There’s a lot of “newcomers” and " everyone welcomed" parties, but you obviously won’t learn the best strats there as they are mostly running around like headless chickens. I don’t mind having necromancers in my group myself, so if you want to do some dungeons, pm me.
Unfortunately the developers stated in the latest CDI that they are perfectly fine creating content around this giant freaking flaw in the system rather than fixing it. The zerker meta isn’t going away and neither are the pompous people who attempt to enforce it.
If you want to join something and there are nothing but zerker parties, just join anyway, it is none of their bleeding business what your build is, and not your fault that ANet’s design standards are so low.
And here ladies and gentlemen is a perfect exemple of how toxic berserker users are.. Oh, wait, you’rethe one hating on them because your tanky build can’t carry you at light speed.
If i understood, there’s a bunch of players spamming whispers with this simple “meow” until the game client crashes ( Is that even possible?), and everytime op reports one there’s another guy spamming. Thanks for the 5 gold.
you’ll probably get kicked on sight in some parties. And there’s even advertisement for “no necros”. But there’s plenty of lfg groups, so you will always find one suiting your needs, especially if you take a good build and know the encounters.

Removing downstate will force players to care about what they do, cause once you are dead….you
are dead. NPE tells you nothing? And btw you confirm my theory, the game is designed for lazy
players…no-one is a bad player if you lead him to become good.

I never said they couldn’t. I’m trying to get necros in speedruns since quite a while, mainly with their op boon and condi management. Let’s not transform that into an argument about necro viability. Everyone knows they are underperforming in pve, and everyone knows a good necro is still better than a bad warrior.

Might, fury, unique buffs ( banners, frost spirit, spotter, empower allies), vulnerability ( necros have quite a bit but other classes do it better), protection, aegis, blinds, projectile defense, stability, combo blast finishers and stealth are the things you want in dungeons, mainly. And necros have little acces to that. Minions are unreliable and die from aoes anyway.
Take assassin’s trinkets and weapons, and you’ll need only 2 pieces of assassin to get the maximum crit chance without food.

Necro is the worst pve class, because they have little access to support. The Eu meta doesn’t use necros much, but it’s a good class. Get countered and counters things. They are especially useful in www, for more than 5 man content. Less than that, the lack m=of mobility starts to be an issue.

Drakes have cleave. It’s useful in fractals and such, but in leveling the jaguar is enough to kill mobs 1 by 1 while you cleave the others, imo.
Cats. Jaguar and jungle stalker. Best single target dps, that’s what you need for leveling.
Dagger mainhand has fare more sustained cleave dps. The poor autoattacks of scepter and the fresh air procs are single target. I guess that’s the main reason; you need cleave or aoes.
To be fair, double well+ warhorn 5+ focus 4 is some huge burst. Long cooldown, but devastating.

So since zerkers take down bosses faster it take less skill to play since less time to make any misstake, Do i have that right.
I mean if boss go down so fast he cant use his attacks you dont really need to do anything hence no skill
You either rely on active defense for a short time ( well, soloing bosses give you plenty of time to make mistakes, but my solo killing times are probably lower than a 5man pug party), or don’t rely on them at all and facetank the attacks without dodging once. Guess what takes the most skill?
Great thread. I’d like to know more about why people make the choices they do, and some provided that info. Overall, though, it’s really interesting to read the lists!
The lists are all about the same and rank things by the support they offer.
Elementalist is pretty much always first because it caps fury for hours, gives might, has access to blind, projectile defense, condi removal, swiftness, and it does a great dps on top of that. Then come guardians and their defensive support, warriors with their unique offensive support buff ( banners), engis, thieves, mesmers and rangers for the specifics they bring, mostly stealth for engi and thief, portal and defensive support for mesmer and offensive support for ranger. And then there’s necro, with nothing of that.
tl;dr: This game isn’t about dps.
I never had a problem as arah is selling berserker and that’s what I need. I wouldn’t mind assassin, though.

You know what’s funny? If it were only immune to conditions and unblockable attacks, you’d get downed in 1 hit still since condition attacks have base damage still :P
The point is to not getting hit in the first place.
Impossible with all the AoE xD and homing or auto connect AA’s :P

make dungeon harder for the elite speedrun crowd> we adapt anyway> kill times doesn’t change at all, berserker/assassin is still the fastest way/ casuals can’t do the content anymore.

How inexperienced are you?
Guardians spam blinds. Eles, necros, engis have access to aoe blinds. I can’t see how this will change anything. In fractal 50, heartseekers from the colossus fractal hit me twice my health if crit. I’m still using my berserker guardian, and blinds doesn’t refresh on those. Mobs in arah are also fast hitting. Take illusionists, for instance. They wipe inexperienced players in a matter of seconds. Making mobs more difficult would just make it harder, not impossible.
Asuras are the best.
Oddly, it’s not the ZERK ONLY 15K AP PING GEAR thing that gets me. I’m fine making my own groups.
What’s not fine are trolls that will hijack a group with minority kick-votes. That is the thing that keeps me from running dungeons.

A Warrior joined and instantly attempted to kick my Necromancer friend.
It was her first run. We were on skype. She just wanted to see the story.

Honestly what is the point of all these arguments? If everyone just pays attention to the lfg, there should be no issues.
Point is, the people complaining about elitism or things like that feel like they are within they right to join a non suited lfg because they ought to play the most efficient way without the drawbacks. Then, when they get kicked, they come here and complain.
Persoanlly, I’d like to see a new dungeon featuring primarily Mordrem. All Zerker won’t be the meta there, I can almost guarantee. You would see a mix being meta.
Why? because Mordrem attack fast enough that going glass cannon actually matters on the negative front. You can’t avoid everything, and they hurt. Then there are the Husks that just laugh at Zerkers. Factor in Menders and Leechers, you need some serious diversity in a 5-man dungeon.

Mordrems aren’t different from other mobs. They are well thought, balanced, and offer a better challenge than usual mobs, but I’m still perfectly fine killing them in full berserker.

IF you’re going for speedruns time, play ele. If not, a necro isn’t that bad in fractals compared to dungeons because they have good weakness application and most fractal comps are already supportive enough to take a selfish dps class. Why not making the ascended berserker for your necro and try a new build not reliant on chill and poison?

The problem is not getting people, it’s getting people with the ability to read a 5-10 words lfg.
Only 3 here. I may do a sylvari guard if I’m bored, but I need 60 tomes of knowledge first.
The Eu pugs are a divine punition. After 150 gearchecks and “did you read the lfg?”, you’ll solo the fractal.
Okay, let’s take a second and look at what metabuilds are the most used:
guardians: 4/5/0/0/5. support spec. Not traited for max damage.
elementalists: 6/6/2/0/0: support spec. Not traited for max damage.
Warrior: group utilities over damage boosts.
Engineer: group utility ( nade for vuln stacking) over damage boost ( bomb spam when bleeds are capped)
Ranger:6/5/0/3/0. support spec. Not traited for max damage. Group utility.
Mesmer: usually traited for warden’s feedback. Group utility. Not traited for max damage.Necromancer: traited for max damage. Out of the meta.
Am i missing something?

Well, I’m running D/P S/D in www where you don’t need the shortbow much, that’s why. I found this combo working great on a 2/6/0/0/6 build.
Edit: no, 2/6/0/0/6 works for D/P. S/D can spec into acrobatics for more survivability, d/p acro isn’t a thing though.
They stack and overlap. If you use endure pain at 30% health and get worn out by condis, defy pain will proc for 4 seconds, no matter how much immunity you had left. The cooldowns aren"t shared.
