Would it be favorable if we could repair siege we purchased?

I can imagine a lot of abusive supply draining issues, but it would still be nice to be able to repair siege in a keep in the borderlands where the lightning breaks it easily. Or to repair a golem.

The joy of finally taking out an annoying treb would be the main reason it’d be a bad idea. But not completely out of question. WvW’s an expensive hobby.

Does sPVP damage really matter? Try using 30/30 in WvW. You’ll be naked in no time from all the deaths. The guy who mentioned thieves, 25k is less than what a thief does with less build-up involved. Especially vs glass cannons. Thieves are completely spoiled. Tired of hearing them defend the class, really.

I dare cd/ebay to 1v1. Heck even 2v1. They’re revelling in our depleted number matches. Our pve community backs out when we’re down in score, despite us giving them realm bonuses by never giving up. We do new things everyday. We all learn from each other. It’s hella fun, but zerg vs 1 guy is hilarious.

Two and a half pages of responses in the span of 24 hours. Yeesh. CD doesn’t credit anything we do as skillful, and Ebay is desperate to beat us to avoid a hat-trick. Then we have the people reading the server population and presuming that as the WvW population. LOL.

If you looked at the people in voice comm right now, that equals less than 0.01% of the server.

D/D is the easiest, but you should swap to scepter or staff in certain situations, and focus to absorb aoe in air. Staff is the hardest to survive using in PVP.

I’m sorry, but Maguuma is probably the best organized, best comradery server there is. We just lack a force during Euro/Asian prime-time. During US prime time we beat you just fine. I love my server. I am still allowed to express a distaste for the #s game.

Opening day in CD BL we had the out-manned buff for the first 15 mins. We held East keep longer than anything else was held on the map. We became severely out-manned and lost it. We had people shooting through the walls killing siege. Yeah, gg. We held it anyway. It wasn’t until later on in the night that we finally lost it. It had no wp in it, with both CD and EB attacking, but our guys still got in, rezzed keeper, wiped bridge siege, rebuilt our siege. No, I don’t want to leave the server.

They have made changes already that change the damage in WvW without nerfing PVE power. PVErs should not be getting worked up about this thread. I have an 80 thief, undergeared, that doesn’t do what other thieves do to my ele (yet) because I haven’t spent the coin/farmed the karma for exotics yet. Undergeared, wrong spec thieves aren’t OP. Not at all. 2288 armor is plenty high for light armor. It’s not glass cannon for it to be that high. I just need 1 more weapon and acessories. My backpiece is PVT.

I was only hit with the three abilities in the screenshot. There is no time at all to react to that. That’s why it is overpowered. I have 10 points in earth, not 30. Major trait in earth is Armor of Earth at 50% health. It didn’t proc due to rapid damage. The system is flawed to allow that much damage that rapidly through the gear I’m wearing. I’m not the only target thieves are demolishing people with. You can’t just make a class that gives no reaction time in pvp. That’s just bad design.

Why are you spamming to try and justify doing that much damage? I’m not glass cannon. I’m in full toughness/vitality gear. My runes have toughness on them. My weapon has toughness on it. Elementalist’s wear light armor. We do not get 2600 armor. No one should be hitting me in my gear for 7kx2 followed by 9k+ in the span of 3s. It’s flat out broken. Period.

LMAO! That’s a cool story. Only a staff wielding elementalist can crit past 6k in full glass cannon. If you can’t beat a staff wielding elementalist, there’s no hope for you. You have to hide in a crowd to make staff pvp work, as there’s no escape tactics at all. It’s neither fun nor comparable to thief roamers that spam CnD, Steal, Backstab.

Nobody should be 3 shotting a level 80 in WvW.
I have full PVT gear, and 1 PVT weapon. PVC% accessories.
He had the Steal at 1200 yards or something because he zerged toward me and killed me before I could get a single attack off. It looked like a speedhack seeing him come toward me like that.

yeah like I want to hear a server full of people while I am playing the game. Peeps should know what to do and where to go by now.

It’s not as bad as you make it out to be.
There are a lot of 20+ (age) players in our mumble.
Have you ever tried giving warning of a zerg, with numbers of attackers, and defenders, while kiting away from them, all while typing it out? Chances are you’ll get even more frustrated and give up altogether. The alternative: say it. You’ll be instantly told what the rest of the team is doing and if you’re going to get support.

A lot of commanders probably spent real money to get the hundred gold. It’s not like they don’t make money from us. Also, we all try multiple sets of gear to use in WvW. Buying gems and selling them is the fastest way to do that. WvW is a massive gold sink overall. You can make money doing it, but not as much money as you’d make if you stuck with pve. Capture a tower = 2 silver. Die once = 3s. Kill 10 players = make 0-2 badges. Flame ram = 6 badges. Alternative = 6s. Etc.

Problems:
Periodic lag during free trials/ events.
3s new build/auto-kick and losing siege.
Culling became an issue after the culling fix.
Throwing siege throw walls and doors.
Immunity walls.

Being out-manned could mean there’s 50 more players than your team of 10. This is handled in sPVP with auto-balancing (something people hate). In my opinion, for WvW, it should give the message: “Waiting for players” before letting more people in from a majority population server. The matching of certain teams vs each other is still way off. The larger zerg presence server always wins. Have it show # of free slots available on a map when you join a map or something.

Leave it to the 3rd place team to attack the 2nd place team, insuring the lead for the first. Happens every game. Ugh.

Maguuma has the flame ram randomly placed in various parts of the map. Useless parts. Be on the look-out for his guest appearance.

Our numbers are bad with this pve event business. We lost Durios to 20 people because 10 of our players were on the Grub. /sigh

Mag is the only server anxious to do WvW every week. PvE/events = yuck.

Maguuma is always looking for new faces.

This match was cake, not because we out-manned anyone, we most certainly did not. We don’t need to be in some massive guild that jumps from server to server looking for wins. We stick with each other, get to know each other, and give it our all.

How are you stacking so much might?
It looks like you’re using evasive arcana in that vid.
Your hp is above 17k so your gear probably has vit on it, or at least your accessories do.
I use 0/10/10/30/20, knight’s exalted 4pc, and the pvc% accessories and have around 16.8k hp. I’ve been using 40% swiftness duration and swiftness on heal. The damage is lacking, but escape is easy.

I don’t think we’ve ever had a queue time on more than 1 map at time.
I feel we’ve been out-numbered in EB a vast majority of the time during “oceanic” times.
The only time we have a queue on a map is: 1) first day after a reset, and 2) right after 1 map was zerg-captured, having an influx of our players to the other map that is doing better.

Everyone in the mid tier bracket’s population will grow over time due to high queue times from the top tiers. That is to be expected. How you perform in-game, and react to things determines whether a guesting player will stick around or not. This match we have a few new guilds that seem to like our play-style, and it’s helping us out a bunch. On Maguuma we handle ourselves well vs being out-numbered, but if it appears even we tend to dominate. If we have way more than the other team, (because they left after we completed a map,) we send (or we spontaneously switch over) players to other maps. We have dedicated players who stay behind and build up defenses. Maybe you don’t have this?

Don’t feel bad. I tried to make a ballista to kill Ebay’s superior trebs in ruins alone, and it wasn’t until 4 hours later and 5 ballistas that I got the proper support to build them in different places.

Our so-called nightcap crew is really not that good. It’s an argument sometimes to get people into your point of view, but eventually it pays off. We got a few new guilds this match that were guesting here last match that help our numbers on off-hours a bit. We especially like people who do not mind playing defense and spending the coin on upgrades.

To go back to my first point, after my first ballista failed I made the mistake of getting frustrated and going to fend off an assault at the northern keep, only to find out that SM wall was down, and by the time I got back there, Ebay was in inner SM. I rallied players from another map in desperation, (because we really do not outnumber Ebay,) and we pushed them out and got the walls back up. This was not quick work. It took about an hour. I was mentioning several times about ballistas being able to hit the trebs without having to go into ruins (where all your siege was), and trying to scale the stone tower (which had an arrowcart and many chances for fall-deaths), before the final one was taken out.

The moral of the story is: We do not have a real commander in our day crew. We are a collective of many guilds who strive to get ‘er done. And, as frustrating as it is sometimes, there are always people who you will find to help you in whatever plan you can come up with. I love my server. I’ve never transfered. I’ve thought it about it at times, but I’m pretty attached now. There’s no greater reward for victory than one earned through struggle, trials, and tribulations.

We could use about 20-30 more Euro/day U.S. time players at Mag to start ranking up again. Otherwise we’re pretty comfortable sitting upper mid. If we had 20-30 more per map, we’d be really high ranked, but then succumb to queues for every map, and that’s not fun. Mid ftw!

I love the scores this week. This is how it should always be. Not 1 team with 300k and the other two with 100k and 30k like you see in the other threads.

The positive thing I can say is that this matchup has been the closest to balanced we’ve ever had.

I don’t mind all the trash talking, but it is abuse to use the reporting system as a means to communicate with the other servers. They added the names as a way to report hackers and exploiters from other servers. I’ve never messaged another player on another server because I know about this.
