Hi Ashley,
Yeah, unfortunately I have, with negative results.
Regarding the port 80 matter, I am referring to /clientport 80, it was advised by a gw2 technician last month; no improvements or any signs of performance changes.
I am now only experiencing error 7. It is happening about every 2 min.
This only happens with GW2.
Personal, wireless and verizon router.
If you go wired, does the issue go away?
Negative :l
Good afternoon Ashley,
All forms of security disabled (eg. firewall, antiyvirus)- Check
Running as admin- Check
Broadband Internet connection- Check
Port 80- Check
Personal, wireless and verizon router.
:( My internet is fine, everything else requiring the use of net is working fine (eg. online games, browsing internet, etc.)
Same here, ever since yesterday
Have done it 20 times+
No progress for the achievement.
Before expanding the world, I would like Anet to make each map with more depth of contents. There are already too many maps deserted. They need more incentives, something that makes each map (not necessarily all of them) worth going back to.
I loved and still love gw1 factions, hopefully it will somehow be reintroduced in gw2.
Me too! Never was fond of these mini-launchers.
It is on my xmas list for gw2
DCing on the constant in WVW
It just returned for me, was fixed for me for a bit, short-lived
my fully abys dyed human thief
Yeah, only logging on for dailies and living story now.
I keep playing because I truly believe Gw2 isn’t at its prime yet and also believe in anet that they will get gw2 there. Their work ethics and dedication to the game are unquestionable.
Same goes for thieves Gw1 armor for thieves were siiiick, except from Factions.
Wardrobe please :-D
Haven’t really had any extreme fun ever since I played which has been about a year so far. But it is worth what I paid for. Only had any fun due to my guild. I still have not quit because I have high trust and hopes in Anet, they have great work ethics and you can definite feel they are passionate and dedicated to making GW2 a great game. I believe we have yet to see GW2’s prime. I am also spoiled by gw2’s fluidity in its combat although dull in many other aspects, but that is a topic for another day.
I think the problem is the contents not being rewarding enough. Everything ultimately is just about achievements and skins; look at our living story releases so far :P On top of that, zergfesting, dear lord lol. Hard to be a hardcore player in this game with rewards like these. Not much of anything that helps develops and progress your toon, thus the lack of emotional attachment with my toons even with my main
What does “professional” even mean? Do I have to be paid to play the game to be “professional”? What is the difference between “hardcore” and “midcore” (I confess, this is the first time I’ve heard of “midcore”). It’s hard to do a sensible survey like this if we don’t define our terms.
1.) That is how I would like it to be defined in this survey for the sake of keeping it simple since other than that, the line between hardcore and professional is rather fuzzy. So yes, in this case you must be sponsored/paid. (Thanks for asking)
2.) “A core or mild gamer is a player with a wider range of interests than a casual gamer and is more likely to enthusiastically play different types of games,9 but without the amount of time spent and sense of competition of a hardcore gamer.” Haha don’t sweat it, I only heard about it few months ago :P
More info here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamer
(edited by jayvux.4128)
1.) What type of player are you?
(Casual, midcore, hardcore, paid professional, etc)
2.) Which game content best classifies you?
(PvE, sPvP, WvW, all, etc)
3.) How would you rate GW2 based on your play style?
(1-10; 10 being flawless, 1 being flop)
Optional (Highly recommended)
What would you like to see GW2 improve on to better your gaming experience with it?
Looking forward to your responses!

Do people actually find grinding out ascended gear fun? The 100s of gold spent PER profession, the time gating, the champ/event trains for ascended mats, the tons of lower tier mats required…THIS is fun? THIS actually makes people happy and want to keep playing the game?
No, it isnt fun. But that is why this time around, Im going to just acquire ascended gear if I can when I can. Im going to try to simply enjoy the game, rather than creating things to do for myself.
If that is at all possible.
All this grinding really is a result of playing the game in a way it was never designed to be played. You were supposed to just get Ascended weapons when you do, it was never needed for anything in the game (not gonna go into that discussion again), it was just there as a way to reward doing certain content in the game and to make you feel like you’re progressing.
It’s like getting a new PS2 game as a kid, you don’t need it but it’s nice to have it and play it.
Sad fact for us midcore/hardcore gamers
i didnt stop but lately i find less reasons to log in,we need more personal story content,or side missions even the traditional ones via LS,i wanna see progression,i wanna hear from my choices made back a while, see the pact, missios for my order,go back home and help out..fell that im progressing story wise, not lvl wise i mean,we saved the world and then went on a festival spree and random crisis that relte to a crazy cardboard villan sylvari…
I agree with everything said here. I would also like to start feeling more heroic than the NPCs, I feel as if I am nothing more than a sidekick/mercenary at the moment; can’t do this without you arenanet

I know its really weird…
Honestly a choice between doing that and overtime at work, I would choose the overtime…that’s how rubbish and unfun it is!
Precisely :P
Looking for more impactful and deep releases :-)
Nonetheless, I am grateful still for their work ethics and being able to pull off releases every 2 weeks, props!
I believe majority of the players that have come to a halt with playing gw2 are the midcore players and above.
To put it VERY simply; the game is designed to cater to casuals.
Not much progression in the game, thus the lack of much emotional attachment to your toon (at least for myself). The rewards mostly if not all revolve around charismatic purposes :P. Stats are very restrictive due to its auto-assigning nature. Not much variations between players in many aspects such as stats, gears, weapons, skins, etc. Not much to show off in the game really esp when everything is scaled and not much of any invisible barriers in the game regardless of levels; as anet said, the whole game is endgame already; everyone is too similar/equal. Not much individualism, most contents are based around zerging (eg. living story releases such as MK Lab, Scarlet Invasions, WvW, etc). The grinds are boring, kill 1000, eat 1000, revive 1000, etc; their payoffs are just a dinky amount of achievement points which after a long time grinding for them rewards you with a skin and other not very significant/impactful items. Lack of feeling like a hero, esp since the story doesn’t play an important role in the game; NPCs seem more heroic in my eyes than my toon(s), I feel as if I am just a mercenary aiding the heroic NPCs. This is all just according to my preferences.
TLDR: Nothing in the game is very significant or impactful in terms of character growth/strength aka no vertical progression? (besides fotm). It’s really just Skin Wars in my eyes without looking too deep and technical about the game.
P.S I am still a loyal fan and player of GW2, because I believe in Anet, they have one of the best work ethics I have ever seen in a gaming company with great moral values. And I am also spoiled by the fluidity of the combat although dull to me, but that is a topic for another day.

Hope you guys enjoy it!

How do you guys feel about the way our stats are auto-assigned at the moment?
Should our stats be manually assigned by the players themselves?
Also, what do you think about the variations of stat combos on our gears in terms of what and how many you can choose from?
(edited by jayvux.4128)
Great, thanks a lot!
Surprisingly swift reply Procrastinator
What is “tick”?
I am assuming another name for “potential points”?
Hope I didn’t sound silly haha.
Thanks in advance!
Relieved to know I am not the only one noticing and feeling the same about it.
LF more black and redSo pretty much more:
-Molten
-Fused
-Destroyer
etc.
Oh pls no, enough with the flamey gears. I am still scarred from those young days in gw2 where Tyria was infested with CoF weaps/armors-wearers were everywhere. Molten, fused, destroyer, etc leans more toward orange and super dark grey.
I am talking Twilight/Modniir Quarterstaff
I love me some sinister feels
Esp on a dagger, a legendary dagger.

I enjoy the general idea of public profiles. I am leaning more towards profiles that shows off one’s achievements and accomplishments. Displaying titles was a nice baby step toward this idea.
there are no zergs there, because peopel on the low populated servers know that they are low populated and due to this simply aren’t interested in WVW at all, because they know they lose so or so anyway always.
But if you merge servers together to increase the overall population for everybody on the affected merged servers, people on the merged server could gain more interest in WVW, because they have then the manpower to come up with competitive zergs …
I meant zergs in pve which are the cancer of this game. Empty servers are the most healthy ones in pve.
Hmm, I am sure and hoping you mean low-populated servers lol.
In what aspects may I ask that lower-populated servers are healthier ones for PvE?
In terms of efficiency/progression, I can’t imagine finishing most living story metas (at least under a reasonable amount of time) without a zerg, especially MK’s lab.
P.S @OP, I am all for it.

You have my full support for this suggestion.
I have done the Lunatic Inquisition countless times with no progress made in its achievement, “Lunatic Inquisition Regular”
Sorry but when I can see the rocky bottom I KNOW it’s shallow, very evident bottom there.
Perhaps you missed the second sentence? Things may look deceiving from a far view hehe

DCing every few seconds ._.
Internet is fine…browsing just fine, other online games, perfect.
Just gw2
“The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this time., etc”
Especially in Mad King’s Lab
Any fixes?
Trouble logging back in too due to some connection
Can’t be my internet, everything else is working smoothly atm, only guild wars 2 giving me a hard tiem
been experiencing this all day all night ever since MK patch
Much of everything I had in mind has been voiced out already in this thread.
I will just add a bit more, not necessarily just in regards to the living world, but the game as a whole and its root problems from my perspective.
I think the foundation of keeping GW2 as a casual game is where all the “dullness” and “no sense of progression” derived from; at least the idea of “casual” Anet had in mind. Arenanet aims for a casual and friendly community, that is great, but it should not be at the expense of the game’s fun-level.
There are no invisible barriers stopping from one player grouping with other regardless of level. The game itself= endgame already as stated by anet’s devs; No hierarchy, no individualism, not much to show off for your toon thus the lack of strong attachment with your toon, everyone is too equal, no sense of personal value, etc.
Solo-play imo lacks any sense of great fun. I believe I speak for most when I would like to feel like a hero. But most contents of the game can only be done with a group of other players, at least under a reasonable amount of time which leads to everything said in the above paragraph.
Being put into overflows really doesn’t help the matter; it personally strikes to me as I am an insignificant player, “sorry bro, no room for you”, I am just a number. I am well aware this is to keep the area from being a lagfest and whatnot, but maybe using Gw1’s method of having multiple channels that we players can MANUALLY choose from would be nicer. I don’t like the idea of just being thrown in into a random server like a ragdoll. It is a lot more convenient to join up with your friends as well as opposed to having to party that friend to join into his/her “overflow”. The name “overflow” itself really reeks of negative connotation as well. Maybe I am just overreacting x)
All in all, I guess what I am saying is that I would like more incentives, more of a vertical progression to be applied to the game. We need more accomplishments, not “achievements”.
The living world would naturally be a lot more rewarding this way. So far, whenever I think living story, I think zerging, achievement points and skins.
Guild Wars 2 is a huge world, but a huge world of not much depth. I don’t mean to be a party-crasher, but if it’s one thing GW2 has taught me, it is to never mainly cater to casuals. Casual players don’t need much to keep them happy and engaged. The other players (midcore/hardcore) who spend more time on the game suffer. Near perfect game for RPers though! :-)
I just woke up, so my early apologies for my horrible literature and its subtopics being all over the place haha. I will return with amendments and edits.
P.S Thank you Arenanet for this thread. It is a great step towards making GW2 a better game we all want it to be.
