2 of 7 placement games have had afk players on my team.

IDK what else to say. That seems like an easy thing to implement.
Edit: It already exists in stuff like dragonball arena. Use that same code.

I feel ele non-support would really benefit from proccing other things off of a blind. But not from a sigil. Like redo the Elementalist runes. Chill duration isn’t really practical.

So um, * cough *, removing erroneous rune choices next?
There are tons of runes that people really shouldn’t be using in competitive play. Lots of garbage that only a new player would use pretty much.

As for sigils, leech is pretty much my fav. That hits hard and heals decent. Everyone use it!

They should add a scribe station in WvW.

The people who still run large guild groups gave up on Mag because they claim there’s no fights. So now that there’s no coverage, there’s plenty of fights, but no one wants to play anymore. So we aren’t.

If you want to continue to fight mag players, let us hold the keep waypoint in ebg. Or you can keep ppting because that’s exciting.

I’m not a huge fan of spvp, but that will be my main focus in gw2 in a couple days when the new season starts. That, and other games. Game modes are stale. Everyone knows it. I don’t really feel like wasting gold to transfer yet (despite a lot of people I know already being on another server).

A lot of people thought we’d get sword at the first expansion. Sword would add a lot better condi applications. We don’t fit that role properly as is. Fire sword, lightning sword. They have a nice ring to them.

Any mix with 500 healing power in it is good. Condi and condi duration isn’t worth going that route. Cele is very balanced, but not newbie friendly to make. I’d say knights with some magi or something. Leeching/blood sigil for d/f, or accuracy/force for staff. I use assassin stats on weapons often for pve. Anti-condi/vit food is good almost everywhere.

Torch has strong thematic connection, but only with Fire attunement. So I don’t know.

That being said, I find both Sword and GS rather cheesy for a spellcaster. Come on… It’s bad enough mesmers and necromancers swing oversized pieces of metal for no good reason.

I agree, although GS added some QoL movement additions to the necro.
Thief shortbow spam would make more sense to have a small weapon like that on all three of the casters. I would personally like to not have to see my weapon at all and just cast fast spells from my hands. But that would mean a new kind of weapon altogether.

Mobility of classes as a whole needs a major overhaul.
You should not be able to move 900 yards more than once at a time with the same skill.
The whole roamer scene is a joke because of mobility, and [fight]resetting being too easy for some.

They could tie something into scribe via wvw ranks. Like schematics use 50% less flax fibers.

I think if you’re using dagger as an offhand as an ele in this day and age you’ll have more of a problem than this issue.

Warrior sustain vs all damage types is over-tuned. I will agree to this point.

This is good for people like me who don’t play other classes. I will prob never get the pvp backpack. Pssh. Fractal looks better anyway.

I dagger/focus frontline. I only run powerful auras if I know there’s other frontline with me, otherwise I can’t afford the loss of the extra cleanses. I never use diamond skin. If you’re on mag you can watch how I do it. I can go into the entire blob solo and get out clean, even with massive pressure and focus fire. This wastes enemy cds easily on 1 target, then my team moves in after I pull out while I heal up. Minstrel/nomads, gnashblade food and gg.

The play-style is that earth is your go-to escape every time. Without harmonious conduit, earth overload is your only stab, so you have to be weary of pulls, necro cc focus (chill or stab removal). Bad druids will knock you back helping your escape. lol – Bait focus on yourself as long as you want before lightning flashing out. Use fire burning speed for more range with burning shield at the same time for your protection/regen/vigor. And dodge all the ranged crap coming after you. You want to split the enemy up, but not be more than 1200 yards left or right of your zerg or you can easily get bogged down by immobs and cc.

I prefer eye of the storm to flash freeze because then you have 2 instant cleanses, and an aoe stun break for people that are stuck, which is normal these days with traps everywhere. Flash freeze will give more damage reduction, but it’s not instant like it needs to be imo. If you’re going to use staff, I feel that cantrips or arcane shield is far better for survivability.

There’s nothing better than trooper runes for tempest. I truly believe my setup is the best possible for ele in the current meta. You get angry whispers from the enemy critiquing you for not doing any damage, but that is what your goal is here. To support/tank. Srsly, only put a staff on if you have a bunch of leapin lizard front line that you can easily float between back and frontline without taking too much condi pressure.

The most dangerous thing is a skilled mesmer, or multiple mesmers, constant pressure from a burst thief, or being isolated in the middle of nowhere.

Blackline staff damage is fire/air/tempest, or air/water/tempest. I don’t understand why you would do earth/water/tempest (@frowny) with maurader staff. That is the slowest damage ever. Maurader is gr8, though. Armor of earth/Arc Shield or Eye of the Storm for places like SM lord room fight. Fire/Air + fire overload is insane damage. The main purpose of AE/ArcSh is you can always have meteor shower go off uninterrupted. Spec: all top row fire, down/down/up air, top/bottom/bottom tempest. Your purpose is damage, and keeping the enemy in it with static and chills. Small water for yourself, and large for regroups or engages (as in when there’s 90 bajillion circles the front row is moving through that need cleansed – if you’re too far away, it will be in the wrong place to open with).

+1 for flying reindeer (and editing, and mass amounts of locations).

Im in platinum and today i had a fresh air core ele and a signet warrior on my team. I was Duo que with another at a far lower level. I lost 20 rating but at least we fought all the way threw.

No. It’s awful. Druid is a way better healer that does damage. I’m playing my necro now.

All bg does is create queues for Mag (via alt accounts), and spam build ballistas to waste supply in SM while they still lose every week with 50% of Mag’s total score.

The only reason I brought up S/D was because this is a D/D thread. I haven’t put a dagger in offhand since near the beginning of HoT when I tried to ride the lightning across a gap, but the change they made to that skill where you go downward instead of straight killed me. lol

The first 2 on OP’s list seem reasonable. However there is a talent there for stab on overload, but most don’t take that because they lose regen and vigor (potentially for allies if you’re nice). There are a lot of changes for eles in the past that don’t make any sense anymore because of the things that made them overpowered pre-hot aren’t even an issue anymore. I always use stone heart now. I hate current diamond skin. I don’t consider diamond skin good sustain at all with the amulets we have now.

As for arcane skills, the choices we have to use are all bad now outside of auto arcane shield at low health. The fact that there’s a talent to proc condis on arcane skill use doesn’t make much of any sense considering we aren’t a condi class and they do practically no damage when applied. I’d rather they did a guaranteed blind or lightning strike to align with burst builds.

Talents aren’t really setup for D/D to do enough damage and sustain unfortunately.

S/D might be fun to play with (in season 5) because offhand dagger works better with that. You can have your blinds, strong autos, mobility, a knockback that is easier to land than the one from focus. I wouldn’t really try it if your team has no group healing though. So many classes are hard to burst outside of other eles lol. So many other classes have stealth and you could get bursted out of nowhere. I’m thinking either F/A/Ar, or A/Ar/T specs. Both as fresh air. I really hope that scepter feels strong so I can actually enjoy it in ranked.

Fire elemental works really good for point aoe. I use that sometimes instead of rebound as a support. Otherwise I use rebound for a reflect in earth, or regen water that procs a cleanse.

Idk if this was mentioned yet, but AP (achievement points) related backpieces as gliders. Especially the pinnacle skins because they look awesome. Would inspire me to grind APs again.

I agree with this. The glider should have a checkbox toggle like how you can hide armor pieces. I think I’ve done all but 2 of the jps, but doing them again after HoT is annoying.
