Imo Master Splinter is wasting his heals playing solos, that he could be boosting his team more with. I’d be using more gust, earth 5 immob’s in 1v1s keeping people off points. Unstead ground, and static keeping them getting back in. Probably would be 2e (rock steady), 2w, 3arc to keep the health up a lot easier.
Best part of this feed was blu’s coverage, as always.

I see dozens of people die/ get downed at jormag every single time I go there. Phase 2 especially. It has nothing to do with someone’s potential in pve as a whole.
Staff for max range with fiery greatsword melee range is ideal for Jormag.
S/d or s/f is really a nice change of pace for dungeons and champ farming.
D/d for best mobility, above average might-stacking, easy trash farming.
Staff you want at least 10 arcana, at least 10 water. Scepter you need 30 air for main dps which is your air 1 after the might stacking. S/D is slightly easier might stacking and more mobility via ride the lightning. S/F provides more defense, but can kill slower if you’re not spec’d full glass. I have to add that the new 6/6 strength runes will let you spec more defensively and still pump out the damage given that each piece of your gear has ferocity on it.
S/D is probably my favorite champ farming set due to it’s ease of use and transitioning. Can easily swap to d/d to run around between fights in open-world. Fiery greatsword is always going to be your elite because it’s either an extra-escape, travel-time reducer, and/or big deep crits from spamming 1, or channeling mobs against a wall/ in a line.
As for defense, you want to always have a cleanse available. I prefer to use cleansing fire with signet of restoration for my heal. You simply spam dps in air to heal back up. And use your blinds in air and earth to duck telegraphed incoming hits. Focus is nice for a 2nd cleanse that removes the need to go 20 water, 30 arcana, or ether renewal. It is really fun to use in pvp. It does so many things. I use signet of air (speed, blind, stun breaker) for mobility, or traveler runes. I always run lightning flash, so I swap signet of air for armor of earth before combat starts.
For huge fights like WvW or Living Story stuff, I would stick with staff or dd for the healing potential and ability to tag more things.

What is the point of this video? Most elementalists do this exact same thing with staff. I play staff in full zerkers exotic and do the same thing, barely ever dying, vs much larger blobs, and have constant streams of loot bags on the right side.
Do the blinds from scepter count as interrupts?
Stone Heart is terrible, just like Diamond Skin. Thieves still own you with stone heart on. Stone Heart doesn’t adhere to the increased buff duration from lingering elements and elemental attunement. There are no good weapons to sit in earth attunement with, except maybe s/f because at least the focus has buffs that linger on attunement change. Diamond Skin is way better, but still bad because it is a counter to openers only. You have to fight back up to top up hp all the time to make use of it. Specing 30 in Earth is crap unless you plan on playing burn duration or something like that, that probably doesn’t kill anyone at all. I hate this game.
As someone who basically just did spvp for the daily, I was having fun with str/battle celestial in classic bunker. Got 20% through t3 of 8 because I kept playing games until I got bored.
Necros are still annoying as ever. And stealth. Also we get hard focused if we’re ever alone.
Right now I’m running hydro/int on d/d. Haven’t been playing all that much. Switching specs and idling/looking at all the different things. Hoping to find insight on rune choices/sigils here from y’all.

I think if you just read my posts, instead of have a seizure about the skill mechanics, you’d see that it’s a cheesy skill that you guys get, even if it’s “bad” to use it.
This is what this thread has earned me:
- People on my server referring to dodging and moas whenever I happen to be trolling about something else.
- People in spvp moa-ing me doing the spvp daily thinking that it’s going to kill me in every situation. Sometimes it works because I’m laughing too much.

I think most of us in NA have too crappy of a computer to even witness what’s happening on the field. lol
If you can only see the name tag of your opponent, and it’s a gvg, then you can just throw skill out the window at that point, because you’re playing a guessing game. Culling & lag is an ever-increasing scourge.
I’d recently watched a Blu coverage video of a gvg, and you could barely see what was happening. He pointed out things I didn’t even realize were going on based on his extensive experience with pvp, and full knowledge of the classes.
Guilds are going 30> these days to be able to handle the over-population of blobs littering the field, and can you even say that’s pvp at that point? A lot of people are losing interest. A lot.
People assume I have infinite dodges or something.There’s no way to know ahead of time that a mesmer is running moa. Their body turning purple is a crap indication of when it is even being cast. I had no idea how to detect it at all until I looked at multiple youtube videos. If I cast any ranged attack you can see it as clear as day, and move out of the way. Moa is 1s, leaves no trailing animation, and if you were spamming escapes and didn’t hit the 5 after (in my case the 4 in air with staff to remove immob ended up being the 4 on moa) it landed on you, then get immob’d, it’s gg.
I don’t know how this skill even made it into pvp to begin with.
A lot of ignorant comments and trolling accusations. I get it, you don’t like elementalists, me, or anything that points out imbalances.

Well NA stays up 20 hours at a time, until SoS ddos’s their voice comms 5-6 times in a row in EU hours, making people just go to sleep, while they blob 80 mans at empty maps, and /cheering the whole time.
Wow. First ele video I’ve enjoyed watching in months. +1 Maybe I’ll invest in different gear now instead of just a million types of trinkets. With new games out/coming out I’ve been reluctant to bother changing anything. Still going to wait to see what patch finalizes for everything. My 2 celestial, 4 pvt is nothing to shake a stick at, but every piece really does need the crit damage on it to feel like you’re capable of roaming.
Rock solid, ether renewal, triple cantrips, tornado, about face+burning retreat, dodge in water, are all things I had in my spec to be able to easily kite away from 5 people. It’s not hard at all. People are arguing everything but the topic and it’s really just pathetic.
Moa lasts too long. And you should at least be able to use utilities in the form. It’s not some huge thing to ask. It’s 1 skill that you use once in a while to be a troll. Are you really afraid to have something nerfed?

People are responding to quotes that aren’t mine.
I had 5 people chasing me when I got moa’d, meaning dodge, 5, dodge, wasn’t an option. I got immob’d at the exact same time as the moa got on me.
I have everything in wvw wxp ranks maxed out, and no dungeon master/crap title here.
The problem lies with the duration of moa, combined with the complete lockout of all survivability skills. I did not “give up when moa’d”. You can stop trying to educate me on how to play, when there is no excuse for this skill to work the way it does. It’s cheesier than backstab, killshot, and perplexity runes.

I’ve concluded that the only spec the devs use, after reviewing all previous patch notes and twitch feeds, that this can be the one true spec, and setup, for complete domination in the field: It doesn’t get any better than this.

I’ve seen no good arguments made about why it should last 10s and be irremovable.
I do know about the 5 skill. That’s hilarious that that was even mentioned. And I definitely do not roam in zerkers. Full ascended 4 pvt/2 celestial, cav trinkets. Trav runes. All the wvw stacks. I can see that I will only get trolled from the mesmer community, but this skill clearly needs to be changed.
You say it can be blocked or evaded. There’s no way to tell when someone is casting it. Especially if you’re already running away from them.
I’m a staff ele, and my only option to win is through kiting, and moa takes that option away completely. Because mesmer follows it up with immob. There is no escape whatsoever. With 1822 toughness it’s impossible to live through the 10s timer.
What do you love about these complaints?

Some interesting replies. I’ll try that settler rune one. Looks fun. More my style than glyphs. I prefer bunker over burst. Always have. That’s why I hate all the d/d nerfs. Staff is still enjoyable to me. For now. In wvw I run 20/10/0/10/30 with staff and survive quite easily with triple cantrip.

Our condition damage is horrible in comparison.
Using the most possible bunker I can use. Trying all the rune combinations.
I don’t care if my damage is horrible, I just want to have a chance at being bunker, but I’m being loaded with condis and cc’d around like a pinball. Can’t use ether renewal without stab because it’s slow as all hell, and the enemy can see the cast.
We all know eles are the garbage class, and I’m not new to the class. I don’t play other classes at all, despite getting them to 80. The whole time I’m like “I can’t dodge. I can’t move. I can’t heal.” All the while watching people walk out of all my cc’s. I’ve used every amulet, rune set, and mostly always energy sigil. Every weapon set. Right now I’m practicing with 0/0/30/20/20 with staff in lieu of the upcoming patch.
I just whistle.

Don’t play an elementalist.
The lag is usually when there’s more than a queue (80+) on a map at the same time.
If all three teams are queued in EBG, then the lag lasts for hours. This lets you auto-attack, or not even that. You can barely move even with all settings at lowest, and nothing else open on your pc. There’s really no point even trying. Being unable to heal or use any defensive skills at all makes it horrible.
As a staff ele, I like being able to rally. But when 5 guardians get up from my meteor shower because of 1 person on our side going down, I don’t like that. The bunkers are hardest to kill, and stand the chance of surviving after rally the best.
Removing rally altogether I don’t agree with. Using a 1:1 ratio based on a percentage of damage you did to the target should be a factor. That seems most fair for everyone, should a change be made. This allows squishies the best chance to get up, as it should be. If I were to go down after casting a water field, I’d probably need to be rallied by a teammate. This also handles those uplevels that aren’t doing any damage and dying all the time. Maybe they’ll catch on and spec properly since they won’t be making so much free loot while dead.
They should let us apply town clothes as a skin to our pve/pvp/wvw clothes. I must look fancier/sillier.
1. Ask for siege donations. I would guess that golems, rams, and catas will be needed most of the time.
2. Every kind. But rams, catas, and acs are priority.
3. Ignore disrespectful people. Tag down if it’s your whole server raging. Explain what you’re doing before doing it and they will have no excuse if they didn’t follow instructions.
4. Guilds have buffs you can train in Art of War that can add a variety of useful buffs. A common one is +5 supply to camps.
5. Remove as much enemy siege as you can. Starve them of supply to repair.
6. If most of you are in voice comms it is, otherwise people will become easily confused.
7. Same as #3.
Lastly, I would suggest that you don’t constantly throw undergeared, upleveled, teammates at higher numbered opposition repeatedly. If you notice the same people dying all the time inquire about their gear/ spec. Have your guild mates lead by example.
Monk/water/trav rune combo will be 5% down from 15%, so “boon duration builds” aren’t much of a thing anymore. Perplexity however..
So stone heart is a grandmaster trait? When I first saw it I thought about using it with diamond skin. BLEH!

There’s an ele I fought this week in wvw that uses perplexity with chill and torment sigils, plus condi duration food. I don’t waste my time fighting him.
I use MSI afterburner. It’s free. I can’t seem to get it to save at a low file size, but when I open the video with windows movie maker, and save it to upload to youtube after, it’s a more reasonable size then.
I’m sorry, but your rotations are way off, and the first battle made me not want to watch anymore of the video. You are not procing might stacks, and weren’t using your projectile reflects at the right times. The guardian also bowed at one point to call the fight, to which you chased him until he was downed, staked, then jumped away like a proud princess.
Spamming all skills just because they’re up is not how you play this class. kthxbye
I get paranoid with confusion. Due to my high crit damage I can really burst myself down if I can’t get it off in time. Having 500+ healing power helps here. I don’t think 300 would cut it, and etheral renewal is just death without wasting a cd or using it just after updraft.

Keep foreigners out of NA.
