I agree that they should do something about the character size. The only reason i have asura characters is because their animations are so much better and it just feels alot “cooler” to play with them.
lol at people using killshot as an excuse you have to build super glass with no useful utilities on your bars for that kind of damage. The cast is so obvious and slow. If you die to killshot then you must really struggle against every other class in the game or have very bad eyesight.

I don’t know what you did in the last mini-patch (released yesterday 03.0.6) but it has made my game unplayable. It is lagging/dropping connection for 1-2 seconds every 30 seconds or so. I’ve had internet problems in the past so i always have logs open pinging to different websites and none of them show any connectivity issues + in resource monitor the latency to guildwars servers is fine.
Enemy phantasms appear like regular clones without the “transparency” since 1-2 (?) weeks ago. As if killing phantasm mesmers is not hard enough already…..
This suggestion is as old as beta weekends. Apparently ANET thinks it’s okay.

As an elem I get close to my target and get ready to use Updraft to initiate my combo, I get immobilized just before the skill was about to fire so it does not, and at the end of the immobilize Updraft fires…Yes, I love to do windy blackflips in the middle of the battlefield just for the looks of it!
Updraft can be activated while immobilized so i don’t know what you’re talking about.

You probably have a chart of what traits/weapons/utilities people do not use. There is a good reason they do not as well.

Bad logic is bad. Just because something is underused does not mean it is underpowered.
Perfect example are d/d eles. At launch, d/d eles were very rare in sPVP since few people knew how to make it work. Turns out that once players figured out the class mechanics, the “underused” setup/class was actually too strong and is now getting balanced.
The same thing is also true of 100nades engies, and now HGH. The builds were available since launch but the community hadn’t figured them out yet so they weren’t popular.
A small number of people were ahead of the curve and figured these things out early.. then posted videos.. then they became FOTM.
I know of at least two overpowered s/tPVP builds that Anet is unknowingly buffing in the coming patch. They are OP right now and will be even more so in the next patch. I wonder how long it will be before one of these “underused” builds gets posted on the forums and becomes FOTM. I give it about a week, maybe two. Players will be demanding nerfs to previously underused skills

I’m guessing you stood in engineer’s grenade kit fifth skill for far too long, understandable because it doesn’t have a red circle like other enemy aoe’s. And probably died from retaliation from guardian.
It’s different in MOBA’s because you can just farm all game and 1v5 the whole enemy team in the end.
Engis are close to eles in strength right now but their fix is much simpler in my opinion, just reduce hgh stacks duration and then re-evaluate their strength. Honestly I’m surprised that there is minimal qq about engis considering how powerful they are at the moment.

Hell, ive been beaten by a warrior in 1v1 once, he was not your typical 100b warrior. Ive been beaten by Eles, I have won from eles, Ive been beaten by Engineers and I have won from them, ivebeen beaten by every class in the game once and I have won from every class in the game.
Its not the class you play against that decides who is better, it is the player.When a player push the class to the limit, the class is deciding about loosing or winning. On the same level a mesmer will never win against an ele, same with thief and guardian.
You sir, are too biased and illogical. Ofcourse a mesmer can win from an equally good ele. I have an ele friend who is much better than I am. But still, I manage to win often because he made a mistake and I took advantage of it.

Ehm no… 1vs1 with ele as mesmer, if he’s equally skilled, ends with a dead mesmer 90% of the times, once you shattered you have pretty much no dmg to send out (And it’s really easy to evade a shatter if you know just a little how shatter combo works, so pretty much everyone who plays at a decent level) and when it comes to healing and cond removal ele is just 10 times better than mesmers, if you’re a mesmer and you see an ele coming at side for 1vs1 all you have to do is call for backup while hoping that he’s worse than you..not mentioning that if you manage to fight him somehow (And problay your point would be already neutral cause you can’t keep it with someone spamming aoes all over the point) he can just rtl away and come back full hp while you have your healing still on cd and your point still neutral, and when backup finally arrives he can just rtl away going outnumber your team somewhere else in seconds…pretty lame uh?
How about this, mesmer does his illusionary leap and does blurred frenzy, forces out a dodge, then baits the ele with Cry of Frustration for another dodge. Then gets close, dodges and uses Mirror Images for an instant 8k or whatever damage. Sure, ele goes into water, fully heals but now you kill him with your staff because you have 7+ stacks of might + 300 condition damage from traits and those conditions can’t be simply removed because of their short duration and constant reapplying. And all of this is ignoring the stupid phantasms which also need to be dodged.
Rinse and repeat.

@jportell.2197 – Please show me a screenshot of a bunker Ele that firegrabs over 4k. And if they do, that’s all the damage in burst they will be able to do. If you can’t avoid the air auto attacks, you simply aren’t moving good enough.
Don’t need to… The churning earth combo hits for 6-7k… See the thing about bunker eles as opposed to other bunkers is they can use a berserkers amulet with some toughness runes and still be hard to kill… and before you say “OMG churning earth so easy to dodge” that is why there is lightning flash (instant teleport before channel ends) The healing on eles is so insane that they don’t need a clerics amulet or a valk for that matter they can heal to full without even touching their heal skills or utilities just swap to water dodge dodge cleansing wave and tada full health….. Firegrab is good if you can land it churning earth is a lot easier to land (if you know what you are doing)
So you can dodge churning earth alone but when lightning flash comes into play it becomes undodgeable!? What….?
As for healing – have you even played a berserker ele? No way you can heal to full health without investing into healing power. With 150 healing power (15 points in water) you get 1.45k (switch to water) + 1.6k (water trident) + 1.45k (dodgeroll) + 1.45k (cleansing wave) health using all your cooldowns. That’s 6k health out of 15k while being VERY squishy. I’m pretty sure you don’t know what you’re talking about.
ask them why is it okay to have so many uncontrollable PvE stuff in PvP? Necromancer minions, guardian spirit weapons, elementalist elementals, random rock dogs etc..
The leaderboards are VERY unstable at the moment, almost to the point of being worthless. I lost 1 game and dropped by almost 200 places. No matter the “quality” of the loss, this shouldn’t happen.
Yay, since i’m not on top 100 it’s useless for me now and for the next 2 months knowing ANet’s speed of implementing of things.
+ today i was matched against all 5 top 5 players as a pug while i’m not even on top 100. WTF?

Can someone write up some tips and tricks to teamfights (i’m talking 3+v3+)? Preferably for people without VOIP.
When it comes to 1v1 i usually know where i screwed up so i can improve (except against a BS proffesion like mesmer) but i’m kinda lost in a teamfight. So far my filter, in general, for targets is: (no particular order)
- When possible drop AoE where most people are (usually when resurrecting).
- Target the guy who does the most harm.
- Target the bunker last. (kinda includes ele’s)
- Target the one with the lowest health.
Kinda like that.

You fellas do realize this isnt DOTA or LoL. This is a different game with diffetent rules. Not everything will be discovered….look at Eles. They wrre considered the worst class…now look at em.
Balance isnt instantaneous but takes time. Quite frankly im sure those horrible classes are just fine but waiting for someone to discover a new build.

Meta changes more from devs than from players. Eles where the worst class, the devs buffed/fixed a lot of there abilities, and this caused there acesion in the meta fairly fast.
Most of the meta changes over the past few months are the result of adjustements from the devs, not player discoveries.
Buffed “Cone of cold”, fixed RTL, Magnetic grasp and that’s pretty much it as for “buffs and fixes”. Everything else had been a nerf.
What’s needed to be done depends on what strategy is agreed upon. And you can’t agree upon something unless you talk about it.

If at the beginning i see that no one is going for our close point i will do that and if i don’t then someone else will, If on legacy 3 of us are going far point and i see that there’s only 1 enemy i will switch to middle etc., we’re not dumb.
And what if other people have a different strategy in their head? Like some people prefer 1-3-1. Others like 4-1. How do you know what they’re thinking?
If they want to strategize (is that even a word?) then by all means, the point is – if everyone knows what is needed to be done we can play without saying anything.

No you will see him CLEANSING, any good ele will be running enough cantrips and cleansing to completely negate condition damage, I know this because I used to run it on my Ele. And that is the problem, water as it is gives an Ele too many ways of clearing conditions, with the 3 cantrip cookie cutter build, you have:
Cleanse when you switch to water
An on demand cleanse when you use a cantrip
Cleanse on dodge roll with Cleansing water
Cleanse from the Glyph heal OR Ether Renewal.Your essentially immune to CC (You have 3 very good stun breakers/mobility tools), you negate burst with the nature of this build, you can put out some pretty decent self healing, not too shabby DPS and you have mobility, it’s too much in one package and needs balance. This is coming from the perspective of someone who has played D/D Ele from beta and stopped playing my Ele about a month ago, it just feels to imbalanced.
Hopefully aNet will review and tone down the amount of cleansing Eles can do and that way condition damage could be a viable counter.
you do know that cantrips are on a long cooldown and can’t be reliably used as condition removals? as an engineer it’s pretty easy -> start damaging the elementalist, he enters water, apply 8second chill + prybar their faces and they are pretty much done.

just overload the ele with a deadly mix of all condis and u will see him dieing
