@marnick
We’ll walk you through it slow, shall we?
Its a picture of gems.
GW2 has a gem store.
The continued existence of GW2 is dependent solely on gem sales.
The primary reason for making some items soulbound is to force players into buying more than one, thereby increasing Anet’s profit. That wasn’t so hard was it?
What do gems have to do with soulbound items in general? Some, like the pickaxe, yes but armor/weapons certainly no. Nobody is “forced” to use the gem store to buy essential items, like armor and weapons. The reason gear is soulbound is not to make them worthless, they are already cheap, if they weren’t bound all items would cost next to nothing – not good.
According to who? You? I, for one, wouldn’t play Guild Wars 2 if it were like its predecessor. What you call a mistake, I call a sound decision. And guess what? My opinion on the subject carries as much authority as yours.
Congratulations, you are part of the minority who was not disappointed in the false sequel.
Source? Where do you get your numbers to come to the conclusion of what the majority and the minority thinks.
I’m excited about the balance changes, maybe, a BIG maybe, I will change my signature
I recently heard they’re going to nerf cantrips again for the reason that they are still too good. They are going to change at least one to be a non stunbraker. Can someone confirm this?
If they, finally, spread Stunbreakers all over Ele skill types then I will be very happy.
They are Canthans in disguise! And the events will finish in August at the 1 year anniversary with the announcement of Cantha (not release of course)
Again, are you sure that you are quoting the right person. At no point have I said, or agreed with another’s statement, that Anet forgot anything.
The closest I have come has been to point out that it was inaccurate of Vayne to claim that one must repeatedly fail to remember something in order for it to qualify for the term forgotten.
I highly doubt that Anet has forgotten the multiplayer aspect of GW2. Of course I have not communicated directly with GW2’s content developers so it is merely an assumption on my part that they have not forgotten. But I think its a fair assumption to make all things considered.
For what it is worth the OP made no argument. He made a subjective observation of how things appeared to him. That is what the euphemism, “looks like,” essentially means in such a context.
Personally I think that the OP’s perception of the matter is inaccurate. But just because I disagree with him does not mean he should be subject to offhanded dismissal and deprecating comments.
Fair enough, I agree with you ^^
2) You don’t have to neglect to do something more than once in order for it to have been forgotten. The very first time you failed to remember to send in the rent check, even if you never made that mistake again, it was an example of having forgotten something.
So you mean just because a 10min (it’s not even 10min, it’s even shorter) instance was a solo one, suddenly Anet forgot the “Multiplayer” aspect of MMO? How tragic.
I said nothing of the sort. Did you mean to quote someone else ?
All I said on the matter of forgetting something was that Vayne was mistaken in his claim that the word forget only applies to repeated instances of forgetfulness.
I was quoting you, read the OP’s quote again you clearly didn’t, although you defend it for some obscure reason. The OP used the word “forgot” while his reasoning behind Anet actually forgeting something wasn’t as good as he might’ve thought. You can’t say Anet forgot “multiplayer”, as the OP very very clearly claimed, if your only basis is a 10min instance that is not doable with multiple people….
Vayne said: “In order for Anet to have forgotten about it, they have to not done it more than once.” The OP needed far more than just that to back his claim, his point/argument was weak to begin with.
2) You don’t have to neglect to do something more than once in order for it to have been forgotten. The very first time you failed to remember to send in the rent check, even if you never made that mistake again, it was an example of having forgotten something.

Looks like they forgot about the “Multiplayer” aspect of MMO.
I wonder if they realize how annoying it is to sit there with your friends, partner, family, etc, each playing the living story instances alone?
Why are these not scaleable instances like the personal story, or dungeons?
You want to do a 10 minute (maybe 5 minute) super easy instance with a group? What for?
Just wait, the Aetherblades are actually Canthans, when they learned about Dragon bash, they came along to ruin it….
Still better than Crap Toss daily..
I would have to agree here. Fortunately, they “fixed” both the Moa Race and the Dragon Ball arena, can you imagine if only ONE player won in those like in Crab Toss? Who had that brilliant idea?
The Holos aren’t taking much time now, most people rushed and did the achievements, so now they are just sitting there.
I still wonder, who had the bright idea to add more pinatas/effigies needed for the achievement, than those available in game, so unless you have multiple characters (or wait, or guest) you can’t finish those achievements.
Is WvW any better? Or is it still boring? I used to play DAoC, and it was great fun – GW2 did not feel like DAoC at all unfortunately.
Thank you for any feedback.
WvW is a lot different to how it was before.
There is World Exp now and you get WvW ranks while you play, fortunately almost everything you do to help your server win will give you xp. With each rank you get ability points to spend on different “skills”, there is no skill that gives a direct advantage over other players but, there are skills that give extra abilities to siege weapons, skills that let you deal more damage to Guards/Lords or even let you carry more supply.
There was a siege yesterday when a group of 20+ attacking a tower, for some reason they forgot to destroy the oil (the Tower was undefended), so one person got in there and with the help of a max 4 others wiped them all – it was fun. WvW skills are great, those Arrow Carts are particularly deadly.
With every rank you get, there is a chest reward, high chance of a greens, lower of rare, I think there is a chance for exotic in there but never got one. You also get badges in the chest.
Badges drop like crazy now. Back in the day players were farming the Jumping Puzzles to get the Badges they needed. Those days are long gone, doing a typical WvW season with lots of combat will net you far more badges than running the JP, which is a great change. They are no longer called Badges of Jumping.
Badges can be used to buy new gear, WvW gear now has multiple stats, not only Soldier (P/V/T), also, there is almost every possible karma gear skin available with Badges. So you don’t miss those skins if you don’t PVE.
Other changes include the removal of Culling, changes to the Outmanned buff (when your numbers are fewer than the opposition), it has been changed so your armor is not getting damaged when you die (explore freely), break out events help servers on the losing side get a Tower, traps offer some strategy, negating stealth or removing supply from enemies.
They added more Dailies to WvW, which means you can easily get your laurels/dailies by doing just WvW, no need to go PVE for Laurels anymore. They added a Laurel vendor in WvW that offers items with a discount in Laurels (but added a Badge cost)
Top tier servers and bottom tier servers have problems/issues with WvW, top have huge zergs, bottom are getting stomped when paired with higher ones. Those in the middle have a much better WvW experience, in my opinion. The most important thing is to identify good commanders, they make all the difference.
Defeating 20+ people with just 5 is a blast
(edited by maddoctor.2738)
I’m searching hard in your post to find anything useful/meaningful, you know suggestions how to “fix issues” or what exactly is wrong, discussing/identifying problems… there is none. What’s your point exactly?
Never once there was just one the most optimal teambuild everyone player unlike in GW2.
Which is this amazing optimal “teambuild” in GW2?
And the fact that lower ranked teams usually lost to higher rated teams in mirror matches.
It’s funny how in lots of tournament matches (team) you will find mirror builds being used (or very close) and the ones who are just using the build they found on the net are getting stomped very easily to those who know their build better, exactly what was happening in GW1…. I don’t see how this “fact” of yours doesn’t apply to GW2 as well, maybe you didn’t run any tournaments or something
2. GW1 is an mmo. In GW1 you always have to play with other people. There is no way around it (except for some solo farms). In GW2 you are basicly running around solo in an open world or you’re zerging something without even knowing who everyone is. So what’s the real mmo here?
Actually no.
GW1 is not an MMO. It is a CORPG. And in 95% of the game you never had to play with other people because of the henchmen and later on heroes.
Good luck trying to do the dungeons in GW2 on your own. (Or the big meta-events for that matter)Yea, you start a vanilla gw1 account and beat proph with hench only and then come back here and spout this kitten.
I found the Henchies of Doom to be more reliable than most players.
Exactly… especially when there were so many people running silly builds with no purpose. A problem that existed just because the game had so much choice.
More choice doesn’t mean more viable choice, it’s the opposite
No I was Commander.
I’ll give you the best 5 GW2 WvW players out there and match them against 20 mindless zergers and make them fight on a clear field. I wonder which side will win.
You mean that in GW1 the 5 best players could win against 20 mindless zergs? That’s very far from the truth.
Yes, and I one conquested the whole Stonemist Castle on my own.
True story. And I quit WvW because of the repetitive and boring gameplay.
HA and GvG spvp modes were more skillful and enjoyable for my taste.
HA and GvG not repetitive? You weren’t playing those much if you say that.

I did beat vanilla gw1 without ever entering a party, it wasn’t hard.
I was only a GvG player back then and was only doing pvp (and mostly GvG) when I first started GW1 and so was my entire guild, I had to solo my way to beat the game.
Both Proph and Factions only using Henchies, it was fun.
Only part I didn’t do was UW and FoW, because you couldn’t take Henchies there, I had to wait until Nightfall to try it, I “beat” UW for the first time after Nightfall was released lol

Gw1 Never gave a classs Stealth to Monopolize the class and game balance.
What? I see a Thief hater here, go play a Thief before making such claims. Unless you are joking of course.
Gw1 Never practiced Favoritism or Favored a class for the sake of Pride, Selfish Gain and Grandiosity.
Really? That’s why every solo UW farmer was using one class, that’s why most GvG were using a very specific group proposition. I guess the Paragons weren’t the least bit non-favored in PVP, and Assassins weren’t the least bit Anet’s Favored class in PVE. Nope, it was balanced, hahahahahaha complete joke.
Gw1 Never Assaulted their players with Infraction for not agreeing with their views and their decisions on class balance.
They didn’t have forums back then. Still, they ignored what people were asking for, balance wise. How many YEARS did it take them to “fix” the Elementalist? 6 years? Very fast balancing indeed!
Gw1 Never had server crashes and laggings on going for almost 1 year.
Um, it did. While GW2 isn’t as stable as GW1, that doesn’t mean GW1 never crashed either. Also, don’t try to compare the amount of server capacity needed for both games. It should be obvious that GW2 is a lot harder on the server than GW1 (which didn’t strain the server at all)
Gw1 Never ignored Balance mechanic for their classes.
Are you trolling? There is no more imbalanced game than GW1
Gw1 Never pitted classes over another class for the sake of Elitism and Pride
I guess that’s why all DoA HM groups were Ritualists
No elitism in GW1 for sure.
Hahaha
He can ask for whatever he wants though. It’s his problem if he doesn’t find anyone to play with.
You mean, there aren’t enough people to fit his criteria? I think his chances of getting a group are very very high
Dungeon Master: you have to do each dungeon exactly once, instead of doing a single dungeon one hundred times.
World completition: you have to do each area once, instead of doing the same thing over and over.
Yes. Now, if only they would make these repeatable, especially the Dungeon Master… make it repeatable, add substantial reward (chest like the final chest in Lost Shores, or even better) and suddenly dungeons will be full of life again. Even story modes. It worked in Guild Wars 1 with the story/dungeon books, it could easily work in Guild Wars 2.
World Completion could be repeatable as well, and offer great rewards too, no the current reward is plain idiotic. Great for your first character, but after that how many gifts of exploration someone could possibly need over their entire time in the game?
In addition to the above, another high reward for anyone that does every single jumping puzzle, filling again and again the whole “Jumping Puzzles” achievement page
IMHO, running around in Lion’s Arch for hours pressing F
That’s only if you want that achievement NOW, you DO know that you have an entire month to do those. Hitting F a few times per day while you are waiting for a fotm group, while chatting with guildies or waiting to form a dungeon team can be fun
Dungeon rewards should be based on how well explored the dungeon is. Speed runs should get a smaller reward.
I love the infallible logic bad players like to use…
Yeah, being punished for being a good player, that sounds fair.
While we’re at it, people that run a marathon the fastest should be shunned and the fat kids that finish last should be hailed.
SPEED RUNS ARE A EXPLOIT
Only if exploits are involved. Everything else is just skill, experience and perhaps bad dungeon design.
No skill in running past a mob. Truly skilled players will challenge every enemy in their way and get all the loot.
Truly skilled players avoid mobs that takes too much time but reward nothing, so they go faster to where the reward is.
2 solutions:
1. Make all mobs in dungeons normal mobs, and some veterans maybe, just like the Molten Facility and Fractals, the only dungeons that it’s “worth” killing the trash mobs, at least on lower levels for Fractals, since at higher levels they have more hit points than champions, but loot is the same.
2. Increase the rewards of the silver mobs, so they reward <something> for the time you lose killing them
I much prefer option 1 to be honest and I think the whole praise of the Molten Facility and Fractals got, when they were first released, is a clear indication on how all dungeons should be like.
really? you can stun the Moas….ahahahahahaha, is any of the content released with this patch not a bugfest or exploitable?
Anet, hire some QA people please.
I doubt that you could do it any better.
There are plenty of people that can do it better. Within very short periods of time almost all the content in every patch is broken by someone. ArenaNet shouldn’t ban the people using food in Dragonball or stunning moas, they should hire them.
You mean those who found out the “secret/exploit” first, because the vast majority finds out about the exploits afterwards and then use it themselves, those people wouldn’t do any good.
Could it be that this is the Scavenger hunt for the Precursor? Looking for all those caches around the game to forge your own precursor?
My itunes works fine. I don’t understand what’s wrong.
Edit: WAIT
You mean to tell me..
That there is a folder…
that you can put your.. own… songs.. into!!?!?!??!!!1one
No but you can put playlists in your Documents/Guild Wars 2/Music folder and use proper names then the game will use those playlists instead of the default playlists. You can edit/create your playlists with your favorite media player.
If you are talking about sweetfx-enabled pictures… the in-game screenshot key won’t capture them, the pictures will appear default instead of sweetfx-enabled. But, if you have sweetfx, pressing PrintScreen will take pictures in your game folder, that are using SweetFX, so they are the same as what appears on screen.
It puzzled me at first when the game couldn’t use SweetFX when taking pictures, but the solution is easy.
A letter to the balance team:
“Rock is overpowered
Paper is fine
Yours, Scissors”
My thoughts on their “balancing” are in my signature.
But to stay on topic, no I don’t think the balancing patch will be today, we will only get half the Dragon Bash, the other half will either be bugged, unplayable or will be reserved for a later date
Since the devs love open world, and are focusing on the open world mostly, what they need to do is fix their scaling algorithms. Instead of scaling big bosses by increasing hitpoints/damage, they should implement fun/different/unique ways of scaling.
Example with the Karka Queen: how about making her teleport to camps in 2 minutes then reset if not hit, therefore, requiring people to split on all camps to kill her. The amount of camps she can teleport to increases with the number of people, ~10 people then she won’t teleport, 20 people then she might teleport to one camp, 40+ 2 camps, 60+ 3 camps, etc
Find ways to split players instead of attacking the same mass of hit points
PvE problem is that loot is kitten and bosses are too easy. You go auto attack some dragon down, get rare, use salvage kit and get ecto. Then you go and do it again, again, again and again. After while this could get boring.
Bosses aren’t always “too easy”, their problem is the amount of players…. The game can scale well up to a certain point but after that it’s just, press 1, go afk, collect your loot. Events can’t scale forever,, if the only aspects of a boss that scale are hit points/damage/number of adds… after a point hit points need to stop increasing, while damage also needs to have an upper cap.
What is needed, is a way to split the players and not having 100+ attacking the same foe. Of course scaling events this way is a lot harder than just increasing hitpoints/damage.
Try the karka Queen with 10 people, it’s a fun event. Try ANY guild bounty with 10 people, again a lot of them are challenging enough. Hell, try the Fire Elemental with 5 people… quite challenging boss, or at least it used to be when we were doing it with 5 people, now it might have been nerfed.
(edited by maddoctor.2738)
Always use Point Pride or Pearl Islet waypoint to get to Southsun, they are never contested.
But yes, it’s a serious bug/issue that needs fixing
You do realize you could do GvG matches without rating right?
That’s why I’m making this discussion. What do you think GvG should reward then? If not a rank/rating to make your guild stand out? Why play GvG then?
- Will we see some new ascended items coming in this update ?
- will we see fractal 40 and higher awarding other types of ascended gear besides rings ?
- will we see fractals provide tokens which can be traded for my choice of fractal skin ?
Doubt it
no chance
no chance
Anet has given up on Fractals, they saw the mostly positive and amazing reaction of the community towards fractals when they were first released and then forgot about them completely. Now it’s all about the Living Story and open world rewards
A lot of people around these forums, and in game, are asking for GvG to come back, a pvp game mode from the original Guild Wars. Do you think that the addition of GvG will benefit Guild Wars 2?
In the first game, Guild vs Guild was highly competitive in nature, which goes against the casual feel of Guild Wars 2. To be in a “proper” GvG team, you had to actually be better than others in your guild, you actually earned your spot there. In GW2 every time someone is giving advice as to how to make their build better, how to become better players or, shocking, which gear is superior to the one people are using, they flag you as an elitist.
The typical: “Hey I want to play how I want, don’t tell me how to play, go away elitist jerk”, even though their build is so obviously flawed compared to other possible combinations….
Which might not hurt anywhere else, except maybe in dungeon speedruns?, but in a competitive format like GvG, all players would try to use their very best/optimal build.
Even more so if GvG comes with a rating for guilds, but without it why bother? GvG would cause guilds to compete to each other and when a loss comes, the guild will start pointing fingers, then players we be excluded from playing (because they are “weak”) and only the “pros” will continue playing, so as not to damage the guild’s rank/rating.
If they ever added GvG in GW2 what would happen to all these guilds that are playing “for friends” and hate any idea of instanced content because it will exclude members of the guild when they do their runs. GvG will exclude them even more, because the actual team size would be a small percentage of the guild population, and, if the same system as in GW1 is implemented, you wont’ be able to run with multiple teams effectively.
So, while Guild vs Guild might be a good addition for a game called Guild Wars, after all, it’s in the name, some serious consideration must be taken before adding it.
Some questions to be answered:
What would the rewards be?
Arena/sPVP format or something in WvW maybe?
Guild Rating/ranking?
A lot of people are asking for GvG, but do you really think it will benefit Guild Wars 2?
<made a new thread on it>(edited by maddoctor.2738)
@maddoctor, definitly your are wrong. sorry
when you respe, you change the lines you assign points, because it s a new build, not only a little change to the current one.
and yes, in gw1 you can load/save your build everywhere in all the cities.
That is the way to go for gw2.
I paid the book, i don t want to pay more… but people seems to be ok by paying taxe…
kitten deal but … okbut note is more expensive that 3 silver. Imagine i m a at Arah entrance, we need a tank, i have one good build but not equiped.
i must waypoint to Lion’arch 3,50 silver + paid the bill 3,50 + return to arah 3,50
—> 10,50 silver just for respec
no, it suxxx sorry.
Maybe you are talking about another game because as I explained, in the game called Guild Wars 2 you dont’ have to -ever- respec to be good in doing any kind of content. That is, if you find a good overall build, I play all professions and I never, ever, respec them, unless I want to try a new build, then if I like it more, it becomes my next awesome build. Why do you feel such a need to respec all the time? And you do know that in Guild Wars 2 there is no tank…
Just making a good build that you can fight in all situations by changing your major traits is enough, and certainly doable. The rest comes by tweaking your utilities and changing your weapon sets, something impossible to do in GW1, there you were restricted and locked in one skillbar during your entire adventuring time, had to return back to town, in some cases very far away, in order to respec and then you couldn’t get back into the action, oh no, you had to go through the entire zone again.
The way they did it in GW2 is far superior than in GW1, adding a -nearly non existant- fee for that privilege isn’t something extreme.
As I said, they need to add separate WvW builds, allow save/load, and respec anywhere and it’s perfect.
What is a super silgl of night? I have no idea what that item is
Since it says “super” it must be from SAB, like the super skins
That’s why people tend to have more than one character in the same profession. But I do agree. We should allow to save 2 or 3 templates and switch between them.
Does these guys really exists ? i never seen one guy reroll the same character just to have a different build/stuff in Guild Wars… and from other mmo, it’s very rare.
We need to catch and immortalize the guild wars 1 spirit … actually on the way to be sacrified
You DO remember that in Guild Wars 1 you had to be in a city/outpost to change your skills and reallocate your trait points? It was a far more restricted system than in Guild Wars 2
Disagree. ANY town allowed you to change not only your skills, but your trait spec as well. In this game, I can change my skills anywhere, but depending on my location I could end up traveling halfway across the world to change my trait spec. I can’t just run to beetletun and switch out my traits.
You can change your major traits anywhere you want without any kind of restriction. The only respec you have to pay for, is changing how many points you have on each trait line. You can certainly make your build in a way that you have your “best/favorite” trait points for any situation, then only play with your major traits to suit your needs.
On a serious note – I thought that Fotm should offer an ever increasing difficulty. Pardon my ignorance on this subject, is that not working like it should?
If by ‘increasing difficulty’ you mean ‘more and more spawns with more and more health that do more and more damage, but are about as interesting to beat as a wet sock’, then you guessed correct.
If by ‘increasing difficulty’ you mean ‘stronger mobs not because of increased healthbars, but by better and interesting mechanics’ you guessed wrong.
Also, the reason people don’t like to do Fractals anymore is because it’s about as rewarding as blowing a hobo. You’re not going to enjoy it, and you’re definitely not going to get payed in the end.
Got it, thanks for the detailed answer.
There was a post in the Dungeons forums where some people “complained” that the Underwater fractal boss (jellyfish beast) was way too easy and boring fight. The Dev answered: “Wait until you get at the higher levels and you will see”
I must say, even at fotm level 80 it is ridiculously easy/boring unless the Dev was talking about level 100 or something (which doesn’t exist yet)
I think ANet is trying to make content that appeals to the elite. They did in GW1, they’re trying to do so here. Look at FotM, the AC revamp, rewrites of mob mechanics for the Krait and the Risen, scaling revamp in Orr events. Most of these changes have produced backlash from players claiming the changes made that aspect of the game “too hard.” Yet, these changes have not floated the boats of those asking for challenge. Why?
Why? Because they forgot to increase the rewards along with the difficulty. Why should I do the events with the new Risen/Krait if I get the same rewards as doing an event in Queensdale? It’s total nonsense.
I’m ok with making content harder and more challenging, but increase the rewards to compensate! It doesn’t make any sense to me that a level 48 fractal has far worse drops than a level 12 and it takes a lot more time to complete.

You DO remember that in Guild Wars 1 you had to be in a city/outpost to change your skills and reallocate your trait points? It was a far more restricted system than in Guild Wars 2
You DO know that in Guild Wars 2 you can change your skills anywhere you want (out of combat), which means you have access to all your skills at any given time. Weapon swapping is also free (which changes your 5 first skills) while your utilities can be changed at any given time. Major traits can also change on the fly.
I don’t see any issues, you mean when you are in a dungeon you are using a completely different than when you are out doing events? Why? Pick the best build for anything and problems solved, you won’t have to respec any more, unless you want to TRY a new build, there is no reason to change your build all the time. And for that reason only, to try new builds, the fee is fine, it is so low that you can say it doesn’t exist.
The only exception is WvW, usually WvW builds can be completely different to dungeon/pve builds. A way to use a different build in WvW would be fine, but not anywhere else.
Tl;dr: Be careful what you are asking for OP, GW1 had a far far far more restricted respec system than GW2, we seriously do not need it.
Edit: Templates, and respecing wherever you want would also be nice, build save/load is a feature that has been promised a long long time ago, but still it’s not here yet
The issue exists mostly with Missions in Southsun Cove, which is overpopulated and full of overflows, there is a Bounty, a Rush and a Challenge there, which means if you are doing lots of different missions in a day, there is a good chance you will get one in Southsun Cove, and fail. The system should be flexible enough, to exclude certain zones, when they are used in the Living Story for example.
A smaller issue is with the World Bosses (akitten free rare bosses) some of them cause overflows (usually Jormag and Shadow Behemoth, sometimes others too) which cause problems with Guild Missions.
Any possible solutions to the above issues? One possible solution is to make the system aware of when there is an overflow or not, in order to exclude missions that happen in overflowed zones. Or, at the very least, exclude the Missions that are taking place in current Living Story zones (Southsun Cove atm)
Yes it’s one of those topics again.
I’m sorry but this just got ridiculous and needs to be addressed asap.
Not even a single rare from lv 30.
Is this working as intended?lol 48 ain’t better. maybe we should just idle for 3 minutes a day at a world boss while browsing facebook for better loot eh?
That’s how “pros” get their loot around here
I want to add only one thing about the petrification thingy. If you have stability and you get the debuff you won’t be petrified but the effect will still be there, if your stability ends before the debuff you will end up petrified…
Not to mention the fact that Anet has ruined orr, given us a crap load of Temp content just to remove it and now after all these months what do we get , 1 new world boss, for what? 1 rare a day? YAY!!! Sarcasm if you didn’t get that.
You are WRONG! The new world boss will give 2 RARES instead of 1! And they will even add a vendor that spawns ONLY if you do the new World Boss event, he will take Karka Shells as currency for unknown, but I’m sure they will be amazing, items! 200000 karka shells for one of them! Amazing, no?
If it were up to me, I’d make the dungeon harder, so you couldn’t just run it casually before bed. Obviously the experience has spoiled some people.
Unfortunately making the game so easy that people do activities and are 100% they will get their rewards, creates people like the OP that do not want to change their routine.
2. There are pay to win items.
Yes this is minor, but their presence is a serious pain. I count rez orbs, repair toolkits and upgrades, I might be missing some. Repair tools are essential in high level fractals as they allow you to avoid the one thing (theoretically) that can prevent you from completing a fractal level: armor breaking. Rez orbs feel awkward, but upgrades are a straight pay to win incentive! The fact that they are minor do not take away anything.
Rez orbs aren’t very useful in dungeons, in fact having one usually doesn’t matter at all. Repair canisters are totally useless in any dungeon, in fractals you do know you can go outside, repair, then go back in right? Even if you are the one who started the instance.
You forgot some facts:
A) You can convert gold to gems, you don’t have to pay for anything
B) You can get lots and lots of those items by playing the game, they are not strictly gem store content
C) You P2W using those items against who? Win against who?
I proposed a long time ago, to make Ascended Rings and Fractal Skins “Party Bound”, so until you exit FotM, party members will be able to distribute them among themselves. I’m sick and tired of getting the skin my friends want, and they get the skin I want and we can’t exchange between ourselves. Since they are account bound there is no way to get a skin “to sell to others” or salvage the items for ectos, there is absolutely no benefit for getting a skin/ring that you don’t want, they will only take up bank space.
“Party bound” Rings and Skins, maybe only skins at first, is the answer to RNG. Anet needs to stop punishing guildies/friends doing dungeons together, I’m happy they make the life of randoms good with everything in this game, but some quality of life improvement for groups of friends/guildies is needed.
