In all honesty? Try and get a seasoned player who knows CM and take as much advise from him/her. There are elements within CM that is vastly different from AC (which is another popular starter dungeon). You will learn to appreciate things like pulling, stacking, LOS etc. You will start giving some skills a chance, which you would never would in a normal PvE environment in the overworld.

are you mesmer or ranger?
in our group these two classes still dont have the achievement with over 200 fractals completed, so we assume that illusions/minions/pets trigger the achievement aswell.
we didnt wanted to test that theory further though…

My Fotm runner is a mesmer (Phantasm/Glamour Build). Got this achievement at the 70ish Fractual mark but I can’t remember the circumstances exactly. I wasn’t actively trying for the achievement when I got it. I was spamming my illusions though.

It depends on what are you farming for. For gold (purely), all dungeons payout generally the same. Sub-bosses drop 10 silvers, last boss drops 15 silvers, completion gives 26. So to be more efficient, choose the ones that are quicker like AC and CoF. Don’t be too fast as to finish 5 within 2 hours though

I think what most ppl will do now is: Get Cliffside on first Fractual, reset.

What is ironic is that, Cliffside will now have a higher probabillity of appearing for the 2nd and even more for the 3rd since Fractuals can’t repeat. I seriously doubt the spawning of mobs during the fight, when he is not dazed, is intended.

I at no time said RNG is difficult. I asked about difficult alternatives.

mosspit, even if that’s not a suggestion you care to put in the suggestions forum, thank you for taking the question seriously. And I do see that as presenting a viable alternative that isn’t guaranteed, but should most of the time alleviate frustration over time.

More generally, although it also addresses something that Parthis wrote:
Linsey Murdock: “We designed the process of getting Legendary gear to be a long term goal, but players were ready to start on that path much sooner than we expected”
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/linsey-murdock-unveils-new-high-end-ascended-gear/

It really wouldn’t be so grindy if people didn’t have to have a legendary right now. You’d have to make an effort to do dungeons, WvW, karma, etc., but it’d be over time. There’d still be a luck component, and you wouldn’t be guaranteed to get anything. You’d have to spend more time in particular areas, but given the appeal of this game as something that’s not supposed to be a grind-fest, I wouldn’t blame Anet for thinking that the people attracted to that wouldn’t then go non-stop grinding to get a legendary in as little time as possible.

I am not really “serious” in it. I am biting because it is interesting.

With regards to Lindsey comments, yes there are gamers who got their legendaries way ahead of time. However, you must consider the circumstances at which these people got their early legendaries. The early phase of the game has many unstable aspects. Cheap precursors, exploits, general unawareness etc. If one is able to capitalize on these opportunities they can progress in leaps and bounds in their legendary process. It is a fact. However, these do not apply to general game itself especially after the game is more or less stabilized. I am discussing the precursor on the basis when the game in a relatively stable state after early game opportunities has passed on.

Before you start bringing other aspect of creating a legendary into the picture in this discussion with me. Please note that I only interested in the precursor acquisition. I am perfectly fine with the all other components. Even lodestones.

Why precursors? It is either created in the MF or obtain via loot. Both have ridiculously low RNG. Even those available in the TP are obtained the same way (exploits aside). TP is unreliable as I have mentioned many times is a shifting goal post and it is the trigger point for developers to start looking into ways of diversifying the acquisition method.

…snip…

For all of those saying that they’re not being entitled, and not asking for something easy, suggest something that is not guaranteed and easier. Or at least be honest and say “Yes, I feel that everybody is entitled to a legendary, and that it should be far easier to get.” At least then it’s clear where you stand.

I will bite. I can offer a suggestion. My disclaimer is I have absolutely no intentions to reinforce my suggestion to be utilized. It is something more akin to an afterthought. Bear in mind that a scavenger hunt is already been suggested by the developers.

My suggestion: When throwing exotics into the MF, there is an inherent % to get a precursor. However, every time 4 exotics (for example) are thrown in, it raises the % by a small value, maybe 0.5%. There can be an upper limit to which the precursor is created, any arbitrary reasonable value. However, whenever a precursor is created, the value reset itself.

I repeat that this is more like an afterthought. Its intention to apply a progression factor in the precursor creation. Easier? I dunno. What it is certain is the suggestion tries to deviate itself from the RNG component and towards a progression system. Similar to how I predict a scavenger hunt would achieve. The progression part of it anyways.

Sorry I am unable to equate ridiculous low RNG as difficulty. I have no inclination to “admit” to anything in order to fit the mindset and label of someone else.

A good compromise would be to make Precursors a lot easier to get, but then lower the drop rates on the Clover RNG. Then those who feel entitled to easy mode will probably enjoy getting their Zap quicker.

The scavenger hunt is on the way for the precursors. The trigger for the decision for scavenger hunt, as what I can understand from the red posts, are the state of pricing of some of the precursors on the TP (due to low supply and possibly other man-made factors). More importantly, it is the rate of increase of the pricing. The shifting goalpost effect.

I merely used the Mystic Clover RNG and precursor RNG examples as a way to say that there is an acceptable RNG range. There exists a middleground. Mystic Clovers, in particular, has an inbuilt progression system. You need 77 of them and every one you get is a step closer to fulfilling the requirement. On the other hand, the Mystic Forge does not “remember” nor “care” that you have dumped in 5g or 500g into it when creating a precuror. It has no progression built within and its doubly affected by a ridiculously low RNG. I am unsure if your “entitled” is meant for me. But if it is, I don’t see why I am entitled if I am prepared to work for it.

I feel like Legendaries were made specifically for the hardcore. In which case, I’m happy where they’re at currently. I don’t feel like they were made to be accessible to everyone. If they were easier to craft, a lot more hardcore players would not have much other content to do. I don’t have my legendary yet, but I’m personally happy with how expensive and time consuming it all is. Hopefully it goes higher, and an RNG factor just makes me look @ players with legendaries and say, " holy crap, not only did you collect all the mats, but you’re also super lucky". Just adds more OMG factor whenever I see someone with one. And the fact that prices for all them go up as the amount of players increase just keeps the legendaries at that ultra- rare level. I don’t want to see 100 new twilights if there are 1000 new players. Price increase keeps it super elusive.

I think you misintrepreted the term Legendary. It doesn’t mean that it is limited to 5% of the population and gated by RNG. SImilarly, it doesn’t mean exotic is limited to 20% of the population, Rare to 40% of the population, so on and so forth.

The progress should be lengthy and demands effort from the person who wants it. But the opportunity should be open to whoever that wants to embark on the Legendary journey. That should be the gating factor and not ridiculous low RNG. Note there is a difference between Mystic CLover RNG and precursor RNG.

If you are someone who is okay with the price increase (which is essentially a shifting goalpost) and is in the process of getting a legendary, my guess is you have already at the point where the shifting goalpost effect doesn’t concern you and you want to shut the gates behind you.

Blurred Frenzy is still my answer. It mitigates the agony tick dmg.

Ill try it on my mesmer once i get the map on my mesmer. That still doesnt solve my issue if you were to play a class that doesnt have invuln skills. (For the record, it seaps through guardian aegis, and focus #5 skills). Unless of course you and I are talkin about 2 completely different encounters, then I dont even know.

I didn’t mean for it to solve the issue where you were playing a class with no invuln skills. I mean it specifically for the following:

All agony is dodgeable except for jade maw (possibly Dredge Ice elemental, i have no f’n clue how to avoid that other than outranging it).

I am giving you what I did to avoid taking dmg from the agony ticks from Ice Elemental (which happen to be the same as Dredge boss). Feel free to test it out. I used it enough times to know that it works. That is all.

However, I hope ANet will see that a good lfg tool will only help so much. The core of the problem is the progression system and sooner or later its effects will overwhelm the positive effect any lfg can possibly bring.

RNG on ascended items not a good idea. I agree. The rings are already accountbound which makes it unnecessary for it to be RNG on drop. I would accept RNG on stats tho. But impeding progress on agony resistance is just…. Btw I can avoid most if not all fractual boss agony attacks. Except for Jade Maw.

You have to hit the seal to stop the adds from replenishing in numbers. However, they will not disappear. Your party have to thin them out before the next seal hitting phase or else your party will be overwhelmed. As mentioned at higher levels, the adds will hit for alot of dmg. The only reason I got through is because my PUG party was great and they didn’t ragequit.

I just done my 20 daily and had the same problem. The boss is buggy as hell.

When he drops the hammer, immediately kill a mob, charge the hammer and hit the seal. Next use the stunbreaker and immediately have the group run to the tunnel/cave terrain on the right. Stealth is useful here. What this does, it should break the leash on the normal mobs. If you kite the boss far enough, he will teleport to a cage on the left in a passive state.

In this phase, thin down the mob before engaging the boss again. Repeat until the seal is broken.

Note that the boss is very buggy now. If you get his hp low enough, his attack will permanently be fixed into just melee and summon 2 scorpion things. He will no longer use aoe fields and the agony white light blast. You should not thin out the mob when he is dazed as the adds will replenish itself.

That are of course bad experiences. But generally, dungeons are pretty well mannered and smooth from my experience. Just take it in stride.

Which dungeon are you referring to? And also, i expect this to be nerfed. I’m not sure if its intented for the duyngeon rewards to be salvageable

Lol what? This isn’t an exploit or bug. It is just a fact of lvl 70+ dungeons that not many ppl caught onto. It is just a method of getting ectos that is completely exclusive from the TP. However, it still does require effort to run dungeons and the salvaging of rares is still governed by RNG wrt to getting ectos.

gw2lfg does help of course but it can only help so much. The “matchmaking” mechanisms is driving the dispersion in the gamer base and there will come a point where a good lfg tool will not help as the limiting factor is not the dissemination of lfg requests but the requirements of the gamers to join a dungeon in the first place.

I might be digressing a bit here but I think ascended items is kinda a bad idea. I don’t see why back items have such high mat requirements. A generic craftable exotic will just need about 5 ectos and about 15 fine mat. For an ascended back piece, one would need 50 ectos and a full stack of t6 mats. If you would farm the tokens themselves, it still doesn’t compare. For a regular dungeon, one would 390 tokens for the most “expensive” item that gives 60 tokens on a fresh run. For Fotm, you would need 1850 tokens and for most parts, you will get much less than 60 tokens in a full run? If ascended items are merely cosmetics, I would understand… but they are not. They, and rings, are the only sources of agony resistance. For ascended rings, I don’t get why they are governed by RNG since they are again a source of agony resistance.

Lastly, the dc issue. If Anet wants to make it more challenging by limiting repair and vendoring opportunities, its fine. There can definitely be some middleground solution like having a temp buffer on the status of the individuals armour at maybe the start of the fractual so that when the gamers leaves and re-enters Fotm, the game “remembers” his/her armour status or something like that. But to completely shut off and waste a gamer’s time over unintentional internet disruption is not really reasonable imo.

Skipping Parts in Dungeons

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: mosspit.8936

mosspit.8936

one thing people should do is if they DO tend to skip a lot, let people knwo ahead of time. ESPECIALLY if you know someone’s new in the group! because by the time the first/second-timer or someone who always fights suddenly sees everyone jetting, they are already reacting a second too late, which using AC as an example can be guaranteed down / death if they’re running head first into two scavengers leap attack. sure, we should all have situational awareness, but yea. haha fresh in my mind because it happened to someone the other day when running AC. and then the person who skipped ahead went sigh. and didn’t even bother coming back to help or res. it just makes it worse for themselves. if they’re going for a speed run, let people know so you can at least agree on terms and have things work out, instead of letting / watching people die and then you end up wasting your own precious time.

True. The thing about skipping is that if you are unfortunately killed and lay in the middle of the mob, you will most likely have to respawn. The best case scenario is another team member runs with you. If you are the last mob, the team can possibly kill the mob to rezzed you. But respawning is very likely.

However, I find there is a slight issue with new comers who do not communicate to the team that they are new. It is as bad as not communicating the intentions to skip or otherwise. There are tell-tale signs of new comers but there are not 100% accurate. But when it is time to skip, they generally cant keep up and when they lay dead within aggro range, they get frustrated at why they don’t get rezzed.

Skipping Parts in Dungeons

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: mosspit.8936

mosspit.8936

Personally, when I do dungeons (I generally do alot of dungeons and know which parts are skippable or otherwise), I will sound out and ask for decisions on to skip or not to skip, in PUGs anyways. But generally if the party has new comers, I will suggest minimal skipping to facilitate running back. If the party is not that good, minimal skipping too.

Kholer was already in fact changed to have a bigger aggro detect range than before for those who runs AC regularly. It is not as drastic as impeding progression via locked door or whatever, but I believe it is a middleground. And fighting Kholer is not an issue since he is no longer just a timesink with little rewards. I don’t mind getting those silvers when dropping him.

But pulling and skipping trash mobs, I don’t see the reason not to. Guess you guys haven’t encountered scenarios where a noob charges in aggro all the groups of mobs at once and lures them to the party to wipe them huh

I dont get why we have to set up restrictions or even put up “punishments” for skipping mobs? Right now you have the CHOICE to skip trash mobs or otherwise. Why do you want to control how ppl play that much?

It’s up to the devs. If they really meant or wanted you to do everything to get credit, they should add those requirements to completion of a dungeon. DDO struggled with this, people would find ways around everything, exploit. They started making quests have to kill at least X, put in alerts that if you skipped baddies, the dungeon level would heighten and toughen. In the end they have all types of dungeons now, and thee top players will always look for the edge to take advantage of any slip up.

So to answer you, if the game doesn’t stop you, then what can anyone even do? For every flower sniffer there is a max’er. The two don’t mix well.

You left the most important part of my quote out. Which is choice. FYI previously there was already a round of fixes that made it to stop the skipping of segments containing bosses eg. TA. That was around same time that runs started giving 60 tokens.

I don’t really skip bosses like Kholer since they now have better drops. However, I don’t see why trash mobs absolutely need to be defeated for dungeon progression. As I said, if you wanna fight absolutely everything, made known to others during the group forming stage. To suggest punishing others for skipping makes me wonder what if the trigger for even suggesting it? Maybe a bad dungeon encounter centered around skipping and became the source of negativity.

I still wonder how many of those who are supportive of these drastic measures really run dungeons frequently. If they just dabble dungeons to get achievements and get token equipments and move on to other aspect of the game, they should not be suggesting long term changes to dungeons.

Why do you want to control how ppl play that much? If you want to engage all mobs, by all means communicate that during the group forming stage and go at it. Moreover, there are some dungeons where there are inherently little skipping like CoF and CM (little skipping NOT absolutely no skipping). You can try those dungeons instead.

I am genuinely curious for those who are strongly against skipping, how often do you run dungeons? For some, dungeons are a long-time aspect in the game because they enjoy it and are generally more involved than the events in the overworld. For others, it might be something to dabble for things like token equipment and achievements and move on later.

Instead of nerfing and punishing, why can’t it be the opposite which is creating more incentives?

O honestly! This anti-magic find garbage is just getting out of hand now. IF you make magic find shared, what is to stop people from excluding people who don’t have magic find gear? You NOW want inspect feature so you can kick people wearing magic find because you think it is somehow screwing you. But would be perfectly okay with taking these people you have to “carry” if you could also get a slice of their pie? Yet that’s just going to mean that you will inevitably go for the people with the biggest pies! I.e. if magic find was shared, you would want an inspect feature to find the people with magic find gear!

The magic find argument is not about group efficiency. It never has been! It’s about envy! You don’t want the guy next to you coming out of the dungeon with more loot then you! Well tough! We are only given three stats and we all made/will make judgement calls on which three stats we choose to favour. Other’s may agree or disagree with the choices but no one, NO ONE has a right to “share” in stats they had no hand in us obtaining.

And if you can’t tolerate the idea of the guy next to you coming out of the dungeon with more loot then you, then get magic find gear of your own!

Then by that argument, ppl who wear mf gear wants to be envied by others? To be honest I don’t give a flying jack about people who get good drops. I am happy for them though. I run dungeons because its fun and the new patches made it more profitable in terms of silver drops. Lodestones from chest are a plus too which are not agumented by mf anyways. But sacrificing mf for stats, the effects are a fact.

It is really simple.

If the group is not proficient (which one can tell from Spider Queen), the party should avoid skipping. Just to facilitate running back. However, if the party is bad, they are as likely to wipe on bosses as with trash mobs (scavengers).

If the group is good, skipping is totally fine. I will leave Kholer up to the rest since he drops silver and bags. There is now additional incentive to kill him.

Just take everything in stride. When in PUGs, you should adjust your expectations accordingly.

The spider and Nightmare Tree in TA are just down-right easy for me.

Of course its easy. But I asked for the strategy. For the TA Forward/Up path Nightmare Tree with spiders, what did you do to prevent aggroing spiders? Or do you just aggro them and deal with it?

And for the Nightmare Tree with the turrets, of course its easy. But again what is your strategy? Is there a safe melee spot where the turrets can’t hit you or do you deal with turrets first before engaging.

Reason for me asking is I have accumulated about 3.5k TA tokens and I have never seen a melee succeed in those 2 bosses. I really don’t mind partying you for TA runs and I have never kicked anyone out from TA before. (Those who are melee-only ususally stand in the back and support or they just lay dead in the middle where rezzing is not possible by the rest of the party). I kinda hope you can be the first though.

Thanks for the replies and, to some, sympathy.

Let me clarify myself; I use melee strictly as not only do I prefer it, but I find that I—as the player I am—am more useful in a position I’m comfortable with and, by far, much more efficient at DPSing a foe down based on me, as a player, that developed my character to excel in what he does.

For those saying that I’m not cooperating with the group strategy—I’ve never had a whole group turn evil on me for my choice—even when I reassure that all will be fine because it always has been. Like some have stated, it’s been about two people who are conditioned to believe that the way they are seeing things is correct.

I do not believe I’m holding the team back or going against a team strategy that was never set-in-stone in the first place. I’ve never flat out said " lol i’m not using range ", I’ve always stated something like, (and sometimes before we begin the dungeon) " I do not use ranged weapons—I believe I do better, and I have, with what equipment and mind-set I have. "

It boggles me where people where conditioned to the point where [X] Trinity needs to be followed, all players must have ranged weapons, and all players must [X]. This game doesn’t bound us to these pointless self-assumed requirements.

For those who keep saying that they would kick me for going melee on [insert Boss];
well, I did go melee against [insert Boss]. and I won with [little] failure.

You just want to do it your way then. Maybe it is inline with ANet philosophy? Perhaps I don’t know. What I can tell you is that your (as in gamers in general) playstyle should be the one who conform to dungeons and not the dungeons conform to your playstyle.

Let me just be clear. I play a Guardian who runs most dungeons except for Arah. Guardian’s melee is indeed imo superior to range options. But it doesnt mean ranged is obselete.

Let me choose TA as an example. If you have successfully completed the TA Fwd/Up (Spiders) and TA Up (Turrets), please share your strategy on how you managed to avoid aggroing additional spiders / hit the boss in the middle of a turret field. Up to now, melee chars who insist on meleeing do not contribute to damaging these 2 bosses in all of my runs.

Patch fixing precursors

Alright calling you out a scavenger hunt is free no if you acquire one through a scavenger hunt that’s free what does that mean its free no? if u read kid you see shes making scavenger hunts in future no? Secondly its feedback and its constructive i not only showed how many who payed full price for precursors a week before event feel i also for one showed how taking in a hypothetical situation to show how people who bought or forge using lots of gold on precursors feel a bit cheated. IF you knew a event was going to drop a precursor or chance you wouldn’t waste your money buying it would you? Thirdly don’t insult me because i don’t want to see thousands of people running around with legendaries and yes area-net has made it easier to obtain a legendary now for those trying to go for it. See you think im being negative no im giving valid points and situations so please know what the hell the other side feels before posting kthxbai.

Free as in gold? I guess. However, I don’t think the previous poster meant free that way. He/she mostly meant it isn’t free in terms of effort.

So you are claiming that changing up ways to get the percursor will be unfair for those who got it from the forge or drops due to the disparity of effort between those who got it and don’t? This is EXACTLY what the current RNG does. The current RNG does not care if you dumped in 5g or 500g into the forge when creating a precursor. Empathy works both ways.

For those who already got your precursor, congratulations. However, if that leads to these owners wanting exclusivity for their legendaries, I will just have a difference in opinion. Getting a precursor early is just that. Having to own before other people. That is the… prestige if i may call it. However, if any gw2 gamer wants to work for one, he/she should be allowed to do so. It might take a long time and effort but he/she should be allowed to pursue for one of his/her choosing.

ANet is making it easier to get a Legendary

Ï can see that people think I’m complaining, which is wrong and I’m sorry that people got me like that.

I was just stating my fears. I understand that more and more people will get Legendary weapons, but what I don’t like is that ANet is making it easier and easier to get one.

That there will be more mats available as more and more people reach lvl cap and start farming (i.e. Lodestones) is a natural way, but not that ANet is creating easier ways for people to get Karma.

Before this patch you had to get 100 gold to buy the Obsidian Shards, now you just need to do a little farming (nothing compared to try to get 100 gold) of the new and exciting dungeon; the Fractals of the Mist and buy Obsidian Shards. I’ve already acquired 70 shards from the Fractals…

Just cuz you bought your gold for ridicules amount of money, and now its cheaper and easier, doesn’t mean you need to start QQ like a whipped bishlet you are. Man up!

I have not bought any gold, nor was that my plan. I’ve done a lot of farming and as I’ve already stated earlier in this post; I’m not QQing. I’m writing my concerns. As far as I can see you didn’t bring anything positive to this topic.

My concerns is that soon Legendary weapons will be something everyone have…

Let me be one of the first to point out that obby shards take 2.1k karma ea and not 1g ea.

To be honest, I am not very particular about people with magic find. They can streak through the entire dungeon for all I care… AS LONG AS they can carry their own weight.

That being said, it is a fact that Magic Find is a selfish attribute that contributes nothing to the group progressing through the dungeon. A person wearing MF gear is basically sacrificing personal effectiveness (and therefore group effectiveness) for personal gains. And I understand that there are some instances that wearing MF gear can in fact hamper certain gamers from “carrying” themselves.

I just bought my Dusk a few days ago. Now, this comes out, which could drastically lower the cost of a pre-weapon….. Should I just sell my Dusk and buy other mats needed or just keep my Dusk?

This is some BS.

I dont think they will somehow reduce the prices .. by giving us easyer way to obtain precursors. That would be like screwing over every dedicated and HC player they have.

Now read the bolded part of the developer’s response.

We’ve received a large amount of feedback about Legendaries becoming unreachable. This is actually a topic we’ve been tracking for quite some time.To ease your minds I am here to say that it’s something we’ve been watching and we’ve been listening to your feedback. You can expect to begin to see changes addressing the issue starting with our next build.

Now read another bolded part of another developer’s response from another related thread.

We’ve seen players discussing the topic of crafting legendary precursor weapons and claiming that we’ve made changes to make this more difficult. We’d like to be clear that we did not make any across the board changes to reduce the drop rate, nor was it our intention to significantly increase the difficulty in acquiring these precursor weapons.

We did fix a few bugged recipes that were rewarding Legendary precursors more often than they should have been. These recipes were mostly using Rares in the level 70-75 range and mostly affected the precursors for the greatswords and the dagger. This has had some effect on the drop rate when using lower level rares to attempt to get a precursor but it was never intended for that to be the best way of acquiring these weapons. The recipes for throwing in level 80 exotics have not changed at all.

We have been watching the prices climbing on Legendary precursors and share your concerns about some of them becoming too expensive. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make any adjustments we feel are necessary.

What these translate, in reasonable amount of certainty, is that the prices is somehow not in acceptable range as far as Anet is of concern. More specifically, it is the price climb that in the first place that is non-static. I personally do not mind paying 350+ gold for a precursor and it would quite a bit of time to achieve. But be realistic, it will not stop at 350+ gold when these low supplied items can command a higher price. So Dogblaster, for ANet to do what you claim or hope they will do, the developers have to backpaddle on their responses.

Level 80 Elitest need to go!

Reading through made me remember a particular AC Exp run. I responded to an invite and found out the leader was barely at AC level cap. He had a friend in the party that was moderately leveled at 60. The rest of the party was 2 80s myself included and an under 80.

At Spider Queen I realize it was gonna be a long run as we actually wiped. In particular I was busy rezzing the leader and his friend. After Spider Queen, the other level 80 aggroed Kholer. The leader then proceeded to kick everyone except me and his friend. The vote got confirmed by his friend of course. It was then I got a sickening feeling that I needed to carry the leader and his friend through AC. I would be kicked myself if I didn’t know my way around the dungeon well. But in the end, I politely left the party as it wasn’t something worth going through any more.

TL;DR – Elitism isn’t confined to level 80s.

@lehova
I used to believe that people skip it, because they are all so good. But I found out it was wrong assumption. Most players just keep dying there, and they simply avoid this boss, cuz they can’t keep up their Uber Pro 1337 player image if they fail miserably in such place

It doesn’t mean that you are one of those too. Just the majority is like that.

If that is the case, what is the competency of these, as you said, “1337” players when they are against the Ghost Eater or Howling King? If they reasonably well against them, I would attribute their poor performance to lack of experience. Overall, he has only one key attack that should be avoided, namely the aoe pull into sword whirl.

Of all runs that I fought Khoeler, it was because the party insisted on it and I naturally chipped in since I wanted to be part of the group effort. However, he does not impede dungeon progress and by that definition, can be considered an optional boss. If the party is focused on getting the tokens, I find it totally fine if he is skipped.

If you start the instance you can not change characters. It’s as simple as that.

This means, do not swap characters to get something from their inventory, to not swap characters to get the 60 tokens a second time, do not swap characters to get the completion experience or karma on a levelling alt. If you start the instance, you stay.

Just wanted to quote for the emphasis. What is worse than wasting your own time is wasting the time of 4 more others.

Dungeons are okay. The difference with them and generic PvE is the jump in hp and dmg output of enemies. Assuming one is new and are, at least, the level cap of dungeons (implying he/she have leveled multiple times in normal PvE and more comfortable with normal PvE situations), he/she is likely to feel the “difficulty” being out of place. My advise is keep at it for a few times. Once the experience running a dungeon sink in, you will probably have a more enjoyable time. Or even think that is too easy. Hate to say this but if you don’t like dungeons because it is too different from the generic PvE and you are not willing to “learn the ropes”, maybe dungeons are not for you.
