1. Remove Arrowcarts (or at least get them out of open fields – L2P people)
2. Population change where people can not continuosly log in if another team only has 5 players on.
3. Old borderlands back without the jumping puzzle and useless dredge etc to farm.
4. Massive cost reduction on scribe.
5. Add side events, or more pvp-esque flare to things like sentry points. Brainstorm something.

It was still during the countdown where it ports you back to the start area. It wouldn’t let me even view offhand weapons as a possible choice. I don’t know why you’re arguing this as being okay, because playing with no offhand is not viable and worth a debuff.

After that debuff went away I won 9 games in a row, including the first one in ruby. I’m not a kitteny player, I had a kitteny thing happen to me for the first time ever. Kthxbai

Not being able to put something in your offhand to actually play the game properly is stupid.

I’m super casual. I played, I think, 5 team (3 and 4 players) games. Lost one of those. I’m saph 5 right now from soloq and I’ve probably only lost like 5 games total. I don’t know what that rate is. I only play ele. I played staff one game and won that just barely because no one was holding points so I had to face tank necro/thief. Longest queue time was probably 5m. I’m on NA. Not being able to use celestial amulet this season had no effect. In fact it’s easier now with clerics on lmao.

I only play the top spec and I never swap. I usually win every single game. I’m pretty much the best player right now. Confirmed.

This game is dumb as hell.

I just alt f4’d out of the game because it wouldn’t let me put my offhand on before the countdown ended.

Thanks for making this a thing. Screwed entire team. If I get the debuff I don’t even care. This is just plain kittened. My goal was to fake out the opposite team by running around with staff on first. I barely even play this game anymore, let alone spvp.

This is the worst video I’ve ever seen.

If you’re not earth/water/tempest auramancer from Metabattle’s spec, you’re going to get anihilated in rated. And that’s why elementalist isn’t fun anymore. Sure it’s funny to laugh at overpowered reapers struggle to kill you, but you are still the weakest, most targeted squish in the game right now. You are not even the best healer with a 100% support spec. A druid with a berserker amulet on is a better healer, and that’s a fact.

Which saddist dev made yet another ride the lightning nerf?

You can no longer activate ride the lightning after your jump.
Good God. This class just gets worses and worse.

Does anyone know what roaming means? Do you want elementalists to be able to roam and enjoy the game still? Because it sure as hell doesn’t feel like it. I’m not just talking about ride the lightning of course. Literally the only time I put dagger in my offhand is when I want to breach a gap.

I pretty much hate this game now.

This guy put a lot of time into his puzzles and showing them to others. They are fun to do, and explore many places in guild halls otherwise unaccessable. I hope that anet happens uppon this thread, and others take active interests because they will be missing out as explorers, tomb raiders, and Indiana Jones’ experiences otherwise.

I got too tired yesterday to do his (Gudradain’s) “cavernous” puzzle. I will have to go back there. I have not been up that way before.

Nice, Gudradain. I’m watching the first video atm. You went a different way (than the path I plotted). Yours is a lot riskier than the one I made. I made mine as user friendly as possible so people didn’t get discouraged.

Balloon puzzle was awesome, too! Your guild has obviously heavily invested in scribe materials. We used a lot of the cheap free things from the vendor, like pumpkins, snow, and now lanterns.

It’s supposed to challenge you to get things done. That was probably the leading method they were going for. It’s satisfying finally getting each thing. The only zone I found annoying was Tangled Depths, because it was too hard to find out where each group of people were at, even while grouped with them, if you were on another part/level of the map.

What exactly is annoying? Are you just impatient in nature?

I don’t get all these HoT-specific qualms. HoT made the game better. It was fun getting everything done. Raids, and fractal journey are fun. WvW is pretty bad now, but pips in spvp added to the game. Flying in Tyria makes getting world completion more fun.

It’s a little died down now that people have sperged through a lot of the content already. I’d like to see more player vs players stuff, and guild halls worked on more than anything else. More bosses in the raid would be cool, too.

So, no. I don’t hate the game. At all.

I expect all dragons to be defeated by large trees.

I would like to be able to make a slide from the highest reaches of the guild.
It would be cool to use those row boats, too.
Wandering npcs would be cool, and other things.

Does your guild hall have a fun jumping puzzle like mine does? (Stretching from 0 to over 22k feet above entrance npcs!)

I have screenshots, but didn’t bother to record it. It took about 2 mins or so to fly all the way to the bottom while trying to show all the jumps, but I don’t want to show where to go for people who haven’t attempted it yet. I used the new lanterns as a hint on direction in some places. Total number of materials is probably around 400.

Before patch you were pretty much forced into the role of tank/support.

Now, it seems like they want us to use air, but the best application of damage with air is with a scepter. But you can’t make a good damage spec at all in spvp. S/D was amazing at release. You could get away with zerker amulet then. You can’t even do S/F now because of the constant condis and cc’s from everyone. It’s literally impossible to enjoy a glass cannon as ele anymore because literally every other class can do a better job of it.

WvW isn’t near as bad, but it’s still pretty horrible vs a lot of things (as a solo roamer). I barely ever see any Ele videos on youtube anymore. It’s just not fun anymore.

PVE/Raid eles are fine.

Does anyone really enjoy playing with monk runes and water/earth/tempest or whatever? lol

Basically playing other games for pvp because I don’t care about playing another class at all. I really don’t get anet when it comes to this class and I’m sure any real ele fan would agree with this.

Lol I just read the next note about them removing celestial amulet.
I guess paladin or mender. Will have to test healing with 0 healing power via regen and heal skill. Won’t need ferocity in amulet with the fresh air change. But it definitely isn’t as bursty as they claimed with the loss of celestial amulet. However, having a much larger power base will probably give that same feeling. I am too lazy (dumb) to math.

Do damage again (air tree), and stop being a gimmick defender.

Losing 1s on every aura is kind of unnecessary imo. Even when you spam 5 shouts, + overload air, and shocking aura, protection wears off rather quickly, unless you’re in that 1% of eles that has boon duration in your spec. Only swiftness, regen (if traited), and fury are left. And then only swiftness and fury if you have air in your spec, which you probably will have after patch. Also vigor.

I think I will play air/arcane/tempest after patch. With rune of the soldier, you don’t even need diamond skin. I’ll just dodge everywhere and negate half of the aura nerf with increased boon duration.

The nerf to alacrity is really what will help spvp overall I believe.

Ok, under your left palm on most badly made keyboards is the ALT key.

Many times lately I have palmed over the ALT key while using my f4 skill and VIOLA, game over.

Anet is the issue, their logic about keyboard layout and use is abysmal

If they want people not to seemingly purposefully abuse alt-f4, they should change it immediately to a combination NOT in the rotation of a skill use.

ALT-F4 should never have been used to “end the game” in the first place._*

You replied to a 4 month old thread to say that? “Alt f4” closes every program on your pc. It’s not controlled by anet. If you don’t want it to do that in-game, re-map it yourself. I personally don’t use alt as a modifier. And I don’t use the fuction keys either. My ele attunements are 1234. My g-15 keyboard also lets me disable the left windows key easily.

If transfering were free, I’d bet there would only be about 6-9 servers. This game just screams “transfer!” if you’re in a tier below 2 and playing WvW. There’s crap all to do. It’s extremely boring to the point everyone is just gone pveing, or elsewhere. Even EotM is horrible; where if you’re one colour, your team has 10% (at best) playerbase of the other team(s). It shouldn’t cost more money/gold to get out of the boring server you’re currently on. I’d rather just pve or play another game entirely (favoring the later, as pve is also stagnant now).

I’m trying to do a constructive thread here. It’s so unlike me.

PVE
Best: Breakbar. This is awesome. This also applies to every game mode, which makes it even more awesome. Hands down the best addition to the expansion.
Worst: Limitations on gliding. I’m sure there’s dozens of threads where people want to glide in Tyria and the new boarderlands in WvW.

Raids
Best: The fact that raids are a thing. LoL. New challenges are fun. My guildies love that this is a challenge that the entirety of the game has to get better at right now. Although, at this point, a lot have been clearing the raid on a regular basis.
Worst: N/A There is no worst from my perspective. Just waiting on more things added onto the raid, even though I have only cleared the first boss.

WvW
Best: Breakbars on champs make defending a little bit easier.
Worst: Traversing new boardlands takes too long for both enemy and defender (the waypoints often never work on side keeps.) I really think that we should be able to at least glide from certain cliffs. It would allow for knocking people out of the air, which is great!

Spvp (aka esports)
Best: Leagues. This is another new element to competitive play with the pip system.
Worst: Parties vs solos Getting paired with full pug vs a guild group is kind of B.S.

All good changes, especially the rally one.
But I feel like the boarderlands still take too long to progress across, which is a shame due to their beauty and design.
Also, please fix the glitchy looking walls that show up as both upgraded and un-upgraded every time you move near them.

That’s a hacker guild.

Scribe is too horrible to get those tactivators running.

Auras don’t work at all since the last patch.

Please change “World vs World” to “Synthesizers and Guild Commendations”.

I meant PVE raids. And arcana is for increased boon duration, and arcana blast finisher.

Looking for feedback on this build I’ll call: Buff Machine

This is meant as support will with above average self-sustain. There are only 2 cleanses: Dodge in water, and elite every 75s. The rest of your sustain is from near perma regen and protection, with stability galore.

I don’t know if having more boon duration above 100% has any effect or not, but this setup also does decent damage with the crit and power. The healing power reaches 1337 after stacks, which is very good. You have a guaranteed AoE heal when you swap to earth.

I haven’t really been reading the forums about builds and such, but I’ve been playing the kitten out of Phantaram’s sPVP tempest build with d/f and it owns for every game mode. I use stone heart over diamond skin outside of spvp. It is extremely fun having near perma swiftness with a focus on, plus huge AoE nukes. I use that with zerker staff in Fractals. It works perfectly (personal level 53).

Guild Halls aren’t only accessible to HoT players.

It’s an extra stab+regen+vigor cantrip, that’s it. The knockback is terrible. Don’t even try to use this without the cantrip cleanse setup. Perhaps it’s an extra blind, but good luck hitting anything.

I believe that guild halls should have their own forums so we can contribute our ideas toward them easier.

That extra waypoint in the pvp arena: Great addition.

I would like to see the crafting of scribe items made a lot easier, as I’ve been already dumping materials like crazy left and right to get everything going constantly. And it has all been constant. Our guild is level 20 as of today. cheers

It would also be cool if we could queue for spvp from our guild hall’s pvp area, without having to go to the mists.

I use clerics with staff because the whispers I get are gold.

I like arc wave cause it’s useful in all game types.

Dragonhunter has a dragon icon. Tempest should have a trashcan icon.

Ele’s can never move a step forward without going two steps backward. In other words, we cannot get buffs and call it a day. Something has to be nerfed, and usually it starts with a nerf, before picking some random thing to buff, that barely makes any difference at all.

I would like to see all autos display like Air 1, a channel that activates immediately.
A trait to increase range on at least the autos would be handy, or access to quickness in cast times, not just movement.
Condi durations are way too short. When condi damage is so powerful these days, how do we become a condi ele?

@OP I’d drop the crit chance down to 30ish% for more vitality. The power and condi are really high in the spec, that increase on might stacking.
Signet heal with renewing stamina for WvW roaming is what I’d do. You could d/d with the build as well.

The people who tested it in beta, were you trying to solo roam with warhorn? Because I don’t think that’s the intent of the designers.

I barely even looked at tempest, so I’m indifferent. I play ele 99% of my time invested in this game since beta, and don’t plan on changing that in expansion.

It pretty much took forever to get burn to do anything for ele when it should have been the norm from the get-go.
Also, is it okay that guardian burn can do as much damage as it does?

I’d also like to add that I am randomly seeing enemy locations on the mini-map after way-pointing to a keep. This started since yesterday.

This is happening on Maguuma right now. Random people stop seeing the siege like cannons, oil, mortar, then the skillbar disappears, then you are instantly killed while standing still. Nothing in log. Ballistas nowhere to hit you from. It’s as though someone is going into your character and executing a death command. (In LPC this was the shrink command, followed by blick. It's all too familiar.)
