this just happened to me, no guild, no party. apparently I am not online to anyone, but I am. others are also offline, yet I know they aren’t.

it only started happening since the patch

have you checked your settings to make sure ground targeted things aren’t going where you mouse is pointing? just a thought because I made that mistake once with that.

part way through defending the keep you have to use a trebuchet to destroy the enemy trebuchets. the problem is that after the cutscene the camera gets stuck to the trebuchet.

interacting with the trebuchet again does fix the problem, but because I’m sure it isn’t supposed to work like this I decided to post here.

I’m from the UK, and I play on Isle of Janthir just fine. no drop in fps, no really high pings. all in all can’t see many problems with it game wise.

the catapult isn’t disabled, and you don’t need to talk to mad mardine. the disabled content is a gambling game that used to be there.

to get to the vista, you need to complete the harpy event that happens at the catapult. after the event, a few cows are shot at the tower, then mad mardine’s assistant leaves to find more. this is when you can use the catapult to get to the vista

1. no it isn’t bugged, just fiddly. there is a certain point along the right side where you can grab it to move it. I think the cursor changes when you can grab it.

2. I can’t answer this because I didn’t play beta, sorry, but I have never had it work either.

have you done all the jumping puzzles in the areas? they often count towards the explorer ones

Tassi doesn’t exist in the world anymore, so no you can’t turn them in anymore I’m afraid

server time doesn’t really matter, as long as you pick an american one there should be plenty of other players around

don’t worry, most things you make aren’t soulbound

if you’re going to pick either, I’d go with engineer for now. ranger’s spirits are not very good and need alot of trait points to make them even slightly viable, and even after that they are still fairly weak. saying that, it might get fixed or reworked in the future, but until that point you’d be stuck with them.

yeah you can ask others to join and help. they will have to be in your party though

you can send food via mail, just right-click the food in your inventory and then click mail item (I don’t remember the exact wording, sorry). that will attach it to the mail. you can do that about 5 times, then just fill in the person’s name (if you haven’t already)

what do you mean by mouse mode paelen?

if it makes you feel better it took my gf a whole hour to get up there. it is an annoying one, and not because your (or anyone else’s) lack of skill either. its just fiddly.

have you tried stepping back and pressing jump more than once? sometimes it helps and you manage to catch the side of it. or side jumping onto it. might not help much, but worth a try none the less

hey guys, can someone send me a guild invite? wasn’t sure if it was better to ask here or in-game, so thought I’d try here first.

if you take a few steps back (away from the roof) you should be able to make it. I had this problem at first and realised it was because I was actually getting stuck under the roof

clocktower is gone. I logged in this morning, my character was left in the clocktower when I left last night, got instantly kicked to Lion’s Arch.

I think its only the items in the gem store that are available until the 6th. I could be wrong, but everything else appears to have gone

I’m on Isle of Janthir and have always found it to be a good group. people who’ll help randomly in map chat and the like. doesn’t have much queue time in WvW, I think the most I’ve experienced has been 15 mins. it is a fairly full server though, so might be difficult to get in at peak times, but if you’re ok to wait, then it is possible.

does anyone else find it frustrating seeing threads (like yours Yumiko – and welcome btw) where you’d like to lend a hand, but can’t because the person is on a completely different server?

I can’t wait until the guesting thing comes along, then no one will have to worry about what server they’re on.

if you want to find out what world you are in click on world selection in the character select screen, it will say Home World: (insert world name here).

if you’re on Isle of Janthir I’d run around the asura low level events with you (have a lvl 10 asura). if not, like others have said try in map chat, or try putting your name down at the union and join the group. I’m sure there’s someone who will be on the same server who’d run around with you.

if you select them, right-click on their picture and click report there is an option there to report for botting in the drop down menu

oh and in case you don’t know you will have to run out of Diviniy’s Reach, but the exit is pretty easy to find, just head south on the bottom level

Rata Sum > Lion’s Arch > Divinty’s Reach > Queensdale

Garambola you can buy copper tools from the get go, at least from my experience, I usually have just enough copper to buy them all after the start. just saying

back to topic: like others have said, events you can do more than once, which give plenty of xp to level up with. also complete the Rata Sum map, theres nothing there to attack you and map completion gives quite a bit.

also, do your daily achievement, that helps alot.

oh and if you have a friend who hasn’t done the area, ask them to come along, helping them with hearts (especially the kill things ones) will give you xp.

if you’re on Isle of Janthir I’d run around with you, I’ve just started an asura, he’s now level 10 and I haven’t done most of the hearts yet

I must be weird too, I can’t control the camera with the keyboard it just isn’t fluid enough. saying that there probably are people that do, and there probably are people who don’t use the keyboard for control, which I find strange, but each to their own

wow the stuff you learn, I didn’t know I could join more than one guild. makes me wonder how it shows in the guild panel though.

I meant to put my name down for this ages ago, but got distracted by the halloween event, yep very distractable lol. did meet alot of nice random people along the way, mostly from other servers (thank you overflow!) which made it all the more fun

-I do get sidetracked by trees, ore, plants and events, so if you are running with me don’t expect any path to be a straight to it kind of thing, I’m a sucker for these things.
-I do talk alot, and it doesn’t matter if I’ve known you for 2 minutes or all my life
-I do run around alot with my gf, so always expect company, but we are both friendly people, and easy to get on with
-on that note we do go out of our way to help others – book quest had us resing people for 2 hours in the crypts, just to make sure they got through. thought it was only fair since we got it and saw loads of people dying in that area.
Are you willing to participate in Operation: UNION’S project, Y/N?: yes, but can’t join the guild unfortunately because I’m already in one and no more alt spaces to make a character just to join (otherwise I would). still interested though if anyone is looking to group up for whatever reason

next game build will be on the 1st November, so they’ll probably take the stuff from the chests then, as well as ending halloween

wow, so people aren’t doing what you enjoy anymore op, boohoo. get over it and let people enjoy what is there for the limited time they have with it.

I have run the tower and the ascent to madness quite a few times, and not for the chance to get a halloween drop (I don’t even want one) or an exotic, but because it is fun.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the event, from figuring out the books to running around looking for pumpkins to carve.

didn’t really like the pvp game, but then I’m not really that into pvp, I still gave it a good go and helped with the losing of the “team”.

the tower was awesome, had alot of fun not only jumping it, but also the banter in the chat. still run it for fun, and probably will until it disappears.

fighting the mad king was also great, been in there a few times now, and loved the cinematic that played that one time (had to be there for that).

all in all a great experience and can’t wait for the next one, which I’m hoping will be wintersday

My only issue with the tower is on an asuran. I can get my human through it ok, but the camera on the asuran is completely screwy.

I didn’t have much of a problem jumping it with an asura, the one that gave me the most trouble was charr, but that is only because the running animation took a while to get used to (wasn’t sure where my charr’s feet actually were)

oops yeah, they are soulbound. hadn’t really checked that.

4. joining a guild has nothing to do with experience really, so go ahead and look for a good guild to join

5. LF1M TA EXP is looking for 1 more Twilight Arbor explore. Twilight Arbor is a dungeon. you’ll mostly see people looking for groups for dungeons in map chat

create an alt and do the run with them, you can put the boots in the bank and give them to your first character. just make sure they use the same armour as your main. you can always destroy the alt after.

I don’t know there always seem to be plenty of people running the events in low level areas, not now since the halloween even started though, right now everywhere (apart from LA) is just about deserted.

Maybe you’ll find that when halloween is over that the groups come back to run events.

I see alot of hatred and rudeness towards the bigger characters. playing an asura first taught me how to “see” myself without seeing myself, and now I don’t have a problem with the bigger characters. I don’t need to see myself to know where I am or where I’m jumping to.

I don’t see the point in directing failure at someone else, because really that is what the hatred is.

there are pumpkins to carve and candy corn to mine all over the world. also in Lion’s Arch there is the book scavenger hunt.

if you’re on the same server (Isle of Janthir) I’d help you to get it. if you’re not then try asking in map chat either in Sparkfly Fen, Bloodtide Coast or Lion’s Arch.

I’m not level 80 yet (72 atm) and I’m always willing to res people, if I’m in the area (and sometimes if I’m not). when you’re half way across the map though it does get difficult to get there and most people wp out before you can get to them (wish there was a way to say someone was coming). saying that I know there are alot of people who will just run past your dead body like you don’t exist, but this happens across the board.

personally I don’t have a problem running with people lower than me, just yesterday I ran a level 4 around to get the pages for both sets of books. we both enjoyed it, and I’d do it again for anyone. same with the Mad King dungeon, me and a friend took 3 other lower level people in so they could do it.

thing is though I don’t see much in the way of looking for help in map chat for doing the books, if I did I’d help. just saying.

you see the way I saw it was that you were actually giving tips (no one shares them, so I thought that was the idea). you know, something useful. I guess not though, guess you meant it as a joke thread.
