Guild Wars 1 has player housing???
Housing would add (more items), more then just gear to play for.
Open world customizable (non-instanced) housing was the best “social” game feature. Also guild vs guild wars added alot of social, especially with the freedom to have your war anywhere in the open world, so other people can watch
Guys……take a look at the ANET thread in Tech. You modify your gw2 path and it will zoom you out.
Cheers!
I read somewhere if you modify it yourself, it causes problems.
For me, if I am next to a wall, or real close to some sort of other collide-able object in the world my camera kind-of “snaps” quickly behind me. Does it zoom in when your standing in the middle of an open field?
Yes, it zooms in any area if i turn right or left.
If i turn left or right, the camera automatically zooms me in. Why can’t it stay zoomed out where i had it?
I don’t like when you rotate your camera to the left or right, it auto zooms you in. Why can’t it at least stay zoomed out where i set it?
Please tell
I can’t find any, now that the one in Southsun Cove is gone. Or maybe there will never be a rich ori anywhere?
Yes, if it includes:
—a new zone
—new quests
—new items
—continued storyline
Because getting there was much more fun !
I miss having a storyline to play, a new zone to explore, and a new quest to complete. Once you reach 80 its mostly group play in dungeons or DE’s in ORR. And the DE’s take a long time and the loot is very disappointing. So unless you love GW2 dungeons, the gameplay gets very limited for solo pve.
So yes, my first two 80’s had alot more fun getting there.

What were you doing the day (or days) prior to getting the 3 rares? Maybe your DR (diminished returns) re-set because you didn’t log in for a day or so? Maybe your DR re-set because you didn’t play in just one zone?
Or maybe you were just lucky, and getting 3 rares in one (non-dungeon) zone per eight hours is extremely rare ?
To be safer, you could get a separate credit card with limited balance for online use. Or a prepaid debit card to use only for online purchases.
If they do change it to a choice to choose from, im sure they will have at least one undesirable in the list (to make it challenging). Thats why there isn’t a choice yet, they want the players response first. GW2 tends to keep things on the challenging side for the hard core gamers.
Customizable player homes would add:
—many new items to play for! (more then just gear)
—social: more then just gear to show off.
—new items to craft (more then just gear)
—your trophies can be displayed in the world, instead of a text picture under a tab.
Anet could make tons of profit by selling decorative items in the gem shop
As you are leveling, completing zones, story line, and selling mob loot makes money. And if you want to make more, gathering ores, wood, and herbs to sell. Or find an area with creatures that are easy and fun to hunt, and just kill and sell all loots. I waited untill level 70 to craft because it was easier at that level to make enough gold to buy those ingredients that take longer to farm. Then used crafting to level from 70-80 in about an hour, so that it was easier (and more fun) to complete my level 70’s story/zones at 80
Does anyone know?
What is the purpose of this chest? Why are the players not informed?
I think this new “chest” must have been designed as another anti-bot variable…which adds yet another annoying type of gameplay.
I would make the perfect most popular game, and become rich!
It would basically be a modern version of Ultima Online, mixed with some Skyrim, and a little The Witcher, a little Spore, and lots of The Sims
All developers should play those games, and evolve a game to at least improve upon online rpgs 15+ year history.

So sorry
This is one reason i am not trying to get a legendary. Gambling is not fun for me.
All of the mobs in Southsun are too challenging for the returns you get. There isn’t even any high level herb nodes. There too many karka guarding all the resources, which makes it very unenjoyable.
Sad, because most of it is very pretty to look at. But todays mmo’s think we want extra-challenging and maze like annoying environments. Remember the good old days when you could be just be a crafter, and not have to fight any mobs to gather resources.

All it means is that your rare drops now come in chests. Green and below will still be on the critters corpse.
I’ve only gotten one chest so far and it contained a green.
My chest included a level 65 green, and i am level 80.
I’ve never even seen a chest, not even when I’m told there is one on the ground. Lag or rendering problem maybe?
Can someone tell me how big they are?
They are very small and brown. So in the dark Orr zones, you can barely see them.
When you kill an exploding risen (plague carriers) the chest does not appear for a long time after the corpse has disappeared.
Even if they did allow us to build up more gold…what are you going to buy with it? There not many items in the game.
GW2 concentrates on fixed scenarios to play such as: story lines, DE, dungeons, pvp. WvW. There no need for gold unless they introduce things such as customizable housing/guild halls, mounts……which would introduce many new items/treasures you would need gold for.
Oh with a lot of imgaination and player input I’m sure we could come up with a lot of ideas. But in order for these great things to come in place the right system needs to be set up for it first, that’s all I’m saying.
Could you include some examples of the “lots of ideas” ?
I got a blue and a green in the chest. And the chests are very hard to see sometimes, and often won’t spawn right away, so you can easily miss them

And for a little while, Orr was alive and fun to play in again.
I’m about ready for a game that does not have Diminished returns, and lets you make gold hunting and exploring the way you like. And with many items available to buy with your gold!
Did we ever get an answer about Diminished Returns in general? And how they effect normal open world game play?
Only hardcore players enjoy overly challenging dungeons, which leave alot of people out.
What do people want?
I want to be able to get the same loot drop when im out in the world killing stuff as you get in FotM and Dungeons, the same money the same Exotics everything..
Play the way you want to play..
I agree! I prefer the open world, and very much dislike the dungeons in this game. Not sure how much longer i’m going to wait and hope to “Play the way you want to play”. And i won’t play much longer if this DR is not addressed.
Is there anywhere in the open world (normal mobs) that is a good hunting spot?
nope IMO. If you try to farm in one spot for longer you will be hit by DR. It is way better to jump around the map (world even).
I have been looking all over the world….but still cannot find a good hunting spot. So if i stay in one spot too long i get less treasure, but if i don’t stay long enough i also get less treasure?
Is there anywhere in the open world (normal mobs) that is a good hunting spot?
i was excited when i read about this change .. because im always forced to play with people that are low lvl “family friends blah blah”
i spent most of yesterday running around low lvl areas most below 20 with people and i think i found only one lvl 80 item and one 76 rest was all lvl 5 to 15 crap … i dont see much of a changeIt’s not meant to give you lvl 80 loot all the time. The lower the zone you are playing in- the more DR you get on your max level loot. If not it would be possible to plow through low level zones, 2-hit mobs and get the same loot as a more difficult zone, but more efficient. If people are grinding which one would they pick? What they have done is simply tuning it up a bit, it’s not a U-turn.
There is still no “new” added benefit to playing in lower level zones. I am still getting the same amount of level specific gear i was getting before the patch…which was rarely.
(edited by lisamee.2408)
I read somewhere that after a patch the DR (diminished returns) re-sets. So you will get more of everything untill that DR# builds up again.
Since the last patch, has hunting/farming normal mobs in ORR improved? Is there more loot as compared to porous bones ?
I saw no change in the quanity or quality of level specific loot in low level areas….
Or maybe he only has one testicle?
I’m still downloading so can’t check it out yet. Anyone know the answer??
6……feet…….Tall……? He looks big in the photo?
1/28/13 patch notes Dynamic Leveling:
" It is now possible to receive your own level of loot from any level of enemy."
Does this mean a level 80 can get high level of all loot, such as crafting mats in low level areas? Or does it mean a level 80 can get level 80 gear (armour, weapons, jewelry, gems)?
I agree, the “treasures” are so disappointing i won’t do any level 80 DE’s, champs, or vets anymore.
Will new items be added? I am level 80 now, with some gold i have spent many hours making. But there is nothing i want to buy? The gem store has not had anything i wanted since starting the game. I hope new items will be added regularly?
Its a good question! In the 15+ years of online gaming, two of the most fun things to do: crafting & housing has not evolved for the better. Once developers realize this, there will be a most popular game, and someone will get rich for it
This thread is asking for the Launch Time (Anets time). Why all the long paragraphs?
Long paragraphs are the results of people trying to argue against logic. =)
So many times i feel like asking: could you please narrow this down to a few main sentences? lol
(edited by Moderator)
My hopes are that this patch will be enough new fun gameplay to last untill the next update
This thread is asking for the Launch Time (Anets time). Why all the long paragraphs?
One top flaw is not telling us the release time for an new update.
Any official word on the release time??? It would be very nice of someone to tell us.
Its just sad that old school game crafting has not evolved for the better in + 15years.
Crafting in GW2 revolves around what the company wants us to do, not what the player wants.
