I don’t enjoy WvW because its like a weriod fake puzzle game with lots of wasted space and mazes. I would love it if they took out the “mazes/puzzles” and use this space to place guild houses and player cities…giving us the control of setting a time for a more real group waring experience. Instead, WvW makes me feel like a controlled mouse in a trap.

The only item in the game that requires an excessive about of gold and or time, is the legendary weapon.

I think we need more items/treasures introduced into the game for those players who think the journey to getting their legendary is not fun.

How about a Merchant?

—has a special line of really nice armour, starting from shabby to royalty!
—weapons are also used for gathering
—as a merchant increases in levels, so does his ability to gather better and more resources then non-merchants.
—special effects of the merchants weapons could be area effects to keep mobs away , and a fast get away.

And more…theres alot that could be added to a merchant class

Making gold so you can buy the (hopefully) often added new exciting treasures, is a major fun part of game play. And not everyone likes a overly challenging dungeon…especially when those dungeons involve dieing alot and running back.

Plenty of end game!

Dungeons – collect all dungeon sets, get Dungeon Master achievement
Fractals – see how high you can go, get Ascended gear
Level all crafting disciplines, you can learn all 8 on one character
Mini pets – collect them all
Achievements
Titles
Build a legendary weapon
Jumping Puzzles
WvW – join your server’s Teamspeak, help your server win!
sPvP & tPvP
Exploring, finding/triggering obscure events, open all mini-dungeons
Find and collect all the toys and shapeshifter items in game
Organize or join a raid to take the Temple of Lyssa in Malchor’s Leap
Get a couple friends and try to control the Jump puzzle in Eternal Battlegrounds (I’ve spent many a fine evening doing that, fun skirmishes & mesmer portal play)

I hit 80 months ago, haven’t run out of stuff to do yet

Can someone please explain the following? I’ve never seen these in the game yet.

—how or where do you collect mini pets?
—where are mini dungeons?
—toys and shape shifter items??

Guild homes could add alot of fun game play for all levels! Imagine:

—craftable decorations
—guild achievment points which could be spent on special items for the guild hall.
—new loot to hunt for
—trophies to place and a fun way to get them.
—a guild hall function to “war” with another guild hall at a set date and time.
—the social part of the game would be greatly increased.

Theres endless amount of new game play which could be added by having guild halls, if only they would do it!

Opened 101 boxes

Its a very tiny chance to get the bell and endless tonic, and based on a lottery. After i hunted boxes in the world for 3-4 days straight i still did not find the bell or tonic. During my adventures of box hunting i made a little over 2 gold, so i bought 200 small boxes from the TP. And i was very lucky to get the endless tonic!

But beware, because i bought another 200 boxes and did not get a super prize. So now what i do is try to farm gold just to use for boxes, so i wont deplete all my savings.

For everyone to be happy, i think they should make different levels of difficulity. Example: very easy mode to very hard mode. The very easy mode would be simuliar to the vistas in game. And the very hard mode simuliar to the clock tower.

I think Mobs in presents are way overpowered

Like the Karka and the Orrians, they are a collection of all the things that make combat against any enemy slow and boring.

Homing projectiles that hit you even if you dodge, Vulcan machine gun CCs, too high health pools, too much armor, effects and projectiles that bypass protections of all sorts, condition and boon spam, condition removal spam.

It’s like:
“Kids, here are the tools you can use to play the game.
And here are the monsters, against which these tools will not work.
Have fun!”

Seriously…

I agree! And add all the “Champions/Veterans” that take forever to kill…then don’t drop a good treasure.

Present mobs got... buffed?

in Wintersday

There was only nice drops from the spawn the very first morning of the event. Now even in a group the new spawns are very rarely even dropping an extra present, so its just not worth it to kill the mobs. Just grab the present and run.

Mystery boxes? They changed the spawn :(

in Wintersday

Posted by: lisamee.2408

lisamee.2408

And now “Princess Dolls” Can barely kill them with 3 people, then the drop rate of their loot is junk. It was very fun the first morning….just the skritt and they were dropping about one rare and other goodies every 4 hours at least.

I am guessing the next days nerf will be that we can no longer just run in and steal the present without a fight?

Is Legendary Weapons Worth Crafting?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: lisamee.2408

lisamee.2408

The way the game is set up now, its not a fun journey to get what is required for the legendary. It is a fun journey to reach 100 % world completion….but the reward is not worth it unless your going to continue on to get a legendary. I think 100 % world completion alone should include other in game rewards that an level 80 player can’t get anywhere else.

So for the level 80 player much more needs to be added to the game. I want treasures and want to show off my treasures! And i want to have fun, not frustration, getting my treasures. I don’t want to be inside a 1-3 hour dungeon for group grinding, i want to use the big beautiful world Anet made. And i don’t want to have to find a group to kill champions/mobs that take a long time to kill and get no treasure for it.

I think ArenaNet’s vision of end-game zones was very blue-sky/unrealistic — that somehow there would be hundreds of players per world on the farming treadmill for Karma and gathering. Obviously, it didn’t play out that way because it isn’t fun and the number of people willing to do it for Legendary is very low.

I agree with this post!

Do you like dungeons better or open world?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I very much dislike 1-3 hour group end game dungeon grind. Especially if the game is designed to nerf all other forms of fun, or not even include other things to do in the game for equal gain. In a huge beautiful world, there is plenty of room for a “huge” amount of activities.

I also prefer non-instanced open world dungeons, which progress from easy to hard the further you explore it.

I think its too risky to expect other players to help one person at a time get a legendary.

Why not make a large guild with the goal of “getting our legendarys”. And have organized events to work on, such as “world exploration completion”. As a large group it should be faster to complete the objectives.

What i love about GW2:

—the graphics
—the leveling system is unique
—most of the world is beautiful and pleasant to move around in
—the personal story quests
—no subscription fee
—the choices of races and professions
—the questing/zones system is unique and enjoyable (except orr)
—beautiful characters
—easy to use map and UI

what i don’t like is in other posts i hope the game can evolve to be even more fun!

I would especially love to see a modern version of Ultima Online.

It came out in 2009, it was called Darkfall. They’re shutting down the servers permanently though and have developed a new game in the series called Darkfall: Unholy Wars which comes out soon.

If you ever played UO, you should support Darkfall, it will be right up your alley. Just don’t expect Trammel.

I did buy darkfall when it came out, but sadly the computer i had could not run the game. I bought the digital download and cannot remember any account info, or which site i bought it from.

—housing (non-instanced) for social fun , and showing off our treasures
—something original for end game besides 1-3 hour dungeon grinding.
—to feel like after im leveled and geared that i am powerful and find loads of treasures.
—frequent events and holiday fun.

Crafting in GW2 allows you to “exchange gold for exp”, and for a legendary. If there were no shop to buy gems for real money, perhaps crafting would be more useful and meaningful, like in old school games.

Crafting in GW2 is not fun!

in Crafting

Posted by: lisamee.2408

lisamee.2408

To answer some of the questions: I have maxed a craft skill: cooking:

But i do not craft anything to sell, because selling the matts required would give me more profit than the actual selling price of the finished product.

By the time it takes to fight mobs every step of the way gathering… i’ve already made more money than i could hope for in the finished product.

So basically, crafting in this game is not even as good as “old school” crafting. I was hoping the crafting in GW2 would evolve into even more crafting fun, but instead has turned crafting into something weriod.

Crafting in GW2 is for leveling to 80, and getting your legendary.

Crafting in GW2 is not fun!

in Crafting

Posted by: lisamee.2408

lisamee.2408

Crafting in GW2 is very disappointing, meaningless, and not fun because:

—no makers mark (name of crafter) on the armour/weapons.
—no way to even view a players armour.
—the items you craft are not worth the time it takes to gather the resources, profif-wise.
—the items you craft are not superior enough in function.

I was hoping GW2 crafting would at least be as fun as some of the 15+ year old games. But its very downgraded.

Why didn’t GW2 make a game with excellent crafting? Beautiful graphics and a fun questing system are good, but there needs to be more FUN things to do in an online game.

How to make all zones more fun?

Simply this: improve on the crafting and housing of previous games (ultima online, star war galaxies).

Or at least have just as meaningful and fun crafting/housing as 15+ year old games.

All online games have improved in graphics/key strokes, but crafting and housing has been downgraded. Crafting and housing is what keeps the game fun. Its the incentive the kill monsters, to collect and show off your treasures.
