The question is do other guardians find +25% movement speed invaluable enough where it is the go to rune for roaming/small group fights. I’m considering using other runes, but I’m not sure if being slow again will get me kills

Hi everyone,

I run 0/5/30/30/5, and I use traveler’s runes on my armor. My biggest enjoyment now stems from WvW roaming/dueling. I love the fact that I have +25% movement speed, but I want to push for more damage. I switched to traveler’s runes because I felt I didn’t connect w my opponents enough, and it has plenty of other perks as well (boon duration). I consider switching to damage runes like strength runes because I play very offensively. I realize the drop in movement speed would suck, but could I still effectively kill targets without the boost in speed?

If so, please explain how I could go about doing so w my current trait set-up. Thanks

To be honest the 15% boon duration makes sense considering it’s the virtue line… What is ANet thinking

fun thing is three of the four things you say to reduce power damage work also on conditions.

Are you joking? If conditions are already on me, but I just start blocking, I still take damage from the conditions on me. You said 3/4, well even if I blind my opponent and have conditions on me, I still take damage. I didn’t say condition application, we’re talking about condition damage here. Don’t try to act like conditions aren’t wild in their current state. What you just said is wrong

I’ve mained guardian, and only guardian since I started playing, and I can tell you that anet may be afraid to really change guardian. It’s been basically the same since launch. They only make minor changes to the profession, and I really wish they would address issues such as spirit weapons sucking

Can I use energy and renewal in one weapon set?

Conditions need to be looked at. I don’t understand how it’s possible for one person to overload a target with conditions. The biggest one I have concerns about is confusion. I’ve listened to what people have had to say, and I remain adamant in believing confusion needs a change. Runes of Perplexity are a terribly good way to put confusion on a target. I’ve literally been hit with 10 stacks of confusion and been like, “This is how I die.” I don’t see any skill in condition overload. I have no issue with people who play their profession so well that they can navigate many conditions onto me, but there are too many one button iWins out there

You can’t save everyone. Focus on your own survival and doing as much damage as possible while staying alive. I didn’t run my first dungeon until level 80, but what I can tell you from that past experience eons ago, is that you may want to start off using a defensive set like knights (power/precision/toughness), or anything you can get your hands on with toughness. I went from doing 2k autoattacks to 1.4k/1.5k… a 10% dmg loss would be losing 200 damage from 2k. A thief I asked said she lost 400 dmg on her autoattack. What is going on here?

My old TA armor set is showing instead of my equipped warlock set (quality of life), and also, why was attack removed from the stat list?

small necro for the post,
the difference between berzerker and zealot is in minor critical damage vs minor healing.
since critical damage from ferocity is being lowered,

maybe zealots is going to be the next guardian PVE armor for the added group healing traded for ~15% critical damage?

I’d take 15% critical damage over minor healing any day…

Reduce confusion by another 50%, or make the max amount it stacks to 3… It is a ridiculous condition when you rely on using your skills a lot. I hate when people say don’t attack. What the heck am I supposed to do for pressure then?

Make courageous return give 5 seconds of swiftness on aegis destruction instead of what it currently does

I feel you. Since binding the runes to my armor I’ve yet to remove them. Ever since I put them on people have been telling me I’m so fast. Someone even said I move like a thief (lol i wish)

Oh my Goddddd! This is big news! I’ve been wearing the heavy twilight arbor set for over 1 year now. Finally I can replace it with something I like. I’m so happy I bought the warlock set while I could ^~^. At least I’ll feel special until it releases on Halloween again

The way I chose was looking up information about all the professions on the wiki and seeing what the skills looked like by watching gameplay videos. I fell in love with Whirling Wrath, and guardian was my first character and my only main since playing~

Confusion needs to be toned down :|

To be honest if confusion was toned down I’d be happy. That’s the ONLY thing making condi spamming professions so ridiculous right now. If they didn’t have access to crazy amounts of confusion it’d be an even playing field

I was thinking it would be cool if guardians could control what effects their symbols produced. For example: Symbol of Wrath could be changed to Symbol of Smoke, and the functionality changes so it gives blind on tick and is a smoke combo field. This could be a natural guardian mechanic or one that is given by a trait. The same way the current 6-0 slots are exchangeable is how it would work for whatever # the symbol falls on.
