What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to do as much damage as possible, relieve aggro from your group, have awesome healing capabilities, give support through boons?

Can anyone tell me what the damage reduction for 3,000 and 3,050 toughness is?

Stats are too spread out. Pick something with more of a focus on stat allocation

I had that feeling too. Expand your mind and think outside of the box. Each Elite has a purpose and something it is extremely good with. The question is: Does it fit in your niche?

Current stats for the moment unbuffed. Once I get the laurels for it I’m going to get the zerker/valk ascended earring to buff up my crit chance.

Normally I play a spell-caster in MMOs, but GW2 is one of those rare exceptions I play melee. I don’t like how kiting in GW2 feels, and I have trouble sticking with any profession besides Guardian.

Hello everyone,

I currently run a trait set-up of 0/5/30/30/5, a standard AH build. This build has allowed me to play comfortably up to this point, but I’ve started to wonder “Am I being selfish?” I want to stay alive as long as I possibly can while dealing damage. That’s fun to me. I also want to aid my party members in a quick and easy way.

My toughness is close to 3.1k and I’ve reached 85% unbuffed critical %. I’m neither looking to call myself a tank or a godly damage dealer – I just want to be a productive member of my party. I’m wondering if I could invest trait points into different train lines, maybe ones that will do what I want to do better, and effectively boost my overall benefit to the party.

I want another way to do close to or better DPS while maybe giving up some toughness to increase the groups survivability or trading survivability for boon spreading.

I know AH isn’t the only way to play, there has to be something else out there that will come to a close to perfect fit to how I want to play.

I am a enormous fan of GW2’s dungeons. I got my Dungeon Master title a while back, and I have been running Fractals and doing my dailies/monthlies to get accessory ascended gear. I even did my first team oriented WvW today as well! I was just wondering how long until we get more dungeons. To me it doesn’t seem likely – well, until the next expansion that is. I don’t want a rush job, but I would like to have more dungeons to do. I try my best to find things to do and goals to accomplish, but after a while I’m just like whatever. If you played the original GW then how long did it take until new dungeons (if they existed in GW1) take until they were released?

I think you should mix cavalier, soldier, and knight gear. You’ll be tanky and dish out good DPS

Naa, you’d be fine. Your toughness is way up there. I have around 80ish less toughness than you and 1.6k less HP. You can go ahead and drop some of that vitality

That makes sense, but as you get better you can drop some of the vitality you have from gear and convert it into another secondary stat like precision or more toughness. Your toughness is already really high, so you could probably put it into precision

It looks like you want to focus on WvW and I have not done real WvW to give you solid advice, but I do run an AH build.

depends on where your toughness is at, after 3k you start to see diminishing returns for adding more into toughness.

What do you mean?

Including two screenshots. The first one is a bit older, but it shows what my toughness was (3,039) and my old HP value. I wanted more precision so I could possibly deal more damage from criticals.

Hey guys,

I’m wondering if I should make a necromancer or a mesmer. My only 80 is a Guardian, and I want to give being a caster a try. What I’m looking for in a caster is one that can be tuned to chuck out a ton of damage or playing a more supportive/defensive role. I like to run dungeons and do open world PvE dynamic events. I’m also looking into WvW and sPvP (done neither).
