory points. As a casual PvPer who never paid attention to his glory points, I am oblivious to what is considered a little and a huge amount, but I am a gracious man so I do appreciate what I reap =)

The glory is going? I was under the impresion only the boosters were….i don’t have ny left anyways, due to using it all on leveling tomes
“This post is to let you know that glory will no longer be awarded as of a maintenance build that is currently planned for March 18.” and “The glory vendor that was introduced in the December 10 build will remain until the new reward system is released in a later update so you’ll have an avenue to spend your existing glory”
^ That is how I comprehended the message, that glory points will expire AND be removed via the March 18th patch x)
Hope I didn’t just make a silly move haha

-sniffles-
Hey guys,
The chests themselves will not be removed from the game. The update is that the chests will no longer be rewarded starting the 18th.
Sorry for any confusion!
What about the glory boosters that comes in the chests, will they be replaced with another reward after the phasing out of glory boosters?
I was enjoying the bonus points today in arena until I got a dishonorable buff. I did not purposely leave any arena, but I did have connection issues today and was repeated dcing. I think its pretty unfair that I now will miss the rest of this weekend in arena as I cant play in an arena now for 2 days. Please fix this Anet.
Also considering the fact that GW2 has been DDoS hacked this whole week. Hope they take that into consideration. I got dishonored yesterday after completing a whole tourney game o.o, the 2 games prior to that I got penalties due to the ddos attacks and not making it back to the match in time. zzz

Thanks for all your services and memories!

This is not a bug, The Debuff is working as intended.
The DC-issues are recognised and being worked on. So in this case I would recommend to make a suggestion in the pvp forum to change the dishonorable debuff system as follows (well it would be your suggestion I don’t play PvP, but this is what I think would be fair)1: when Anet recognises that they have server issue, all dishonorable statusses are removed.
2: when there are extended periods of server lags, anet has the abillity to change the system temporarly that you have 4-5-6 or even more penalty’sI should have mentioned that I am also aware the first 2 penalties are not considered bugs, but the last one is. I hear it takes 3 penalties within 72 hours for the debuff to be activated. I am fine with the first 2, no big deal, but my third one is totally out of the blue. I was an active participant from start to finish for that game. I can’t comprehend how I was penalized for that game, and because of that third one, I can’t join any tourney games anymore til 10 hrs later.
(Non-bug related)
My friend recently just got DC’d 3 times in 3 different tourneys due to the ddos attack and couldn’t return in time in any, and uh he is now dishonored til tomorrow LUL.. Surely something can be done about this to make sure this debuff is not spreading around unjustifiably. Why he persisted joining even during this DC mayhem is beyond my comprehension.
It has nothing to do with the patch, it’s another DDoS attack…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Network-Lag-Merged/page/44#post3637646
I’m pretty sure that is unrelated to us due to the timing of the DDoS attacks and the post dates. As for myself, I have been dcing left and right with an inconsistent pattern ever since Teq patch.
Same here, been dealing with this for months now. Only with this game like u guys.
Just DC’d 5 times in the last 15 minutes; no matter where I am, PvP, WvW, PvE. :<

^ same here.
Tourney-Dishonorable Debuff..
My knowledge is that, if you get a penalty x3 within a 72 hour time period, you will get the debuff. The first 2 penalties is all right, understandable, but the last penalty…wut.
I played the game until the end, and all of a sudden I got dishonorable (unjustified). Here is what happened:
Within 72 hours:
1st penalty= DC’d and couldn’t get back to game in time due to unusual error 58/7
2nd penalty= DC’d from game server crash from a DDoS group and couldn’t get back in game in time.
3rd penalty= Finished my game all the way through. Redirected back to HotM, and I got dishonored.
I am well aware you can’t lift dishonorable-debuff, and even so you guys don’t have the system or resources yet to compensate achievement points. But please try to fix this asap. A compensation would be lovely as I am an achievement hoarder so the last 3 achievement points from the tourney dailies really mean something to me LOL /sadpanda
Cheers.

Woot!
Speaking of glory, for the chests that we currently have in our inventory…what would happen to its rewards if we open it after the glory boosters/rewards get phased out. Would there be any amendments to the rewards in the chests? (eg. chests’ glory boosters being replaced with another reward?)
And also, any type of compensations to our glory boosters if we do not use them by March 18th? (eg. trade in for a set amount of gold, etc). Players such as myself that have stacks and stacks of these boosters will more than likely not be able to use them all (productively) before the phasing out of the glory rewards.

When we are behind the gates waiting for the match to start, they would move around fine as if they are trying to make themselves known… then as soon as the game starts… they DC, pop back in, DC, pop back in. Had them all reported. Suspecting they are glory pt-farming; they always make it back right before the game ends.
P.S All different players (different IDs) for all the different occasions above.

Here is my diagnostic.
Been DCing every 2 to 5 minutes every night.
Talked to numerous ISP agents, all claim I have great connection and can’t explain why it is only happening with GW2.

Getting this every 2 to 10 minutes. Anyone else experiencing this?
Net works flawlessly with other games and browsing the web.
Only happens with gw2. It would disconnect my internet as well with it.
As I’ve mentioned previously for anyone experiencing this issue – please submit a technical support ticket so we can assist you one on one.
Any comments on “server hopping” issue? Most of us are diagnosed with that. Like I said, anet techie said it’s neither the player’s fault nor anet’s fault. So how do we go about fixing this :X
