If you’re not having fun because you’re losing I don’t know how you’ve lasted on Maguuma for any length of time. You can’t play 24/7, so why worry about coverage and ppt? Capping stuff is fun sometimes, but it kind of sucks that the new meta is hoping to avoid a fight to do it. If you’re not into the pvp part of it then I doubt you’ll have much fun in these new random matchups.

I don’t mind losing – as you said – we don’t always win. I can also buy the comment that finding fights and doing well (and not the ppt) is the best part of the game. But so many times when people use that excuse – it sounds like – an excuse.

The point here is that these matches of late are far too lopsided to encourage any type of game play that would be considered fun. An even fight is the best fight. Then it’s skill on skill. The fight is then decided by thinking and quick maneuvers and team minded play. I will grant that the opposite scenario is just as bad.

It’s the even fights that we need. The ones where the game isn’t decided until the last minute. The ones where the match is decided by who played best. Who doesn’t mind losing in a situation like that, to a worthy opponent. I don’t mind at all. I’m just saying that Dragonbrand is NOT that worthy opponent. Who’s fault is that – not Dragonbrand. They’re doing what they can to make fun where there isn’t any- in the absence of equal numbers (equal fights). They cannot help that they outnumber us or that their time slots are filled to the brim. The fault lies with Anet! Plain and simple. The original post was about how it sucks that we’re up against T2 servers – and it does. Period.

Meh, the scoring system is a measure of population coverage, not skill. There’s nothing we can do about population coverage, so why worry about it? Just play for the fights. If you play for PPT, and you’re not a commander of any note, then you’re wasting your time worrying about things outside of your control.

True – but it doesn’t make it less frustrating. It would be easier if Anet said – this is a system of scoring based on population and coverage – but they don’t.

And some people on our beloved Maguuma try to make excuses. Meh – whatever. I just trudge through – find fights where I can get them – have fun with friends – and try to lose with some dignity. It would help tons if Anet would stop screwing that up. But – I get what you’re saying. And you’re right – I should stop worrying about it.

So basically you agree with the “play for fun” thing. Got it.

While I agree with the sentiment that this is WvW and if you don’t want to fight don’t come here, getting their rears handed to them by ‘griefers’ is in no way shape or form going to encourage anyone to stick around and play WvW. Just the opposite I think.

There is definitely some amount of truth to that, but I’d hesitate to say that much of what is going on in the JP is griefing, it is more that people unused to WvW are coming into a much deadlier map than they are accustomed to. That is the risk you take.

The devs could fix this whole issue I think in one move. Remove BoH from the JP. These kinds of threads about the JP would stop pretty fast imo. And really, there’s no logical reason why the JP should give BoH. If there are people in it, and you kill them, then you can get the BoH that way (by actually doing PvP).

There isn’t an issue to fix. They clearly want people entering the JP, since they’ve had two achievements recently that require getting most of the way through. BoH are one way to get people to enter.

Cant let you get away with that Pinko, Mag have been zerg camping the Jp on/off all week. Just a few hours ago there was 15-20 Mag camping it against one or two. So please dont complain when you finally get zerged back, also to point out it was not only mag but [DERP] doing the camping. So I’m guessing you are well aware numbers are everything, hence why you guys are friendly in a small grp but unfriendly when you know numbers are on your side :P

There are easy ways to get past those pesky campers. I don’t have to tell you, though.

I was in Pink and ‘learnt’ most of the open field combat initially there. I am in ZN but due to timezone differences havent been able to GvG with them yet. As a mesmer though I was a ringer for CERN, xTYR and AWE in some of their GvG’s.

My theorycrating is a mixture of my in-game experience, talking with some top european GvG experts on a daily basis and my 8-10 year extensive experience playing as in-game leader in sponsored counter-strike teams across three continents where I won quite a few LANs and have probably around 100-150 LAN tournament experiences under my belt. I think thats a pretty good starting point to theory-craft from wouldn’t you say so? xD

not saying glass specs dont have a place but its limited. I see glass specs best in smaller groups where u can have a group of 5 run dif specs gear and cause havoc around the map

When you see a train of hammers coming at you, you move out of the way. Glass just requires more escapes/better dodges.

Farewell, PYRO. It’s been great running with you and I’ll miss you, as I’m sure most of Maguuma will as well. When Paralda told me you were transferring, I admit I was a bit shocked, but I’m sure you’ll find some good fights there.

If you right click the report function in game, it will give you the player’s account name. You don’t even have to party with them. And send the screen shots in via “violation” … because that’s what it is.

This hasn’t worked for months.

Do a /invite or /join, waypoint or wait a couple minutes hoping they don’t run away and cancel it. Then you’ll see the account name instead of “Server Invader.”

I don’t mean to doubt Ethic’s abilities, but I doubt he has the skill to record that video today, record himself losing target and looking around for you, then finding you well above him on separate occasions. Then he’d need to add in the voiceovers for people talking about it, as well as having people typing into map chat talking about it in sync.

Think about all the frame-by-frame edits that would need to be made, and try to come up with a better excuse.

Comparing that to a guild who has apparently been on one server until very recently would be very strange.

And what makes you think the thread failed? RE carefully considered where they wanted to transfer to, as any guild should when it comes time for them to transition.

It seems the goalposts have moved.
