At one point, David said “We wanted to give gliders a sense of freedom.”
hypocrite
If its meant to feel free, then why give it an endurance bar? The character shown was supposedly decked out with Masteries to make the endurance bar longer, and it still felt so restrictive. Even with the Masteries, she was barely scraping jumps by the skin of her teeth, thats not freedom, thats just a good way to give someone a nervous twitch.
They never said she wad decked out with masteries. And at one point they mentioned that her mastery points was at all of “2” so I’m guessing she’s at the base limit of masteries not at the end…
Yeah, but if you’re doing it for a daily and it’s only lvl 1 there are likely going to be a whole lot of people joining that have no idea what they’re doing. In that case swamp is going to be a bad choice. I remember when I first did swamp, for a long time we re-rolled for that one because no one knew the paths, the traps got people and we couldn’t do it. We learned how and for us it’s the quickest, but if you’re solo or with a bunch of new to fractal only there for daily folks I really would go aquatic. Sure it’s underwater combat, but it can be as fast as or quicker than swamp.
For new people, yes aquatic is easiest and potentially faster. But with a group that knows Swamp, there is no comparison on time to complete. Swamp is stupid fast.
Absolutely, completely agree.

I dont have any character with fractals above level 3 so I cant really do the 21-30 one.
None of my guild that are on at the moment are up for fractals and PUGing them is the less preferable option to pulling out my eyes with a rusty spanner.
So yeah, cant do daily again.
Just type this LFG “LFG swamp level 1 for daily, quick run”
You will fill that group fast and the actual fractal itself only takes 10min. Longer with people that don’t know the first part, but as long as 3 people know what they are doing, it can be cleared in under 10min even.
Aquatic is even easer IMO. Don’t have to deal with the coordination of the wisps. Kill some krait, swim through a tunnel either in the dark or as a dolphin, then kill a jellyfish.
I’d keep the crossing and get the sunless GS for my necro in advance…
This. I keep doing teq in hopes to get his hoarde for a second time (first was ages ago)….
Be glad youve gotten one. I have yet to see a single 1 after 2 minis (which arent worth crap) snd countless spoons.
OH I’m very grateful to have ever gotten one….just sad I picked the shortbow rather than say the scepter or warhorn or staff or greatsword.

That would be really nice.
Yeah this particular achievement can go kitten itself. Not bothering. Only 1 interrupt from using this skill numerous times? Make the stun count and it isnt’ that bad. I’ll do the others and skip this one.
“Dragon’s Gaze”
My only problem with this one is that it requires 100 INTERRUPTS, not uses. Just stunning doesn’t count.
Everything else seems reasonable as far as achieving.
Another minus is not having any rewards for a win or loss. If there were say 2-5 envelops for a win and 1 for a loss I think that would be acceptable and might keep people from abandoning. I don’t expect to win every time, but it took me 2 hours to get 4 wins. That’s not right.
looks more like earrings to me :P
can someone post a picture of it? Or is it in the wardrobe? (and I can see when I get home)
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Coffer_of_the_Dragon_Ball_Champion
looks like you have to win 10 to get the coffer which has the token.
Looks like the token is only for doing the repeatable win 10 matches
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Coffer_of_the_Dragon_Ball_Champion
what does it look like?
“Ranger bows won’t deal damage to structures (Teq fingers etc.) and will give an obstructed message when there is nothing in the way even if the ranger is in point blank range.”
This is a problem in the Ascalon fractal too as you can’t damage the siege (exception: oil above the doors) there with your arrows either. I assume it’s the same with the burrows in AC as well (I don’t ranger in dungeons).
The other issue with the siege in the Ascalon fractal is that your charrbros (NPCs that follow you) wont’ attack the siege unless it damages them even if you’re attacking it. They wouldn’t help take down the door either. Not a problem in a party really, but took forever when I did it by myself.
Umm the chest a champ leaves is to let you know you got a rare item or higher.
The chest left by a champ (or other mob) will either be a wooden chest (rare) or steel chest (exotic). It could be the rare/exotic champ bag OR it could be a rare/exotic item.
The persistent chests in the world are not affected by MF, but the drops from mobs that is affected by Magic Find and only when you get a rare or exotic is when you’ll see those temporary chests. Confusing I’ll agree, but it’s a little comforting to know that my drop I might have to leave in wvw isnt’ a rare or exotic when I don’t see the chest there and it’s just a little loot bag. But at the time your loot is there on the ground, the item has been generated before you hit “F” (or whatever your auto loot button is).
I like that precursors are tradeable…legendaries should not be tradeable.
Laokoko, some of that might be true for one pane of my bank, but the rest is account bound stuff. I have a personal guild bank to put potions, runes, sigils, excess crafting materials and recipes. The only stuff I tend to destroy when space crunch happens is a few misc skins that I’ve unlocked that I was saving to use later. I’m down to one bank pane with skins, the rest are account bound items or the immediate use crafting materials that I don’t want to store in the guild bank. One of my characters is almost full of dragonite ore and another is hoarding champ bags (I don’t know why anymore…she just is). I have a full bank tab of bandit crests that I’d love to free up for other account bound stuff.
Agreed completely… see signature. Colin has a post on the first page of my thread with their thinking.
I appreciate being able to spend crests/geodes/crafting mats from my bank, but I still want crests/geodes in the wallet.
Outfits have 4 dye channels and once you buy one it’s unlocked for your account forever. Free to apply and change whenever. They’re great for leveling.
My personal favorites are the chef’s outfit on sylvari and the pirate outfit.
that’s cool! What do you mean buy them? I have earned a bunch of dyes from black lion boxes and ones guildmembers gave me. Do i need to buy outfit dyes from the gem store? from an in game store?
Yes, most outfits are gem store items. Some like the Hex outfit we could buy with candy corn cobs during Halloween. But it’s a one time purchase and I think it’s quite worth the cost to get at least one. I don’t know of any others that were not gem store besides the Hex outfit.
As others have said you can convert in-game gold to gems so you don’t have to use real-world money. I’m at work so I can’t see how much it would cost in gold to buy an outfit. The second tab you see when you press “O” is where you convert gems to gold and gold to gems. There is some tiny text near the bottom for “custom” exchange where you can get the exact amount of gems you want rather than their one size fits all exchange that you first see.

I’d rather they didn’t. I enjoy mapping wvw as part of the whole world completion. It’s a challenge, I like that. I’m working on my 13th full completion right now.
You can get that if I can get the hobotron backpack dialog boxes turned off.
They haven’t said one way or the other, but since you won’t have access to the Mastery System without the expansion, it’s very likely you will need the expansion to access the new maps. You couldn’t go to Cantha or Elona or EoTN without purchasing those expansions/campaigns so I would assume it’s the same with HoT.
I can’t play New Wave Bossa Nova without a smooth sax. How will I ever awaken the spirit of the Great Bay and save Termina without a sexy sax riff?
Safe sax is no sax >.>
Bassoons or bust.

Anything except human.
and make sure you’re not in the wardrobe page rather than the equipment page.
I’ve found too many things (AC burrows, siege in Ascalon fractal, etc) are all obstructed to ranged damage. When I’m on my ranger if I switch to greatsword I can damage it just fine…but any sort of ranged damage the item is “obstructed”…ranger pets just stand there and look at it like there’s nothing there too. It is definitely an issue and I don’t think it’s always been this way. I used to be able to pick off the siege in the Ascalon fractal from a distance, but I can’t anymore. Glad someone else noticed it too, hopefully they’ll fix it.
“We talked polearms. No polearms in this expansion. Colin said “We warned the art team what the community would think when they saw the trailer, but they chose to make things the way they did.” It looks like a polearm but it is not. No word if they ever will be."

Sorry, no polearms/land spears in HoT.
Yeah I used the PvP method to finish out the Arah track. So glad to be done with Dungeoneer.
I’d love for these to be added to the Guild Commendation vendor…that’s how I wind up buying the accessories. (Fractals for Rings & Laurels for amulets)
I agree it is steep, but the other accessories are also 40 laurels (though 50 ecto rather than 5g according to the wiki)
The dungeoneer accessories are available from the guy that you unlock the spoon collection from. He also has the recipes and other things from the collection rewards.
Edit: He’s in Lion Plaza near where the statue was. Screenshot below showing prices of stuff.

Giant Killer used to be easier to do before the megaservers, I really really regret not doing it when I knew the “trick”
We really need some more veteran giants to make this achievement doable, imagine a dungeon full of veteran giants!
I’d think it would be a little easier now as you could find more people around to scale up the event in Brisbane to get more giants to spawn. (it spawns up to 5-6 non-champ giants). I haven’t worked towards giant slayer yet, but I’m up to around 40 without trying or going out of my way to work on it.
I hope that the new specializations make it easier to get the off-hand weapon masteries.
We’re getting a guaranteed way to get precursors…I just hope the collections for each of the precursors doesn’t rely too heavily on RNG.
Lore and story wise I would say yes, For Hall of monuments points , yes. Game-play wise for me it sucked. I brought GW when it came out played it a few days and didn’t get back into it until I had been playing GW2 for a year
This is what I would echo too. For Lore, story & HoM points, yes play it. I tried to go back and get more HoM points and it is so painful to play for me. But you might like it.
Kilroy, we must have Kilroy Stonekin!
YES. I so hope we can summon Kilroy Stonekin!
I completed it just fine yesterday…with a huge group there even. I got over 10 champ bags from this event chain and not one event failed or was there anyone being toxic. They changed the fail timer so that the restart is the same regardless (or so I thought). There is no reason to purposely fail it and it would suck if they removed champs from the spawn. I like it the way it is.
The problem with 2 accounts is all the account-bound stuff . I’d rather just have 1 account, so i can at least trade between characters.
The account bound stuff and the account bonuses… I thought about getting another account but I’d never play it because I love the account bonuses I have and wouldn ’t want to start over.
Weirdest I’ve seen are Flame Rams not completely loading. Flame rams are literally made of flame.
Sometimes you have to get on and off the buttons at the top several times before the poison clears. It is weird and buggy.
I love the seed turret elites. I want to see a full WvW Sylvari zerg drop their seed turrets all at once and watch stuff bleed to death. XD
They’re not the best skills, but they are FUN.
My thought now is that the living story is meant as a way to introduce the expansions. So that through the living story they can show HOW and WHY the world came to be and bring to life the full blown expansions. In other games there’s the main game going along and then suddenly there’s ninja pandas with no rhyme or reason as to why they’re there or what caused them to spring forth into the game world.
So they’re using the living world stories to show what’s going on and how the game is changing instead of suddenly boom expansion with no workup and nothing in the main game to explain why there’s a sudden explosion of game content.
To me this makes the most sense as to how they’re doing something different than every other game out there and show “how [they’re] setting up a new framework for how an MMO can grow its universe.”
This is what it all sounds like to me.
I only solo queue and it is rare for me to be matched against a full premade team. Yeah it happens, and it sucks when it does, but for the most part I haven’t seen an issue myself.
I couldn’t post at all today because of this error….so annoying.
There’s one way of getting low level cloth that hasn’t been mentioned yet: opening bags of gear / champ bags with a character that is around the level that gives the cloth you want. The bags will drop gear up to 5 levels below your level, and the level ranges for each cloth is as follows (from wiki):
Jute: 0-20
Wool: 16-33
Cotton: 31-48
Linen: 44-63
Silk: 58-80So let’s say you want lots of linen. With a character level of 53-57 all light armor you get from the bags should salvage into linen scraps.
Now, opening champ bags on low level characters may not be that smart, but the bags of gear that mostly drop blue gear anyway and are rewarded in SW in good quantities are good for this purpose.
This is what I do…I tried to give this suggestion earlier today but apparently the forums won’t let me post.
The exotic champ bags DO still give the champ weapons and T6 mats regardless of the character opening them. So I send my silverwastes champ bags to my low level characters to open. I get the added bonus of not having gobs of bloodstone dust. When I run out of bloodstone dust I open the champ bags on an 80 to get enough to feed Mawdrey for a few days. I’ve never had to buy any low level mats since I started this and as an added bonus I’m overflowing with iron now too.
I very much appreciate all the little Dev notes. Thank you for those, it’s nice to see a little insight into the reasoning why things were changed even if I don’t agree with everything. HUGE improvement on how it’s been done where they just give us the change with no explanation. <3
I just wish barrage shot flowers too…roses to be specific. I shall rain down thorny death upon my enemies!
I love my kudzu, they’ve tried fixing the bowstring, but it is still a bit off. If they changed the color of it from black to a shimmery gold I think it would look better.
And it’s now one of two with 3D footfalls (Eternity has them now too with the little poofies above the footfalls).
And my sylvari’s glow matches the pulsing glow of the bow so it’s win win for me.
