Oh man the lag abusers are back. This is really the worst combination. Arenanet get your servercode fixed god kitten it. Skill lag was horrible yesterday with the masses of french 1 spammers.

I´ve been a spectator of this match and spectators of ZD did rezz their team mates. There happened a lot of strange things to be honest. ZD had a lot of spectators and on one time during the match when ZD was running through their spectators, after that there were magically less people standing on the hill. So did they log off, run elsewhere or did they participate in the gvg ? Who knows. I was shocked to be honest to see such lack of sportsmanship from a guild with that reputation like ZD.

But on the other hand tricking a guild in a gvg that they not wanted by using a fake tag is also, well, at least not very much gentlemenlike you know. Why can´t you accept when somebody is saying “no thanks, not this time” for whatever reason ? You are complaining about foul play from ZD and played foul yourself to some extent.

The stat boost, while controversial, is there to give the buff meaning in the context of the general WvW battle. Providing boosts like %WXP, etc. don’t have impact in fights against other sides, they are just a nice bonus for you. The stat boost and the points for finishing players mean that not only do you want to have the buff, but you don’t want your opponents to have it.

You could have made it easily in a way that the buff is contributing to points or points gain. The fact that you made it a stat buff proves that you did not learn from the orb´s . Very unfortunate that anet is so resistant to learn from previous failures.

I have never seen or heard that happen.

The hostility against GvG is coming from a few different things.

First, some believe that GvG´ers are filling up the maps without contributing. Since all Guilds that do GvG are also doing WvW this is clearly wrong. The guild i am in is also doing GvG and before and after the matches we raid normaly, capture towers / camps etc. So we are contributing most of the time.

Second and that´s imo the biggest issue. GvG guilds are hardcore wvw players and GvG guilds are a strong force on the battlefield. Sometimes they wipe enemy zergs even when they are outnumbered by far. Then people get frustrated and while they can´t do anything on the field against them they come to the forums crying about how “elitist” they are and that GvG is ruining their fun. The main hostility imo comes in short from one thing and that´s jealousy.

It`s funny enough, that it is always the same 10-15 guys telling anybody else how special their GvG community and efforts is. I don`t have to be part of what I can see is clearly not PvP (maybe an infants version of it). Thanks to free "visitor"s access at the mill, youtube & twitch there`s plenty of opportunity to watch your performance even first person plus audio, hence the player`s mechanics as well – summary: nothing to be proud of, nothing to be called competitive, nothing to see there, really.

Oh man those BUKA guys. They are really the utter most ridiculous trolls. What they call small scale is going like this. One or two of them are running after a squad keeping the people at the end in fight. They do that unless the commander / leader has enough of that nonsense and is turning around wiping them. Then they come back and the whole thing repeats. That´s what they call pvp.

You guys have absolutely no idea what you are talking about when it comes to gvg or large scale battles in an organized environment. So since you are germans, some very wise words for you “Wenn man keine Ahnung hat, einfach mal Fresse halten”.

Why should that be an exploit ? This worked for ages and also as long as such stupid thing like invisible stomping is in the game, a shroud stomp is really less of an issue.

Xephs first post was a “good bye” post, so if that is against the forum rules, then be it so and the deletion was legit. But in that case somebody very well known in the community did it, plus somebody who defended the game on many occasions. So you could easily decide in that case not to delete the thread but simply close it.. That would have saved you a lot of work and maybe it would have saved you writing this post.

The second post of Xeph was one were he in a very constructive way explained his concerns about the game. Also this post got deleted. Even a Dev responded to it stating that he does not understand why Xeph´s first post got deleted. The deletion of this thread was pure capriciousness and the most ridiculous act of moderation i have ever seen on this forum. It makes you look like you simply can not stand criticism even when it is written in a constructive way. The moderators should be ashamed abusing their permissions in such a way.

I really hope that you change your moderation policy in a way that legit posts do not get ninja deleted anymore. To hush up problems does not solve them, you can not shut up people as you have learned in the past few days

He said something about toning down condition output of some classes in general but he did not mention necros or any other class specifically .

What came into my mind when i heared the questions from the audience was that maybe the people and their question were preselected by Anet so, they can make sure that nobody comes up with a question they feel uncomfortable with or that would be too critical. That would at least explain why all the questions were about living story, rp, or lore. Or in other words aspects of the game where it is in good shape more or less.

That doesn´t matter at all because as much as a lagfest wvw is in this tier, the greatest lag abuser blob´s will win. SFR or VIZ have equal skill in that with one exeption maybe. Have you ever fought in larger group than 5 ? Have you ever heard of focusing damage on one point ? Necros have to have the same timing as everybody else to bring the damage on point, on time. The rest of your statements about the necro i leave uncommented because you have made very clear that you have neither the experience nor an idea what a necromancer can do in large scale fights.

allthough that 1v1 footage does not mean anything. Despite that balancing in gw2 is as bad as it is, it is clearly not balanced for 1v1. In situations where people try to get to their zergs, have builds that are for large scale fight´s etc. etc. , it´s like lambs in the slaughterhouse. But does that make the video less entertaining , hell no ^^

I must’ve missed the part where he said it was pve only that is my mistake. However condition isn’t too good in pve either unless you are the only condition person in your team since there are stack limits for bleed and burning doesn’t stack in intensity.

Some great ideas here but don´t expect too much. GW2 is a PvE game and that´s the only game mode Arenanet delivered their promises. Look at SPvP or look at WvW what has been said and what has been done, cough E-Sports cough, i can´t stop laughing. Also look what happens if you are starting to criticize too much:

There is so much work to do, equalizing the zerg, commander functionality, character progress, performance, evolution of wvw maps etc. etc. But all Arenanet does is promising and stopping people to talk about it. Let´s face it WvW is maybe rank twenty on the list they want to touch in this game.

Oh man, thankfully i´ve not read such ignorant posts like from the OP very often. Do you really think that your playstyle is the only one in wvw ? If you want to play for points go ahead and do it but don´t come to the forums crying when other people have different thoughts what fun is. Actually, some big guilds have done that @ Gandara in the past, they divided a rather sizable guild group into 2 groups instead of just mindlessly steamrolling around and everyone had more fun, on both enemy and friendly side as there was no silly skill lag and blobbing. Please think first and then write.

4 × 5 over 4 maps, the other two groups need to do PvE and be substitutes for when one of the active groups gets tired!

Awesome idea, but i would send the remaining two groups to the mists for SPvP so they can at least simulate small scale WvW
