HATE: Jumping puzzles.
DESPISE: TIME GATES, RNG & THE TRINITY !
I love the idea, I’d love to use a set of these runes for bosses. Honestly just having these runes would make having a tank in dungeons more viable as you could keep aggro on yourself and away from squishies.
Taunt has nothing to do with aggro management, it doesn’t change who is on the top of the aggro list, once taunt is over the enemy will revert back to attacking whoever is on it’s most wanted list.
Don’t make the same mistake, read, process and understand before making assumptions that have no basis on current game mechanics.
Also, theses runes are a bad idea, there is already a trait that increases taunt duration on the professions that actually have access to it.
- Legend swapping feels delayed, maybe because of the overly cute animations, needs to be quite a bit more responsive.
- Full zerker build felt extremely weak, maybe because the DPS line and legend is still missing…..either way it needs a major buff.
- Legend swap animation above your head, can it be seen by enemy players ? if yes, please remove. it gives away part of strategy…
- Skill 5 on staff, if I have an enemy targeted it should go towards my target’s direction instead of the way I’m facing.
- Staff 4, should be a blast finisher.
- Forced engagement, needs a more visible tell other than pointing at target !
- Ventari’s tablet needs friendly AOE markers to identify area affected.
- Protective solace, should drain an additional chunk of energy for each projectile it destroys, on top of it’s upkeep cost.
- Right of the great dwarf, 5 second duration on an elite skill ?? I know it is powerful but man is it short.
This was a reason for me to not play revenant to much this weekend.
I’ve never had a precursor drop EVER and if it were to drop for me on a beta character from a mob kill or some other legitimate means other than the mystic toilet I would quit the game right at that moment !!!
also, thief has skills that grant him initiative besides the natural regen..
revenant doesn’t have these !
so yes, either remove energy cost from skills or introduce traits that grant energy back.
Dual sword wielding assassin power based DPS spec legend ?
Yes please !
Especially after playing revenant today, it felt so weak…..

Every dungeon is easy once you learn the mechanics involved…..
Even in GW2, at launch so many people complained about:
- How hard dungeons were and how punishing the repair costs were…….
- It felt unrewarding to run dungeons when dying took away 50% of the reward at the end.
Not taking into consideration they didn’t know jack about builds and such yet, a.net caved, nerved dungeons and buffed rewards more than once to appease the masses….
The result, is what we have now:
- Easy boring dungeons in general…..
- Trivialized exotic gear….
- No fear of dying since there is no monetary punishment for dying again and again.
Moral of the story….
be careful what you ask for !
Dungeons were fine, people didn’t learn the game before asking for [censored] nerfs.
Now dungeons are ruined as an end game activity.

You seem to be confusing the content system with the reward system.
I disagree with:
- Raid Shards – there’s already a death penalty system in place where someone who downs too often will end up dead. This coupled with a well-designed encounter mechanics negates the need to artificially limit rezzing.
- Raid attunement – I don’t see the harm in letting players switch characters. A well-designed encounter should be the obstacle, not an artificial barrier.
You make good points, let me explain my reasoning as to why these are needed.

Buzzing bees and karka mini’s all over the place wherever I go :S
These items may be expensive but man are they annoying !
I find myself muting the entire game because of these items/ mini pet sounds
preventing me from enjoying the beautiful soundtracks the game has to offer.
I would be eternally grateful if you provide me with a slider to mute those annoying mini pet sounds, specially the mini karka’s annoying chirping and grinding.
You did it for the musical instruments, and I have never been more grateful.
Now, please do it again for these annoying sounds please I beg of you.

put the fossilized queen bee annoying sounds into that slider as well, that one is even MORE annoying !

These are the only pieces of content besides fractals that actually require some measure of skill in the ENTIRE game….
How about you casually enjoy the other 98% of the game which is totally casual friendly, and leave these to those that want something a bit more difficult (for lack of a better word) since these are not considered challenging content whatsoever, just mildly more difficult.

A character slot should be included with HoT even if people buy it after it comes out.
The character slot is required to make HoT fully functional.

U can have : Stronghold, specialization, guilds halls, new WvW Map.
U can’t go in maguuma jungle, have elite specialization (1 new weapon for each profession) and play revenant if u don’t buy it.
- Guild halls are physically in the maguuma jungle, so you will need HoT to access them.
- Elite specializations also require HoT, core specs do not.

To clarify: $50 is the price of the expansion. We included the core game as a free bonus to make it easier for new players to get into it.

Nope I dont think it is moving that way, GW2 ALWAYS had support builds/rolls.
The game getting harder (maybe) doesnt mean it is still needed, Aegis/blinds/walls for 90% all fights will still be used.
Blinds/Protection boon/Walls/Aegis/Time warp ARE the Support sets for PVE Wvw/pvp is a different monster, but for PvE in order to NOT be forced into a Holy Trinity anet will keep it about the same, better AI and Mechanics doesnt me Trinity.
Those aren’t builds or roles, what you described is utilities. Every full zerker DPS can use blinds/prot/walls/aegis/time warp, there is no build or role required. Those are full dps characters who have the right utilities.
A healing rev will have to spec for healing and wear healing power gear in order to do enough healing for the entire party, that is a role. Currently nothing like that exists, everyone can run full zerker gear and still provide the exact same utility as someone in full nomads gear.
Hopefully we’ll see a similar role develop for tanks where they get a build that gives them tons of taunt and prot and they will benefit from full soliders or nomads gear.
what you described is also WRONG !
those are the traditional style trinity roles which are tied to stats and all that.
utilities ARE part of your build in gw2 it is THE reason zerkers can bring meaningful support…..
This also points to yet another thing trinity lovers do that ticks me off !
trying to implement those trinity style ideas to a game that is vastly different.
if you don’t like how a.net implemented support and you wanna play a trinity style role system go play a trinity based game there problem solved.
I for one like the ideas implemented though they are not perfect they are to me far better than the yee old stuffy trinity roles of getting stuck on one role you either do dps, tank or heal. what a boring crap.

I wish more people would understand this ^^ and stop asking for holy trinity, but that would require them to be open minded and forward thinking towards the future instead of being stuck in the past. But, noooooo that would make to much sense for them I guess.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind it. Now all we need is content where it will be required to use one (except WvW to an extent), maybe the AI rework will change things in dungeons and events so a healer will be important. We’ll see.
They need to be careful not to turn gw2 into the old curse other games have, the yee old dreaded "LF healer & LF tank posts in LFG systems.
It should be viable but not required !
Man, the people screaming for trinity to be implemented are gonna ruin this [censored] awesome game.
If you miss the [censored] trinity so much, go play one of the million and one other pieces of [censored] mmorpg’s out there that have it.

They are essentially starting to add the trinity. You have a Ventari healing spec, a Jalis tank spec, and the other 8 professions for DPS.
Hopefully they tailor the other professions to more trinity roles with future specializations so every group isn’t forced to have two revenants.
They need to be careful how they add trinity style mechanics without introducing a full blown mandatory tank/healer/dps style of gameplay.
if that happens I would be sadly saying goodbye to gw2 as will many many others that enjoy the current systems.

It is not the individual little things that get to people as they are easily dismissed or overlooked.
The real problem is the accumulation of a lot of little things which add up to a rather larger more concerning issue.
Think about water droplets individually they do nothing but let them drop inside a glass for some time and they quickly accumulate and cause a spill, leave it still going and at some point you will have a flood problem.
“Dyeing” weapons would really make no sense.
Makes total sense especially since it was possible in the 1st game.

Before people farm for hours and hours on end for portals, you should have told people the test was going to be a grand total of 6 hours, split into 2 hour blocks.
People would have had a lot less frustration in farming had they known it really wasn’t going to be worth the effort.
I agree, had I known this I wouldn’t have spent countless hours farming a whole week for something that ultimately didn’t drop and made me hate gw2 RNG based loot system quite a bit more than the usual, oh X item didn’t drop oh well move on.
Before this portal fiasco I used to hate RNG moderately, now I hate it’s guts with a passion.
You can get Onyx lodestones from Earth Elementals, Dust Mites (who also drop charged lodestones) and I’ve never had a problem getting them. Dust Mites seem to drop onyx more often than charged (which is what I want).
Farm Dry Top or the Silverwastes and you’ll have no issues getting lodestones and/or cores to upgrade to lodestones.
This method is completely reliant of [censored] RNG.
I would rather see lodestones added to something along the lines of the map rewards they talked about for T6 material acquisition.
Yeah, I hate[ censored] RNG, that probably should be part of my signature !

My point is:
If I was a DEV and one of my most precious items with some of the lowest drop rates in the game was being dropped to the same players 8 times. I would revisit my code cause there is most likely an elephant size bug hiding inside it.
Would I tell the player base ? prob not !
damage control right there just by saying nothing.
In fact this was probably the safest way to do it, because coding something that shuts off the drop after you got it the first time could lead to very dangerous bugs.

A very minuscule percentage of people getting 8 copies of an item so many are after with such a low probability of dropping seems to indicate a very LARGE issue with a.net RNG systems.

Just playing devil’s advocate here, but what if they DID make a boo boo with the code that suppose to make sure people only got 1 portal, and instead what the code does is keep giving them portal after portal ?

Hope it is placeholder art, since it would be impossible to know at a glance which class is using tether between revenant and dragon hunter.
yes, i know i could look at the condition being applied on target to identify it, but i believe they should be unique enough to identify them just by looking at them.
I think you mean digital pre-purchase though.
pre-ordering is for subscription games.
And rest assured there will be a pre-purchase for HoT since there was one for the launch of the game itself.
