People suggesting to transfer to another NA team with greater EU population are going about it all wrong. Especially Maguuma, because most of the large NA guilds we have now have been day 1 Maguuma players. We’d all have to transfer. And most of us don’t want to transfer to play on the teams we’ve fought against. And we do not want to go up a tier because of the zergballs. And yes it is a skill issue, because you can’t even use your skills with the lag. It’s just lawnmower vs bigger lawnmower/arrow cart wins.
60 vs 60’s only purpose is to spam loot bags into your inventory. It isn’t pvp whatsoever. Even if it’s GvG, that’s just too many variables to make any discernible difference in who’s better. Hmm, lets turn the graphics down until the game is abysmal to look at in order to maximize performance. T3 is horrible at times because of this issue. I imagine top tier 1 players are throwing money into their computer (upgrades) to make the game enjoyable.
40-60 man zerg vs 10 in daycapping just makes people not play WvW. That’s always the case. The system doesn’t make any sense at all. At least in WoW they gave you buffs when you were outmanned badly. You could take on 20 people because you’d have so much defense. Also, none of their games had situations where one team had an excess of 30.
Hey, lets recruit all the EU to one NA team in the bracket, and none to the other. Guess whose going to play during EU time? Congrats on PVD. It’s so stupid. And then the forums get spammed with screenshots of owning the map when there was no one on. Single-sided match.
Feed people badges, or go do pve junk/logout? Tough choice. Game owns.

I’ll be 1v3ing south of windmill in the mean time.
Sol must be the Bunzy of Kaineng.
I imagine myself as a dragon. Slowly, I wrench my spirit from my body. I then linger above myself for a moment… and then I fly. I fly out of my house, out of my neighborhood, into? the night sky. Away from the depressive tedium of everyday life, away from school, and mind-numbingly pointless things like video games… I just fly.
How does Maguuma have so many people?
We have no control over Yak’s Bend players transferring here.
Can’t wait for the +1 wxp per kill, -1 damage from deer infusions.
Add protection for people on oil/cannons. Make cannons shoot faster at 5th point in mastery.
Fortify gates.
Golem mastery 1 Increased health, 2 Increased movement speed, 3 Gain ability: sprint (every 30s, for 3s), 4 Immune to movement impairment.
Repair blueprint siege.
The biggest game changer right now is still night-capping. Playing when the other team is extremely low in numbers to clear the map. The only way I can think to reduce this would be if a home server’s map is the one that’s out-manned, they should let far less enemies to queue on the map until they lose out-manned.
The grub and tree spirit do not make any sense in a pvp environment. Have them roam the entire map and be aggro. Also, buff the chests on them to always have at least 10 badges. And make the chest a daily reward like the puzzles.
Green keep in Eternal Battlegrounds never shows how much supply is in the depot.
And half the time none of the Siege Masters work anywhere.
I’d like to see lava font break out into smaller lava fonts if it hits something.
In case you don’t know what I’m talking about here, and think glass cannon staff is a terrible idea, I’m talking about people who don’t know how much a meteor shower can do.
I play every weapon set every week. I usually max out around a 3200 crit, unless I put in work every time and get those 5k-12k crits. They still exist, and not just with s/d in spvp. You have more survivability with staff than any other weapon set because it’s played at the back/middle line. You get 3 dodges. With certain specs and skills you can get 3 different condition clears, and 4 separate heals.
D/D is boring. The damage is horrible for the amount of work involved. It’s bad in pve and pve. If you’ve never played it and wonder why you die all the time, then D/D seems like a godsend. If you’ve played it to death, and know about the other weapon capabilities we have, you shun it away.
Especially one for damage. One that isn’t bunker.
I play 20/30/0/0/20 in full (pvt back, 1 knight’s trinket still).
I have under 12k hp at the start of a WvW week.
I use heal on crit + prec food, and power sharpening stones.
What do I want to see that I don’t already know?
I want to see what people use to min-max their glass burst in fire mostly.
My current staff has accuracy on it, but I feel that bloodlust would have a higher burst potential. I want the absolute highest possible damage so none of those downed players get up. This is what I love about staff. You are like a toned down glass thief that can aoe kill instead of single target. When you get downed, you rally almost always.
I was thinking I could do 30 fire instead and get might on cantrips and spam all three cantrips at the start (no mist form, obviously. I don’t use it anyway). I did this with a sceptre/dagger build before and was downing veteran sentries in under 10s.
I toyed with glyph of storms, but the 900 range is meh, especially when you think of other useful things you can put in that utility slot. I run Arm of Earth, Signet of Air, and LF. Sometimes swapping SoA for Arcane Blast (mostly as a heal). I don’t find it worthwhile to use AB as a means to stack might or apply swiftness and have cds being down as a result. But if I was using cantrips and AB standing over a lava font, that might be the best move pre-meteor pwnage.
So, glassies, what are your secrets? Message me if you don’t want everyone else to know. bahahah
Runes: 6x eagle.
Sigil: Perception.
I just bought one 10% crit damage food to test it out. (they are 8s+ each).
I couldn’t leave either. I joined wvw and hit f12 to reload myself where I went in from.
Also I won a match and was looking at the matchup scoreboard and forgot about the chest. I go to open it and the match restarts before I got whatever was inside.
This truly is crap.
Edit. And now I notice I didn’t get the achievement for winning either. lmao

It feels like this: 80% chance to escape a zerg plummeted down to 20% chance.
Meanwhile a warrior is running at mach 10 and stopping to /laugh.
And become the bear charge = godmode distance.
The only time I use mist form now is vs huge zergs (30+ vs 10 or less unorganized playeres), or to get past siegerazor.
I use signet of air in its place.
Kaineng is the punchline for every bracket.
Sounds like someone needs a bowel movement.
All these servers trying to sponge off the Maguuma swag.
And spreading illusions of grandeur.
You live vicariously through us!
So stop frontin’.
Audi 5000.
For Pete’s sake, don’t change dragon tooth. I know they’ll ruin it if they try. (ie. vs Siege.)
My biggest peeve is the switching of targets with channeled auto-casts in air and earth. You have to have air 2 or 3 up to switch targets most of the time, or it will take 3s+ to change target. I’ve stated this several times elsewhere.
The ramp-up in Air 1 is also tedium. Sure, it’s cool to hit something 8 times (or whatever) like a ranger, but the minim hit is so far away in damage from the final hit. I specifically have a zerkers set for Air 1 S/D, (and Staff), and would enjoy faster animations on both weapons, with less hits in S/D, but a scale up from lowest hit. I don’t want to lose big crits for any reason. It’s expensive to make a set that bursts hard. And you usually have to trade all of your survivability to do it. You are banking on rallying to keep your full uptime from mass-aoe crits.
I know full well that they scaled down the number of targets in beam tech with Air 1 with the last patch, as I can barely hit 2 things close together now.
Female one portrait.
Might I make a suggestion?
Only a WvW player will cry “OP” several times in the “Arrow Carts [Merged]” thread, then hold off on spending points until they can afford Arrow Cart Mastery ranks, at which point they start to downplay others crying “OP” in that same thread.
I hate when people have to resort to hacks. Can’t beat arrow carts so lets just hack. You already outnumbered us in our own BL, yet loosing to Ac’s would have been to much for your egos?
That gate is bugged, as others have pointed it. I did it once by using magnetic grasp on someone just as they entered the portal. I was just as confused about it as the defenders. I went up the stairs and jumped back outside because I don’t take advantage of bugs. This was months ago. Nice to see they haven’t fixed it yet. GJ!

Add additional maps when the WvW pop exceeds a certain limit.
A wild bonus map has appeared.
Like an overflow map for people waiting in queue.
I’m crying in publicity.
So there’s a Yaks Bend gs/lb warrior roaming on Mag tonight and I’m running D/D bunker spec, so it’s hard to get near him. I just leave instead of fight him forever, so he invites me to group. I decline. He then messages me with an alt on Maguuma, makes accusations about me trolling (meanwhile he’s playing on Maguuma and Yaks Bend) the forum all the time and he’s glad to have beat me (neither of which are true), then logs that character off. I see him again and save a guildy from him, and then he runs, does a laugh emote because I can’t burst him down (because I’m bunker), and then it’s my turn to run when I’m waiting for cds, and he stops and spams laugh emotes forever.
Stay classy Yaks Bend.
Why do people worry so much about what someone tells them to do in WvW?
Do whatever you enjoy doing in WvW, express your opinions there.
What did you expect to happen by posting here?
If someone rages about you killing someone, just put them on ignore, or screenshot it and add it to a “collage of nerd ragers” and post that on the forum. Far more interesting.
Playing the new FOTM spec:
Our guild likes to strategize for what we need for open field. But now it feels like we need to strategize for huge kiting circles to escape that one troll that drops an arrow cart at the back. I don’t think the devs thought about that part. We already play vs greater number of openents, but 1 cart is equivalent to 20 additional players with even more range. It’s really stupid.
If you use pvt gear then face-tanking in pve shouldn’t be a problem. S/D offers huge burst, decent mobility and and defense for solo play, and with the sceptre in groups, you can just hang back in air 1, 2, 3 forever. I feel s/d and s/f haven’t been given enough credit for pve and wvw. So I keep posting about them, because I’m having a blast using them.
The sheer amount of head scratching about the recent nerf to ELEs on this forum is mind blowing. You guys really are in denial.
The video is pre-patch, though. Not every ele in wvw wants to play 19k+hp specs, either.
I’d suggest people who still play D/D try doing 20 air for reduced time on air cooldowns (this turns a hit with RTL into a 16s cd on the next one), (you also shock people with a ranged bolt when swapping to air, keeping them in combat), and 20 water. You will still need evasive arcana for dodge healing/cleanse. Try heal on crit food aswell. If you’re a chef you can make 3 mixed berry pies at a time.
Sceptre and Staff both need faster animations, at the very least.
Agreed. Staff feels extremely slow with auto-attack, and when I use a sceptre it takes roughly 5s to switch targets on autos. Also, beam tech on sceptre seems to have been nerfed without mention in patch.
Arrow Carts are to be used by Elementalists now that Elementalists can’t do anything.
In all seriousness though, you shouldn’t get the increased damage in arrow carts from just the patch. You should have to train to get it to that amount.
Normal Arrow Cart with 0 points in mastery
Pre-patch avg. damage: 600
Post-patch avg. damage: 1k-1200.
Carts that go the same distance as a cata is OP, too.
Carts, the cheapest piece of siege (along with the ram), have better mastery bonuses than all of the others. And you thought ballistas were OP (they are, too.)
Make them scale to player power. These siege are way out of sync with pvp.
I’ve never used a single piece of clerics.
You said you can use Ether Renewal and then enter Mist Form for the same effect as before, but it cancels the condition removal process and the heal upon entering Mist Form.
PVE living story.
WvW is making less sense every patch.
Thieves were nerfed?
I used to get zerged because I was a commander, but now it’s because I can’t heal or get away from anything.
All I see in WvW now: Mesmer, thief, guardian.
Everything else occupies roughly 10% of the population.
Edit. Also, do not carry over pvp stuff into pve. Because pve is all we can do now if we still want to play this trash.
(edited by katniss.6735)
If you’re buying upgrades, you’re doing it wrong. Just farm that wexp, and save your money. wexp wexp wexp wexp wexp zergball wexp wexp wexp wexp wexp skill lag wexp wexp wexp wexp.
Or: Stare at a gate. WHEEEeeeeEEEEeEEe!
I don’t consider this a big deal. The only times I was tempted to run all alts through the puzzle was when someone was porting to the end in EB. And now that I’m getting badges far more frequently, and siege off of npcs every single day, I usually don’t even go in any of the puzzles.
People still complaining about eles non-stop I see. None of those changes will effect me. I don’t play D/D near as much as I used to. Thankfully, with multiple sets of gear, and beam tech, S/D/F, and staff are fun imo. I just don’t like how it’s always a nerf for eles and nothing else. We get no new fun things, just things that make it easier for people to kill us. Still, fighting a bunker ele (clerics), when I’m full glass, and they take almost no damage, is really OP. An ele doesn’t need to use RTL to escape 1v1. Only to escape a zerg. Because an ele doesn’t need to run away any other time if he’s playing D/D with the proper gear. Target rabbit, RTL. Repeat. lawl
Ranger pets and UI need buffs.
Thieves stealth is still OP. The reveal from a pistol hitting you from stealth still takes at least 5s. You can see the bullets hitting you from empty space and not be able to tab to the source. Clearly OP. Or un-clearly, since you can’t see them.
This week I’ll be leveling up my main in ranks since I had been playing alts. I’m still only a Squire on main (ele).
Considering how many bags of loot I got on opening night, it’s going to be a breeze. But, who knows? I play in oceanic slot as a NA player, so it might bomb.
I can’t kill this player, but if I can just kill the Skale that was aoe’d down to 10% during the fight, I might have a chance….
CHEESE
Siege ignores the 5 player aoe cap. Just saying. More siege = more winning. Also, ballistas are stupid OP with skill 4. I 1 shot every npc in a camp with it at once. Shoot a player and they are fully dead. No down state at all. No chance to do anything. They could be standing inside the ballista at the time. No range is too close.
If you have ranged AoEs going, there’s probably only a 1-3s gap on downstate where the player doesn’t have new conditions on them yet. Where a thief/necro might open with conditions, an ele would finish with them. Lava font lands on down players every time I see them.
“20v60, you’re going to get rolled no matter what.”
That’s not true at all. You can win the rally game in open field. Utilize group stealth, flanking, have heavy AoEs, and co-ordinated CC. Blast those heals.
I’d rather see underwater combat balances take priority over downstate issues. I usually flat out kill people instead of try to spike them. Even from atop a tower wall. An ele can kill a downed player with a staff faster than they can using any piece of siege other than a ballista. And sometimes faster than a ballista. Drop static field before his buddies can try to get near him, fire off a knockback on anyone you missed, and spam fire with stability up. If you fail, dodge back, drop water 5 and blast it. If rooted, earth aura, teleport.
Treb cond. dam. cowing, + ballistas, and leg. spec. warriors on carts is the best siege defense you can get right now vs 60+ zergs. Block the entirety of incoming treb-fire. Failing to zerg bust for keep defense is usually the lack of most of the above setup.
Now that I’m way off topic, I’ll add that reflect damaging siege for 3k+ per tick of an arrowcart on the cart and not the user is annoying and stupid. Why cap quaggans when you can create lightning, with 10x the damage, yourself?
Let me put 3 pieces of siege and a mystic stone into the forge for a random superior piece! Actually, I bet this is very costly to do. lol But if you had the chance of getting an Omega out of it, it’d be worth doing. Also, you get more people buying those stones, which translates to more bling for Anette.
Remove upstate imo.
Spoil it. We won’t tell anyone.
