This has been complained about before, nothing will be done, but yeah it is an annoying mechanic. Only thing you can do, is try and lure the lord to a place they won’t be able to access easily when they port in.
Thieves have the most stealth, thus they’re the most annoying, then comes mesmers which are annoying and prolly third nowadays rangers. It has nothing to do with being stronger or ‘OP’, but everything about it being a bad experience fighting them due to the aforementioned stealth mechanic. Win or lose, it’s no fun playing against a stealth class, so you get whining on forums.
I’m pretty sure necros will kill me far easier than thieves, yet I don’t mind fighting them at all. Thieves generally just give up.
If I did not see the picture and recognized the names in chat I would not have believed the neat lines of golems were made by Gandarans lol.
Yeah it was amazing how everybody pulled together and didn’t wander off with one or two while they weren’t ready yet. Once they actually got moving it was a bit of a mess of course… Think it ended up as three separate groups of golems, they were arriving in waves =p
I feel bad for the people that play at unusual times, but in prime time a lot of fun can still be had in this matchup
Elona is a lot more fun than riverside and blobbadon funnily enough, I might have judged them a bit too hastily. Again, as I only play during primetime and don’t care about points, I don’t think everybody else is too happy with em.
Thanks to all who were on gandara borderlands tonight, we had a lot of fun
Elona ran with a lot of small groups that were a blast to fight! FSP was running with separate guild groups, although AoA was a bit too big for us, still had some good fun. Was quite a bit of blobbing going on from gandara side at certain points, so sorry for any inconvenience from that ^^
I bet we had the most uncoordinated golem zerg ever…. in true gandara style. We managed to kill em off by attacking lake, which I’m pretty sure also isn’t too common :P Was almost bed time, so might as well use them in open field combat.

Here’s my +1!
With some extra text for padding, no worries, I’m a great spammer, usually I don’t have any trouble getting to the required 15 characters >.>
It is super easy to get, very little effort overall to get geared at this stage of the game, and it provides only a bit more stats. I doubt anyone will notice the difference while they run around in PVT face planting their #1 key with a group of their closest 50 friends.
I definitely noticed the difference when I got my guardian all ascended trinkets. It’s very much noticeable, which is why I do not want more of that gear. Getting that stuff takes a lot of time (lots of laurels…) for just one character. I have one character for each class, and have to pick and choose which one deserves to get ascended trinkets, as I’ll only be able to get it for one every few months.
That doesn’t even take into account when I want to change builds around…
we would never ever get 24 competitive servers becasue, quite simply there is not enough players to do that..there could be around 10 I think though.
I think choosing a server for both WvW and PvE has been the problem from the begining as it makes it much harder to balance the population actually engaging in WvW
Spread the WvW population equally over all the servers and they’re all competitive, not sure how they can’t all be ‘competitive’. Actually accomplishing that might be impossible, but it has nothing to do with not having enough players.
I don’t really see the point in more ascended gear besides adding grind. Why don’t they make their stats equal to exotics, but with an added damage buff in <wherever they feel it’s relevant, as long as it’s not WvW>
Banish works fine, the slightly higher cooldown makes it a bit more tactical. There will almost always be somebody with banish off cooldown, unless you don’t call out your shots properly.
Anyway, I hope guilds in Elona will take this oppertunity to run as guilds to find some good fights. Loads of Gandara and FSP groups who look for fights, and don’t give a kitten about points.
As MuhQ already said under the week on BLs you usually will find a lot guild-raids. On EB and over the weekend this will be difficult due to queues. But I can say only usually, I am not not sure what happens this week, Elona was never in a T9-like match before. But this does not necessarily mean small-scale, also our guild raids are mostly 15+ sometime up to 40.
40 is a blob to us, not a guild. Our guilds run mostly up to 15, with a couple of guilds maybe reaching 20-25 on special days. Then again, because it’s reset night we had around 6 on as reset night is never popular
This is going to be so much fun.
Perhaps give some credit to [mya] concerning the origins of the game?
Should be interesting to see how this pans out.
I don’t see why guilds do not have GvG’s every single day. Rolling over or getting rolled over by pug zergs must get pretty boring after a while. The only challenge is how many numbers they can come up with.
In a GvG you face enemies who are organized, who generally know what they are doing, possess proper gear and builds and won’t go down from the first push.
GvG can be fun once in a while, but not all guild members enjoy the format, there are always several waiting by the sideline and there’s something about fighting a larger force of unorganized people and winning because of your organization that gives a certain thrill you won’t get from GvG. Also the thrill of getting the jump on somebody is simply not present in GvG.
Hope so Tyialo hope so. Clashing with piken has been on the cards since Feb when we left. A lot of old friends we’d like to lock horns with. Sure it’s not the piken we remember, if you believe all the stories. That said, VII, GG, EXE, GoW, the ruskies and with our favourite sparring partner Mya there too what a week that would be. Form an orderly queue
As to the matchup, Jadesea offered about as much as I remembered from last time. Didn’t raid myself during the week for various reasons, bday being one of em. So didn’t get to fully enjoy the week with Gandara.
I will say though, colour me disappointed. Advertised for GvG nice and early and alas no takers. No rematches no fresh challenges. Ah well next time.
We see others getting their fights and the guys are like why not us /sadpanda.
Kind regards TUP
You’re too big for most guilds I’m afraid. Getting as many as 20 on is a rare occurrence and not something that can generally be planned. It’s the reason we only plan for 10v10 GvGs as we can usually manage that many, but 15 is something we can only hope for at one point on any given night.
Perhaps if your request went down to 15 v 15 you’d get some more takers, but even that is iffy.
We personally tend to limit the amount of GvGs in a week to around 2 max I believe, so that might also be a factor. There’s a sizable portion of people that does not enjoy GvG so we have to keep that in consideration as well, can’t imagine it’s different for other guilds.
I’ll personally take the opportunity to do some chatting during GvGs sometimes as I’m not always in the mood myself (unless we’re a member short of course or just feeling that itch).
as for the matchup… well, there have been quite a few enjoyable fights, but very much dependent on getting into the lucky borderland. Some had guilds, some had smaller sized blobs, some had bigger blobs but we were lucky to have a high number of people on, and occasionally we took on a huge blob with multiple guilds (generally a once a night thing). Also had some fun GvGs, so overall, not too bad, much better than I feared initially.

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Watchwork_Portal_Device
It does not work in WvW.
And how long do you think it will take until there is a working hack?
Doubtful, it’s much easier to teleport hack than to make a skill work that they simply don’t allow to work. Then again, I’m not gonna try.
Thanks NR, some very intense GvGs
Cheers to everyone for the figths tonite was fun most of the time , was laggy quite a bit as well.
@TuPies , we dont mind that you had to come and help the AG infrantry :p
The important thing is that we crushed you at your spawn. So get on our level.
That was the most epic push i have been in since joining TUP
War Dad TUP
Do you have any idea how hard it was to tag you guys
It was definitely a push worthy of the unlikely plan, took us completely by surprise, very well executed I say!
Also, can we please stay and play with your puggies a little longer next time? They were finally getting the hang of things…
I’m guessing the main reason is: They enjoy it.
So, people are playing a game and enjoying it, sounds fine by me :P
Plus, I really enjoy the roaming videos these duelers make, so I’m happy they do it. Much more interesting than videos of siege or whatever,
They probably did that as a partial refund for the players who spent gold buying tickets.
This would make sense if those people hadn’t been the ones who actually voted, and therefore the ones with no more support tokens left over, only buttons (which are completely worthless, but hold on to them for the next 2 years because anet will probably 1 day make them worth millions)
The ticket vendors and mob drops were still active long after the election had ended. It’s a good way to purge them from the system.
Plus, it kind of makes up for all those weeks of running back into the heart of an enemy zerg just to pick up a wooden chest that should contain a rare, or possibly that precursor you’ve been waiting for since launch, but was actually a kitten support ticket.
Precursors drop from steel chests I’m afraid. Wooden chests with all these silly events going on are not worth risking your life for.
To clarify for those who have never participated in a GvG:
-The loot is negligible as you stop stomping when one of the sides calls it
-Farming groups of randoms is far more profitable
-GvGs between guilds that are somewhat equal in skill last much longer than fights against groups of randoms.
-There’s a lot of downtime where you wait for the guilds to get ready
-GvGs can be any numbers from 5v5 to 30v30, or yes 8v8. Tactics and team compositions will of course vary depending on the numbers.
-It requires more skill than sitting on a siege engine pressing 1 or 2.
-Most guilds will spend maybe a couple of hours a week on GvG and the rest responding to all those reports of inc.sorry, but there’s nothing skilled about zerg vs zerg.
next
The GvGs I participate in are not zerg v zerg, so try again. Try reading the numbers that make up a GvG for example. I’ll agree that zerg vs zerg requires no skill, which is why we do GvGs
Arenanet likes having a care bear game. Aww did mean ol pvp players kill you? That’s okay we’ll move this stupid PvE thing somewhere close to bad AI NPC’s so you don’t have to worry about it.
Well, since Anet made it rain with free badges of honor from achievement chests so that the PvE crowd wouldn’t break a nail trying to get their gifts of battle, I want free dungeon tokens without having to set foot in NPC land.
Agreed, it’s pretty much impossible to do dungeons with people from a WvW guild (as in getting them to wanna come, dungeons aren’t too hard :P). We need to get those tokens somehow….
I say whenever you kill someone in WvW wearing dungeon armor, they have a chance to drop a small amount of the tokens required to purchase said armor set. So if someone is wearing CoF armor, you kill them, chance to drop a few CoF tokens.
Would be neat, might get farmed/exploited though, so any player wearing any dungeon armor —> chance to get any dungeon token would probably be better.
MAKE IT HAPPEN ANET DUNGEONS SUCK
Yeah… just make it so you can only get the tokens if the armor piece you break when you kill em is from there. That would require them to at least keep repairing their gear in order to farm them
I generally take a while to get used to new things and this new system pretty much means I’m not gonna be doing anything they introduce. I’ll generally just be in WvW as the content just isn’t there long enough for me to try and get used to it. I would love it if they had the content around for at least 2 or 3 months.
Good thing is that there are generally less queues when they release new stuff. It’s a shame they don’t update on fridays, as that’s generally the worst day for WvW, and to some degree the rest of the weekend.

Catapult Mastery
As clear as they can get.
Ty TDA for the Gvg, very solid group, props
Thanks for the fun! You should focus purely on climbatize, he likes it
I apologize for stomping one DAWN guy after the gvg was over and we were messing around at the water… I wanted to show my new finisher and thought it was a french guy =p

think around 1s per ticket or so
Yes red circles wont be affected by culling, probably. But for example, Meteor Shower or Feedback dont have red circles.
So you’ll still be able to see them, just less intensive?
I’m pretty sure they won’t be culling red circles… just the big flashy stuff reduced to less flashy stuff.
GvG being compared to trading kills?
Reading this post gave me cancer.
It pretty much goes to show they have no idea what they’re complaining about. As does the idea that sieging requires more thinking or tactics than GvG
(edited by multivira.7925)
You got them in WvW…
I know, I got lots of them, but I dont know what are them for, or were for.
you could vote for some npc or whatever, but had to do some sort of jumping puzzle to get to the NPCs. They were useless until now, where you can sell them to any NPC for gold.
Yeah some nice gold for those, glad I didn’t support anything
Was not a bad night for TDA I think. Quite a few small scale fights with the french randoms and some nice skirmishes with CRUX and TUP. So thanks for the fun
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!! HAVE MY BABIES!!!
You better not be implying TDA don’t bring the love!

had a great time on AG borderlands last night, no-one demanding that I go on some kind of voice comm. The only down side was the insane numbers put forward by GD and JS. At one point AG was actually outmanned on our own borderlands, JS had three zergs all of which outnumbered the AG one when we were defending the bay. Btw, did Gandara really need both Yak and XxX in AG borderlands at the same time?
There’s way too many guilds on gandara to have less than 2 per borderland lol. A lot of times there will be 4 guilds on a borderland during the week, unless you have a problem with those guilds specifically for some odd reason.
Guilds will change borderlands until they find one they can have fun in. If that happens to be AG, then that’s where they’ll be. If they stick around it’s usually an indication there are actual fights to be had and not just people sitting on arrow carts, so it’s a good sign
Oh and Gandara does not really coordinate much beyond ‘Hey, there’s fun fights in this borderland and there’s no queue’. If GBL is being taken by a massive blob and there’s no such blob in AG BL for example, most guilds will definitely move there if they can
JS can have their PPT and lower the odds of meeting them again.

Nutrients from the soil and sunlight I guess!
TUP looking for some GVGs, PM me here or mail me ingame. Ideally 20v20.
To the guys that fought us, kudos you made it entertaining.
o/ Gandara.
Actually, if you want GvG JS guilds, you’re on the wrong map. Gandara has been decreeted the GvG free map this week by our server organisation. All the JS guilds on Gadara map are supposed to be against GvG, and are entitled NOT to respect any GvG there (ie : red = fight). You’ll likely have more chances on AG’s map where GvG matches must (at least, should) be respected by our guilds.
PS : A gardian-necro-mesmer blob, TUP style, is quite old fashioned by now
Bro, you’re not ok, I suggest for you and your friends a nice BBQ with iced cold beers and a lot of cute gals. You need to relax a bit.
And now the epic debate, gas or charcoal for your BBQ?
http://www.wikihow.com/Decide-Between-a-Charcoal-or-Gas-BarbecueMicrowave. Cheaper, cleaner, geeker, greener.
Mother Gaia says thank you.
Eat raw like god intended.
lol Ares TUP don’t have a organised train
but our train does go Choo Choo… that’s all that matters
as for class composition it looks like TDA are the closest in their guess work / intelligence
(yes that’s right TDA and intelligence in same sentence don’t be shocked Gandara and spoil their dream :P)
Drinking warband tonight so don’t expect much from us
Chugga Chugga Chugga
Yes. people would be surprised at the amount of brains in a banana.
I’m 100% sure you can’t guess Our team composition though.
Mesmers are ideal for blobbing, they can take up almost all the hits from an AoE skill!
Aha, I’m on to you TUP, that’s why you run pure mesmer blobs!
What retaliation? my poor ranger has none: D
LIES!!!
You play for TUP you MUST have some
kitten asura rangers with their retaliation skills!
My favourite moment in reset night was, when Gandara and Jade Sea both attacked our garri’s inner. Gandara pushed into the lords room and Jade Sea went away from our garri. I don’t know why JS did that. It was very interesting. You had the numbers that’s for sure.
That’s because we were definitely chatting with JS on how to best screw over AG. Or something. Erm. They prolly figured it would be easy pickings once Gandara got it, as we are not known for defending stuff.
I didn’t say anything about you chatting with JS and teaming up for it man… I just pointed out that it was a bit confusing why they weren’t even trying to go in and cap it since they had the number advantage…
I think it’s a joke bro.
Dude, these forums are serious business.

Nice fights on EBG, I was only commander till about 10:00, but was all good despite a rocky star
still repeatedly JS golem rushing Quentin with varying between 5-20 people
As always blobby but fun; nice to camp Anza vista on my lvl 34 ranger more recently
cos I was bored like that, shot a tuppy off the edge once or twice I think amongst all the rest, for that I apologise; gravity is an Upscale’s best friend.
Seems also that we’re getting screwed over in one way or another every single matchup, gief AG-FSP-Gandara plzz
Don’t think we’ve been screwed over by this particular server before though. Wooptidoo.
Dius, Yak, XXX, TDA, CTNK, IC, INT, anyone I miss? Looking forward to pulling this off again <3
Proof you don’t need them veils
You know that only works because you are TUP and everybody is happy to chase a single TUP cookie around the world. There’s a decent enough chance to bag one of your forum warriors and that’s bonus points!
Hmm let’s hope this downward trend fun-wise does not continue during the rest of the week. It started real fun, but slowly as time goes on the evenings become less entertaining
Cheers to the Psy guild and one other guild that attacked us with their 5 vs our 12 earlier in the evening. That was surprising and awesome
AG pugs show some amazing fighting spirit at times regardless of their numbers also.
lool I am now imagining AR destroying every single wall on a borderland.
Now that’s an achievement they should add in the next patch!
Dear Augury,
Its been a year since your last eye-test, and you’re due for a check-up. Please arrange an appointment as soon as possible.
Regards,
Gandara
Maybe they don’t want the keep, they just hate walls?
Dear dw,
You have my official permission to eat those bananas.
Their healthy and full of vitamines.
Also they close to expire anyway, and we dont like the smell of expired bananas in Gandara =(
oi! Pizzas gone bad smell much worse, think I’ll start with eating this tiny fairy pizza here.
TDA, you’re like a Rock. Hard to wipe !
If youre talking about hills on ar-bl, that was one looooong fight
Lots of good fights tonight, the best one was a 5min fight against [dw] at south camp bridge <3Afaik [TDA] are former members of [dw] – that must have been kind of a strange feeling I guess. Bad enough to see good people leave RS, even worse to have to fight them.
[TDA] has existed for over 10 years now I believe, or something like that. We did recently have quite a few people from [dw] join us, who are with us pretty much every night in WvW. Fighting [dw] yesterday was definitely a fun experience with some of their ex-members on TS
12 years this fall.
We recruited 8 dw of which 6 are active.
Fizz, you seem rather sober and coherent, I do hope you’re alright :o
