For D/P I personally go full zerker (power/precision/critdmg%). Others would say a mix of zerker and knights(power/precision/toughness) and maybe Valk (power/vit/critdmg%). A really easy way to get full zerker gear over a bit of time is to learn Citadel of Flame path 1 and 2. You will make good money if you use %gold food. The marks can be spent on zerker armor and weapons. The money you can use to buy from TP or craft accessories. You can run path 1 and 2 multiple times a day, I’d say 3 of each per day max for me. That will net you well over 200 tokens/marks a from quest rewards and blue bag drops.

For the very short term, if you want that play-style just buy full green berserker gear off the TP. You will probably be surprised at how well it can do especially compared to your current setup. Someday you can use transmutation stones to skin your current armor on to whatever you end up with so you can keep the look.

I have some karma I could use too. Buy the sets with P/T/V-stats?

Its 8 gold total, and 88 silver But yeah, thats the most money ive used on anything, lol :p

It has precision, thoughness and condition damage on all the sets.

Maybe I would be better off having a venom-build then?

I’ve been WvW’ing for about a week, and I find it pretty awesome.

One thing tho, I find it hard to kill almost anything with my D/P setup (when I’m 1vs1-ing for an example).

I cant play so much, therefore I dont have so much gold, as you can see from what gear I’m using (full whisper with beryl-orbs).

Is the armor really sucky compared to the others (P/V/T) you get at Orr?

I know I need to get me some new jewelry, as I only got some lvl 70-stuff, and the strong back brace you get at lvl 5 or something, lol. (Will it help out a lot for me to get some better jewelry?)

And I’ve soon saved up 30-ish laurels, so think I’m gonna buy something from the vendor, was thinking about a better backpiece maybe, or anything else you guys would recommend?

As for my traits i use 0/30/30/10 (see attached image).

I just want to share my opinion on one thing; the topic says it all really.

I play with several characters, some more than others. I see no reason to not have karma spread out to all of your characters? The character I have played the most have (surprisingly) most karma, and Ive spent hours of hours collecting them. If I want to use my hard spent karma on another character, why shouldnt I?

I started reading the guide from eveningstar, but I fell off after a while. So much to take in! Sorry evening..

Was wondering if any one of you could be so kind to write just a little to get me started?
What I am after is to what weapons I should start lvl’ing with, (was thinking GS(?)) where to put my trait points and what skills to obtain first.

What I am after as in playstyle is to be a supportive guardian, helping other ppl doing dungeons easier etc.

From what I remember from the write-up from eveningstar is that a good Guardian should utilize all weapons, but that will come later after I feel more confident in this class

I have a LVL 75 thief and a 73 necro. From a thief’s point of view, I am used to dodging, so I may not need a “bunker” build, since I like to move around on the battlefield and not just stand static.

To answer my own question, I would say: YES YES YESSS! My main in GW1 was a Dervish, with the obsidian armor. Rocked!

Hi ppl!

I’ve been doing Ascalonian Catacombs for a while, since I find it a good way to lvl, and to have fun with other players.

Anyway, I now soon have enough Tears to buy me a full exotic AC armor, but I really dont like the way it looks on my Necro or Thief.

So, should I use the tears for something else, or just take the armor and transmute it to something I like? If the stats are good.

Can that be justified?

I had a lvl 60-ish Sylvari necro, and has become more fond of the charr lately.
So I made a charr Necro, and boy, he looks awesome with his horns, all demon-like :p
I know the light armors for charrs aint the best, but Ive seen some pics of some necroes beeing really cool if you mix it up a little.

Thanks for all the answers guys, I still havent managed to log in to the game yet (too much going on in my “real” life).

Seems like not much have been fixed in terms of bugs, but Im a fan of the “underdog”-classes, so I might just keep on lvl’ing him I’m doing manly PvE anyways, and after what I read its mediocre at that, and that is totally fine for me.
Gonna hit WvWvWvW after a while as well, see how that goes

Hi! I played this game at launch, and lost interest because the necro was bugged.
Is it fixed or at least better now? DL the game tonight, and I’m excited starting again. Maybe even make a new one from scratch (mine is lvl 50-ish).
