If you have some dungeon tokens, it’s the easiest way to gear a character in exotic berserker. Karma temples also have some berserkers, afaik. That’s 42k karma a piece. For trinkets, either buy them at tp or directly buy ascended with laurels/ guild recommendations/ fractal relics.
Your main condi cleanse is sword 2. You also have shadowstep. Trickery is harder to play than sa, though. You can’t really spam the clears, and you’re overall very vulnerable to conditions. Signet of agility also removes one condition party wide, but I don’t use that in WwW, only in pvp. Also, trickery deals the same damage kitten. You loose personal survivability for boonhate and interrupt.
Okay, let’s take a second and look at what metabuilds are the most used:
guardians: 4/5/0/0/5. support spec. Not traited for max damage.
elementalists: 6/6/2/0/0: support spec. Not traited for max damage.
Warrior: group utilities over damage boosts.
Engineer: group utility ( nade for vuln stacking) over damage boost ( bomb spam when bleeds are capped)
Ranger:6/5/0/3/0. support spec. Not traited for max damage. Group utility.
Mesmer: usually traited for warden’s feedback. Group utility. Not traited for max damage.
Necromancer: traited for max damage. Out of the meta.
Am i missing something?
Tell me more about your experience with open world content.
This is becoming a bit entertaining.
(btw: I can survive in orr with a level 21 necromancer- there’s nothing hard in open world)
I’m not saying it’s hard for my AH guardian or Ham/Bow Warrior in Open World either, but with them I normally at least get a chance to use my shouts/banners if I want to. With full zerkers, I barely have enough time in the fight to spam skills yet alone use them properly.
Great. Now take your zerker and solo lupicus, you’ll have plenty of time to spam skills and use them properly.

Scepter focus is the meta so I don’t see why it’s a problem.
tl; dr: a nomad guardian has less support than a berserker guardian, given equal builds. And if the nomad is a AH tank, then he’s a waste of a slot no matter how good he is. No one in my group ever get below 90% health, and I’m full berserker taking newcomers to dungeons. Guardians in cleric aren’t promoted in this meta, and it’s a great thing, because you can support perfectly fine in offensive gear.
Because wearing berserker gear means you can’t be funny.
“This argument also falls apart when you realize that this new player isn’t joining any full zerker LFG listings. "
Then what’s the matter? There’s no argument to have about zerker only if you don’t join such groups.
Also, stacking is so 2013.
It features sick gameplay in pve. Upload it to linksville, not in a unrelated section.
Why is this in the www section?
For what content? Anyway, having 4 points in CS without going for the full traitline is a big mistake. It’s the biggest dps gain you can get with traits. I’ll assume this is for pve as that’s what stated in gw2skills:
Shadow arts is, in pvp and pve, a bad traitline. Sitting on stealth during boss fights drop your dps to 0. The only moment where you will be in stealth for longer periods is trash runs, and the blind on stealth will put you in combat everytime you walk around a mob. If you want extra survivability, take 3 points in acrobatics for pve. You don’t have that much condi clear but remember signet of agility removes a condition, and it’s also a great passive for dps. Might stacking signet is fun to use, but ideally you want to keep them for the passive, especially assassin’s and agility; get a shortbow and blast fire fields instead. Speaking of shortbow, it’s a better ranged option than pistol pistol, except when you don’t want to aggro stuff with the bouncing auto attack.
For the stats, aim for berserker. Scholar runes, and force+ night sigil for all purpose dungeons. force+undead for arah, and the others doesn’t’ matter too much.
Welcome to gw2.
I’m the dark side of the community they are all talking about, I’m here as an exemple.
do things evily
Guardians, eles, engineers, and rangers ranged weapons are their best dps option ( or burst, in the case of rangers). Ranged weapons should be for kiting and recovering health, or harassing someone from afar without the penalty of going melee. It shouldn’t be the best damage option. IF anything, most ranged weapons should be nerfed.
You answered your own question. What’s the point of a lower dps ranged weapon? It gives you a range advantage, and a set of utilities to work with. If in a solo fight you need burning, you’ll probably use longbow. The thing is other weapons have better utilities and better damage, so you take them instead if you want to be useful. If you up rifle to the point it’s mandatory in a dps rotation just like ranger lb, you’re forcing everyone caring about their party to use it. Staff fire ele apply the same logic of dps versus utility. THe great utilities of water, air and earth ( swiftness, healing, condi clear, chill, blinds, aoe cc, immob) aren’t the point of a staff ele in combat. He’s here for dps, and a bit of offensive support via fury and vuln.
Sadly support builds are only useful in areas like the new silverwaste zone and wvw/pvp. Large area battles. On the bright side. More and more large area battles seem to be coming into the game. Ont he down side. By the nature of this games combat mechanics its VERY unlikely that dungeons will ever require support. And the issue with support is that if it isn’t NEEDED to pass something than its simply suboptimal. (I can heal for 9000 health a burst!…Yeah but we only took 2000 damage can you also deal 7000 to make up for the time we lost?)
Your lack of comprehension is.. disturbing.
Assassin, yes.
If bosses can only by harmed by condis, we’ll bring the best condition damage dealer, and it probably won’t be necromancer.
For underwater combat, grab a berserker spear, and if you want to minmax it, force sigil+ something. I use wrath because the only moment where I’m underwater is hotw, but you could take undead if you’re wandering in orr. Spam 4 and 2 to win.
There’s cheap food on the tp giving power andprecision, use those.
Fixing something implies it’s broken, so it won’t happen.
It’s the closest you can get to non existent.
Sorry, going home on this one.
Quickly though: Dagger/dagger is the only unviable set in pve. Go D/f instead. Internal fire isn’t a good trait in your build, you won’t camp fire after putting down fire fields and your burst. Take air training in air instead of that little healing power, and camp air autoattack instead. To maximize your dps, move those 4 useless points in water into air for fresh air, then another 10 to either earth for stone splinters or arcana for vigor on crit. If your build is really about support, there’s 0 reasons to take pyromancer’s puissance over persisting flames.
Also, go zerker or go home.
Speaking for pve then:
Guardian and thieves are each at one end of the spectrum. Thieves rely on dodges, evades, movment skills to survive, they have to flank and backstab their target. Guardians kind of stand in the face of the ennemy with party wide blocks and blinds as well. ( Simply put, obviously. Won’t do a wall of text at 7am.)
My main advice would be elementalist. Unrivaled king of offensive support, access to projectile reflection, great damage, good in combat mobility, fun skills, best/ second best in game dps.. Their ranged option is also their best damage output, but I find personally staff boring to play.
The guides you see aren’t all about damage. They are about maximizing damage output with the more support possible.
We also have NPC mesmers using blinks on walls. Give that to WwW, please.
If you’re on an EU server, I don’t mind doing some dungeons with you, explaining the strategies and showing the bosses moves.
It’s far more than 5%.
OP, survivability doesn’t require the same things in pve and in pvp. Running a more tanky meditation build may help you for pvp. It’s not optimal, but it’s strong in 1v1. Try to put 5 points in honor and 6 in valor. The dps goes down a bit, but you still maintain decent pressure with the 10% multiplier an you get a bunch of good stuff. Ultimately it comes down to awareness and knowledge of the game. Playing full bunker is actually harder if you have struggle surviving, as you will probably need more cooldowns to survive and will end up without anything after 30 sec, because you will have to take multiple ennemies at once.
For pve, take at least 3 points in radiance. The perma blind helps a lot for trash mobs, and it stack might and vuln in the meantime with some traits. Shelter should always be your heal. Use retreat and f3 to prevent bosses damage. At first, use them for yourselves. That will make you a less than ideal guardian for a while, but it’s far easier to survive with all these cooldowns. When you’re more experienced, blow your defensive cooldowns for the group, and survive with your personal blocks. Try greatsword/ mace focus. Don’t forget to equip the right utilities ( Wall of Reflection, Hallowed Ground, Purging Flames, etc).
Hope this helps.
What is it lately with those parodies?
Don’t click your evades, problem solved.
Scepter is a bad group pve weapon, more specifically. The main issues with bleeds stacking and all condition builds are the stack cap and the ramp up damage. First, you can’t put more than 25 bleeds, one burning, one poison on a target. This isn’t noticeable in solo, but in a group content, many direct damage spec will also apply damaging conditions via on crit effects or burst abilities. For instance, my assassin engi will keep 20 bleed stacks on a boss, burning, and poison if i decide to use it. That means your damage will get reduced by a lot, since you rely on those conditions to do the damage. Secondly, the ramp up: conditions are slow. It takes a while to reach your maximum dps by stacking the maximum amount of conditions. During that time in an organized party, most mobs are already dead.
The implementation of sinister’s stats may see the rise of one single condi player in all level fractals, but I highly doubt it. There’s also smaller issues like the damage on objects and the number of cleanses available to bosses, not even speaking of condi reduction.
“My idea is so dumb I’m saying in advance to not comment it, and I’m obsessed with something like a mad man; what do you think of the worst balance idea in the world?”
Don’t mind me, I’m the translator.
His “dumb” idea is actually quite smart: link stats to active actions instead of passive effects. It only makes sense in GW2’s combat, and even GW1 did it.
I don’t care about other players opinion in this thread.
The most common pvp spec is shatter 4/4/0/0/6. Gs/staff, the staff can be changed to sword/x for WwW or duels. Shatter is a really fun spec to play, I recommend it. I never really liked phantasm specs, relying on ai isn’t my thing, so I can’t help you on that.
haha. well done.
Unfortunately, ANET doesn’t get sarcasm and I can imagine the WvW team taking down notes and getting excited.
Inb4:
-listening to our dear WwW community, we decided to add a champion train in all game modes. Eotm is now the only way to gain wxp. To build a siege, you have to cut trees first.
Lol, I read stop making skritts.

Don’t listen to those elitists! Staff/scepter is my favorite set on mesmer to rp in dungeons, and I join burger only lfgs all the time. I came with a build that works great for me, it’s an hybrid between conditions and direct damage. It’s probably more damage than the meta builds anyway, because you don’t spend all your time downed like those elitists. The build has CCs, direct damage, condi damage, heal for the whole party.. It’s far more useful than those guys auto attacking with sword all over again. You have to be skilled to use that build, that’s one no one on this forum will defend it but I did maths and it’s the best build with a lot of survivability and damage.
Play how you want!
Why did he not mention me? I feel offended.
The point is, everyone is consciously exposing themselves to the grieving issue. IF they don’t act for sellers, there’s no reason to protect buyers as well, nor anyone playing the game for that matter.
Moral of the story is: Don’t sell dungeons if you don’t want to risk getting kicked. I think you should be happy that it’s not punished by Anet, not every company would tolerate this, at least in the past, where RPG genre was still alive….
Since some people get kicked by simply joining a lfg run, do you advice not using the lfg tool because you risk being kicked?
You forgot this was an MMOrpg. You know, with players interactions, and stuff like that.If you get kicked instantly after joining a lfg group, do you lose anything? No
If you try to sell a dungeon path and get kicked instead, do you lose anything? Time investedThere is the difference you seek….
Also, it’s not an MMOrpg, that is dead for a long time. It’s more like MMOg for several years now…. Character development (leveling etc.) unfortunately doesn’t define RPG genre. Role-playing does, but that’s not needed, not even supported in modern MMO, therefore these games doesn’t deserve such mark imho.
I don’t want to upset or offend anyone, just stating my experience as a long-term MMO player and maybe a bit of my frustration from this fact which came out from the game development observation during last 20 years….
What if i get kicked right before endboss? This is griefing, right?
Because kicking a dungeon seller is exactly this, a kick before endboss.
It’s not. You can just gather in open world. If you enjoy personalizing your home instance though, it’s a good investment.
I kill players, but to each their own. And i’m doing 5 stacks/kill, so I’m probably faster than you all. :>

As the post above highlights, healing power is useful for afking content and bypass mechanics. If anything, it should be nerfed in pve because it allows substantial regen and disable the need for dodging.
I’m sorry, did you consider missing a dodge here and there as AFKing content? I’d love to see a team AFK FoTM50 just because a Nomad Elementalist is in the group…
It doesn’t eliminate the need for dodging, but it certainly eliminates the need for dodging perfectly. And isn’t that the point of support skills? I mean I guess Guards shouldn’t use reflect wall because it eliminates the need for dodging projectiles…and I guess nobody should use any Stability skills as that also eliminates the need for dodging certain knock-back attacks. In fact, I guess nobody should use any skills beyond 1-5….
Keep your hyperbole at home where it belongs…..
I was more referring to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2VhmwLwvrM
You’re angry at me for no reason, as I’m one of the few not caring about what you or your friends run. This was a sarcastic post, because I’m tired of the same thread everyday where I’ll end up getting jumped on by people like you if i dare saying a nomad ele doesn’t have to dodge at all because he’s carried by passive defense. But to argue your point: wall of reflect isn’t a dps loss. Nomad ele has negative dps, and they can’t even support with partywide fury, good mightstacking, projectile defense or blinds. The point is, if you want a relaxed 50 run, take 2 guardians. That’s not meta, that’s “casual”, but you won’t get below 100% health once except for the agony ticks.
tl;dr: I don’t give a duck about your party comp, and I totally support players getting the teams they are more comfortable with. Healing power is easier to play than berserker, I’m fine with that, but a buff isn’t necessary.

Or you know, how about killing actual players and have more fun instead of doing this?
Stacking sigils should be a byproduct.
0/10
WIth a spirit weapon+ purging flames build? I highly doubt it.

Berserker.
CC and immob are extremely valuable. Supporting condis like vuln, weakness or conditions useful for a multiplier like burning ( ele 5 fire trait, guardian 2 zeal trait) are also valuable. Necro dps is top tier. They lack offensive support, defensive support, and active defense.
Concerning your questions about staff eles and necros: staff eles are kind of viable for pvp, but other options are more powerful. Necro is a strong pvp class, especially in the NA meta, a great WwW zerg class, a meh roaming class and the worst dungeon class out there. Overall, they are below average. They are indeed a lot of people to socialize with. I just met a cool guy with a chilled out guild accepting all kind of players without requirements, I can ask him to send you an invite.
Most racial skills are (rightfully) weaker than the generic skills. The only use of sylvari racials I can think of is the immob utility for tar, coupled with entangle. I guess the Take Root elite can be useful when training for lupi solo.
Why not more scrubs!
Guild wars 2 is a constant war between dev trying to fix Detha and Detha finding new way to bug AC path 2.
You are confusing Detha with iWarden.
Pretty sure those 2 are related.
