Well you said it yourself, they are rewards for Guild Wars 1 players they won’t and shouldn’t add make any HoM items available to people who did not earn them.

In that case, I suggest either removing special pet skins from the pet management window or giving every profession ability colors (green mesmers for example) obtainable with HoM points. I say that because it’s weird to have a favorite profession I can’t max in pve. Either all professions should be that way or none, but, I suppose that is just my opinion and I can live with it as it is. It’s only a suggestion. God walking amongst mere mortals is cool and similar but I don’t care about that because it’s an optional title who’s missing presence isn’t even noticable in the UI. For completionists, this is kind of maddening and I’d hate to put 1500 hours into an old game when gw2 is staring me in the face. It’s just not worth it.

It is after all very likely that the flavor of the month build is the overpowered build, so of course it will get nerfed.
If people are stupid enough to spend loads of time/money/whatever to get gear that only works for that very specific build that is their problem, not ArenaNets.

This is a false dilemma. It’s entirely possible for the game to have ongoing balancing and for the ascended gear to be more easily grinded so that people can more easily switch classes/specs, in fact they are complementary not antagonistic in nature.

I also don’t think people are stupid for playing whatever is the strongest build at the time for their respective class.

Sounds like you are playing the completely wrong genre (to me).

Just stick to “your” class. Why drop it only because it got less effective? For what reasons do you play a roleplaying game?

Ok I have been back and forth with people in game and with friends…..All MMO’s do it this way and I am not sure why. Why is GW2 forcing the guilds and groups idea. They half exp and loot between everyone that fights with us. But the problem with the game is not one person can play solo cause everything is near impossible being the the levels are nerfed when you go into a number of areas. I hate the fact that MMO’s make it hard for people to level up by letting everyone take half loot and half exp just for standing near a person while they do their best to fight. and Take the spoils of fighting. I always played Solo but GW2 is forcing people like myself to join guilds or fight with a group so they can take my exp and loot just for being apart of the guild.

So why do you play an online rpg? There are so many beautiful offline rpgs out there that won’t force you into group-play.

From my experience guardian, followed closely by warrior. While the warrior is squishier he has a very decent range option (rifle). A guardian has a scepter for ranged combat but that is mediocre at best. But you can melee all with a guardian. He is kind of immortal

Rifle is not a good range option for solo pve.

if all melees alpha on path 2 or 3, you’re all going to die. It’s all about the aoe’s and it’s really hard to teach the pugs how not to wipe on it. I don’t think that CoE’s design can be called lazy, especially when most people don’t know how to beat this boss without a) dodging and mixing all aoe circles up b) not stacking and not wiping, due to being able to understand the aoe’s that alpha does.

Yeah, you are right. You can only meele P1 and while doing the fights in P2 and P3 for the first time and noticing for example that those aoe’s are donuts and only 1 specific aoe ring deals dmg was kinda cool but then again you have 3 paths and in those 3 paths you always fight against alpha.

that’s what a raid is in most MMOs. I’ve never seen anyone in any MMO refer to the world bosses as raids and yet Guild Wars 2 is not the only MMO with actual world bosses.
If to be pedantic about it you could go with this http://www.thefreedictionary.com/raid . In that case any attack is a raid and Guild Wars 2 dungeons could be called raids too.

CoF is just the consequence of lazy dungeon design. A.Net clearly had not time left for all the dungeons. That’s why we have CoE, CoF and HoW, they all have nice settings but most of the fights there are just dull and boring.

did you even learn the mechanics to CoE? Or are you one of those people that go to path 2 or 3 with me and shout something very stupid like “all melee the boss!”

Oh yeah, I did all paths the “proper” way and everytime we reached the “it was fun for the first time but you are starting to overuse it” laser jumping part I just felt that everything was copy pasted with some small changes.
I, myself, enjoy doing dungeons the normal way but sometimes you are just forced to do what the rest of the group wants and seeing how extremly easy it gets with stuff like “staying always in meelerange of alpha” is kinda weird for me because I always thought those fights are challenging.

You see what happened after the pent/shelter dynamic event nerf. People just move onto the next most profitable event.

People will always farm the same dungeon and same area which is most efficient for gold.

It’s not a matter of interacting (I would not be playing an MMO if I didn’t want to play with other people) so much as a personal reward is actively reliant on other people cooperating with you and with your server having enough or a presence to be competitive. I don’t care that you have to go into WvW (for a Legendary you have to for BoH anyway), it’s that you need people with different objectives than you to work in your favor, and that you need enough people in your server as a whole playing to be able to stand a chance against your competitors.

There are enough people complaining about the WvW exploration I am pretty sure you can form a pretty big zerg with them.

All I can say is, that I am not an active WvW player nor is my server really good in WvW but I got my 100%.

First off all i would give the class “Player that plays the game” the ability to post in the right subforum.

Remove world completion token, wvw token and dungeon tokens from legendary also remove the star. And it’s done. Everyone is happy.

Some people don’t like fighting open world after hitting max level, some of them do not like dungeons and some simply do not like pvp. If you remove these, everyone can craft their legendary, or make profit with their style of gameplay.

I say just mail everyone a legendary and call it a day. All problems solved.

Why would you call it a nerf in the first place? It is a dull and boring path. Adding more mechanics that require groupcoordination shouldn’t be called nerfing.

Bring back the old (GW 1 Release) login screen!

Introduce area effects like muddy terrain which slows your movement, frozen ground which makes you immune to stability, fog which reduces your attackrange by x%, etc.

ANet has to start getting much smarter with their Living Story Event system. So that all this content doesn´t just vanish uselessly after some time.

Not really. Entitlement is when you expect something you didn’t pay for. HawkMeister feels he should be getting something for his money that he isn’t getting. So it’s not an entitlement mentality.

You may or may not agree with his opinion, but calling it “Entitlement” is quite incorrect.

The problem is hawkmeister thinks that he is paying A.Net money which is wrong.
